Prob will handle it the way CAPCOM did with Revelations 2 ... the two bonus episodes that only came with the season pass were later available to purchase as standalone

I've never read any of the comics. TWD Michonne is a totally standalone story, No outside knowledge required.

+1 The original blew my mind back then and I was sad to see more of the RPG elements stripped and streamlined for a broader audience. The ending left a bad taste in my mouth, but I still believe in the indoctrination theory.

Gears is my fav franchise due to the replayability via multiplayer. Gears 4 is more of GoW3 so I'm happy to have a "true Gears experience" again on the xbone
 
its a real shame there isn't a mass effect remaster yet, but I am 90% confident there is going to be a Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed 1-2 remaster announced at E3 this year for release this fall, to "prep" for the next Assassin's Creed (next fall) and Mass Effect Andromeda (spring 2017).

Anyone having problems loading Beach Buggy Racing? It just keeps kicking my son back to the home screen.

Guess I will try uninstalling it and reinstalling it on this Xbox PC. Sometimes I miss console gaming with Cartridges.

Edit: uninstalled it, now it won't even download it.

I guess I'm at the "Buggy" part of Beach Racing.

Did anybody else recieve a $5 promo code from Microsoft for their "first movie or tv" purchase? I did, even though I pay for rentals decently enough. The code was an image too, and not text I was able to highlight and copy, which gave me my doubts... but the email address is legit and the code worked.

Yeah, I got it. The e-mail is titled "Promo code to try Microsoft Movies & TV".

Someone in the Xbox Live freebies thread gave me the heads up this morning.

Supposedly it can be used for games as well. :D

Edit - Maybe it's only for Gold accounts? All of my secondary non-Gold accounts didn't get that e-mail.

LOVE it. I have the Normandy theme as my ringtone on my phone currently. People who have never played the game call it creepy and say it's "halloween music".

This song is the only song I liked outside of the ME1 soundtrack, but it's my favorite song from the ME series. It gives me chills thinking back on when I experienced the red ending for the first time (I was lucky enough to have the extended cut DLC my first time through).

On one of my non-Gold accounts, there's an ad mentioning the $1 for 1-month of Xbox Live Gold. Says 13 days left.

Yeah, a few of them are. I don't use them too often to get the rewards though. Maybe it's just random or could be targeted towards active accounts only. My secondary accounts are rarely used. Then again, my kids' accounts didn't get it either and they are pretty active.

Going to check out DC again. It seemed alright when I played a few hours on PS3. I think I'll have a better experience on Xbox though. Coming up with a decent hero is hard.

Yeah the revolutionary war theme didn't translate as well into AC form as we all thought it would. It was all bogged down by a goodie two shoes character we didn't care about at all. The ship mechanics they introduced led the way to AC4 but in this game they were so minimal that it didn't add a lot to a rather boring story.

I'm still waiting for a proper Feudal Japan setting. That could be really good.

 
I wonder if I will like 3. It sure wasn't liked by most during my research on the series

On paper it is the one I should like the most but maybe the majority is right

Either way I plan on starting II and working my way up till unity over the next few weeks/months/never finish and snag syndicate whenever it hits a price that makes me bite

Takes me an entire day to download a game like unity but not having to get my ass up to spend 5 seconds to insert a disc will really change my life for the better

I'm a huge fan of the time period during the American Revolution and was excited when I first heard AC3 was set in that time period, BUT the game is just bad and boring. Does not get you excited about the historical events. The character is completely forgettable. I can't even think of a single good thing to say about that game -- maybe that it didn't have any game breaking technical bugs (?). There's that, I guess.

I am way more interested in playing as a animal spirit wielding native than the main game

but the dlc is ridiculously priced and I doubt it's season pass will go on sale any time soon so I dunno if I'll ever even get to play it

Before committing yourself to suicide stretched out over the next few months, just play one of them and see if you like it and want to play more of them.

As far as Assassin's Creed III is concerned, it was a sign that the team thought their "successful" Ezio was so good that they'd try to cram that much exposition into one game. It leads to the beginning of that game being about playing as the main character's father before the MC is even born for several hours of slow tutorials and exposition as a weird miniature AC game before the real game starts. It might have done better as a PSN/XBLA thing for $5 a month or two before the game launched.

This. Just stick with AC2 to decide you like it. It's the foundation for the rest of the series and a pretty good litmus test.

The SP was on sale just a few weeks/months ago ($14.99 if I remember correctly). I'm sure it'll hit that point again sometime in the future.

 
To all of you discovering the Fables universe through The Wolf Among Us, I hope you'll give the comic series a try. It ran for 150 issues (through last year) and it was outstanding. Get the trades, read them at a bookstore, hell, get them online, but just give them a chance. They're great. I read a lot of comics and it's one of my favorite series ever.

And that's not only a sensible position; it's really everyone's position. Your sweet spot may be different than mine, but everyone has a price point that's dependent on factors such as how much they expect to enjoy a game and how long they're willing to play to pay it.

The idea that you can quantify your enjoyment and put it up against someone else's as a sort of competition is pretty silly. As is the need to "feel sorry" for someone for how they spend their money. Look, we're buying video games. They're not essential expenses. Technically, any amount spent is a bit frivolous. Furthermore, you don't know the monetary situation of the person buying games at launch.

Everyone's different. Me, personally? I get a few games a year at launch (via GCU so I still never pay $60) and the rest I wait for sales on according to whatever I think the game is worth to me. Feeling sorry for others because they do something different with their money than you would is silly.

So no, you're probably not missing anything, other than some great games. I recommend AC2 and Brotherhood (my personal favorite) heavily.

I do need to try Black Flag again. I was just so initially turned off by what they did with the storyline that I just didn't care anymore, and I didn't have the patience for the sailing parts.

Haha, I'm the opposite. I loved the pirate stuff and hated slogging through the other crap to get to sailing again.

 
As others stated, AssCreed3 sounds good on paper(mainly the American Revolution period), but it is not a good game. I went on an AssCreed quest about two years ago after having only played the original in 07. So I played 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 3, IV and then finally Liberation over a period of 6-8 months. AC3 was the slog but I was rejuvenated when I got around to ACIV. Then Liberation was more of the same, but not as bad as AC3.

I've played about an hour of Unity and I still got the three Chronicles games to play + Syndicate. I just dread the thought of playing those five games and marathoning them which leads to another time sink. I should just go back to collecting games and not playing them. Just the thought of playing wears me out

I have some sort of mental disorder or something because this is what I have done for so long

I used to collect vhs and hardly ever watch tv

then I collected dvds and hardly ever watched tv

I collect games and rarely game.

I guess it stems from nostalgia of the 80s and 90s when I watched a lot of movies and played a lot of games and somehow this is my way of holding on to those memories or something

maybe I just suffer from first world disorder

I wonder how achievements will go with DCUO.  There are 123 trophies for the PS versions but the base game already has 1000 points for only the first 13 achievements.

 
I have time to game on consoles(usually 10-15 hours a week), but as much as I'd like to play new games......I go back to a decent amount of classics. I own just shy of 700 games(actual games, not digital), which span from the Odyssey2 to my X1. So as cool as it is to murder foes in the Gears 4 beta, I wanna go back and play Donkey Kong Country 2 and go for 102% again *shrugs*
 
I may be crazy, but I actually liked AC3. The tutorial phase lasted 3x longer than it should have been, but I liked the setting, didn't mind Conor (bastard soon of a templar? Nice plot point if a bit trite), and would have played the dlc if it ever went on sale. It's not as good as others, but I definitely didn't hate it.

I did an Amazon pre-order for Overwatch so I can get the early access on console and cancel later. Last day to get those codes if you're interested.
