I just went nuts with one last trade in and got enough to order the $500 Switch bundle. Hopefully it takes less than 3 weeks to get here.

Zelda+DLC, Mario Kart, and Arms. $500 is pretty steep, but I wanted all 3 and I don't see them getting better than $10 price drops any time soon aside from Arms. Wish I would have bit the bullet while the trade bump was still in effect, I only got like 40 for Zelda Wii U when it was $59 before.

But I only paid $10 out of pocket and 95% of what I traded was retro games and games that I owned digitally from GWG.

Edit: there's also a couple of Arms bundles for $470, but unless you know you're all in on that game I think it's worth the extra $30 to get the one I got. Even more so if you didn't already play Zelda Wii U like me.

I'm still torn on the X1X. On the one hand, the GS flippageddon II gave me the money to do it. On the other hand, some of the PS4 exclusives look good enough to buy a PS4 to play them...

I don't have a 4K TV, anyway, so not sure that the pull of the X1X for me is just having the new console... My fat X1 is still humming along just fine.

If GameStop would just carry hookers and blow, I wouldn't be having this problem deciding what to throw my money away on...

Yeah I was just curious. I got my neon Switch on launch and put about 120 hours into BoTW before burning out on it. Kind of annoyed with myself I haven't finished it yet but it started to lose it's charm at a certain point. Arms and MK8 are both awesome with another person. If you have a co-op buddy or SO who likes Tetris I can't recommend Puyo Puyo enough.

Yeah, I hit 60, finished the story, and put it down to move on to Mass Effect and a few other games. Now that the DLC is out I'll probably just start from scratch on Master mode and play it into the ground. I skipped MK8 on Wii U as well assuming an NX release was inevitable and it paid off. But with Odyssey, Metroid Prime, and a Pokemon RPG coming it was enough to sway me from getting a PS4 instead.

Nah, I've been taking a break from gaming for past few months so I haven't had anytime to log onto Ge4rs in awhile. I Think I'll start up again one of these days since I got a bit of free time, but right now I'm also trying to finally beat Zelda as well. Hobbies be hard yo.

I got my PS4 just for Bloodborne and Persona 5 (though had no idea at the time when the new Persona was coming out, assumed PS4 exclusive. Surprised to see it was also on PS3). I also bought a Wii U for Nintendo exclusives. Only reason I don't own a Switch right now is BECAUSE I bought a Wii U. I was able to get Breath of the Wild and I already played a lot of Mario Kart 8. But Nintendo is going to get my money down the road for the "remastered" editions of Pokken and Mario Kart. Just not at MSRP of course.

I also own a Vita TV just for Persona 4 Golden and bought a cheap Vita at one point. Surprisingly new games will still be coming out for the Vita in 2018.

I've balked at getting a Pro. My wife uses the PS4 right now on the other TV which is 1080p, and even then a lot of the PS4 Pro "enhanced" titles don't seem a lot better. The power difference between the X and XB1S is YHUGE, so I can see a greater benefit especially if your main system is XBox.

lol I've had a PS4pro since it was released. It's good for exclusives and fun for VR.

 
No hatred towards PS4. If I owned one, I'd probably use it more than my X1 due to exclusives. Competition is good for the industry and forces innovation, but I don't get people who get so worked up over platform loyalty.

Besides, someone's mother in this thread was a PS4, so we should be respectful.

I've been playing so much VR lately on the PS4 that it's kinda hard to go back to playing regular games on the X1. I really hope MS has a VR option for the X
 
Don't feel so bad Bobby, I also bought a PS4 Pro. Though I kind of regret it. I don't like the PS4 controller as much as I did the PS3. I hate the stupid light and touchscreen. I couldn't resist since $150 and a couple hours of my time allowed me to be able to purchase a PS4 Pro and an Xbox One X eventually. Probably won't get much use out of the Pro once I am done with No Man Sky, Horizon, and The Last of Us until some of the 2018 PS Titles come out. Maybe I will get PS VR but I don't know.

Did anyone else do that promo where you buy a digital book off microsoftstore.com and are supposed to get a free $5 me giftcard? I bought a book on the 29th and still haven't gotten emailed a giftcard. Promo did say it could take 10 days. Well it's day 9. :p

Just curious if anyone else is still waiting?

Yeah, I pulled the PS4 controller out of the box and it feels so weird to use after having so much experience with 360 and Xbone controllers. The flimsy triggers are especially triggering. Also, I recommend playing No Man's Sky last since the consensus is that it's the worst of those 3. There are plenty of other good exclusives though.

I wouldn't get PSVR. Can't imagine it's selling that well, it'll get cheap eventually.

You're in luck sort of, you're not alone. My youngest brother also bought his book on the 29th and still hasn't received his GC. Same for my youngest sister who bought hers on the 30th (though it was pretty close to July 1st tbh, imagine someone is going to have to argue with them for it). The other 5 of us got ours at the same time.

Anyway, my "brother" (someone who spoke on his behalf) talked to CS and after getting bounced around to different departments because nobody knew where to send him, the competent rep said that the promotion states they have 'till Monday to email us the GCs. The rep told my "brother" that he could follow-up on Monday if he didn't get the GC by then, and they would just deposit the $5 into his account directly.

tl;dr If it's not there by the end of Monday, talk to support and they'll give you the $5 directly into your account.

My only problem with PlayStation is that if I am playing any first person shooter and I want to strafe right while turning left my thumbs touch. I have always hated that about those controllers.

Yeah this is me as well. I have had a blast with the Nintendo games; Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Maker, Wii Fit U (I also like Kinect stuff, big whoop wanna fight about it?), Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Galaxy 1&2 (missed these initially) and Zelda: Wind Waker HD (Breath of the Wild is a future purchase).

I do plan on getting one eventually. Probably next year at some point. Nintendo is just in my blood, and being on board for an actually not dead console that isn't the Wii that has a lot of stuff I care about already announced is awesome for me personally.

Plus, literally every PS4 exclusive I care about is single player, so I'm not really missing out by waiting.
