I hope the KoFXIII sale means that it's going to be BC (as an apology for KoFXIV not being on Xbone). Decent prices on the Risen series but it would be nice if they'd finally put their DLC and the Sacred 3 DLC on sale. Would be even nicer if they'd make the Risen series BC (only the Sacred titles on sale are BC, but both series have the same publisher).

If I can get enough Bing credits in time, I'm probably in for Akai Katana since I own the Deathsmiles LE. Risen series is a skip until either a BC announcement or that DLC sale happens.

If any of you game on Steam, both the Risen and Sacred series have been incredibly cheap and have better performance (especially on Risen 3 and Sacred 3), so I'd just buy them there.

I liked it enough. I got it for like $15 at one point and it was worth it. I played it with each character and on the hardest difficulty. I've never done that with any other game. Ever.

I have tried various Risen games a few different times and just cannot get into them. They seem, to me at least, to be the epitome of 'meh.' Almost like a janky Witcher with pirates. That being said maybe if you really get into them they get better, I just never could.

They're euro RPGs and they have a great pedigree. If you thought Gothic 1 and 2 were great, Risen is pretty solid. It doesn't have the amazing world building that went into the society of the early Gothic games, but Risen has some of the heart.

After they established that cache they went straight down hill in to the crapper with each sequel though. Anything 3 and above in those series so far have been turds.

After some sleuthing, I found the connection between all the recent shmups on sale.

They're all co-published by Rising Star Games for EU, a small time publisher who has a decent Steam presence. Deathsmiles II is not co-published by them, which is why it's still never been on sale, never been released in the EU and will likely not see a Steam port like Deathsmiles did.

I'm not sure what other shmups are available digitally on 360 that were co-published by Rising Star Games, but it's a safe bet that you should probably not buy them at full price.

You're probably right though. M$ is most likely taking a beating on hardware costs, and I don't imagine the Scorpio'll be much better for them. They also have a much smaller marketshare, so they need to squeeze the pennies out of each of us.

Season Pass adds a huge expansion (so big they had to bump up the expansion and season pass' prices), so I'd recommend getting whatever version comes with the season pass.

Trying to remember what I've bought over the past few sales...Gears of War Ultimate Edition (Still have not really played much of ANY in the series yet, what was with all of the 360 BC Gears versions getting 600mb to 900mb updates on the One yesterday?), Batman Arkham Knight, Shadow of Mordor GOTY, Titanfall, and Dishonored Definitive edition. And a 1tb drive for the One. Have yet to really play anything other than FO4 though...

 
Was debating Injustice + Season Pass and Mortal Kombat + Season Pass, but probably just going to get complete editions on disc eventually since they have more content.

Probably going to get Deathsmiles and Akai Katana next Monday, though, since Date Night will probably leave me with blue balls again.

I was so excited for Dead Island, remember my roommate and I had it preloaded on Steam and played all night the minute it released. The next morning I was like... Do you even like it? And we both did not. Haha it was super junky and just never felt right to me and there were more than one major flaws that rubbed me the wrong way.
All of that being said, I thought Dying Light however, was fantastic.

Tried playing Risen 3 on PS4. It's really bad. I do like the stuff Spider does on the budget RPG side though. I'm enjoying Technomancer a lot.

I didn't think the performance was terrible or anything, just the actual game and combat. If I remember correctly it actually looked pretty nice. I didn't play for super long though. The combat felt especially basic and boring after playing Technomancer, which while it doesn't have the deepest combat has multiple stances/weapons and magic type shit. Maybe it gets better, I just have too much other stuff to play to find out right now
 
Well, at least my wife will be happy that I'm not buying any other games before FH3 hits. Microsoft protects my bank account yet again. After that I think I'm just waiting for Cuphead... Assuming it actually releases this year.

So has anyone played the Battlefront Death Star DLC?
Are there offline modes?

It looks great but debating on whether I should just wait two weeks when it's available separately or get the Season Pass.

I really should wait since the other DLC doesn't interest me much and $15 is a lot easier to swallow than $50 (although I'd get the 10% EA Access discount). But I love space combat and the idea of a trench run.
 
Seeing all the landscapes and reviews of Horizon 3 is making me consider playing the first two games in that series in my dumb backlog...eventually.

I wanted to get FH3 so badly as it is and told myself I would be strong and wait but now with the absolutely glowing reviews across the board I am not sure I can stay strong....

 
I would say that if you plan on playing 1 and 2, do it before playing 3. It's clear 3 is going to be absolutely glorious and better in every way so you wouldn't want to go back later and play the old ones most likely. At least I couldn't.

From my experience with the trial, the "Missions" were just 10 preset battles. Sure, you could choose the character and map, but it wasn't like playing any game mode with bots. I think that would be a great addition, and probably would have drawn me in early on.

You just missed the Warner Bros. weekly sale that included a bunch of Lego games. It started last Monday and ended earlier today. I just bought Lord of the Rings: War in the North around 7 a.m. EST this morning. I assume it ended shortly after that.

Yea I read it wrong.. I was trying to buy it online, but it wouldn't let me use my Xbox Credit, so I had to dig out my Xbox and hook it up... when I got everything updated.. sale was over.

The new mode will be available starting July 21 and offers players the option to play offline against bots in a solo mission or with a friend using co-op split screen. (Console only) Skirmish can be played on a difficulty level of your choosing and across two modes, Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron. With multiple locations that span the galaxy, from the frozen planet of Hoth to the lava encrusted planet of Sullust, we hope Skirmish brings players a new way to enjoy Star Wars Battlefront.

Except for the one douche from International Business Times UK that gave it a 4/10. He has been deleting comments from his thread all day.

Edit: He seems to only come out to trash MS exclusives. Gave Quantum Break a 4/10 also.
