Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Definitely re-buying Nier but not til later. I was kind of hoping for $40 but even at that price I'd be waiting as it sounds like it's digital only. Just so many other games and it's only been a few months since I first finished it.

I think they slipped up because both Square-Enix's site and the Xbox link provided are giving errors.

EDIT:
Someone on the Nier Reddit found the cached version of Square's page. It also only mentions digital.

I have a confession, which is that I bought a PS4 Pro with trade-in stuff ($80 for my old 40gb ps3? Come one). Just for exclusives, mind. Spider-Man, Uncharteds, etc.

I also got this game, because I thought it was exclusive. This is a wild frigging game. Glad to see they are bringing weird JRPGs (that are also good) to Xbox.
I'm planning on picking up a Pro this week for the same reasons, with the $50 off and grabbing God of War at the very least. In fact i was going to go today but it's raining, guess I'll wait for the Sony press conference at least to seal the deal.

The Mixpot just got a bit better. This is normally $10 and gives you actually decent looking armor in Halo 5 instead of the mostly trash 343 designs that you have to get through random lootboxes. You can grind out 100,000 REQ points to get it normally, but it's not actually available that often.

Well that's debatable.....

You can also get a free platinum req pack a day just for logging into halo 5 today through Thursday. Or so I've been told.

I don't want games, I want features. I'm going to be disappointed if this year is nothing but sequels we knew were coming at some point, and footage of new IP's that aren't coming out for three more years.

So you're just gonna play with features on the console?? I don't even understand this post.

Xbox so desperately needs games at this point that it's not even funny anymore. With Crackdown 3 delayed to February, the ONLY semi-notable exclusive for the rest of the year is Ori. Sony and Nintendo probably have at least a dozen exclusives each when factoring in third-party exclusives.

Exactly. Game pass and all that other shit isn't going to be very useful if they don't start working on a stable of new exciting games.

Slightly off topic but since S and X owners have 4K disc drives, The Matrix is on sale for $18.99 at Best Buy. It released just a few weeks ago for $34.99.

That said it’s not in stock for shipping so you’ll have to have it at your local store (and save another buck).

Forza Horizon 5 should be this year. A game so big it missed a whole number.

It needs exclusive features. Backwards compatibility was a game-changing feature and something I was ecstatic about, and yes, if you want to speak competitively, it did give it an edge over PS4. If someone gave me the option to move all my paid content and games to PS4 for free, I'd decline since PS4 doesn't have BC.

If we get exclusives, they'll be sub-par. That's just how it works and I'm used to that idea now. And I don't need another Assassin's Creed game, I'm three games behind in that series as it is. And anything battle royale is in an instant no from me.

We know there's going to be a new Tomb Raider, a new Forza, a new Wolfenstein or something, I don't know. Their big game-changing reveal might be a new Halo. Yay. I feel like a gaming grandpa at this point, or just extremely pessimistic about today's gaming, or both.

Go to sleep grandpa. You're talking nonsense.

So what features do you want that are missing?

Nothing that comes to my mind. That's for MS to surprise us with. That's why they get the big bucks. Maybe a neat new piece of hardware that's not Kinect that does a cool thing. I'm sure they'll abandon it 6 months after release because they do that, but it'll be an interesting E3.

Your business strategies are...questionable.

Yeah but what's left of Bungie? The MS era Bungie is long gone and they basically fired what was left of the main players from then the Spring before the Destiny 1 launch.

Something else I'd like to see: More indy titles. Perhaps a new title from the people behind Shovel Knight.

Less than an hour to go; time to order a pizza.

LARGE!

Just get a Switch. That's literally the new home of Indies. I want triple A titles on the Xbox.

Although I have been having fun with Steamworld Dig on the Switch. I guess I'm just tired of procedurally generated, metroidvania, and rogue like bullshit.
