Even though I got D1 and D2 for PS4 as part of a Humble Bundle, I've never played through them on there (shocker), but with talks of an X upgrade that's a good price to double dip. I almost made it all the way through D1 on 360 and remembering thinking it was really, really good.
 
Played dear ester last night in 1 sitting (it’s short), it’s the only “walking” game I ever got into. Highly reccomend it to eryone. Unless you don’t like feeling sad than stay far away
 
Finished story mode on Van Helsing 3, overall I give it a 6.5, but worthy of a play through. Maybe 10 hours. A few enemies are too much health and took a while to kill in packs especially, I was the mech suit and used my companion as melee and mostly tanky. Fun, really good voice acting, navigation and travel could be improved, I don't regret the time.
 
So here's a unique problem...  I have $20 in Xbox money going expiring this evening.  I was going to pick up Transformers Devastation but it's no longer $10...  So here's my options:

1 month XBL + Farcry 4

1 month XBL + Mass Effect Andromeda + Game of Thrones Telltale

Which do you think I should go with?

Honestly, either of those combinations you will have a good time with. If I were tasked with making that choice though I feel like I'd ultimately go with Far Cry 4. I enjoyed MEA and Telltale's Game of Thrones a lot though too. So either way there really isn't a bad choice to be made. Good luck!

out of all walking sims that's the one you got into?

i thought it was the most pointless, though i did like the music

I'd say to wait until the bonus episode comes out. The prequel's third episode ends approximately a year or two before the events of the first game unfold. There's a specific plot point that's heavily prominent yet never shown in the first game that I've got a feeling will be addressed in the bonus episode. If that happens, then it would be better to play the original, then the prequel.

But as it is right now, without the bonus episode, then playing the prequel first would even make sense.

It's three years before Life is Strange, which makes the timeline kind of weird for me. You would think that with everything that happened it would fit in better maybe a little closer to the original, like maybe a year or so before.

Thanks! It looks like if I'm looking for the most content, it's MEA/GoT. IDK I enjoy the ME games a lot, and I've played FC3 and enjoyed it, so that's where the struggle lies! I pre-ordered MEA but returned it when I saw all the horribad reviews.

Glad to know I can't go wrong with either!

 
Waiting for updates suck ...

Especially when you opened up a BRAND NEW XBOX ONE!

I couldn't pass up Dell's Black Friday deal which had a slim with Gears of War 4 and Super Lucky's Tale for $250.  

Setup has been painless so far; I appreciate the shorter and brickless power cord too.  The controller is nice, although it's odd that the batteries go in sideways. I was surprised they included Duracell batteries and not some generic or "Xbox" branded ones. 

Another 400 MBs and my Xbox One will be updated and ready to go LIVE.

Yes, BTS takes place 3 years before LIS, but BTS seems to span over several months, maybe even a year
At least that's the impression I got from the ending cinematic.

That Darksiders deal is tempting, except Darksiders 2 still has a glitched cheev and is unlikely to ever get patched.  fucking Nordic is a mess with those cheevs.

Being the achievevment whore that I am, that is what is stopping me from getting the bundle. They fixed the cheevo on PS4, but not Xbox?

I think GoT is a solid pick. Of all the Telltale games I've played I liked that one the best because the ending gave you an overall analysis of game play/choices, and compared your overall results to other players overall game choices. But they didn't just show you a screen with some numbers, instead they integrated it as a sort of story prologue.

I know my choices affect the story in Telltale games, but I always want to know how. I want more info than "character xyz will remember that."

I felt like GoT gave me some relief to that intellectual crisis.

I’m such a wuss with games anymore. I started playing RE7 the other nightt and could only get through like an hour before I had to just stop. The blood and story was just getting to me...
 
Forza Horizon 3 expansion pass is all I got from this whole sale. We get it Microsoft, we have backlogs and you want us to play them.

Seems to be the way things are, you’re either that or you are phased by nothing. I fall more in your camp, I barely made it through all dead space games. Those things freaked me out.
 
Well after a little push here this weekend I got to 2,000 achievements for 2017. By far my best year ever. It represents 20% of my total achievements over a 9+ year playing time. That's how I was when I started playing it for the first time I just took it slow and then the environment just grew on me.Also helps to up the contrast and brightness and to look away at moments when you might feel a jump scare is coming.

I can't imagine paying "retail" for a month of Live. Shadow Warrior 1 is $9, 22 the collection. Far Cry 4 is great, I love my CE (that I can brag again I got the statue signed by Troy Baker).
 
My new years resolution is to sell more crack in the trap. Gotta move dem bricks, maaaaane.

Crown Apple is so damn good. This shit gonna turn me into an alcoholic.

Xbox X takes a PS 4 Pro sized shit on the PS 4 Pro.

Dude I gate crown but that Crown Apple is out of this world. Drank that at a pool party a year ago and was sauced the best way possible. Shit is too good.

Getting use to the layout of the Xbox One and I'm noticing there is no way to remove a disc with the controller.

Even the official Xbox One remote doesn't have an eject button. Why would they do this when you could on the 360?

Good thing there is an eject button on the console, but what happens if that stops working?

I'm guessing it was deemed redundant as removing the disc requires being at the console, where you can press the button. As far as the eject button breaking.. that's just too much to sweat about, dude. Don't do that to yourself.

 
Damn it. I fucked up. I had played a game of Garden Ops to just extraction normal but didn't realize planting a doom shroom qualified for that and a few other plant combo achievement. fuck. I just wasted half a day before I knew that. Got an achievement in Hell Yeah - which took some time - Halo: Combat Evolved Aniv, & GTA V before I checked online and saw I had the other achievement with a ratio of 1.67... shit.

Oh well, yes, happy New Year. I also realized I suck at being Master Chief, I'm a bit rusty myself - and fuck those level designs. I also forgot how long loading times were on the 360 with GTAV.
