Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Kind of? If you go to https://www.xbox.com/en-US/promotions/xbox-quests There is a link to check your progress. However it says may not be real-time data. Which is clearly true since it is still showing last months quests, and it shows I hadn't added all 5 friends yet which I did weeks before the end of the month.
Thanks! I tried looking on the website and was not successful. This isn't part of the rewards program, correct? We're not losing this when that ends? I've slept on the quests and never done them, should've paid more attention to them. All I had to do for last month was add the friends, did the other two without trying.

Overwatch is selling a special skin for breast cancer research. $15, available through the 21st. Also a shirt for $30, and a ton of charity streams from the community over the next two weeks, which you can unlock in game sprays and icons for watching. It looks pretty good.
Glad to see a special skin for my main and proceeds going to a charity. Put the first stream on while at work, should get me all but the last tier of in game rewards.

Just for kicks I checked the link. I was one friend short for last month's quests. "soy un perdedor ..."

I honestly don't know. I've seen people speculating all over. Some think it will be gone, others are hoping they will bring back the tangible prizes like 1 month codes and other stuff. I stopped caring about it and the Gamepass Quests once they only offered the raffle entries. I only kept my Game Pass sub as long as I did because the Quests basically paid for it.

I just bought the $1 game pass for a month. I thought I saw someone saying there was an easy way to show which games you don't have installed from Gamepass

Well you're all welcome. Like SR2 I didn't bite on the speculative chance it became BC and it immediately did. I take personal and cashiers checks.

Just scroll over to My Games & Apps. The Games With Gold and Game Pass games you don't have installed will be on the bottom of the left sidebar.

This reminds me of when The Behemoth gave out the Pink Knight for Castle Crashers. She was arguably the best one too, since her magic was rainbows. Makes me sad that she's not in the remaster for the One.

Went ahead and bit on Burnout Revenge. Had $5 spacebucks and believe it or not but it was my first time needing to use the 360 to use credit. Probably never bought a 360 game neither.

Thanks also for the reminder about the game pass $1 deal!

Physical copy of Burnout Revenge trades for $6 at GS with Pro. Think I’m going trade and get digital. Need to have immediate access to one of my all time favorites.

In celebration of Burnout Revenge going BC, the first person to quote this will get a code for John Wick and John Wick 2 from MS.

Downloaded and playing. As magnificent as ever.

With this, I can pretty much retire my 360 completely. Only major want now is Mark of the Ninja, but maybe we’ll get the remaster that’s coming to Switch.
Pretty sure it’s already been announced as coming to all systems. I think the last trailer that released showed all system logos at the end, as opposed to the first trailer which was Switch only.

Can you give me the one liner on this? Haven't heard anything about it prior to now but looks like I might like it.
supposed to be an episodic series, kinda like the Telltale games, or even like Kings Quest. Point and Click stuff. I like easy going episodic games like that, it's a nice change of pace being sweaty from Gears 4 all the time.

I also bought Raging Justice. I will support anything that tries to bring back the side-scrolling beat-em-up genre, and this game looks like a decent successor to Streets Of Rage.

A bit of randomness Matt Harvey the dark night just got dfa'd and was traded to the reds now.

It's gonna be a dark knight in Cincinnati. ..... dun dun dun

Burnout revenge is BC today

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This may be my first day one BC purchase. I'll have to double check that I don't already have a disc, but I don't even know if I played this one, or which Burnout pre-Paradise it was that I played.

Thank God Burnout Revenge finally went BC, we can get back to OT banter.

Only thing that killed me in this game was the achievement requirements, some of those upper tier races are ridiculously hard. Have never and just accept will never be able to pop those.
Woot! Great game, one of my favorites back in the day. Just FYI for you achievement hunters out there, this has 12 discontinued achievements due to server closures so is impossible to complete at this point. Details here:

Thanks. Have you played the first episode? If so, without spoiling it, what's the premise of the plot?

Searching has done nothing for me, with regards to 360 BC games are they all being enhanced now or is it only the GWG titles that are definitely planned to be enhanced? I know something was said about it, but I can't find anything.

So the Wal Mart Canada pre order page may have leaked a few of the E3 showings...

LOL. Forza Horizon 5? Either that’s proof that this is a fake, Walmart made a mistake typing in the title or MS forgot that there’s another number after 3.

In addition, I'm surprised there'd be another Assassin's Creed so soon. I know there's a new one in development, but for all the investments they've made, thought they were going to try to extend ACO a bit longer.

Really hoping we get a sale on Rory before it gets pulled.  I would buy Burnout now, but it'll be on Access by the time I would get around to playing it.

Alright, news from around the internet.

https://wccftech.com/ea-confirms-anthem-for-march-2019/

Anthem releases March of next year. I don't think the article is guessing right about early access though. Maybe a beta, but the wording from EA at the end of the article just makes me assume a back and forth with the community like other "live service" games generally have. I'm generally weary of March releases, especially from EA, as it seems like this date is often chosen to release as late as possible while still coming out during the current financial year, rather than actually giving a game as much time to cook as needed. See Mass Effect Andromeda and Dragon Age 2 for reference. To be fair though, ME3 released in March as well, it has problems but I don't think being rushed was a major one.

https://venturebeat.com/2018/05/08/ea-ceo-were-pushing-forward-with-loot-boxes-in-face-of-regulation/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

More EA stuff from the same end of year conference call. Basically they are going to be keeping Loot Boxes in at least their sports game because of how ridiculously popular the Ultimate Team modes are, but will be working with the various European regulators to make sure they just skirt the line of what's allowed. I could see Loot Boxes being too much of a headache in core games in the future though, so maybe they'll finally shift to stuff like cosmetics and XP boosters or whatever. It's hard to say, even after the shitstorm Battlefront 2 still sold extremely well, though not quite to projections, and they've definitely made way less than anticipated during the life of the game.

The below aren't my thoughts, just a slightly cut down quote from ResetEra.

https://www.resetera.com/threads/2-3-of-destiny-2%E2%80%99s-warmind-strikes-are-reused-campaign-levels-the-third-is-exclusive-to-playstation.41309/

2/3 of Destiny 2’s Warmind Strikes are reused campaign levels, the third is exclusive to PlayStation
The only new and original Strike is exclusive to PlayStation. These are advertised as new and separate content, same as they are in the original game. However in the new DLC Warmind two of them are literally just the last two campaign levels, with the third and only original content one being exclusive to PlayStation. They did this in Curse of Osiris as well but at least then they changed them up a bit, gave them different dialogue and had the excuse that it was a second run of the simulation. Even then they didn’t literally use the final boss of the campaign as a Strike. I can’t stress enough that this is advertised as separate content to the campaign, just as it is in the base Destiny 2 game. In addition this is in a $20USD expansion.

Finally, this:
https://twitter.com/Wario64/status/994219391997755392

Most of these seem feasible aside from Rage 2 but who knows. I guess it did sell fairly well at least. Dragon Quest 2 would probably be referring to Builders 2, which is currently only announced for PS4 and Switch, so that listing is odd. Obviously Horizon 5 is a mistake. Probably fake, but they are at least being shipped and sold by Walmart rather than some nobody uploading them to troll.

Loaded burnout last night and easily put 2-3 hours into already. It’ll get old but fun for now.
Ditto. Played about the same last night. It’s really a blast and one of those games that you can easily just fire up for a race or two. I miss those kind of more “arcade” type games. Even though Paradise is a good game, I still don’t thing Burnout is a great fit for an open world.

And that sense of speed is second to none. I think on later levels it’s even more blistering than Wipeout games.

Wish they would make a new Burnout, even with new devs since the original crew is all over the place. But doesn’t seem like the Paradise remaster sold well. I think they picked the wrong game to remaster TBH.

TL;DR - I greatly enjoy Destiny and Destiny 2, and while I don't understand or like all of the decisions Bungie and company have made, I'll probably keep maining this game. I guess we look towards the Fall update and hope that Bungie listens to all of the constructive input from this expansion's release.

I haven't played any of the strikes or any Crucible yet, but here are my not-so-hot thoughts on Destiny's latest expansion so far:

  • I heard that we were going to get a new enemy, and I assumed it was with this expansion. Snow-covered Hive is NOT a new enemy to the players, even though I can tell that they are different enough from the original Hive to not be a simple "reskin."
  • The campaign seemed really short and I didn't even know it was over. I'm sure there's more campaign type things to do in the game, and the story that was there was enjoyable, but that was really short.
  • As I mentioned above I haven't done any strikes since reset, but if what that post says is true that is just HORRIBLE. Since CoO did the same thing (re-used campaign missions as strikes, i.e. no new content on :xb1: for strikes) and I'm SURE people complained about it, if Bungie said that the strikes were new content (which is stupid for them to have to say that in the first place) I would love to read where they said that.
  • I've only played the campaign as a Hunter, but the new gear that I've seen for them isn't that great. Maybe playing around with shaders will make it more appealing.
  • I think Bungie might have been too aggressive with the slowing down of leveling up power. I need to do more personal research on this though.
And now some positive things:

  • A lot of the new things to get look really cool to me and I want to get all of them (and with the increased vault space I'll have room for them):
All of the new Exotic Ships
  • All of the new Exotic Sparrows
  • Several of the new Exotic Weapons
  • The new IKELOS themed weapons (I heard them pronounce that word in the game, but they're WRONG)

[*]I really like the Warmind-themed areas of the game. They are a great design. Some of the areas are incredibly massive and make you feel like a tiny part of the whole thing.
When Rasputin speaks in the game, I am genuinely impressed by the effects.
[*]The grind for some of the loot keeps you coming back to the new area. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think I'll like what they did with this.
[*]The new endgame mode, Escalation Protocol, is NO JOKE. Because of the changes Bungie made to the game, us newly leveling Guardians are being thrown into the meat grinder in this mode because we are so much lower level than the mode suggests. I look forward to when I can last more than a few seconds in this!
[*]The new way to unlock ornaments for the Vanguard and Crucible gear is intriguing, and I can't wait to get all of those too.
[*]Ana Bray is a Hunter. #HunterMasterRace

"I already linked my Twitch and Epic account when I claimed the first Twitch Prime Pack. Do I need to claim again to get the current Twitch Prime content?

YES. You must claim each Twitch Prime Pack individually. If you already linked your Twitch and Epic accounts for the previous Twitch Prime loot in Fortnite, log in above to begin the claim process for this content."

I didn't know it was in the preview program, just thought it was in beta but xbox messaged me to let me know it's coming out of preview and if I log into Paladins before the end of the month I'll receive 200 gems as a thank you. I've only ever played it for an hour, so don't know how good 200 gems are. Just thought I'd let anyone that does play to keep an eye out.

Final Fantasy 7 remake shows Xbox One on there... and yeah the Forza Horizon 5 title... seems like it could be fake.
I Can see the Final Fantasy 7 remake coming to the XBox One on the basis that the development cost on that game must be ridiculous. It's been in development for nearly a decade and seems to have so much stop and go that I can see it coming just to recoup some of the cost.
