I played the free weekend and it is fun. I didn't experience any real game breaking issues, although I admit my time was limited. Hit detection seemed to be a real problem for me, yet I kept playing more. Then again, shotty hit detection has been jacked up the entire series of Gears and it's the primary weapon and I and many others keep playing it.

awp is right on his post and to expand on this issue:

MA support said 4k upgrades wouldn't carry over anyway, plus no way to do what I wanted removing the HD version from MA/VUDU/UV. I went ahead and connected itunes. Got XMen Days of Future Past added to my account. LOL. Oops.

Also, Deadpool transferred as HD and apparently it's not in 4k on VUDU. Same for Amazon it seems. More interestingly Jurassic World DID upgrade to 4k in Vudu! This is giving me a headache.

 
I wish there were 8TB drives that were USB powered. I think Seagate makes one, but it's really expensive. An external power cord is a deal breaker for me on externals.

Speaking of Vudu etc., a code seller site I frequent (uvcodes.com, they buy the discs and sell the codes) has Infinity War for $7ish. Now that you movie nerds in this thread got me on Movies Anywhere, I've been buying about a movie a week when I find a deal. I've bought a few from them and never had a problem, always get things quickly.

I haven't seen a portable drive larger than 5TB in the wild personally. I looked into Seagate and apparently they released an 8tb portable drive two years ago called the Innov8 with a USB-C connector. It doesn't seem to be for sale anywhere however.

The biggest problem I've ran into is the game display not loading properly. I play with my roommate some times and we'll be starting a match and his is loaded properly and mine is a black screen. I am IN the game but the screen is black, I can hear my character parachute and moving once I land. It has never happened to him, so maybe it's an issue with the X compared to the original X1 he has? It's frustrating but the game does eventually load in after a few minutes and doesn't require restarting the game, but that time could be the difference between winning and losing a match. A lot of the other jank is stuff that I see in major games, maybe not as much as PUGB, but it's also in game preview.

I used to buy a decent amount from the trade thread but then got tired of the same people reposting their lists charging way too much. I am also frustrated that people are charging like $8 for each split Disney code and getting $15+ for a movie they probably didn't pay more than $20 for. The people that are just selling random codes are nice to buy off of usually, they don't charge a ton, don't have a wicked long list and don't have neon text.

That issue was fixed for me with yesterday's "update" which was basically a 11.6 gb reinstall

 
Speaking of digital movies, for those who were able to jump on those free Deadpool 1 and 2 digital codes during San Diego Comic Con weekend and redeemed it, Vudu is sending out free $3 credit for "preordering". So basically two free movies and $3 digital Vudu credit if you were able to get in on that.

 
The comparison of Fortnite and PUBG at this point remind me of people trying to compare Call of Duty and Battlefield, the scope of the game maybe more closely related than those 2 were in the past, but the mechanics and gun-play are so very different. 

I think one reason of the continued perpetuation of the myth that PUBG is completely broken and Fortnite is without flaws is the audience. Fortnite seems to be a huge hit with the grade school to high school set and the streaming audience they make up. I know they are much more vocal with what they like and dislike. Ha the 4 man squad I usually play PUBG with only has 1 guy under 40 years old now so they don't do a lot of twitter posts, article commenting, or following streamers.

Saw you guys talking about FH2, and just in case I may ever want to play it in the future I picked up the storm island dlc, but is it worth it to also buy the car pass that's on sale too? Saw mention of things possibly being delisted? Is the treasure map worth a buy as well? Knowing Nothing about the game wondering what's worth buying.

I don't think you'll find a single Fox movie in 4K on Vudu. I've only seen them in 4K on FandangoNow and iTunes. Maybe one day...

Don’t bother getting the treasure map on its own, it only reveals the locations of the in game collectibles (boards to smash) and the barn finds. That info is found easily enough online.

The car pass is a matter of personal taste, if you want more cars to choose from, go for it. But understand the car pass does not contain the Porsche car pack, which adds its own achievements.

Storm Island is a great expansion, adding a new map and some new vehicles.

If you’re an achievement hunter, get Storm Island and the Porsche pack. If not, get Storm Island and any car packs that strike your interest. I have yet to lose interest in a Horizon game due to a lack of choice with what to drive, and only picked up car passes on a deep discount.

There is a lot of us cag on uv codes. You have to be careful there though lots of scammers and no way to ban them.

Probably have seen you there as well. Great place to get movies though. Trade or buy from regulars. I rarely have any codes to sell anymore since I dont buy dvd anymore. I just buy the codes for movies I want or I end up just giving them away for free.

Look up ultravioletcinema dot com too and you can also compare prices there along with the CAG trade forum. It’s nice browsing around and find the best deals. There’s a handful of CAGers with awesome prices but you really gotta check that forum every minute because they get sold fast. And for older movies, I just use the VUDU app to convert eligible titles for only $2 a pop HDX, just look up the UPCs. I had to ask my fam if they have an old Android phone they aren’t using since that Disc 2 Digital don’t work on iOS anymore tho.

I use to buy lots of blu-rays but I’ve gone digital because of the nice CAG price. I think the last physical movie I bought was Wonder Woman digibook. But I’m getting Infinity War steelbook for sure and maybe Deadpool 2 steelbook. Sucks I missed out on that comic con DP2 freebie.

On iPhone just use Safari and go to vudu.com for Disc to Digital. I heard it's because Apple wanted 30% of the $2 conversions so they disabled it on the app but you can still do it on the browser.
 
Confession time, I’m packing for a weeklong family vacation, and I still cannot travel without a Nintendo handheld. Got my Game Boy when I was 10, haven’t been able to leave home for long with it, or the GBA or DS, for 25 years now. I still have Picross and Picross 3D for just such occasions.
 
noob question: i finally opened my 8tb drive bought last black friday - I'd like to transfer files from a couple 4tb drives to it for backup. I was wondering if I should try to transfer from the 4tb straight to the 8tb while both are plugged into my laptop or is that not going to work and I have to transfer from 4tb to computer to 8tb?

Sorry, I'm a bit confused due to a lack of sleep, since we are in an Xbox thread. Are you asking about transferring files from a 4TB used on your Xbox? You can copy files from one TB drive to the other from the external HD menu.

If you are asking about copying computer files, then you can just connect both TB drives to your laptop and perform the copy from whatever OS you are using.

Anyway there is no reason to copy the files to your laptop first.

Finished the main campaign on Overcooked 2, 3 starred everything. I guess there is some random things you have to do in levels to unlock the bonus levels. Some of the remaining achievements are a bit grindy (throwing X number of items into pots, catching X number of items, etc.) but we are gonna go for all the bonus levels so I might end up unlocking them. Very fun game, kind of short though, IMHO.

On Rush showing another free to play for a limited time. Not sure if this a few hours unlock like last time or the entire game.

Game bombed and they cut the studio big time, but seemed like a fun game with the few hours I played. If it's the full game then I challenge someone to beat it over the weekend lol.

Still in love with Deadcells. If your a fan of rogue like games it might be a contender for GOTY for a lot of people right now. I'm putting it as my third favorite behind Nier and God of War this year,  granted I've only gotten to the second boss so lots of death to go.

Doom showed up in my Ready to Install list. I had installed it during a free play weekend last year and deleted it at some point, but never bought it. Its discount on the marketplace has 2 days remaining, so something's happening with it.

Battlefront II is also in my install list. Its EA Access discount says 5 days remaining. Maybe a free play period, maybe it's headed for the vault.

Man Dead Cells is very good, there is layers upon layers on this thing almost like a Dark Souls. A bit of RNG but it's so easy just to start up another run, but then again when you got a new blueprint and not much health left start going in total conservative mode trying to get out of the level.

Beat it last night as well + all 3 stars

To unlock the hidden levels you just have to either reach a high score or a certain combo on the levels near them. By the time you've beaten it though, going back and getting those should be easy

Glad I passed on buying the Doom Bundle

That's what I was thinking as well, I didn't think it could come loose over time though. I bought it about 18 months ago. What's irritating is that the areas it appears to be bleeding out now are where I remember the delivery guys handling it as they lifted it out of the box... I have a feeling they weren't too gentle with it back then, and only now am I seeing the results.

I'm pretty sure you could say this about almost any industry, though. I'd probably have a lot more understanding and sympathy for my crappy waiter after having a job as a waiter or i'd probably understand and possibly even sympathize better why congress seemingly never accomplishes anything if I became a congressman, etc.

 
Those of you still using the VCR model, GS is giving $200 credit towards buying an X1X through 8/28 ($250 for a One S). The official Xbox Twitter even posted about it, seems they really want you to upgrade. That's def. the most you'd get for the OG VCR these days. 

Also, my Prime is expiring, and I can't justify $120 to renew it. Thinking about trying to preorder some games on discount before it expires next week, but I'm not sure what all is on the horizon. RE2? The new Tomb Raider?

Regrettably, the original game is in my backlog. In school I avoided sandbox games because I can lose so much sleep to them, so the sequel wasn't on my radar until I could play the first.

Maybe I can change that before late October?

Same. I have both the game and DLC to play through. Was waiting until I got my X and now that I have it, I've only started the first mission.

Game does look amazing on it, though.

Seconded only if you have interest merely because it's a Rockstar game and besides quality, those games won't go down in price for years so I don't think there will be any real buyers remorse in terms of price for awhile.

And I kinda want to trade in my old VCR XBox, but it's going strong still (maybe because I keep skipping around consoles) and seeing how it's been less than a year and seeing people talk about their One X with random problems, makes me want to wait another year or so so they can iron out the kinks...and drop the price and include at least two free games with purchase.
