Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
[*]Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!

Anime Week 2 Deals don't seem to be fully up yet..aside from RWBY; One Piece Burning Blood should be on Sale too, but the price doesn't seem to have dropped yet...might buy it for the right price... even though it's not One Piece Warriors 3...

Also considering the Instant Indie Collection and maybe Momodora hum

also snagged 3 Months Live + 10€ Live Credit for 17,49€ on Amazon...

God damnit, the 360 sales ended already?

Usually you have till late morning/early afternoon, was just about to buy.  :wall:  :wall:  :wall:

Guess you can't wait 'till Tuesday morning anymore.

it's $4 and it won more than 50 game of the year awards

how cheap and how many awards does a game need to be worth a purchase?
The only reason I am not buying it is I already paid $10 for it last June on PSN and haven't played the DLC much yet.

I had bought the base disc previous to that didn't really get into and traded it back. Wanted to give it a second chance. So glad I did. I had to start over which was actually the best thing for me. Took more time learning the combat and leveling up. Great game. If you even remotely like games like this it is pretty silly to debate. Combat is so much fun once you level up and get used to it a bit.

Anybody want/need any of these that didn't get them?:

1) Forza Horizon 3 Halo Warthog DLC

2) Rare Replay Full Game

3) Xbox E3 Mixpot- hodge podge bundle of crap

4) Lego SW: Force Awakens Empire Strikes Back character pack dlc

I ended up having to contact Xbox on twitter because I only got half of the Mixpot stuff. They sent me codes for all of it so it'd be a shame to let these codes go to waste. I ended up buying the Deluxe edition of Lego Force Awakens so I had two. If you want any of these PM me.
i'd like the lego star wars dlc please

October 27:

Wolfenstein II

AC: Origins

Super Mario Odyssey

and now Stranger Things 2 on Netflix

(and The Evil Within 2 just 4 days later)

(then XB1X just 11 days later)

Me, starting 10/27:

The third and final Mafia III DLC "Sign of the Times" releases 7/25.

Will be sad to close the book on Lincoln Clay after this comes out. One my favorite games this gen.

This Prime Day stuff is frustrating.

I've been able to order some baby stuff and a board game easily, but when the Lego World deal came up, it's an endless cycle of "add this item to the cart" and nothing popping up despite it showing the deal as not completely claimed.

Not to get anyone's hopes up too high, but I was just in GS and a dude was buying Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. He said it was going BC today, which would make sense given the Sonic sale this week.

I can't find any leaks online but here's hoping he's right and a bunch of Sonic games are being added in 5 minutes.

That would be sweet! Probably the best classic game collection ever released IMO.

Edit: Booooo! If EDF and F1 are all we’re getting (not that EDF is a bad thing).

I totally still have a copy of this! Huzzah!

Why are so many people on a site called 'cheapassgamer' constantly surprised that people do things to reduce the cost to buy videogames?
For me it's the concept of value over cost. Just cheap isn't enough for me, it has to be something I want, and at a price point that has the most value to me. I've been on CAG for, hell...12-13 years, and I've scored hundreds of deals thanks to the forums. 12-13 years ago I was a newlywed, with no kids, a modestly paying job, and far more free time. Since then, I've had three kids, work a far more demanding, better paying job, and have taken on a handful of new hobbies I didn't have back then. The amount of time it would take me to save a very small amount of money, doesn't have the same value to me anymore. Not spending 3hrs driving around town to save $10 on a game, is worth way more than $10.

It's like oil changes. Back when I was younger, and poorer, I'd change my own oil. Then I got to a point where I made enough that my time was worth more than the few bucks I could save doing it myself. Now, it's been over a decade since I last changed my own oil. I spend more money, but I have more available time to do other things.

So...that's how a person can reconcile being a (verrrrry longtime) member of CAG, but not seeing value in spending hours and hours to save a few bucks.

lol why? Are you really going to play it?
Who are we kidding, no one here plays games. I Bought 8 games from the Amazon glitch yesterday that I think at best (AT BEST) I'll play one of them in next two years. Why are you looking at me like that? I Don't have a problem. YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!

Just ordered a copy of EDF for $3.77 off GS.com before they jack the price up.
It's part of their 4 for $10 deal too lol. I just got 8 games for $6.40(after tax) after using my $10 off of $10 coupon! I don't know if it will work for everyone else but here is the code i used.

My buddy said he got this one to work:

GC4S874V70523

I had to use this one:

LCYLV031V9QZF

It should show the discount in cart after you apply the code, if they work. I had to call support after the one my buddy gave me didn't work(Tell them you got an e-mail with it? They asked me how I got the code). Then they gave me the second code. The first code shows no expiration date. The one I used expired on 12/31/2016 apparently..... though it still worked.

EDIT: CAG16 will not work with the 4 for $10... it just jacks up the prices.

Games are up. Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon and F1 2014.
No sign of Sonic, maybe Thursday?
Hope the other EDFs get added. Is 2025 BC yet?

Where did these codes come from? They don't look like normal coupon codes (if there is such a thing).

F1 2014?

I'm an F1 fan. Currently enjoying F1 2016 after the UGS. Still have 2013 from GWG, as I imagine many do.

So again I say, 2014? Really?

But as far as I know, this is the first time an annual licensed sports series has gone BC.

2 points. 1) It wasn't to save a few bucks. I wanted to kickstart it by trading some Switch games, and also avoid suspicion since I came in with stuff to trade. I spent $350 and after only 2 hours of driving across town twice I had over $1000 in credit. I made far less profit on the Switch games compared to used 3ds games, but it was mostly to give me variety on the trades. I went back for one more run of games back and forth and to use the B2G1 to upgrade to X1S. I get your sentiment, as I don't bother with GCU much anymore and just buy the game digitally if I want it so bad. It would save a few bucks, but driving around and dealing with trade ins busts the deal for me.

2) I still don't understand paying for an oil change. You get more free time, to sit around Jiffy Lube waiting?

Changing oil on a 1969 Chevelle when I was 18 was a hell of a lot easier than changing the oil on a Nissan or Honda at 48 today. Too damn hard to even get to the oil filter nowadays. Sure as hell will pay $20 to not bother with it.

I’m cheap...but lazy.

I haven't changed my own oil in probably 20 years now. Not worth the investment in a ramp, oil wrench, drain pain and having to deal with the used oil.

I can be pretty cheap but this is a service I am glad to let someone else do. I used to use the quick change places till one forgot to screw the filter back on all the way. Switched to a local shop. Cost a bit more but he has hooked me up on other services he has done on my cars. Less then a mile from the house. In better weather I can drop it off on a Saturday morning and walk home. He locks my key in it. Wife drives me back in the afternoon/evening to pick it up.

I tried changing my own a while back and honestly it wasn't working. An hour of my time is worth about $65 dollars. An oil change at my local shop cost 8 dollars if I bring my own oil and filter and they do it for me. It's a no brainer.

I'm going to start working through the AC games, so I think I'm going to buy Brotherhood on the cheap even though I'm sure it'll be given away for free at some point.

Same here. Local shops are the best, especially in smaller towns.

Downside to smaller towns is depending on your distance to civilization, actual video game retailers aren't so close by. I'm about a 25-minute drive from GameStop/Best Buy, which just gives me another reason to go more towards digital.

I am on the outskirts of town. Before I moved here there was an supermarket less then a mile from the house. It is long gone and was replaced by a Whole foods type place. Walmart is 2 miles away. There was a Play and Trade for maybe a year but it was in a parking lot with crappy parking. Never even went there. Lots of other stuff pretty close but other then Walmart no real local option for games.

The mall with two GameStops, Target, Best Buy etc is 20 mins away depending on traffic. Not too far but far enough where sometimes I just don't bother going to the mall for a sale. Certainly not racing there to flip games for a $10 profit. If I can't get the deal on Monday (or free shipping) at the GameStop, Best Buy and Walmart near my job on my lunch hour I just skip it. It has to be a really good deal on something I really want or a really good flip/trade in. Like a few weeks ago with the tech trade in towards a XBox One S.

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to call anybody out specifically, it was really just my surprise that this was a thing. I don't particularly enjoy driving, and I'd rather fall asleep next to a pool, play with the kids, practice guitar, smoke a nice cigar, play videogames, write, get some afterhours work done, roast coffee, yardwork (OK...I wouldn't prefer doing that, but it's a responsibility I need to do), than spend 2hrs in a car in the pursuit of finding the best place to sell games. If that's your thing, and you're making money, and more importantly, you find it worth your time, then I think that's great, and my stupid opinion on it should be meaningless to you. I'm fortunate to be in a spot where I have the disposable income to do things I want to do, and for the most part buy things I want to buy, without budgeting or "depriving" myself of luxuries and pleasures.

On the oil change? The spot I go is downtown in our city, so I can sit there and do office work while I wait, or wander around the city to grab lunch, or eat with the family. But again...it all gets back to my point of value. It's more valuable in my life, to pay someone else to handle it all, so I can do other things that I think are more desirable.

To each their own.

I hear ya man, I've been on this site for 13 years as well,. and it wasn't my to intent insult you. I have no problem with how you choose to spend your time and even if we have differing view points. I'm just surprised that it was a surprise to anyone that these flipping shenanigans appeal to some people on this site.

Regardless, FYE 2004/05 was the golden age of game flipping!!!

Does anyone know if the Xbox 360 will power an external drive such as the WD Easystore via USB?  I assume external is the best/easiest route compared to upgrading the internal drive.

If you want the Darkseid Preorder Bonus for Injustice2, stop by GameStop and give them SKU 148711. It will cost $0. They just close the sale and the code prints out.

PS4 is 131174.
