Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

That's a lot of Resident Evil, I never knew it was played this much - for so many games to be out.

Which pick can you guys steer me to? Is there a clear superior between 4, 5, and 6?
4 is still the modern standard, and until RE7 the controls and style of the sequels all mimicked RE4. RE5 is a more action-oriented game which pissed off a lot of survival horror fans when it came out, but it's still a fun game, especially if you have someone to play co-op with. RE6 is a game most people want to forget exists, but it has its fans.

The Origins games (RE and Zero remake) are great, and the original game still holds up very well. These remakes have new control schemes for the younger crowd who can't make sense of the tank controls.

If you only buy one, buy RE4.

Well this is kind of a bummer:

Xbox Live Rewards is becoming Microsoft Rewards
In June, your account will automatically switch over to Microsoft Rewards in the United States.

  • All current Xbox Live Rewards offers must be completed and you must unlock any new MyVIP Perks by May 31, 2018 23:59 UTC, as all offers will be ending as of that time.
  • You will then have until June 15, 2018 23:59 UTC to claim any open MyVIP Perks and redeem your MyVIP Gems for prizes in the MyVIP Vault.
  • If you do not want your account to automatically transfer to Microsoft Rewards, you must opt-out of Xbox Live Rewards here by June 15, 2018.
  • For more information on the change, please visit our FAQs.
I was hoping that Australia was going to get some of the things America had, guess that wont happen now.

If it is going to be the same as the Australia Microsoft Rewards it is really pulled back for what you can earn points from.

I was banned for a few years from Bing Rewards, and was able to get my Microsoft Rewards account activated after contacting support late last year. Take that for what it's worth.

I bought this earlier, but I can't tell if it is the Premium version or not:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/battlefield-1-early-enlister-deluxe-edition-xbox-one/5262100.p?skuId=5262100

Thoughts?
I don't think you're getting all the DLC with that just some weapon crates and skins, the one with all the stuff Revolution is only $25 at most places

Yeah maybe it was thought out well enough there will just be a general anmesty for all those Xbox login emails, but probaly not

How did you guys get banned?
clicking on too much Bing, I can assure you I can barely handle the commenting system here much less come up with some script to have a robot do bing searches for me

edit this was years ago, I think it's capped at 150 points for search or something

I got banned because i was using multiple accounts. Got my xbox email and like 3 or 4 i made for getting points. Disappointing to see xbox rewards become microsoft rewards. Never did figure out the gems or where to see how many i have.

The Xbox rewards haven’t been rewarding for me in a while. I’m not spending $100 a month to get a $5 rebate from the missions. The best days for me were the brief time you could get 1000 points for playing new GWG for 10 hours while they were free. You bet I left my Xbox idling overnight to farm that.

What exactly did you say or ask? Just a "uh, can you guys unban me?"
I don't remember exactly, but basically I just said I'd never had a Microsoft Rewards Account before. Which is true since it was Bing Rewards when I was banned. :whistle2: I got a reply saying something along the lines of having their team look into it and they would get back to me in a few days. They did, and I had access to my account. The person was quite friendly the entire time. And probably the only time I have had a smooth experience with MS support.

Just got back from seeing Ready Player One (in a regular theater using Movie Pass). Awesome movie. Great if you like video games and even better if you grew up in the 80s. Box checked on both counts for me!

I will be buying a lot less games digitally now that XBox rewards is going away.  I really enjoyed getting 10% back on my purchases each month.  Sounds like MS is cutting back on deals a lot lately.  It was good while it lasted.

If I'm calculating correctly, I think it's close to the same.

It says we get 100 points per $1 spent with gold. A $10 purchase is 1,000 points. If you're "Level 2",a $5 gift card is 4,650 points. So 1,000 points would worth be a little than $1. Hence, 10% of the $10 purchase.

Confusing and a bit more of a pain but hopefully not too bad.

Welp, FC5 is very good. Nothing terribly new or interesting, but a very solid, well-made game. $40 well spent.
I like it because it seems like a cross between Far Cry and Just Cause. A little crazier than typical FC games with things like those plane races. More focus in destruction like JC too.

And damn is it beautiful to look at.

It appears that this runs through 12/31, when the this portion of the program will end. They seem to be offering the 100/$1 deal to provide a comparable return through the phaseout.

Cars 2 is a decent game, a lot of the achievements are easy to get, with cars and Brave the disney GwG have been pretty solid
Funny enough it's the 360 games that have had me most interested. That Brave game was solid. Got the full 1000gs. Basically just leveled up my bow and played the game like a twin stick shooter lol. Thanks to whoever recommended it. I highly recommend watching the movie first. It explains the story and makes the game that much more fun.

Quantum Conundrum is another solid puzzle game along with The Witness which I had already bought on sale since it got so many rave reviews.

I think the Level 2 status goes through 12/31. That applies to the cost of gift cards but don’t think it’s a gigantic difference. Even so, I also don’t think Level 2 is that hard to attain.

I hope the gift cards get restocked on xbox rewards. I have 1690 gems, which is worth $30 in rewards credits or $35 in visa cards. If that's converted to 1 Microsoft reward point per a gem, that is about half a $3 gift card.

I'd rather spend the gems on DLC I might not use than get the gems converted to basically nothing.

It's definitely a tad more chaotic, and it's better for it.

I liberated a base, and was given a mission 2200+km away, figured I'd get to it later. Realized there was a helicopter on the base, flew to the mission, finished it. Later, a guy on an ATV looking like the villain from Fury Road chases me down in the woods and starts burning down the forest with a flamethrower. This definitely isn't Far Cry 3.

Also, the dog. Truly the latest in good boy technology.

I heard if the dog gets KO'd in battle you can run over and administer belly rubs to revive.

Also the bear can knock people into low Earth orbit.

Yep, they knew people would be too upset if the dog could be killed or hurt too bad. Oddly enough, my first major glitch was encountered on the mission where you rescue him.

This is not a spoiler, but I'm using tags for anyone who wants to go in totally blind, since the game is 5 days old. Otherwise, read away about glitchy dog death:

He's in a cage, and when you open it, you have to pet him to make friends. Except, he just kept barking at nothing, and the pet prompt wasn't coming up. I even looked it up on Youtube to see what I was doing wrong, but it was just glitched. But if he gets KO'd before this point, reviving him with a belly rub counts as pets to make friends. But the game wouldn't let me pet him...

Soooo I had to shoot him to death and revive him to make friends. Woof.

Ran into a glitch on Far Cry and can't get the Faith boss fight to start. I got the 13,000 resistance points I needed to start the fight but everything I'm reading online says that it should start automatically. Even the NPCs are making comments about Faith being "gone." I've put 20+ hours in so far and I'm gonna be pissed if I have to start over.

Kind of bummed about the end of XBox Live Rewards. I just snagged another 400+ gems over the last 2 weeks. I hope we still get birthday perks, that free meal at Denny's doesn't cut it.

Now I just need to find $1500 in stuff to buy by (he said bye-bye) 5/31/2018 23:59 UTC so I can be grandfathered in at top tier and get 100 ms rewards points per $1 spent. That equates to 10% @ 1000 ms points per $1 ms credit. Better than 10% back if there's hot item sale of 7000 ms points per $10 ms credit.

Scared they'll leave visa gift cards and XBL currency out of stock in the Vault and force us to buy junk or convert gems.

2 things I'll miss are pretty meaningless.

(1) my badges and ranking - now I'll never get to be an overlord.

(2) getting 2 gems per 1000 gs increase - I think this equated to roughly a nickel in xbox credit ... might have been wooden, not sure.

Overall, I knocked out 9 games this last month. But it doesn't help considering I bought more than 9 and most of these weren't even in the in the backlog.

Anyone play Gravel? Saw Best Buy has it on sale for $32 with GCU. Reviews are mediocre but I do like my arcade racers.

It has a demo, I would check that out. My impressions are if it ever gets Triple-Screen support (I'm a mostly PC player) and it gets under $20 I'll pick it up.

It was fun for what it was. I never felt it was worth a full $60 retail title and I don't think it's worth $32 either. I would wait for a $20 price point.

I rented it from Family Video and 1000/1000 the game in 5 days, although the ending achievements were a huge grind. Generally speaking you'll complete the career mode by level 60, the final achievement is grinding it out to 99 so that takes awhile.

That sucks Xbox Live Rewards is going away. Most of the rewards did nothing for me since I stopped buying Xbox content years ago, but I was fine getting $0.25 a month from simply doing their surveys.

And somehow I have close to 500 gems. Every time I checked the $5.00 Visa gift card was out of stock. I wondered if they went in and out of stock, or if Xbox Live Rewards already handed out all of those rewards that they intended.

Well, if gems are valued at $0.02 each then with my current Xbox Live Rewards points I'll get around $12 in Xbox credit when the change happens.

I signed up for Xbox Live Rewards at the beginning. I earned $75 credit through it. But again, after 2013 I only got rewards for doing the surveys.

Oh, now I see how I got all those gems. You get two for doing surveys, and a lot for your birthday and your Xbox Live Rewards anniversary. I just got an extra 20 gems for doing a consecutive amount of surveys.
