Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Like this post I am giving away a copy of LA Cops. I just need your gamertag when you win. Winner chosen at random sometime tomorrow night when I get out of jail.

I’m ok with not winning. I just love the cleverness and flavor of what you are doing. Makes me happy

Haha thanks. Also helps the game is cheap! Always willing to give to the CAG community if it's free or cheap :p

Though one day I want to give Nier away... when it's cheap.

I am. Two days in a row now, after turning my X on from Instant On, it's locked up loading a game and hard reset itself. I'm in the Alpha preview ring.
Hate that this is happening but good to know that it’s nit just me. I’m also in the Alpha ring. Hopefully an update clears this up soon.

uh....I dunno if it's been mentioned since I haven't followed the thread closely lately, but some of those Ultimate Game Sale titles are still on sale for another 6 days. Most of them are the Bethesda titles (Doom/WOlfenstein pack, Prey/Dishonored 2 pack etc)

Battlefield 1 looks great with the 4K update. Had a lot of fun with it and saw they are weekly rotating (or was it bi-weekly?) the DLC so eventually all the DLC should be free again. This was mentioned in the main game itself.

Played some Blacklist co-op and the co-op missions are surprisingly fun. Sadly the main missions are still single play only AFAIK.

Was gonna play Ruiner before I slept but still not up for Gamepass yet.

One month Gamepass trial. Only works if you've never used a trial before.

Missing letters are the same, and are from the back half of the alphabet.

Didn't see it mentioned here, but anyone buying the Spyro collection may want to know - the disc version is shipping with only the first game. Second and third will be a day one title update, aka "the game wasn't ready but we didn't want to delay it."

Activision did the same thing with Tony Hawk 5, which was clearly a rush job to release a game before the license expired. Makes me worry that, disc or digital, that this is also going to be a lackluster effort.

Also, SP games requiring this is just not cool. I tolerated it with FFXV because Square-Enix spend 12 years building a game, but some PS1 remakes? Nope.

Eh, just me being a jerk because someone mentioned saving money by lying/deception, which I pointed out is the definition of fraud. Pretty sure people are tired of hearing how a site that doesn't charge appropriate tax means you have to make up for it on your annual taxes, or whatever minor legal indiscretion has me all hot and bothered. I don't really care and have no intention of squealing on anyone, I only point it out for the people paranoid about such things. Like how any inconsistency over 3 days of FBI questioning amounts to "false statements" and an open & shut felony charge.

Cool to see Ruiner on Game Pass. I don't much care for twin stick shooters, but Devolver makes fun little games.

I think I'm going to preorder Dead Cells for the $5 off. I love roguelikes, metroidvanias, and Dark Souls, so it should be a no brainer right?

Speaking of preorders, does anyone who got in on that Darksiders bundle still have DS3 showing as purchased, or were they able to revoke that one?

You do a great job separating your feeling on policies and feelings on games. Thank you I appreciate that. And this whole thread.

They fixed it by removing DS3 from the bundle, which took the license away from everyone, and they compensated those affected by doing nothing. Funny, considering people paid money for the bundle, but when people got Fallout 4 for free through a SUPER obvious mistake, they gave people $10.

At least I was able to complain and get a refund. I don't know that anyone got any better than that out of them.

I'm confused. You expected to be compensated for them rectifying an obvious mistake you tried to take advantage of?

has anyone been able to download ruiner from gamepass yet?
Nope! Still not up yet and supposedly Hitman.

Edit: Looks like the rest of the Hitman episodes are now up.

Bail has already been posted don't worry about it. I was out pretty quick, but since I had to squander up cash the LA Cops drawing is still going to be much later tonight, maybe even early AM Friday.

According to a reddit post MS is hinting at a few more additions coming to gamepass this month. Looks like gamecom announcement of DOOM and some other games.

Feel free to ad me if you need help. I haven't been playing much of anything lately but can try to hop on and help out a fellow CAG.
Now that Forza Horizon 2 is free, do I need to find a friend for achievements / challenges like I saw people doing for FH3?
Feel free to add me as well- I just started the game and am having a blast with it. Plus, it'd be nice to have more CAGs to play with.

PSA: I'm happy to play any game with fellow CAGs; just send an invite and I'll be happy to add you

So speaking of Game Pass..

I decided to play Fallout 4. Been putting it off for years because reasons. Well, I just 100% finished it with all DLC included, and I have to say.....it sucked. Huge letdown compared to the greatness of New Vegas and FO3. I didn't care about any of the characters, none of the factions had any appeal, and in the end, it felt like no matter which side I chose, the results of my actions had no significant impact on the world! WTF. Easily the worst Fallout game ever made.

Oh and the DLC content? Complete joke. There's like 4 crafting add-ons, Far Harbor (which was over before it even really started, startlingly short), and Nuka World (the most pointless and illogical story content of them all).

The kicker for me was that I pre-ordered the edition that included the season pass. That, combined with the disappointment of pre-ordering Destiny 2, means this guy is never pre-ordering again. Especially not with season passes. I thought the F4 DLCs would be meaty like Fallout 3. They were a literal joke. I never would've paid money for them had I known beforehand.

Aside from what you mentioned, the other disappointment for me was that the game engine doesn't seem all that different from Fallout 3. Movement is just as janky as on the 360. We still have crazy long load times entering small buildings. Load screens every where. Compare that to The Division, which released just 4 months later and has virtually no load screens; you can traverse the entire map, in and out of buildings, in and out of the PvP/Dark Zone, into the sewers, etc. with no load screens. Seems like the only thing in Fallout 4 that utilized the upgraded hardware of the XB1/PS4 was the base building mode, which is pointless anyways.

I was super disappointed in F4. That's why despite the addition of coop gameplay in F76, I'm still going to wait until I try the beta before deciding to buy it. And I am definitely not preordering any season pass/DLC (if there is any). fuck that.

There’s been tons of rumors about Microsoft joining Movies Anywhere. And more of those stories are out. Welp, I have a connection that in the past has said there was nothing on the MA side to indicate that it was impending. Now there is.

So think it’s finally happening. Just a matter of when they pull the switch!

Ugh spoiler alert. I'm only 25 hours in and now you ruin the ending that the game sucks. I've had my suspicions since very early on, but now I'll never get to discover it on my own. :(

I am trying to leave a decent early to mid game save so I can try it again later. Soon I will be switching to just trying to rush to the end to get it done. I figure this game will seem amazing someday after the turd that F76 will likely be for me. So I will be back after an eventual $10 goty sale.

I bought Fallout 4 GOTY today. I hated New Vegas. Like passionately hated it. I milked what I could from the achievements, including its DLC and really didn't like anything about it. All the talk about New Vegas > Fallout 4 has me excited for it. I understand the appeal to New Vegas, but most peoples' pros were my cons with that game.

Fallout 3 and its DLC's were okay. Not super memorable, but okay. If Fallout 4 at least reaches that, then I got my money's worth.

It more sounds like Fallout maybe isn't for you...

Whaaaat?! Fallout 3 was just okay? I thought it was groundbreaking. Getting lost in that game just wandering around was so much fun! Then having your decisions impact so much gave the emotional tie to the story. The DLCs were all good too. They added cool guns, maps and an increase to the level cap. Easily one of my favorite RPGS of all-time. If that was just okay to you, you got some crazy high standards mi amigo.

Fallout 3 was a goddamn revelation. It consumed my life for a good 3 months. And New Vegas just had that amazing Obsidian dialogue/story telling thing going on. They are so good at conversations and world building. Fallout 4 just felt like more of the same, but worse.

And I am definitely not preordering any season pass/DLC (if there is any). fuck that.
Right, the engine is totally dated and needs a major upgrade. To make things worse, I had just come off completing Witcher III, so my expectations had already been raised a few levels. The loading screens were annoying, and would've been much worse if I wasn't playing on an Xbox X.

Newer fallout guide ( that you didn’t ask for or want):

Fallout 4: good if you want more of shooting component. Exploring is good. Story and decisions stink. Who cares about these characters. Dlc adds the least - unless you like building, then this game is your jam

Fallout New Vegas: heavy on choices part. People complained about glitcheness but most are updated out. Shooting not as good as 4 but way less action. Best characters of bunch (Danny Trejo!). Dlc very fun- don’t know if better than 3

Fallout 3: shooting is alright. Exploring is better then Nv. Story is better then 4 (imo) but not as good as Nv. Characters are middle of the road between NV and 4. Dlc was very fun

This is fair, I agree with you.

I'm just going to say Fallout 3 gave me some of the most morbidly hilarious times in games. Case in point: turn off auto save and sneak behind people and put a grenade in their pocket and watch their upper body's flee from their legs.

There is an achievement for that I think

So speaking of Game Pass..

I decided to play Fallout 4. Been putting it off for years because reasons. Well, I just 100% finished it with all DLC included, and I have to say.....it sucked. Huge letdown compared to the greatness of New Vegas and FO3. I didn't care about any of the characters, none of the factions had any appeal, and in the end, it felt like no matter which side I chose, the results of my actions had no significant impact on the world! WTF. Easily the worst Fallout game ever made.

Oh and the DLC content? Complete joke. There's like 4 crafting add-ons, Far Harbor (which was over before it even really started, startlingly short), and Nuka World (the most pointless and illogical story content of them all).
why did you 100% a game you hated?

i loved it and didn't come close to completing everything

I’m of the opinion you would like Fallout 4 better if you have not played another Fallout game.

I paid for it, might as well do everything. Also, I still had fun exploring and looking for collectibles. The gunplay was pretty satisfying too. It's not like the game was totally broken; it just didn't live up to the standard the prior two games had set.

Maybe you should examine the colloquial definition (possibly standard definition too) of the word "sucked." When something "sucks" I don't have anything good to say about it.

Maybe you more of meant sucked as a Fallout game?

Yes, as a Fallout game, and incredibly disappointing overall, despite the odd highlight here and there.
