Their more indepth tests really don't make it sound like much of a big deal. The big boost is going to be limited to the few games with uncapped framerate (shown in video) or possibly dynamic resolutions (like Overwatch), and games that fail to meet their target framerates depending on the reason. I still think the upgrade is only worth it if you care about the 4K media stuff or HDR. I'm holding off for Scorpio unless my console has some catastrophe happen.

This is some crazy stuff. I think MS really shot themselves in the foot announcing Scorpio so early. I would have easily bought a XBox 1 S if the Scorpio was out in 2018 and/or I didn't know it was coming next holiday.

I'm more curious on their Halo 5 video test (resolution is dynamic) and further BC tests.

The Scorpio is going to be a beast of a console. I'd imagine come digital foundry time we're going to see a locked 60fps on Project Cars when It's out. Games like Hitman should hit the target as well.

A lot of people would have gotten pissed if they upgraded at $300-400 thinking it was a real upgrade then Scorpio was announced a couple months later. Normally Slim models don't add quite as much as One S does so I could see people making the mistake.

It is technically a bad business decision since more people would probably buy an S, but announcing it ahead of the S release means customers are more informed and generally won't feel like they're being treated poorly. The original Xbone launch disaster has clearly shaped the Xbox team's path pretty much since Spencer was put in charge, and I hope they keep it up permanently.

Plus Scorpio and PS4 Neo had leaks and rumors out the ass well before E3, might as well get out ahead of them.

Doom singleplayer is totally worth it, multiplayer is fun but forgettable.

Anyway, since the latest dashboard update I can't order my games for "last used" because it shows nothing. Am I the only one?

Haha, I'm stuck on that same chapter. I don't completely understand the logic of the gimmick for the chapter. It wasn't really explained. I think it pulls down a block from the top that is the same color as what you removed below, but ensuring that you always have a multiple of 3 of any color. So in addition to getting rid of the blocks down below, you need to plan ahead where you want certain colored blocks to end up at the top when you're almost done. Haven't quite worked out a quick way to do this so each puzzle is slow going so far.

I think Mr. Driller is a fun time. Been enjoying it since the Dreamcast. Rally X is dated but still a good time. I think everyone still waiting for all the AAA games for BC may have to hold their breath. Sure we got RDR but for everyone of those games there will be a dozen old live titles . Not to mention that fun trend of re-releasing AAA games that are remastered and definite editions , right Activision ;)

the singleplayer really is good, but you're not going to get much out of multiplayer. 30 dollars on disc would be a no brainer for me since I can dump it off after and get some money back, but 30 dollars and keep it forever, knowing I'll probably never touch it again, is borderline for me.

 
I put in my 1 month Gold code this morning and didnt go in effect.  I was gonna pick up Castlevania SotN. Came back hours later, it got taken out. SOB! Damn microsoft. My money is gonna expire next week.

I worked at a PJ for 8 years. If it was in the store and edible, I probably made a pizza out of it. I really like to make my own pizzas by stretching a medium onto an XL rack, par-baking it, using fresh tomatoes instead of sauce, and generally veggies, chicken, and bacon (who the hell wants completely healthy food?). Nowadays I tend to go for PM's gourmet veggie w/ chicken instead of artichokes. I totally get the broccoli, chicken and broc on white sauce is a classic.

You can thank the PS4. A console with no BC ability gives them an excuse to rerelease games "remastered". And they can't just leave the XB1 gamers out on that +5FPS goodness!

Resident Evil 4 comes to mind (since I'm playing it on 360 currently). Granted, the XB1 remaster isn't out yet, but what else can they possibly do with a GC game? I smell a port, like Stick of Truth (at least that actually went BC though). I also don't have it in my heart to buy the game a fifth time. It's a good game, but it's not THAT good.

Don't get me wrong, there's been some worthy re-releases this generation at reasonable prices, but I can count them on one hand.

The reviews for Suicide Squad make me sad but honestly any time I watched a clip that was not accompanied by a soundtrack I kind of cringed. The dialogue did not seem very good.

Gonna have to disagree with you, mostly because I own all 3 games. That, and one of them is made by Cave. :bouncy:

PSA #2: The XBLA versions of Mr. Driller Online and Super Rally-X are found on the Namco Museum Virtual Arcade disc, so see if you have that before buying.

Can anyone confirm that BC supports the disc yet?

The fact that they're giving out tickets for free again like with BvS, there's a tight review embargo and it's releasing in August where movies go to die, is enough evidence that it's probably awful.

Not to mention they did reshoots after Deadpool's runaway success, which just means they didn't have much faith in their movie to begin with.

Yes!  Decided to buy Old Blood a few hours ago.  I hope they don't revoke it.

For those that have played the DLC for The Evil Within, is it any good?  About how much play time does it add?

 
I'll just wait for the Wolfenstein bundle in the near future again, or for both to get cheaper. The physical releases have been cheaper (used at Walmart).

There's a demo. I need to try it out myself too.

Also ended up redeeming that Tmobile Tuesday free Suicide Squad ticket for Friday. Matinee is only $4.49 but buying through Fandago adds a convenience fee making it $5.84, so dumb. I enjoyed BvS but it could've been better so we shall see.

Any end credit scenes for this movie?

From what I've read, it's mainly that it deviates from source material (I'm assuming for padding to justify being released in theaters) and when it does, it's garbage. All the scenes adapted directly from the comic are supposedly great however, which is why it's disappointing as opposed to plain bad.

Curious to hear impressions of The Park for anyone who snatched it up. I can live with a short walking sim as long as it is good while it lasts.
 
For some reason Old Blood still showed up at $5 for me when I used the Bethesda Games Sale tab, grabbed it, thanks for the heads up.

As for Suicide Squad, I haven't watched any trailers since the original one, just a policy I've gone on for movies and games I plan to check out. I didn't think it looked all that good but I have a movie group with my friends that sees pretty much every superhero movie unless it looks like total gutter trash, like Fantastic Four. Hard to turn it down for free.

Also, now that Geoff Johns is going to be in charge going forward, I'm optimistic for the future. DC has desperately needed someone competent at the head like Marvel has had since Iron Man.
