Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

The Free to Play challenge on Xbox Rewards just changed mid-month into something completely different where you get entries for some sweepstakes for every 15 minutes you play F2P games after registering for this new thing from today until 2/12:

https://rewards.xbox.com/en-US/freedom-rewards/play-a-thon/#instructions

Once you surpass 20 hours, you get double entries per 15 minutes.

Edit: I guess it didn't change, but there's an additional mission under the same Freedom Rewards name.

Just when I tell myself I'm going to do Lee's f2p gaming in 2018. Augh
Registered because I'm still playing Gems of War daily.

Is this the first time FC Instincts Predator has ever been on sale?!
I'm really hoping this becomes BC soon. My favorite Xbox 360 game and the best FC game for multiplayer. FC2 had good competitive multiplayer, but lacked the charm of FCIP. 3 and 4 were just sad compared to 1 and 2. The multiplayer amazing thanks to the map editor that kept the game alive much longer than it should have. Had the charm of Halo 2 custom games with the community creating their own game types. Sadly this kind of fun will probably never happen again thanks to party chat. One of my favorites was Xombies

There was offcial zombies game type, so the community made Xombies. Random person is chosen to be the first zombie while in the lobby. After 1 or 2 minutes, the zombie was allowed to kill. While not a requirement, the zombies could waste all their ammo to have their machete alway equipped.if you died in any way, you become a zombie (team killed, suicide, died from zombie). You could only hear other players when they were near or you were looking at them with your binoculars (led to some funny moments of people talking to themselves when they thought nobody was around). Xombie maps were great because, while there were items scattered throughout the map, the majority of items were split into two categories and found on opposite sides of the map. Health would be in one side. Guns and ammo would be on the other. This forced players to not camp in one area for too long.

The fun was spawning completely spread out and trying to find other survivors while making sure you knew who was a zombie because they looked alive. You had to stay with the group while making sure everyone had a good amount of health/weapons.

Maps had multiple paths between the health/weapons. The shorter paths were quicker, but had more places for zombies to ambush you.

I loved how well the map designs and game mode worked perfectly.

The puzzle maps/obstacle courses were the absolute best. I even made a few myself that I'm quite proud of, but they are nowhere near as good as the best map makers. Some puzzle maps were co-op and required you to play them with a partner, but most were solo. Dying is very easy in this game, so if you died after playing a course map for several hours, it was very disheartening. On the other hand, finishing a course map after several hours felt better than unlocking an achievement.

If I didn't already put my saves in the cloud in anticipation for FCIP going BC, I might hook up the 360 just to do so. Shouldn't get my hopes up, but I really want FCIP to be BC.

Big sale, but 90% of the games I've never heard of, the rest I either already own, already played on my tablet, or am not interested in. Which is good since I'm broke as hell at the moment.

Interesting, too bad Pinball FX 3 isn't in the eligible titles at least from what i see. Makes less sense since they have Pinball FX 2.

So there are three different groups for the sweepstakes. The yellow badge halfway down or so on the page will have one two or three lines around it putting you in one of the three groups. In the group im in (3 lines) I get one entry per hour up to 80 hours then double after that. The grand prize, 1st and 2nd prizes are the same for everyone. Each group then has its own set of prizes which I’ll paste from the rules page below. Lastly you can win only one of the global prizes but up to 23 prizes from your group.

Global Prizes:
ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE: Samsung 55” QLED 4K TV; Xbox One X Console; Two (2) Xbox Wireless Controllers; 12-month Game Pass; and 12-month Xbox Live Gold. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $2,598.85. TAX GROSS UP PAYMENT: Sponsor will also provide winner a single cash payment in the form of a corporate check, which is intended to assist the winner with any federal, state, or other tax obligations related to the Grand Prize (the “Tax Gross-Up Payment”). The Tax Gross-Up Payment will be $1,113.65. The Grand Prize winner’s actual tax liabilities related to the Grand Prize could exceed the Tax Gross-Up Payment. The Grand Prize winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state, or other tax obligations related to the Grand Prize. I'll buy it again when this version hits ~$20. Replies are all people whining about S-E wanting more money, but I'm really happy to see them supporting the game and working to introduce new content. This is what I was hoping for Andromeda.

The 'Royal Edition' will also be available as a $20 digital upgrade to existing copies, which includes all season pass content plus a new dungeon and some other things.

Forza Horizon 3 One X update is SWEEEET. Didn't encounter hitching/stuttering or weird lighting as some mentioned. Just nice, pretty Australia.

The upgrade isn't life changing, but it's certainly noticeable if you've played it unenhanced. It doesn't really suffer from "For Honor" syndrome in that the original version looked so good already that it's almost difficult to see the improvement, even though it did look great before.

Shadows, reflections, and resolution were all obviously enhanced to my eyes. As much as I liked it originally, the baked-in shadows in the forest area always looked way too blocky.

Don't buy a One X to play this, but if you're not already a One owner, try to save for a One X and resist the many deals for a One S, and then get FH3 if you have a remote interest in racing games or liked other open world racers like Burnout Paradise.

HELL YES I’m for soda drinker pro!! Who else wants a copy? Like and I’ll pick someone later (prolly just kristaps though, give em something else to complain about 😛)

All this time I thought everyone was just joking about this game. Finally read a few reviews. It sounds like the kind of game I would play for a few hours with my kids while they make burp and fart jokes. Might be a good time methinks.

I Think my biggest gripe is I already own the season pass and I don't technically feel like getting the season pass again.

The final fantasy royal pack contain the DLC for sure? The royal edition contains dlc, but the wording on royal pack says all the new cont. I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t include DLC

Yeah. If I had bought the pass or the deluxe edition, I might be a little salty. Season pass holders should get a $5 upgrade for Royal IMHO.
That would be nice, but then again rarely do I play through a JRPG and think to myself "man, I wish this was even longer!" Worst comes to worst if this turns out to be a hoot or game changer in terms of how the game is played, I'll just get it on PS4 when it's on the hella cheap. Plus once more, huge backlog, but completionist in is agitated I basically don't have "the full game".

Every gaming news outlet has "includes season pass" as one of the bullet points.

I noticed in the Major's post more games than were listed here... one being a Broken Sword game.  I'm kinda torn about this...

I remember buying the first game for $5 at an Electronics Boutique way back when it was originally called "Circle of Blood" and enjoyed the first 2 or 3 games but fell off.

I don't know if I want to just pick up the 5th one for $6 or not.

Will also probably pick up that Betham game based upon you guys's recommendation.

Far Cry 2 going BC and this week's Far Cry franchise sale adds up to me. Seems pretty intentional. All leading up to Far Cry 5.

Makes sense to me. But seeing I haven't completed 2 & 3 is it really worth it to pull the trigger on 4 & Primal? Not that I don't want to, but keep thinking by the time I'm finished playing the games I have now, the the latter games in the series will be cheaper.

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! I could solve 95% of my life's dilemmas if I had $100,000,000. I'd say say $1,000,000, but inflation and rise in cost of living, etc.

So the Royal Edition has all the DLC an what else?

Guess I'll be playing some Paladins this week noticed those rewards. DOA is apparently on the list as well.

For the free to play thing, can you just let your console idle in game in and have it count?
I hope so, cause I just left that stupid FF prequel game running into a wall while I do some grocery shopping. If it doesn't count, I'll try a game that let's you progress while idle - sounds like Clicker Heroes would work.

I picked up Axiom Verge, Edith Finch, and Little Nightmares for the Being Dr Rewards. I got one cheevo in LM, then 100%'d EF, but my rewards tracker is still stuck at one cheevo. Ugh, this is the worst reward challenge ever. Play the games I bought? I don't buy games to play them, I buy them because they're on sale and it makes my backlog look cool to be full of hit indie games. Get a clue, M$.

Got Super Hot, alot of things on sale this week. Does anyone know how much it is to reach lvl 5 star in rewards to get 10% off?

Edit: found my answer after digging $1800 to reach lvl 5 right now I'm at 90+% lvl 4. I need help I've spent since 1/1/17 $1937.99

Korea has Kalimba & Powerstar Golf for free.

Go go go
I thought you had to change your region to get these, or is that only on the console itself? I didn't feel like taking the chance in the past but after getting early access to the destiny 2 beta (I think) without a problem from another region and hearing so many other people say they downloaded the free games, I went for it. Thanks.

So an interesting thing has happened with Driver: SF.  I never owned the game digitally but I had a Uplay Passport I redeemed when I did own the game physically. Well it turns out the game is in my ready to download list. I will update if it is playable without the disk.

Edit: Yep it works.

Microsoft already said there would be no penalties for switching regions. So like he said go go go! I’ve done it a lot, no problem!

I’ll he home from work around 10 and I’ll pick a winner than. Anyone know a good randomized site?

Halo 5 for $16 is tempting. I already have the disc but prefer digital in this instance. Disc doesn’t trade for much either.

Checked and no go for me...guessing this was back in my day of never redeeming those uplay inserts.

Yeah. If I had bought the pass or the deluxe edition, I might be a little salty. Season pass holders should get a $5 upgrade for Royal IMHO.
I just purchased the digital deluxe version to get the season pass with the benefit of no longer needing the disc during the holiday sale. I am a little salty about this. I didnt need it digitally but with the season pass being 25 dollars it made sense at the time. Now 20 bucks could have gotten everything plus all the new content im not getting.

Also a little salty, but hoping the upgrade will be cheaper by the time I finish all the content. Barely touched it so far.
