On the Major Nelson list of digital games for sale, what does Arcade and Games On Demand mean?

Because others are clearly called Backward Compatible, so when I started buying games, I thought the ones listed as arcade or games on demand meant they weren't BC, but now I see that's not always the case.

I'm just kinda confused, I want Modern Warfare 3 but it's listed as games on demand and I didn't notice it on store parser when the sale hit...

You are correct. Major Nelson posted the sale info this week prior to MW3 being BC so he listed it as Games on Demand instead of BC.

If you look here, they are classified in further detail. Games on Demand was 360 speak for full games on the marketplace that usually had a disc version as well. Arcade were closer to Indie-ish releases that were often only in digital format. Of course, there are exceptions due to price-based decisions and region-based content.

Long time lurker. Wanted to say thanks to Bloomy for posting the sales. And to the other people who are giving away games. Great to see the niceness on an Internet forum.

Just finished far cry 5 and it was an ok game by myself but maybe the most fun I have had when I co op’ed the game. I would highly recommend if you can play with a friend.

Hey, I agree with you. I was simply stating that MW3 had been on sale multiple times at $10. But when it was listed this week at $15, on its own (no sale for the other MW games or any CoD game for that matter), it was pretty evident to me at least, that it was going BC.

I wonder if MW2 is being kept out of the BC program because of the No Russian mission.

It looks like the 90 days Pro sub for Mixer from the above promotion has come through. I noticed I was Pro and was trying to figure out how I got it.

The above links don't work anymore, but the one below does. The note on the free subs is toward the bottom of the page, and mentions that they weren't able to grant the Pro subs right away, but the channel subs did go through on the June 1 and expire on July 1.

We need to get the people that were meme-ing on every BC post to release CoD Black Ops 2, to start spamming about purchasing 360 games with credit. If they really want BC to be a core part of the platform, they need to get the store fixed.

Nier Automata looks cool and I almost want to buy it to support these games coming to Xbox Town, but my backlog and Dark Souls addiction say to wait.

That Darkest Dungeon DLC looks cool, announce an Xbox release date damnit! Also, just release it now!

I'm going back and forth on nier and the crew 2. Would probably play both of them on release but can't make up my mind. I have the credit, but I also have the backlog. Just have heard such good things about nier and agree with supporting it to show similar games coming to xbox wouldn't be a waste.

Damn, didn't know this! When I check store parser and see a game on sale for a percentage more than it was already on sale, my rule is usually to say screw that and wait for it to eventually go to the lower price. I couldn't find the game on store parser so had no idea its already been cheaper, guess I should have figured but thought $15 was a deal for a new BC game. Oh well.

Depending on the build you want you can pick a build at the beginning and then change it to your liking as you play. I'd also check the Reddit Darksouls board they have some good help there.

 
So if I never got the mixpot should bother messaging customer service? Has anyone had luck with that or do they give a BS response?

My roommate just saw the message and preorder for outer wilds and I never got it. I put it on his xbox half an hour after putting it on my xbox so it's weird that one of us got it and not the other.

Just made a post myself.

I had to contact them about a month ago because I mistyped my email address in the redemption pop up on the rewards page (just email it to the email linked to my account) and I remember it took a couple of days for them to respond.

Considering they didn't alter the level system, you won't want to go blind for the first playthrough since you can't respec. They also didn't alter any starting class stats so Pyro is still the best starting class because it has the highest stat allocation for its level and doesn't lock you into any particular build that wastes stat points. Most builds are based around a SL126 goal, so typically you're looking at 40 VIT, 40 END as a baseline, then 40 into either STR, DEX, INT, or FAITH depending on your build. Put zero points in resistance and humanity, useless stats. If you do go a magic build, you'll need to factor some points into ATT to have more slots for spells; don't go overboard though since 4-7 slots are plenty. Other than that, just pay attention to what weapon you want to wield endgame and make sure your stats support it with whatever minor stat is required.

I messaged there Monday, got a quick response from an ambassador that stated a few reasons I may not have received it like not being logged in etc and they mentioned a cust serv rep could check to see if i should have gotten it.
