Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Go Golden Knights! 4-0 in period 1... on my Xbox.

#NHL18

I bought the NHL game this year to play as them and they made them terrible in the game which is funny since they have not been terrible in there first season.

Holy crap! Republic Commando really looks great. Puts Jedi Academy to shame.

Seems to have some nice particle effects that I don’t remember as well.

The NHL expansion process is so broken, I'm sure it will be a few years hopefully a decade before we see another team in the league but they got to let teams protect more players.

No one expected them to be very good. The have proven everyone wrong and I am loving it

Nothing jumping out at me from the Endless Play part, they really want everyone to buy some Rise of the Tomb Raider add ons since that's beyond a usual suspect now. The Final Station DLC for $2.50 is interesting if your're still in GTASC on Trueachievements, but man 11 playthroughs.

Playing the old Battlefront II actually gives me more appreciation for the new Battlefront II. I know the launch and the IAP fiasco was a clusterfuck but the gameplay, especially the space combat , is pretty amazing for a SW fan in the new game.

Only thing I enjoyed with the original that the newer games don’t have is the ability to land on a cruiser and take out the enemy from within.

May pick up that Layers of Fear and Guacamelee DLC...

Just got done seeing Avengers: Infinite War and yeah, I liked it alot. It felt very Game of Thrones and Empire Strikes Back with the constant sense of dread the film brings and bouncing back and forth between characters and storylines.Definitely for people that have kept up with all the films though.

Is it longer than a LOTR movie? Wil there be a sequel?

SSX 3 has more nostalgia than I bargained for on the digital release... it still has the trailers for the original Need For Speed Underground, NFL Street amd NBA Street Vol 2.

I swear, this is too much 2003-2004 for me to handle!

Article says Microsofts operating expenses are up 5% and they name gaming as a big contributor. That means they are investing money in something... hope it's something we see at E3!

AVENGERS INFINITY WAR HOLY SHIT

YMMV (especially if you've never watched any of the others) but, as a fan from the beginning, I absolutely loved this movie.
Haven't seen Dr. Strange, Thor Ragnarock or Black Panther yet. Without spoiling anything, how integral are those to setting up Infinity War?

They all tie into it but it's not like you won't be able to follow along. You should definitely watch them first though. You'll just miss references and how people got to certain places. Reunions may not be as meaningful. Only one of those films introduces an infinity stone that comes into play in infinity war.

Does anyone know if I redeem my gamepass trial and then use the $1 if I'll get 6 weeks or will the $1 deal negate my trial?

I don't think you'd be totally lost or anything, but if you can, I'd check them out beforehand.

For those movies, their order of importance before watching Infinity War I'd say #1 is Thor Ragnarok, then Dr. Strange, then Black Panther. His movie is great, don't get me wrong, but you'll at least know him from Civil War, and Black Panther is a film that largely stands by itself anyway.

Thor Ragnarok I rate as most important simply because its ending most directly connects to Infinity War's beginning. If you just saw that one before Infinity War, you'd be pretty set, and could watch the other two later.

Thanks for this. I’ll definitely watch Thor again before going.

Reedus, ya missed the Van Helsing 1, 2, & 3 dlc's on that sale too. Grabbed a few things for a buck or two already...or if they're not part of that specific sale...they're on sale for 12 more days.

Haven't seen Dr. Strange, Thor Ragnarock or Black Panther yet. Without spoiling anything, how integral are those to setting up Infinity War?
I haven't seen IW yet, but Dr. Strange is pretty forgettable and predictable in terms of hero movies. If you have any vague idea of the character from the comics, I think you can skip it - all it does is establish the character in the MCU, no significant implications for the broader ongoing storyline.

It's on Netflix, though, so it'd be easiest to knock out of the 3 you asked about.

Ragnarok is definitely important to the setup for IW.

Dr Strange was all origin and so long as you know, guy with great facial hair who can do crazy mumbo, jumbo; you're good.

Also Infinity War made me very glad Whedon left after Ultron, because I can't imagine any other director (director's?) who can pull off the juggling act of this movie.

Wonder if having two directors (Anthony and Joe Russo) helped with that juggling.

Hence my (director's?) and I think they;re definitely the main reason the movie works since they've done Arrested Development and Community so know how to balance multiple storylines and characters in a reasonable time frame. Though even then there's like four or so storylines in this movie with dozens of characters and cameos and it does take alot for them to have faith that the audience can figure it out who's who. Pretty amazing. Also kudos to the editing and the score.

Apparently the latest update for MoviePass only allows you to see a movie once. So anyone planning on seeing Avengers multiple times with MP, you may be out of luck.

It's helpful but not super important to see it. Black Panther introduces more of the characters/Wakanda but isn't a direct build-up to IW.

At worst, just read the wiki entries, see IW and then go back and see those if you want.

Article says Microsofts operating expenses are up 5% and they name gaming as a big contributor. That means they are investing money in something... hope it's something we see at E3!
Surely partially games but 5% for MS is a LOT. It's probably hardware development for the Xbox Two ramping up for it to be that high.

The NHL expansion process is so broken, I'm sure it will be a few years hopefully a decade before we see another team in the league but they got to let teams protect more players.
After the highly successful ticket drive, we're getting approved for a team in September - for play starting in Fall 2020.

We're getting the same Expansion Draft rules as Vegas.

All that, because we're paying $650mil, versus the $500 mil Vegas paid just a few years earlier.

And you are correct - these rules make no sense.

Other fanbases will rightly feel annoyed at the successful new kids that just showed up and started winning. And those new fans might get spoiled by success.

https://www.ea.com/ea-access/news/rory-mcilroy-pga-tour-will-leave-ea-access-on-may-22

Rory Mcilroy PGA tour is leaving EA Access on May 22nd (and xbox live store). Sounds like licensing issues rather then EA just removing a old sports title.

The MS investsments sound big. Either pre-ramping for the newer hardware in two years (a lot of signs point towards PS5 in early or late 2020) or putting money towards new games. I haven't heard much in the ways of new hardware outside of the revised elite controller but that was supposedly rumored last E3 as well.

Finally got a chance to install and play some classic Battlefront 2 again. All was well until I'm playing as Luke on Death Star and every time I hit an enemy with a lightsaber a comic book blurb saying 'ZAP!' OR 'BIF!' popped up like 60's Batman. In all the hours I've poured into the game I never remember that happening? Restarted the game and it's gone completely.

The only sport popular in Seattle is soccer, which should tell you alot about seattle, they wont support it just like the other sports.

LoL. Uh, the Seahawks are one of the Top 25 most valuable franchises in all of professional sports, according to Forbes. The Sounders...aren't.

That success probably accounts for the Seahawks' record-setting noise and ridiculously-high local television ratings for NFL games.

...Maybe know what you're talking about next time before disparaging a fan-base.

The problem is Infinity War spends zero time at all catching people up to speed on the MCU. All three of those play into the plot very significantly. I loved the movie, but I think people need to go in with those movies (and Civil War) under their belt. All of them are great movies, and don't deserve to be Wikipedia spoiled.

True but if you don't have the time, a Wiki entry is the best bet

Also, it is a fantastic movie. My favorite Thor movie (I REALLY enjoyed the first one also) and probably my favorite MCU movie of them all. Chris Hemsworth can have me any time he wants!

That fan base (bandwagons) you speak of will die just as it was before the SB, they will all leave to the next winning team especially as the hawks keep losing. As for noise, they have been known to pump it through the speakers just as they did in the Kingdome, actually played there I know its loud, and been a Washingtonian for almost 50 years, so do know what I'm talking about. And for ratings they have taken a noise dive since their losing ways after the SB and especially for them being the 2nd most protesting team. More ppl support the military then the seahawks, bad move on their part. You will see the teams crack down this year, due to the millions if not billions lost last year.

Ragnarok is definitely a great film in its own right, and I'm glad they let Thor be a little less serious compared to the first movie and the fish-out-of-water theme.

The first Guardians is still my absolute favorite for a variety of reasons, followed closely by Winter Soldier, but Ragnarok is certainly worthy of being a favorite too.

It still bugs the ever living hell out of me Marvel has figured out how to make stars out of a talking tree, talking raccoon, everyone in Black Panther and many others. Yet WB still can't figure out Superman or Batman. I Don't understand how five years in and they still can't grasp what to do.

Totally, because it's only been years the Seahawks were in the running for the SB that they set Guiness World Records or were amateurly ranked the loudest. It also wasn't being reported on 30 years ago, so it's clearly just a flavor of the month fad.

Again, if you don't know anything about one of the most popular sports franchises on the west coast, maybe just stay out of the conversation.

My brother talked me into buying FC5 last weekend, but neither of us have booted it up yet. Therefore, it should go on sale next date night. You're welcome.

We have kept losing.

We had a disappointing season last year. The team's performance will be worse next year. We will finish third, if not last, in the Division.

But that won't change the fact that we will sell out the stadium, buy the team merchandise, watch the games on television, and have warranted such a broad following that we will appear on the maximum allowable primetime games next season.

Perhaps you heard of the Kingdome. It was loud, too. That's going back decades - back when we typically were doing nothing of relevance. But we supported the team nonetheless. We have street-cred, man.

I simply started my Seattle mention two posts ago to reply to a CAG's question that yes - another NHL team is coming. And yes - unfair as it is, we are likely to get a favorable roster. That's it. That's the only reason I mentioned Seattle. So please stop the fan-bashing negativity. Let me do my thing and you do your's.

Let's drop it and get back to games.
