Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Btw, I didn't see it mentioned, but Subnautica had it's full release on Xbox yesterday.
I've been waiting on this to finally start a real playthrough.
I was also waiting on the full game release but my tile still shows it as game preview and doesn't seem like it's updated recently. Do you see something different?

I honestly just have it on as background noise in case I win BV so I can give it away. From what my ears are hearing it seems pretty meh.
Yeah it's not great but the furry part just caught me by surprise. Some decent games have been announced though I can see why it's not on tv anymore.

I think SonicFox did just about exactly what expected if you follow the FGC at all. Everyone lets the furry stuff slide because he's extremely good at every fighting game he touches. He's won EVO in Injustice 1, Mortal Kombat X twice, and Dragonball Fighterz. He's also won Injustice 2's yearly circuit two years in a row. He's also won in some Skullgirls stuff, and has roots in Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur.

Anyways, the game announcements have been kind of weak so far. The only big thing for me is Outer Worlds from Obsidian, and that Dragon Age 4 tease.

Ulitimate Alliance is cool, but Team Ninja has been all over the place as far as quality goes so I'm reserving judgment on that. I posted just before MK was shown, and Psychonauts 2 was not an announcement.

They kinda rushed through that Phil Spencer part but he did say Below will launch in game pass.

To help celebrate the nine rad games we’re including in the program this year, fans will get a $5 gift card for each game they purchase through the Microsoft Store Online or Xbox, after the first one, up to a total of $40 if they buy all nine games

Thinking about the Arcade thing...Please get the TMNT and X-Men arcade games on the Xbox One. I could play them all day long.

Smash is getting a Sony exclusive character as DLC. While it isn't the same as a Microsoft rep since Persona is a Sega property (who also have two other character reps worked out), I think the chances of Banjo just went up.

It's weird that they're all out within two weeks of each other and three came out a few days ago, plus a bunch of them are $30+. Having Game Pass also kills the need to buy those few games, as well. This is a weird promotion.

I mean Persona has been on Nintendo before and they still have that Persona Q 2 still to come out

Sure, but the only difference with Banjo is no new game on the system. Q2 is not going to be a big deal being a 3DS game. I guess it does make more sense to promote the SMT Switch game though. Personally I think this along with the statment Reggie made killed obscure fan request characters' chances, like Geno. If anything else is coming from Square I would guess 2B now, but maybe not because of Soul Calibur.

They were working on it long before they were purchased, so they can't trash the publishing contract and game because of the acquisition. You're still getting it on Xbox One, so nothing really changes for you.
The only possible downside to this is if this game does well enough to get a sequel and Obsidian signed the rights away to this publisher, but looking up Private Division apparently they have said they let the devs keep their IP as part of the their mission statement.

For a brief second I thought that trailer might be leading to an Xbox port announcement...

:(

Outer Worlds looks great though.
I was expecting a Switch announcement at the end of the trailer at least. I'm pretty surprised Mortal Kombat is getting a Switch version, but they seem to have a handle on getting Unreal Engine 4 games on the system now.

My only issue with gamepass is it would be nice to know how long a game will be on there when it first gets put on, Strange Brigade for example I don’t want to buy the season pass and then find out 2 months from now it’s leaving since it’s usually cheaper to buy the game + season pass together lol.

More info on Outer Worlds from Steam. There are a few screenshots and the dialogue system looks awfully familiar. It looks and sounds like it's going to be Space New Vegas. The only potential difference is I'm not sure you'll be able to be in third-person at all. There is maybe one shot in the trailer showing the player character, but the description specifically says first-person. They talk about being your own character a lot though, so maybe you still can switch, or maybe there are more traditional cutscenes at certain points. Regardless, I think this just jumped up to my number two game to look forward to next year, behind Resident Evil 2.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/578650/The_Outer_Worlds/

The Outer Worlds is a new single-player first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division.

In The Outer Worlds, you awake from hibernation on a colonist ship that was lost in transit to Halcyon, the furthest colony from Earth located at the edge of the galaxy, only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy it. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.

Key Features

  • The player-driven story RPG: In keeping with the Obsidian tradition, how you approach The Outer Worlds is up to you. Your choices affect not only the way the story develops; but your character build, companion stories, and end game scenarios.
  • You can be flawed, in a good way: New to The Outer Worlds is the idea of flaws. A compelling hero is made by the flaws they carry with them. While playing The Outer Worlds, the game tracks your experience to find what you aren't particularly good at. Keep getting attacked by Raptidons? Taking the Raptiphobia flaw gives you a debuff when confronting the vicious creatures, but rewards you with an additional character perk immediately. This optional approach to the game helps you build the character you want while exploring Halcyon.
  • Lead your companions: During your journey through the furthest colony, you will meet a host of characters who will want to join your crew. Armed with unique abilities, these companions all have their own missions, motivations, and ideals. It's up to you to help them achieve their goals, or turn them to your own ends.
  • Explore the corporate colony: Halcyon is a colony at the edge of the galaxy owned and operated by a corporate board. They control everything... except for the alien monsters left behind when the terraforming of the colony’s two planets didn’t exactly go according to plan. Find your ship, build your crew, and explore the settlements, space stations, and other intriguing locations throughout Halcyon.

I get it, be true to yourself, but it's still hard to take seriously.

lol what a great show, lots of big reveals

I got all excited with that Persona reveal thought we were gonna see a enhanced multi platform edition. Seeing Joker in Smash was pretty cool. he's always looking so cool.

$5 * 9 =/= $40.

With Game Pass it takes out a couple of the ones I would of been in for like Ashen and Below in the "Winter of Arcade". Probably will grab Donut County and that might be about it. Already have Subnautica and Monster Boy is a $40 release not exactly what I'd have in mind for this kind of promotion, but it was always going to be weird going back to one of these anyway.

yeah that would be nice. Or if you should sell the disc if you own it. That’s one good thing about EA Access. Once they have the game in the vault it never comes out.

Played some of Ashen last night. Great stuff. Reviews are starting to come in as well with a 9/10 on GameSpot.

Man I love GamePass. 😃

Microsoft is making it very hard for me to want to buy games on other platforms with Game Pass.

Granted it also has worked as a great demo platform for me and has helped me buy or not buy stuff on Switch (I like portability). I was able to avoid all the shitty tiny build games that looked interesting but that are in fact, not good.

On the inverse Game Pass got me to buy Sterendenn which is good.

Going forward it is going to be much harder to actually buy stuff with Gamepass

Anyone win a copy of BF5?

I saw tons of people flooding the chat with "BF5" to try and win it, but I didn't type that out... wasn't sure if that was actually a requirement or not.

I missed the show but Outer Worlds sounds like a must-play for me.  Was once again hoping for more Borderlands 3 news after those weird tweets a couple days ago - man the pent up demand for that game; it better be good.

Tried Persona 5 last week, and now have a personal example of a game I didn't like within 15 minutes of starting it up.  I thought, wow so much text... and Googled it.  I guess the game finally turns into more than an interactive story after multiple hours of play?  Hmm, no thanks!  Everyone raves about it so I must be missing out, but that's ok - plenty more to play.

I completed the The Bureau: XCom Declassified a couple years back and thought it was a fun playthrough on the cheap.

After burning out on Smash bros. Ultimate from playing it nonstop for a week, I’m happy to come back to a few great games on gamepass.
