Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Thanks for putting Overwatch on sale, even if you didn't include it in your lists, Bloomy!

My brother expressed interest in Dead Cells, but I think it will go cheaper for xmas. I really like the game, and am happy I bought it at launch, but since I already have it I find it hard to justify $20.

Any thoughts on Valkyria Chronicles 4? I like tactics games, and it looks kind of like Operation Darkness without the werewolves. Truthfully, I'm a bit worried I'll be disappointed by the lack of werewolves in the middle of an anime WWII tactics game.

Regarding Injustice 2- whoever posted that you can have the game AI fight in the 'Single Player: Multiverse' for you, thank you! I've been watching Leonardo demolish Batman while I work and it's hilarious. Plus, I unlock more gear

So far the haul has been
- Quantum Break
- Batman: Return to Arkham (I grabbed $5 in M$ dollars and thought why not)
- Soul Calibur VI: Season Pass (prepping for Black Friday. Not on sale)

Looking to do more bing searches and see what else I can grab
You're welcome. If you haven't akready, there are a few character specific A.I. Loadout reddits that can definitely help strengthen your character. I love having my Level 18 Leo take out the Level 30 multiverses that give you platinum boxes. It's seriously the best

I think it's one of those games that will be tough to review on release, like a PUBG or Sea of Thieves. Could be a lot of differences a few months down the road. I'm not that big of a Fallout fan, but the game's online world aspects somewhat intrigue me for the same reasons it probably turns Fallout fans off. Could be fun just messing around with my online friends.

That said, it's a pack in game, those digital codes always hit pretty cheap sooner or later so I can wait it out.

This. In all honesty it's probably not bad.. but the online only part is probably whats ticking people off.

It's like Metal Gear Survive, doomed from the start.

And i'll be getting a cheap code/copy down the road as well.

Anyone else seeing these early reviews for Fallout 76? Ouch.
I genuinely wonder what the purpose of a launch review for an online game is anymore. These types of games change so rapidly from fixing bugs and listening to player feedback that it’s not the same game 6 months later.

Meanwhile, reviewers give Fallout 76 a 4/10 and pretty much kill it in arrival and don’t bother updating the reviews after those fixes and updates are made.

You have a point about a game improving after several updates, but the reality is you pay $60 for a game and are playing it now. All you have to base it on is how good the game is now, not good it might be in the future. That and developers consistently meddling in games (imo) often kills what made the games enjoyable in the first place.

Add me to the list of grateful recipients for this advice. I booted the game up for the first time last night and it was so glorious being able to have the AI do it. I was actually playing The Show on another TV in the same room lol. I had a level 4 guy take out a level 30 but it took a while. Actually I think he was up to level 12 by the end after all the times I died lol.

Well apparently I cannot buy BF1 because I own the trial. Tried downloading the trial but it only gives me the option to play or buy as a gift. So dumb.

maybe gift it to yourself and use the code on your account? (if all else fails)

but there should certainly be a way to buy it

I don't understand how people liked FF XIII to me the only reason I stopped playing was because I could not grind to level up my yuna I mean lightning. They completely removed the ability to grind for exp and saw that battling was pointless without that.Someone prove me wrong and make me give this game another go.

True, a review would be a good thing to have on launch day if the game is completely broken. But I still haven’t seen a review updated after numerous fixes and updates. A game like Fallout 76 won’t be the same in 6 months. So while it may not be worth the price now, it may be in 6 months. Those 4/10 reviews are no longer accurate, but they sit there unchanged, possibly killingbthe game’s future sales.

The design of FFXIII is confusing to me. So much of it is linear and there isn't much room to grind like you said, and there are super hard monsters sprinkled here and there and no way to get stronger to fight them. Once the game opens up you can do some grinding, but then the game shrinks back down to being very linear.

Yuna?? Lightning is waaaay more angsty Cloud than she is Yuna by a mile. And the game doesn't open up until 2/3 in. meaning you get an open area and can do missions and such.

Love it or hate it, it's because the intention is to utilize the battle system and use different profiles for different scenarios.

That's the nature of gaming, it's up to a the publisher/developer to keep at it and improve the game enough to get people to check it out. You could say similar things for Destiny 1, Rainbow Six Siege, or For Honor. All of these had pretty rough launches with, with two of them having sharp declines in player-bases, but after a lot of updates they built up goodwill and most importantly good word of mouth, and were able to turn around perception over the long haul. Some publishers take advantage of this system, pop out a huge expansion down the line, and use that as a tool to get a new review score to replace the old one. Destiny does this.

With Fallout 76, it's a bit different because about half of what the core Fallout fans want simply is not there, and it would a massive undertaking to add in. At the very least, they have to really polish up the gameplay experience and fix all of the negative bugs, all while also adding new content that will keep players interested, and this is what has to draw in new players or entice normal Fallout fans.

Now, it's up to Bethesda to improve this and I think that's where the company needs to be worry. First, they have never been particularly good about fixing bugs. Many of the major bugs, like the Power Armor freak glitch, were in Fallout 4. The physics being tied to framerate has been around since Oblivion or Morrowind. With Fallout 4 I think they put in the most effort towards fixing things, but by the end they left many issues in the state they were, focusing 100% on adding stuff to Creation Club, with the only bugs addressed at that point being stuff related to CC. On the other hand, they may be able to add satisfying systems to the game, with Fallout 4 they added a large robot construction system to the game, and a factory manufacturing thing that had potential (in game it wasn't super useful, and some of the main conveyor belt pieces remained bugged so bad they were useless.)

Time will tell, but having a rough launch is on the the company, and one could see those low scores and negative reactions as a tiny bit of karma relating to the 84 out of 85 bonus situation Obsidian was in with New Vegas.

Fallout 76's bugs are pretty bad, no doubt about that. Particularly because several of them were ported from Fallout 4, because Bethesda never bothered to patch them in that game. Makes me believe they are completely incapable of fixing those bugs. I'm more than a little annoyed about how many bugs are still present from the Beta as well. They claimed the patch data was present in the initial install of the final game, but I saw several Xbox users have the download complete months in advance, and they didn't have a day 1 patch. I'm also annoyed that the first patch is tomorrow, but they won't be releasing patch notes until "early next week." That's pretty vague, and frankly dumb because by now they must know exactly what the patch will change. Unless they don't have faith their fixes actually fixed anything.

Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the game, particularly since I can play it with my girlfriend. But they need to fix a shit ton of bugs, and there are also a ton of QOL improvements that desperately need to be made.

I'm guess the patch notes thing has something to do with the multiple studios working on it. There are at least 3 studios that should be working on the day-to-day support, and only one game at Bethesda (ESO) has had to deal with this kind of thing lately. That or they weren't actively documenting fixes for some reason.

Any recommendations for a basic headset for $50 or less? I don't need anything fancy, just two speakers for game audio and chatting. I'm not really sure what to look for anymore.

So what's the deal with the Xbox sale? It says on the main page "ends 11/26" but when you're in a specific games page it says 3 hours. Is the 3 hours left just the exclusive Gold member early acces time?

Just a reminder for those who got Guitar Hero Live, servers are shutting down December 1st. So if you want to get all the achievements and get the most out of the game, well, get started.

wow that sucks....so many achievements I won't unlock like play for 24 hours, or 1 million strums!

Is soul caliber 6 worth picking up at BB for $35? I haven’t picked up a good fighting game in awhile and having Geralt and eventually 2B to play as is very tempting.

That's what I have, it's no frills for sure, but no complaints from me or the others I play with that hear my voice
Same. My buddy and his wife swore by these when I was looking to upgrade from one of those cheap single ear headsets. I was a bit reticent going to two cans but I adjusted pretty quick.

I ran out of xbl today so i went over to cdkeys and bought 4 three month xbl codes. The total was $41 and some change.

When i was entering the codes i got a window pop up asking if i would like to add my cc to auto renew gold and i would get a free month of xbl so i said yes.

It asked me the samething 4 times so i got 4 months of free gold. I dont have to renew until march 2020.
