Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Guess I can get rid of the copy of Shadow Warrior sitting in my backlog.

Purchase price: $4
Current TIV: $2.40
Cost to sit on shelf for a month: $1.60

I bought Shadow Warrior when it was $6 and got kinda bored with it, despite loving old-school games. I think it was its length, both the levels and the total number of levels, which I found off-putting.

Crazy Taxi has not aged well. It's still fun, but something as simple as going in reverse still requires multiple button presses, when the genre has evolved to pretty much always use shoulder triggers for basic things like that. It's hard to re-learn less intuitive controls.

Holy shit! Split/Second!

Been on my BC wish list so that alone makes February a win.
I heard great things about it, but resisted backlogging it when it went BC. Will gladly take a free copy.

I Still don't know how the fuck to Crazy Drift or all the other dumb advanced techniques in that game. Also... YA YA YA YA YAAAAAA!

This came up before when it was on sale previously, but sadly the old soundtrack is not in the XBL version (or any later ports). The new one is okay and does the job, but I'm pretty sure Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast helped solidify my love of Bad Religion.

Looked up the songs, and still can't believe they only got 4 songs for the original game:

The Offspring - All I Want
The Offspring - Way Down The Line
Bad Religion - Ten In 2010
Bad Religion - Them And Us
It was fine in an arcade, but for the home version, YA YA YA YA YA.

To my knowledge, it isn’t BC yet. That’s why I was excited to see it in GwG!
Well then hot damn. I must have been thinking of a different game. That, or Split/Second was on sale and peaked my interest but wasn't BC, I do remember wanting to play it.

I Can totally believe it because playing the arcade version my memories boil down to "HEYHEYHEY ARE YOU READY TO MAKE SOME CRAAAAZY MONEY?? HERE WE GO~~~!" "YA YA YA YA YAAAAA!" "A CLASS D LICENSE! ISTHATYOURBESTIDONTTHINKSO! GAME OVER" "YA YA YA YA YAAAAAA!" So even take away the licensed music, the Offspring's legacy now and forever for me will remain forever intact in my damn brain until I die. Don't even know any other words to that song.

I beat Shadow Warrior, sold it, re bought it digitally, and now it's free lol; love the game though, was a blast
I bought it a year or two ago on PS4. Loved it. Best $6 or $8 I spent for a game. Didn't care for Shadow Warrior 2 as much though. Doubt I will replay Shadow Warrior 1 on XBox One though.

I'll give Shadow Warrior a whirl. Split/Second and ACC India didn't really do anything for me when they came out. Still, I'll take the freebies.

Had Crazy Taxi for years, reminds me of the good ol Dreamcast days. Takes me back to when our history teacher rolled out the ol tube tv and the whole class groaned cause it was gonna be another crappy vhs tape snooze-athon. He then proceeds to turn on the tv and fires up Soul Caliber. The entire class lost its shit at that moment. We played that and Crazy Taxi the rest of the period. He became the coolest teacher the remainder of my junior year after that.

As far as Bing Rewards goes, I'm not going to worry too much. They frequently take out rewards and add them back in later, so until it's been months and months without any Microsoft/Xbox $ available I'm gonna keep on using their inferior search engine and racking up those sweet, sweet points.

Re: GWG, hooray! I don't own any of those. And I thought about purchasing AC Chronicles because I really liked the other one they gave us for free. It scratched my Mark of the Ninja itch.

very disappointed with the GwG list, another assassins creed game and not even from the main series, Shadow warrior is fun if you don't already own it and I got my fix of Crazy Taxi on gamecube 10 years ago.

If it helps, the XBLA/PSN versions are not good ports of the game. They messed up the controls so that it's harder to pull off the crazy moves.
I Mean...kinda? I Think even on Dreamcast I was able to do them once in a blue moon by accident, but I don't remember it ever really happening on the 360 in Dreamcast Collection for me.

It's a pretty crappy list. They haven't done a triple A game in a long time. I don't have any so I'll collect them but I have no desire to boot any of those up, just sayin.

Now that Microsoft games are going to Game Pass we won't see those in GWG anymore just like EA.

With recent announcements, Game Pass may indeed hurt the quality of GWG, but I'm still happy collecting 360 games since they perma-license, and there is usually one GWG per month I'm legitimately interested in.

I guess I've never stopped seeing GWG as an added bonus. I'd be buying Gold every year anyway to play online, so if even one game per month is marginally interesting, it's a plus for me.

Holy cow, Split Second. I was looking at it the other day and was like, wish this goes BC - and it goes BC.

If you guys want any other games to go BC, its 2.99 per game, for me to wish. I will be over here waiting for you suckers!!!

AC: India is by far the worst of the chronicles games.  A control breaking frustrating game.  I really like China and Russia was okay as well.  India was a nightmare for me.

I’m really excited about Split/Second. I don’t own the AC India game, but I kind of liked what I played of the China one. I don’t own shadow warrior, but it a first person melee game, right? Those kind of games nauseate me.

I THINK I bought crazy taxi a few years back when it was on sale. I remember playing it and thinking that it didn’t hold up well at all. It could have been the demo, though.

TL:DR - I’m happy about February’s games.

Edit: As others have said, Split/Second is available BC for those that already own it. Mine’s downloading as we speak. I may as well play that for a bit since since I can’t get the damn DBZ Fighterz beta to work for shit.

Just converted my Best Buy in-store pickup gift cards and RZ certificates into Xbox credit like a good XBL Deals thread member.

I was thinking about grabbing Monster Hunter World, but after further thought I might pass and just get it when it goes on sale. If I got it, I could finally finish a Pre-Order Punchcard with another purchase, but nothing else on the list really grabs me. I'm fine with waiting for a good sale on Far Cry 5 and I'll probably do the same for Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

What to do, what to do...early reviews of Monster Hunter World are really good, also.

EDIT: Also, to anyone doing the F2P Play-a-Thon, are you finding that your logged playtime updates pretty quickly or does it usually take a few days? The website says it can take up to 4 days, but you never know with these things. I opted in and all that already.

Sweet, always wanted to play Split/Second but never got around to buying it.

That's two months in a row GwG gave me a game I wanted to play but never got around to buying. Not a bad start to the year.

Same.

All new games for me moving forward. Never a huge fan of Crazy Taxi but I'm ever closer to having all available Assassin's Creed owned digitally. Still holding out for MGS:HD and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow to go backwards compatible.

I think I bought split/second a while back but it'll be nice to have it BC. Own AC: India and crazy taxi. Was thinking we'd get one of the main AC games that haven't been GwG yet since it's been a while and because of the rogue remaster.

Getting shadow warrior and another BC will be nice.

Told you guys Larry would announce the February GWG freebies today ;-)

Split Second was a rather good game. Back when it came out it was either Blur or Split Second.A lot more liked Blur so SS kinda got shoved under the rug. I enjoyed both games but yes I'd prefer Blur. Hope that's BC next.

Blur and Saints Row and I could finally retire my Xbox 360 for good. You're cheque is in the mail...

Haha, oh man I'm good on GwG because I believe I have all of those. Love Split/Second and there's a ton of fun in that game. Sad that studio shuddered and Disney decided to go mobile, bleh. All those others were on sale before so I picked them up.

I am definitely digging the new Microsoft rewards dashboard. Love the idea of streaks and tired quests.
Yeah and they have your lifetime points on record on the new Earn page (believe it was on a few emails before), 244K for me.

Just wish the streak was retroactive as it kinda stings starting at zero all of a sudden. Ahhh Borderlands 2 quest requirements flash backs lol.

Sorry if already mentioned but Rainbow Six is getting a X patch. No ETA but the hardware should be powerful enough to do 4k/60.

The game is also going to go back to $60 so if it's on sale might consider grabbing it soonish.

Also For Honor dedicated servers go live Feb 15th.

Ok maybe I'm retarded, but why can I not get a picture at all on my X900E for the Xbox X? I have the HDMI cable plugged into port 2, but when I go to Input 2, nothing shows. Anyone who owns this set got any tips? I bet it's something really minor too.

It’s $18.59 on CDKeys, but think it was as low as ~$11 at one point.

I still don’t understand the whole “season” stuff with the game. If you buy the original game, will you be not able to play the latest stuff without buying a season pass?

You can play new maps but not characters. The season pass unlocks the new characters and allows you to play them earlier than they are available for non pass owners to unlock. Last I checked unlocking the new characters for free was a huge grind, like 20+ hours per character. Season pass also gives some cosmetics and a miniscule xp boost of like 5% I think.

You earn currency just by playing and can use that currency to buy any of the locked characters. Honestly, there is a lot of variety and skills in the default characters that you can have fun playing for a long time without even unlocking the season pass characters. I played all throughout year 1 and didn't buy a single season 1 character. I bought the season 2 pass (via price glitch), but mainly still play on the default characters. The season pass gives you more options to play, but you will not miss out on the experience or be held back in any way if you didn't get it.

Ok maybe I'm retarded, but why can I not get a picture at all on my X900E for the Xbox X? I have the HDMI cable plugged into port 2, but when I go to Input 2, nothing shows. Anyone who owns this set got any tips? I bet it's something really minor too.
Cables plugged in all the way in?
Have you tried HDMI 3 input on the TV. 2 and 3 are the HDR inputs.
Are you going straight to the TV or through a receiver? I have that TV and the X and you should see output on the TV even if the TV inputs are not enabled for HDR.
Have you tried another HDMI cable?

Everything Chabelo said but also, have you double checked to make sure you have it in the right port on the x itself?
