Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Looks like a couple of posts got deleted overnight. Interesting.

Who’s picking up FC5 tonight?

I'll be picking up FC5 tonight. Forest real far cry game for me, I've only played primal and ppl tell my it's different. Stoked though, can't wait for tonight

Reviews I've seen seem to be people complaining about Far Cry stuff that's just stuff I'm used to so I'm not phased. Paid the full $59.99 and dgaf, I know it'll be worth it.

Cities: Skylines – Xbox One Edition
ClusterTruck
Kingdom: New Lands
Late Shift
Portal Knights
Robocraft Infinity
Sacred Citadel
theHunter: Call of the Wild

Oh wow, Late Shift. That's an FMV movie you can play and make your own decisions. Like a Telltale game, the choices you make rarely impact the story except for who lives or dies, but it's worth checking out since the story is interesting enough and it's like an interactive movie.

Intereseted in The Late Shift, their previous effort "The Bunker" was another FMV game but I'd put it up their with an ok episode episode of The Twlight Zone or these days Black Mirror. Better than it should have been and held my interest more than the last few Telltale series.

When do points get deposited? I have like 20 bucks just sitting there and if there is a sale coming up I would like to have them.

Hopefully a couple cheap games to give away :)

Speaking of I totally forgot to send the winner from last week Horse Game. I'll send it over when I get home  :wall:

It's weird that they're charging for Robocraft Infinity when the original game was free to play.
It’s not much different than F2P mobile games that are ported to console that are then “premium” like the Skyforce games which were freemium originally.

Sounds like it will include at least some of the DLC which is up to $35 on Steam ($120 for a combo pack).

Also, Robocraft Infinity is X enhanced for anyone that was wondering.

Has anyone been getting achievements in Sea of Thieves? I'm still not getting them almost a week later. Beyond unacceptable
They’ve disabled achievements to help handle the server load or some such. They said they should be activated this week when the game gets it’s first patch. The cheevos you’ve earned will pop when you boot the game after it updates.

I hope the next week or two gives us something good - I have 78 cents expiring on 4/4, and i don't want them going to waste.
I have a drawer of Visa gift cards with under $1.00 left on them, it's probably almost $10 at this point and can't figure out a way to use them

Those cards are great for signing up for trial services that require a card on file. That way you don't risk charges on your actual credit cards.

You could load them onto your amazon account. If I remember correctly you can purchase gift cards of any amount to load onto your gift card balance.

Yeah I'm torn on Hellblade, want more of those PS4/PC only 3rd party games but also not much incentive to buy day one

The new game store job paid off well today. I got a fully modded OG Xbox for just $20. 250 gig hard drive and can rip games to it. No need to wait for BC anymore. The updates are great but I think a lot of the stuff I want just won't be coming to the program.
I've had my modded original Xbox for something like eleven years. I have around 150 games on the hard drive from when I kept going to Blockbuster & Hollywood Video and ripping them from the disc. Younger me was relentless. ...I really miss those Friday nights of calling around to see what stores had the new games in stock; Friday was the day of the week that they each got in their new releases.

Its quite fun to go back to the old games, as some really do still hold up. But man, I struggle going back to those controllers - either the Duke or the S. I even bought a third-party controller that actually resembles the 360 controller...but in truth it still doesn't compare to the amazing 360 controller build quality and fantastic layout, much less an Xbox One controller.

I'm going to guess its the Easter/Spring sale.
That makes sense - the timing would be right.

But Microsoft usually hypes their big sales with a short video the Friday before their sales start, so...???

Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best! :)

Wow, I was just talking about how I wish games had first-week or pre-order sales - even small ones - to encourage purchase.

I wish more games did early adopter sales to encourage quick buys. Hand of Fate 2 came out at 10 percent off for the first week or so, which made me feel good about buying it day 1. Even a 5 percent launch sale here would probably push me from a "maybe" to a "yes."

Funny how saving 75 cents would impact my decision...
So I better put my money where my mouth is and buy Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice ;)

I ended up passing on The Count Lucanor. This is cheapassgamer after all. But I'll definitely pick it up the moment I see it go on sale.

I started playing JC3 over the weekend. Picked up the XL edition a couple sales ago for like 11 dollars.

About what I was expecting. I heard loading times were awful, but they seem very fast. Maybe they're better on the X, or they've been patched. They haven't bothered me at all.

The framerate dips are noticeable when a "lot" is going on, but I knew this was an issue going in.

The game has hard crashed on me twice already, though, which is bad.

But I can't stay mad at a game that has this cutscene:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Jbvuq3a404

Not going to get my hopes up but it could potentially be a good week if we get a spring sale, April GwG announcement and some new BC games. Hopefully the GwG I don't have in the backlog and BC I already own but knowing my luck I will already own at least half the GwG. I also preordered Far Cry 5 gold digitally; it's $10 cheaper than physical and I got Microsoft gift cards at 20% off so it's almost the same as gamersclub with a reward certificate.

If you use one and it’s empty I could use the card info if you don’t mind. My friend needs a payment method on file to redeem his free 360 games every month but doesn’t want to put his actual cards on file. I believe those cards work to get the job done.

It’s funny reading some of the FC5 reviews. It’s generally getting good ratings but sometimes you feel like these people are playing two different games with one praising an aspect of the game and another trashing that same aspect.

A few I read say it has the best story yet while others say it’s the worst. Polygon called it “horrible”.

Ah, screw reviewers, I’ll make my own decision.

Finally got around to getting a 4k television (TCL 55 P605) and the thing is huge.  Now to just upgrade my OG xbox one into an Xbox One X and see all the visuals I've been missing.

Any thoughts that it'd dip in price before/after E3?  Or should I just grab it sooner?

You get a lot of that on N4G when a game first releases. It’s basically clickbait to draw more traffic and generate money. It’s like being the one jerkoff saying something extremely popular and hyped sucks so everyone will raise a brow and come to see what the fuss is about.

I'm finding the reviews very interesting even the Polygon one and I could kind of agree with it, I'm hoping for a story that really pushes things that might offend and it's seeming to just ride in the middle. I'm seeing no complaints about the actual game play/mechanics though so that bodes well.

The Visa Vanilla card works fine for this. I have one with a cent or two on it.

Those times when you use a Redbox coupon and it still comes to $.50 or so might work.
Not sure if it differs by state or not but where I am in NY those cards will not work at all with Redbox. Even for purchasing games. It will go through online but reject you when you get to the box. Basically, the protection put in place to keep you from using them to rent games also prevents you from using them for purchases.

good idea! by pre-ordering, can we pre-load the game before it's playable?

My 65" Samsung MU8000 was delivered today and it is great. I will need to play with the settings more but I could not be happier. Well the blacks could be a little better but for the price I paid I am cool with it.

Edit: I also hit my 3 year achievement streak anniversary today.

A drop to $399 wouldn't surprise me for e3 depending how much they want to push, I saw yesterday if you're in the Great Lake States that Meijers is doing the $50 off the Xbox One S again

Well we are 15 mins out from the potential spring sale start. The only weird thing is doesn't major Nelson usually announce it prior to it starting?

Cool- makes me feel a bit better holding off until I get the $$$ allocated properly

Not always. Regardless, we should all put our eggs in a basket and anticipate this will be one of the best sales ever like we usually do and have those expectations obviously exceeded!

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess its just those sales ending early. The Technomancer and The Surge sales still have 14 hours left on them.

Hope I'm wrong though.  Happy to be wrong.

They do work for that purpose, but why would anyone hand one of these over to a stranger? They’re still registered to someone with personal info if they’ve been set up to use online...Also, I don’t support virtual panhandling. Hey man, you got any spare change? Oh, not for me, man, I’m just askin’ for a friend....

How 'off' is 4 p.m. Eastern? Could it be because (most of) Europe advanced their clocks one hour over the weekend?
This just puts us EDT people back at -5 hours from the time on Big Ben. But it shouldn't shift UTC. I'm thinking the countdown uses epoch time or Linux time, which is UTC based. A la we would still see sales counting down to 8 pm EDT. They can't change UTC, but they can change the countdown time to whatever they want.

The only redeeming quality about Mondays is they are the day I typically go to Schlotzsky's for lunch.  And today I found out they were out of my favorite chips and their prices went up.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess its just those sales ending early. The Technomancer and The Surge sales still have 14 hours left on them.

Hope I'm wrong though.
14 hours is also wayyyy past the normal 7 EST sale start. But alas, we’ll see what goodness Bloomy brings any second now...

Also, PSN has had three 20% off coupons available in the last week. Wish MS would do something like that. Would make a FC5 digital purchase all that much more alluring.
