I dunno why people prefer using paypal, had I used my credit card (which I usually do) it would have went right off my temp hold after the merchant (rakuten) cancelled. Used paypal which I rarely do and now I'm out 20 bucks for a cancelled order (thus far) with no refund in sight lol

I ordered the iPad Mini last year on Nov 27th, I canceled the order when I noticed i got the wrong color lol.

So they put in the refund on Nov 27th and Paypal put the money in my Paypal Balance and i transferred it on Dec 1st into my bank account and it was available Dec 2nd.

I don't have an actual case or refund request or anything because my order was cancelled by the merchant not me

don't I need to open a dispute on a cancelled order or be more patient for an auto return?

I'm about to just go through my credit card and dispute the charge and actually get results because i have yet to get a hold of a human with paypal it's crazy how automated they are

I might give them one more transaction night to see if something automatically (which it should have) returns some money somewhere

 
I found my old OG Xbox while moving and I'm not using it. I wanted to try my hand at soft modding it. I know this site has TOS against this but can someone PM me to point me in the right direction. 

 
Finally got a hold of a person at paypal and she recommended she open a case for me

since rakuten claimed they cancelled but got the payment and told me it was paypal's problem she seemed defensive about paypal over it and wanted a dispute opened lol

so now I have to wait up to 10 days for rakuten to respond to an obvious cancelled order when I have multiple emails and their own site saying they cancelled lol.....

deleting that site out of my bookmarks for sure haha

So, it looks like Dolby Atmos is just something you enable through the X1 menu? Sweet, I'll check it out later today. I also got a soundbar on BF and it's such an improvement over my TV speakers. Sure, it's not surround sound, but I can't be bothered to set something like that up and I'm by no means an audiophile.

That's good. I recognize that Paypal can be good for buyers, but it's frequently a pain in the ass for sellers. I don't even sell physical products; I use Paypal for freelance writing work so there's no physical goods to send. Still, every once in a great while they'll try to hit me with a ridiculous hold for three weeks and I have to go back and forth with customer service reps who have no idea what's going on for a few email exchanges to get it released.

Man I feel like they had MCC for under $10 for what felt like forever. Think I traded in physical when they had it for around $6. Everyone hop in your DeLorean!
 
Went by gamestop today after work. They moved a ton of stuff over to clearance, and everything was 50% off the sticker prices. Picked up a couple statues for under $30 and a fiberglass darth vader lightsaber for ~$60.

 
I don;t suppose there is any way to get old 360 games like Costume Quest or Dust: An Elysian Tale for cheap through CDkeys or whatever? I would have held out for a sale but Store Parser says they haven't been on sale in 5-6 years. :(

Ha, that brings back memories. I did that back in college and even had a legal/rights of the consumer/owner discussion about modding your Xbox with one of my professors who taught copyright topics. I had such a fun time doing it for mine that my college roommate - who practically already had all the consoles, he showed them to me - even had a NES that he had to wait for it to warm up in a few hours to play - wanted me to set him up as well. I put on a N64 emulator on the thing, funny this is before the mini-NES/SNES and/or mini-N64, just like I had on mine but for some reason all of a sudden my emulator stopped working. He always would bring that up, like wasn't it funny that your N64 emulator stopped working on your Xbox but it worked on mine. Yeah yeah funny. SOB :lol:

Unfortunately I don't remember who I used.

Woohoo! I encourage you to scan / photograph your original form before mailing it in, just in case they try to tell you it had to be MSRP since that was a previous requirement.

For real though, they knew no one would be paying MSRP more than 3-4 weeks post-launch, and the two-pack came out months before the sequel, so it seems pretty obvious they changed them for that reason.

I'm an Xbox One gamer like I am a smoker; I regret starting, but now that I am one, it just is what it is. But if I could go back in time, I would have went with a PS4 and invested all my time, money, and achievement/trophy hunting there in that ecosystem. The exclusives make me drool, but I really don't need to buy another game console, especially just for exclusives. Fortunately, a lot of those exclusives are making their way to Steam as-of-late, so I don't feel like I'm missing out as much.

This is also easy to say coming from someone who doesn't have an X1X or a 4K TV. I just don't see how 4K gaming is more important than exclusive games that aren't FPS-oriented.

Finished Halo 3.  I had more fun with the driving levels than anything else which is ironic since I didn't like the driving in the original Halo.  Nice finale, but the plot didn't do anything for me otherwise and it seemed shorter than the previous games. Otherwise I would say it's an ok game since it felt like more of the same gameplay.

Rank: Halo 2 > Halo 1 > Halo 3.

Since I'm craving more FPS action, I'm thinking of playing either Battlefield 4, Black Ops 2, or the next Halo (ODST? Reach?).

If you aren't burned out on the basics, either Reach or ODST would be great choices. ODST feels a lot different. It's short, but it's quality over quantity, and the mission structure fixes my biggest complaint with Bungie's games - levels being artificially lengthened by running back out through the same level or structure you just fought you way into. Reach avoids that problem, too, and is also very good.

I'd go with ODST before Reach, if only because it's basically an expansion using the same exact engine and everything. It's one of the better campaigns for Halo.

I don't know, I got my PS4 like 3 months ago and I've already got about 17 exclusives. Of those, I think 4 are on PC, and out of the upcoming stuff, I think the only first-party game that has a possible chance for PC is probably Death Stranding. A lot of the third-party exclusives still stay away from PC, aside from some of the bigger publishers like Sega, just because Japan isn't that invested in the platform as a whole. This argument makes infinitely more sense when applied to Xbox, seeing as the four exclusives we've had this year are ALL on PC as well, with only Cuphead technically being a third-party exclusive, even Super Lucky's Tale is published by MS. I personally fell the PS4 purchase IS worth it just for exclusives, especially compared to Xbox, but to each their own.

 
^ The great thing about Reach was one of the one things some didn't like, you weren't Master Chief. You were an ODST character, "the Rookie", and you had to play the game differently because you weren't a tank like you are when you play as Master Chief. It also has a beautiful soundtrack to go along with the game. I enjoyed the campaign as the flashback segments were a fresh new take on the Halo formula and it reminded me of reading a Halo book tbh.

I'll give it another year (probably less) and I'll be more inclined to get a PS4. I had a PS3 last gen for the same reason, Sony exclusives, and once I finished the handful of exclusives games I wanted to play, it collected dust. But the exclusives have really been piling up this gen.

Super Lucky's Tale looks good. I want more games like that on Xbox. I don't even care that it's on PC; as beefy as my PC is, I rarely use it unless I need to because console gaming is just more comfortable to me, so I don't even take that into consideration.

I use my PS4 for exclusives and that’s pretty much it. Buy almost all third party games on Xbox even before I got an X. Just like the ecosystem even before I got an X. But now unless there is some amazing deal, doubt I will get any more multiplats on PS4.

Hate to be a snob but kinda wish we would get a few X exclusives that really push it. But know MS had no plans to do so.

I've hit the point that after the holidays I plan on taking a long break from buying new stuff to try and get through the (current gen) backlog. I think I'll be bouncing between all the consoles a lot going forward, but even with me buying multiplat games on Xbox the sheer disparity between the numbers of exclusives I think my split between Xbox and PS is going to be pretty even, minus the time on multiplayer games on Xbox.

Give it time, it's coming but the way games are built these days there's a lot of assets that have to be made first lol.

Eventhough it's not a new gen console, it is a new gaming ecosystem for developers so they'll have to play around with it and get comfortable. The great news was though that everybody who got their hands on a dev kit said it was super easy to move existing work onto it or you know be able to build efficiently on since it's the tech they've all been asking for.

I know it's too late now, but for future reference, where do you see quests like the Game Pass one? I know where the Live Gold one is. I checked my dashboard and the Live Rewards website, but I don't see the Game Pass one. Is that valid only for people who see that quest or is it for everybody? (I have Game Pass, btw.)

Another cool thing about reach is the character that you make is the star of the show. I loved how your character is in cut scenes and movies. I liked reach way more then odst.

I didn't like odst as much. It feels like a different game. You have to plan your attacks more and use cover more since youre not a spartan. A hint on odst you can get lost in the map and go the wrong way. Use the waypoints on your map. If you see covanat go that way lol.

I literally spent days wondering the map because I kept missing a little computer chip that you had to scan. It was in the middle of the street and it's the same color of the heads up visor. I about rage quit that game and never went back.
