Haven't found answer about Bioshock impulse triggers support, but there is apparently a game save breaking freeze problem on PS4.  So xbone might be the better choice regardless for early buyers.

 
All this new Gears 4 Horde Mode info and footage is hyping me up big-time. Now to decide if I should get it retail for $48 or $60 digital.....

Two questions 1)through what means can you get GoW4 early? Retail release is 10/11, but I've seen mention you can play 10/7. 2)If I get it digital, any way I can earn points or cash back? Thru MS rewards or something?

Actually not all of their games are backwards compatible. Sadly The Gunstringer will never be backwards compatible.

MS sent me an email today but it seemed to indicate it was for physical only. They said it would apply to all pre orders (ones done months ago). Would be cool if it also applied to digital as I pre ordered it that way but I am not holding my breath.

No saving limits it some. This guy shit this out pretty fast too so I'd guess there are probably emulation bugs, and it sounds like it's just RetroArch since it can play SNES, Genesis and Game Boy games too. I don't think they could really do anything to shut them down, but it is shady if it's the case.

I don't know that this can get DMCA'd at least since you have to provide your own ROMs, but we'll see. I would think MS could block the website on Xbone if they really want to.

Buying the Ultimate edition lets you play 4 days early on Oct 7th.

XBL Rewards added a promotion this month for digital Gears 4 where you get $5 worth of Rewards credit back for the standard edition, $10 in credits for Ultimate. The FAQ says it's retroactive for those that already preordered.

So I finally joined the xbox master race and I have something that's been bothering me.. Is there a way to speed up the installation process? I bought the halo bundle and halo 5 was fucking 91 gbs. It took me a day to install it.

I saw some suggestions saying go offline so I might try that with the mcc but holy shit, the ps4 takes like 30 seconds to install a game. I might as well ask this too, what indies or digital only games should I check out? I definitely want to try we happy few when I get out of work.

It was a really big success it seemed like, tons of people were playing it and it was the hot thing on the internets with the gaming community at the time. They gave some reason back then but I have no idea what it was.

Yeah it is a slow process in general, going offline seems to help but not a guarantee.

In terms of the games PS4 has far more Indie titles than here on X1 as I am sure you are aware. I own both X1 and Ps4 and forget which are exclusive to one or the other most of the time but that being said here is my list (that I own on X1 in particular that I have really enjoyed:

Probably part the license not being worth it and that they seemed to have trouble getting advertisers, which could be easier to do today with the various companies that get ads in every podcast out there.

You used to have to go offline but now you can just turn down the option that pops up for an update. This lets you install from the disc directly instead of downloading by default which is what it used to do. Then you just have to download the update you skipped after but since it's way small it goes pretty fast generally. Halo 5 is an exception here since they keep adding content and now it's ridiculously huge, so you still have about 40-50 gigs to download. A wired connection is generally faster unless you have an expensive router, too.

Indie/digital game exclusives I would say Ori and the Blind Forest, D4,... there are more exclusives but they aren't jumping into my head, most downloadable exclusives are on the PS4 due to it's popularity, aside from first-party games. The backwards compatible Rare games if you don't have Rare Replay. Grab Earthlock while it's still Games With Gold. I'd say the Xbox version of Shovel Knight is best because it has a full Battletoads level instead of just the Kratos fight of PS4. Some of the good exclusives from early on are dirt cheap now, like Sunset Overdrive

 
Regarding LotR: War in the North, is it worth it? I can certainly enjoy a mindless, button-mashing hack n' slash from time to time, as long as it doesn't get boring. I'm afraid that, given the setting, this one'll be orcs, orcs and more orcs.

I've been getting error codes on purchasing 360 stuff via Firefox, but for some reason IE works fine.

Took me a few tries getting it from the console. Just wouldn't purchase and kept giving me an error code.

EDIT: I seem to be getting error messages trying to download AC: China from the site. Can I not buy anything without a credit card anymore? I purchased the last GwG through my 360 so I don't know if it's a new change.

I'm on Microsoft Edge.

There's variety in the enemies you fight because you visit many different locations (The Ettenmoors, Mirkwood, Brie, Rivendell & more). Off memory, I can recall cave trolls, wraiths, spiders, stone giant in addition to Orcs and goblins. It's a pretty fun hack and slash.

If you're a fan of Tolkien's Middle Earth, I can't see you getting bored because there's tons of references and interaction with some of the LotR lore/characters from the movies. No brainer at the current price.
 
Those Fable III freebies are working now, yeah the page didn't work for me before. Just needed the dog breed DLC, appreciate the heads up CAG.

 
Anyone even show points pending for buying Resident Evil 4 through the MS store? Hope they don't screw us over since $15 back on a $20 game is kind of too good to be true.
