Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

If I take advantage of the GameStop 20% bonus for digital currency, do get a code for the value of my trade or do I have to buy the $10/25/50 retail cards?

Jesus Christ, you’re buying a game, not a house or a car....I would hate to be in line behind this guy at a restaurant while he weighs his lunch decisions.
It's not about buying the game, it's about how to properly enjoy its atmospheric-ness to its fullest as the devs had intended.

The wingsuit in 4 was a pretty wonky as well. I haven't run into that one yet, but those events are pretty fun so far.
The car one I did was pretty fun and did it in one go. The wing suit one I had to do for like 20 minutes. It was going down a cliff (that had an outcropping underneath the jump spot that I hit like 1/4 the time before the winguist fully deployed) into a ravine that I'd constantly hit the walls of trying to navigate.

I would hazard a guess to say that it's COMPLETELY off right now. Work is actually taking up a bunch of my energy for once. :)
Jesus Christ, you’re just running a lemonade stand, not performing surgery. I would hate to have to listen to this guy complain about his day filling paper cups and taking nickels...

Eneloops are amazing and I've enjoyed using them for years now.  They won't charge by plugging in the xbox controller - you'd need Play and Charge for that.

I use this charger which is a terrific all-purpose charger: https://www.amazon.com/Crosse-Technology-BC700-CBP-Battery-Charger/dp/B000RSOV50/  The only feature it's missing is 'battery rescue' for dying/dead batteries that show less than .05 volts.  In that case, bridging the terminals with a good battery for 5-10 seconds will often give a defunct battery the kick it needs to register, but I have found that batteries in this situation are dying anyway and I usually just replace/recycle them.

I do get more than 6 hours use in the controller, but if the mAh rating is the same, I wouldn't lay money on the eneloops lasting longer than other brands necessarily.  I will say this: eneloops will perform at the top of their rating class at least.

It's not about sitting in the heat and swatting flies, it's about being able to charge more over time for the same product as the founding fathers intended.

Thanks for judging me in advance. (Your sarcasm has been noted.)

Yeah I'm highly detailed and very alytical, and a lot of people don't like that. I believe in Leibnitz priciple of sufficient reason, including but not limited to why a specific game is awesome, what drew me to that game, and why it stands apart from other games.

But that makes very fast in getting shit done because I've already weighed all possible options before I've even hit the que. I'm the fucking kisatz haderach of odering food, making purchases, and checking out. I have no questions to jam up service lines with because I already no all the information necessary to execute my plan. In fact I'm impatient and want murder anyone in line in front of me that has a question. I hate people that wander around confused and oblivious as to how they got there.

So yeah there's a long and convoluted reason why I picked out these three apparently unassociated items at the grocery store. But I'm getting in and out in under 4.25 minutes. And yes I want to kill that lady in front of me who has 8 items in the 7 item lane and can't find her debit card in her purse so she reaches for the checkbook in her bloated baby elephant sized wallet.

You forgot to include ‘highly sensitive and defensive’😀Seriously though, anytime someone mentions ‘being judged’, I wonder how they get by in the world.

Did you ever watch a mixer stream a few months ago? Can’t remember if it was for a game expo, but they had a mixer bag with that game included.

Skip the S and just go for the X! You won’t regret it!
I know right, but I don't have the extra $250 to plop down on the X...but I do have the extra $75 for the S.

Plus ev'one has said that if you don't have a 4K tv, don't get the X. I don't have a 4K tv so that's why I gave the specs on my cpu monitor. Some people say high dynamic contrast ratio is the same as high dynamic range but I dunno if that's correct.

Can’t say from experience since I’ve only used it with 4K but from what I’ve heard it gives a significant boost even on 1080p. Definitely has a performance boost for loading times and frame rates.

All of the xbox one links in the spring sale post, like this one for example

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/redirect.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.microsoft.com%2Fen-us%2Fstore%2Fp%2F1%2Fc4f7zhln6b2j&pid=13971082

and on storeparser the links to microsoft display the same error message. i tried with chrome and safari, is it just me?
Is it working for you now? I have been off & on since the forst day of the sale & it's been fine for me. I have had problems with mobile redirecting me too many times before & the site blocked me until I just deleted all of my cookies & temporary files in Chrome/Edge (it's happened with both).

Trying to decide if trading in some of these game to GS for Xbox credit and paying a few more dollars extra to go digital is worth it? Most of the games I have would cost me an extra $3-5 after trading them in to buy the digital version. I am not sure eating that cost for convenience is worth it. It is nice to just turn the system on and select a game to play though.

I've been a fan of Team Ninja since DoA3 but Nioh looks like too much for me. My friend is really into Dark Souls and he said the same thing as you.
I liked Dark Souls, played Demon Souls, Dark Souls (only 1 I finished), & bought Dark Souls 3 but still haven't touched it, so I'm not a fanatic of Souls games, but I loved Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2. I say that because Nioh is amazing in my opinion. One of my favorite games this generation. It definitely has some inspiration from NG & Dark Souls, as well as some copied mechanics from Dark Souls, but that doesn't make it feel like Dark Souls at all to me. It stands on it's own merit, as far as I'm concerned. Definitely worth getting a ps4 to play the great exclusives (uncharted, nioh, neir automata, Shadow of the Colossus remake, Horizon, valkyria chronicles remastered, among many others for me) one day, if at all possible for you.

I know it was an E3 Mixer and possibly GWG a few months ago

Pretty sure it was the mixer giveaway we got rare replay with at the same time
thanks guys. i found more info on TA where it solved another mystery game THE FINAL STATION

I say no if you're still having to pay extra. If it was an even trade, or if you got money back, then I definitely would. It is convenient, for sure, but I don't think it's thay convenient, to lose that much per title. If it waa $5-$10 overall, a different story, but several dollars per title to convert is just not worth it, IMHO, unless you have money to burn. I mainly buy digital when it's inconvenient for me to get out to a B&M near a game's release day (I no longer preorder online), but I usually regret it later when I have no HDD space, have reched my ISP data cap, or want to let someone borrow the game or sell it.

Thanks for confirming that, I'd rather do Play and Charge.
Huh. my logitech gaming mouse came with an eneloop battery and charges by plugging in to a usb port. But I guess I didn't expect my Xbox controller to do that. And I never really expected logitech to make proprietary batteries / battery packs.

Today, MS Rewards started depositing my Xbox credit to my account instead of emailing me a code. That means no more selling the codes, or using multiple accounts to redeem rewards. That sucks.

Oh crap, I saw that notice this morning when selecting a new goal. It didn't hit me what that means till I read your post. I have 3 extra accounts that has no use for now.

I was wanting to redeem points from another account to go ahead & get southpark FBW, (need $10) and realized I couldn't combine the 2 acct balances. I could only add that account to my xbox & buy stuff separately with that account, & I could still play it (at least I'm pretty sure I could, but I don't need any $10 games, & I'm not going to do that). Also, people that sell them are gonna be pissed too.

Is the $9.99 for 3 months bugged? It showed up earlier, but maybe it's because I wasn't logged in & it's only for new users? Either of those true about the $9.99 price?

Well, I didn't think I would see anything else I'd want from the Spring sale. Saw that SSX and MoH Airborne 360 are on sale (maybe on those) and will definitely buy Project Cars GotY for XB1.

Edit: In other news, glad I already have COD4: MW physical. No telling what prices will be like with it going BC.

Thinking of upgrading from a VCR to an S but don't know if I will see any visual improvements playing on a 22" Dell Gaming monitor (8 Million to 1 High Dynamic Contrast Ratio, Full HD and 6 ms response time). Any thoughts? I already have a "current" controller. But with the GS offer of $175 for my 1 TB VCR, it would be just $75 to upgrade to the 1 TB S that comes with Sea of Thieves.

Thanks in advance!
I think it worth it if your console is even a couple years old. Those things don’t last forever.

Thanks for the help...awp as well!

I'm going to do the upgrade. But I was wondering...I know all my game saves are on the cloud (even though I don't have Gold), but for the digital games I have, do I need to delete them from the hard drive and do a "factory reset" before trading the console in? Or can I just do a factory reset and when I sign in to the new console under my profile, just re-download my digital games. Sorry for dumb questions but this last year is my first time on a MS console since the OG Xbox back in 2003.

Thanks again for the advice.

Honestly your montior isn't going to have the HDR that the S is going to offer anyway, I find that a biggger difference than the 4k in some situations. You would see some faster load times and some performance boosts with the S.

Today, MS Rewards started depositing my Xbox credit to my account instead of emailing me a code. That means no more selling the codes, or using multiple accounts to redeem rewards. That sucks.

Don't really have anything to redeem right now but was looking at $3 Xbox one gift card and it said it was going to email me a digital code and showed the email for the account. Really sucks if it won't work anymore as my main email is banned by MS rewards. You could still play the games but you might have to muck about with settting your home console to the other account. Have a game share partner so that's a no go for me.

Couldn't you buy gamestop credit or amazon credit and convert to xbox credit?
Yeah, but newer accounts cost 6500 points for all ofher giftcards & 4650 for MS funds. My original acct only costs 5250 for Amazon etc, but it still takes way longer that way. Honestly if I did that, I wouldn't get xbox credit.

I was talking about whatever game inspired that novel about whether it could truly be enjoyed as intended without the proper headphones.
Oh hellblade. I have it on ps4. I got it because I like the sound engineering, the psychosis concept, and the strong female lead character. I'm gonna wait until it hits $20 or below to double dip on Xbox.

It's still called Xbox $x gift card digital code (Microsoft or Xbox gift cards both say same thing), but thus is what the fine print says:
NEW! Microsoft Rewards has enabled direct deposit. Now when you redeem points for an Xbox Gift Card the value will be directly deposited into your Microsoft account. You’ll no longer receive a code in your inbox that you’ll have to take to Microsoft.com to apply yourself. We’ll only email you to confirm when the value is ready for you to spend. When you confirm your order for a Xbox Digital Gift, you agree to its full value being added to your Microsoft account. Subject to the Microsoft Gift Card terms.

You'll still get an enail but it says it's been deposited in your account instead of code, though it still has a confirmation code.

They will make you login so they can test it. Don't think the wipe takes very long (PS4 takes a while).

Maybe wipe it and log back in before going to the store. Then make sure they wipe it in store after testing.

Hey, actually, my other phone with a different account actually still says it emails the code also, so you may be good. My only problem is that I didn't notice if the wording had changed before I redeemed it, or afterward, because I just thought it was business as usual, so I didn't pay close attention. It sucks because I don't have enough go buy anything in this one. Wait, I do. I'm gonna buy a $3 one & I'll let you know if it changes after I redeem, or if it sends me the email

EDIT: it sent me the email on this account. That's messed up. I know in the past the accounts have had some differences now that I think about it- sometimes one of my accounts didn't have ability to buy the $5 gift card, only $3 or $10, for several months in a row. Darn, I wish I knew what triggered this so I could have possibly prevented the change until I cashed in my points for Xbox. After that, I'll just get other stuff but I wanted some things in this spring sale.

the big thing with a trade is just make sure you take your gamertag and anything with personal information off first, the actual game downloads don't matter

I redeemed a $3 Microsoft order earlier today + it sent an email as usual. Had to manually enter the code to redeem it.

So I was a little nervous using $20 in credit on Cars 3, but its actually a pretty fun couch multiplayer racer. Obviously it's no Mario Kart, but I would argue that it may be one of the better kart games on the One
