Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Miyazaki said that he presented the story the way it is as an homage to western fantasy he read as a kid with a poor grasp of English, so there were always details he had to piece together himself.

That said, I have the opposite view of lore/story. The lore is tied up in obscure references and stuff said one time by an npc, and I just trust VaadiVidya for that stuff. "Prepare to Cry" is some amazing stuff. The story on the other hand I think is extremely straight forward. Most of it is explained in the intro video and by the first two npcs who send you out to ring the bells of awakening. This awakens Frampt who gives you your next goal of slaying the four great lords, which leads to the final battle with the king and the choice to rebuild the world or let it fade.

Hit me up anytime for DS, DSR, or DS3. DS2 is a fine game, but it is certainly the worst of the bunch. Capt Brannigan. Also, the Dark Souls club is pretty active with LFG posts.
Really cool perspective on the story, thank you.

Which dark souls club? On Xbox?

What is LFG post?

I'm sure it's fine but I think a more critical eye is raised at the fact the Xbox one offerings are a 3 year old windows game and a mobile port
I believe Death Squared started out on Switch and PC then consoles then mobile. So wouldn’t call it a mobile port. It was the other way around.

GWG seems ok. More to maybe play with kids

Dark souls, so I’ve been playing it and it really sucks you in. (Only 20 hours so I’m still new)

Three things really stood out to me:
1) if option is quit or look something up, just look it up. Super helpful wikis out there.

2) think of it as experiencing stuff. I laugh at the set up traps. Not because I enjoy punishment but because I can appreciate how they were thinking in design.

3) really taught me a way to separate lore vs story. The story is convoluted and not great in my opinion. The back story of items and why something /someone is there is really interesting. I’ve never seen a game that item descriptions matter so much.

Please try it. I would suggest with a friend that you can ask questions. Get through some of that barrier of understanding.

Welcome, brother! DS1 was the first game I ever 1000/1000. It started out as spite, but then I just couldn’t stop playing.

Actually I am looking forward to Death Squared. Sounds like a fun puzzle co-op game. Saw it when the Kinda Funny crew played it.

Hmm...Forza Horizon 2 complete add on collection on sale for $23.....I bought the standard for $5 while the ultimate was also on sale for $12. What's the difference between the add on collection and ultimate? Is $23 going too far when $12 for ultimate would have been the better choice?

The Ultimate edition comes with VIP (double credit bonus on wheel spins) and a car pass which covered the first 6 car pack DLCs (5 cars each) and an exclusive car. The complete add-ons collection includes the Ultimate edition stuff plus another 6 car packs (1 with 10 cars instead of 5), the Storm Island expansion (different location with races, bucket list, etc.), the Porsche expansion (which is basically a car pack that included achievements and bucket list items) and a treasure map that highlights the bonus boards on the map. Nothing in the Ultimate edition covered the extra stuff that added achievements to the game, if that's an important factor for you.

So if you take the $5 for the base game from that sale, the $12 for the Ultimate could've broken down to $1 per car pack and $1 for VIP. Or $2 for VIP and $5 for the car pass, since the pass is touted as 6 packs for the price of 5. Complete collection has 11 5 car packs (~$11), VIP ($1 or $2), 1 10 car pack ($2), Storm Island ($8 on sale now). That's about $22, with $1 left for Porsche (10 cars plus the extra stuff) and the treasure map. Pricing structure seems to break down roughly evenly based on the content involved. It's mostly adding more cars to the game.

Ya, you can find Clubs at the top of the Community tab. "Dark Souls Club" has the most members. If you select a club, on the multiplayer tab you can view Looking For Group posts. You can also find LFG posts for a specific game by selecting it, hitting start, and then going to the Game Hub. That will have it's own LFG posts, possibly including posts from Clubs?

Pretty sure Clubs and LFG are core parts of the dash by now, that or I'm so deep in the preview program that I might as well be on next gen. Speaking of which, Groups are highly functional and I like them. That is all, terminate social activity.

Bloomy's got it all down. Storm Island does often go on sale for $5 and the Porsche Pack does too, I believe. The season pass and VIP go on sale some as well, but a lot of packs don't and I think a few never have gone on sale so if you want to get everything a good sale on the complete collection is the way to go. Also, Forzas have been getting delisted in August every year for the last four years and it's FH2's turn. It happens without warning every year, except one and only that year because people asked on the forums noting the trend. This may be the last sale on FH2 stuff, especially the complete collection. It goes on sale occasionally while the other FH2 stuff has gone on sale more frequently. There may be another sale, but this is late July and I doubt the complete collection goes below 80% off. According to storeparser, this is only the third sale on the complete collection and the last two times it was $30.

Live look in of June and July’s GWG line up racing to see which one is worse.

You're killing me, who won?

Why the hate for these GWGs, especially the 360 ones? OK, so the Xbone ones aren't household names, but there's only been positive things said about them from those that have played them and both 360 games are very good quality. I know they're old, but ALL 360 games are old now. If you want new ones, all you'll get are Just Dance 2018. With the backogs most of the people in this thread have most everyone should have gotten them for a few bucks years ago and yet there's lots of complaining from people who don't have them. But that's just my opinion and we all got em!

As much as gamepass is a great value I haven't found much recently that I wanted to play lol. I think maybe one title a month if that lately.

Really wish Abzu got the X patch like the Pro patch. I'm almost tempted to go through Shadow Complex Remastered... maybe I'll give it another whirl. Loved the game on the 360.

Assault Android Cactus is godlike. If you even remotely enjoy twin-stick shooters at all, you should be excited for that.
I'm pissed I hadn't heard of the game until today's announcement. I'm a twin-stick shooter fanatic and have been since the days of Smash TV and Total Carnage. I would've bought the game full price if I had any idea it previously existed.

NES Classic/Mini is back out today, Best Buy currently has them in stock as of right now.

Even though I got the SNES and it can be loaded with all manner of games, I want both of them and the controller that goes with it.

I was able to get one online but I going to check out a target near me before work. I want instant gratification.

I have all the horizon 3 content, is it worth $23 to get everything for Forza 2? I know that's subjective but what I'm looking for is an opinion from someone who has both....do you ever go back and play 2, or do you stick with 3?

I only play FH3 really. I played through FH2 after I played FH3. I think I played the DLC but would have to check. With FH4 coming out in the fall and on Game Pass I really can't see going back to FH2 anymore.

I still play the Forzathons (did it this morning) in FH3 even though I have all the rewards they are giving. Once FH4 comes out I probably will just play that unless the screw it up or something.

Yesterday in State of Decay 2

with less then 9 mins left Alexander finally became unbusy and I was able to check in Dimitri to the health clinic like Alexander kept telling me to do.  He is the doc after all.  So stupid.  Half the time Alexander was sitting in a chair or leaning against the wall doing jack shit. I assume if I didn't check him in before the counter expired I would have failed the mission and would have had to do it all over.

I think I finished the mission after that in like 15 mins and got another recruit.  Hopefully the stupid shit gets better or I am doing to delete it.

You're pissed that you're getting a game you're really interested in for free in a matter of days instead of having to pay full price for it? Shouldn't you pretty ecstatic right about now? It's a good thing you hadn't heard of it.

Saw a Toys R Us loading shelving into a big truck.

I just looked up store closings:

Chipotle - 65 stores
Starbucks - 150 stores
H&R Block - 400 stores
Kroger - 14 stores
Sears and Kmart - 63 more stores

No video game retailers right now! Looks like we are still good to go!

lol yeah because I would've given them my money directly at release. I mean, don't get it twisted, it's cool that I'll get to play it for "free", but I bought games like Tesla Vs Lovecraft, Ultratron, and Crimsonland at full price. Usually they're only like $15, so what the hell, I figure why not show the devs some love.

Also make sure you are signed up for Forza Rewards.  Applies to FH2, FH3, FM5, FM6, and FM7.  Never really felt like I needed in game money except at the very beginning even though I wasn't VIP in FH3.  By the time I got around to playing FH2 I had plenty of cash.  Also had VIP for that game though.

I think this is the correct link.  Not fully loading for me at the moment.

lol yeah because I would've given them my money directly at release. I mean, don't get it twisted, it's cool that I'll get to play it for "free", but I bought games like Tesla Vs Lovecraft, Ultratron, and Crimsonland at full price. Usually they're only like $15, so what the hell, I figure why not show the devs some love.
Just a heads up you can still "buy to own" GWG titles if you want to support the dev.

You could pull a Pat, and buy a copy to give away here. Just saying... :)

NES Classic/Mini is back out today, Best Buy currently has them in stock as of right now.

Even though I got the SNES and it can be loaded with all manner of games, I want both of them and the controller that goes with it.
I wonder if Nintendo put in a new stop to downloading more games on this one? Although I'm sure hackers will figure something out,

Tesla v Lovecraft is a twin stick shooter?! I've never bothered to watch any videos. Looks pretty interesting. Of course I'm a sucker for twin stick shooters! Now do I wait for a sale or pay full price?

If you like dual-stick shooters, 10tons makes a bunch of good ones (Crimsonland, Jydge, Neon Chrome, Tesla vs Lovecraft) that have their own twists.
