Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Oh they've done GWG with glitched achievements a lot, one of the ATX Reflex Duran Duran whatever games comes to mind with like half of the achievements disabled. The thing to worry about with Toy Soliders War Chest is I hear it doesn't even run, like won't get past the loading screen start menu. It's actually shameful it's still being sold.
There was also Army of Two that had all its co-op achievements turned off due to server closure.

Finished Assault Android Cactus last night after a few attempts. That game is basically Contra and Smash TV with horde mode, with lots of memorization and a little luck. Had fun getting some extra achievements afterward, but some of them are way too much for me / would take many hours. Still, plenty fun, and a game I'd never have tried if not for GWG.

Now play Riddled Corpses EX, your past history makes it sound like you have a couch co-op partner, that's the Smash TV game

Every time GGP finishes another game that I'm still slowing making my way through the levels - Assault Android Cactus this time - I age 2 more years. I know I'm bad at gaming but dang! Good job in finishing your games, you are my hero. :)

Overlord going BC basically confirms that list I posted earlier.

Nier Rumble Roses Double X Final fantasy XIII (the first of the trilogy) ZOE HD RUSE Just Cause 1 RE Code veronica Greg Hasting's Paintball 2 Aliens Vs. Predator Overlord 1

Multiple people on resetera saying No Man's Sky is coming to gamepass on release. Guess we'll find out in a few hours.

Hmm do I really need the download of rocksmith?
Looks like it's the first time going on sale.
I'm sure I still have my disc laying around somewhere for the 360. It should still work right?

it's been on sale several times and this matches it's all-time low price. i remember waiting for a long time before it got this low.

I have about a month to decide on the new The Walking Dead game coming out and with the pre-order bonus of The Walking Dead Collection, it might be a good buy. Any thoughts on the bundle deal being worth it or wait for individual sales down the road and/or freebies per possible future monthly Games With Gold events?

This list make my loins quite lively, knowing that it may come true.

season 1 and season 2 have already been GWG, so I don't think the collection is ever going to be, the fresh achievement list is a pretty nice factor as well

Anyone redeem the Hot Deal on MS Rewards for Live? Do the codes expire? I just redeemed for one and don't see an expiration mentioned in the email, which seems unusual for MS. They love their short redemption windows.

Not watching the show. So We Happy Few is coming to Gamepass?
Don't think you're getting that one very oddly, Rocket League and Vermintiede II, don't blame the developer for wanting to sell actual copies of No Man's Sky, not sure why MS is half stepping on these new "acquisitions" like We Happy Few after the develpere pickup was annouced at E3, at some point Phil has to say I'm dying out here we have these rights wtf we doing Play Anywhere let's go. Sensua would of been great.

Unfortunately, these developers have preexisting publisher deals that have to be honored.

I was thinking about picking it up and borrowing my roommates guitar to try it out until I found out you can't use third party cables for it and the one ubisoft made goes for $40ish on amazon and ebay. Looks like the game and cable combo can be bought for $50ish.

Long day for xbox mistakes, I'm in the skip ahead alpha preview ring and evidently the update they sent out yesterday or the day before had some huge problem with it so the update that hit tonight forced a factory reset. Not a full one, all my games were still there, but it was a 3gb download plus the process of updating the settings and another 700mb update to boot. It also unlinked all apps so that'll be fun at 2am when I want to watch Futurama.

They did add a thing I've never seen before, as my console was downloading the setup process update it let me log into the xbox app and finish the setup before the download was installed. Probably only saved a minute from the process but was kinda cool.
I got that damn update on Sunday and it wrecked my X. Took about three times to download it and then it messed up AC: O so badly that it would freeze after ~5 mins each time I tried it. I reverted to the Alpha ring and that fixed things. Think I'll stay out of the Skip Ahead group for a while.

Any opinions on Sniper Ghost Warrior 3?

Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
If you’re really wanting a sniper game it will do, since that’s what the game does best. I found the gameplay to be pretty satisfying, but I lost interest halfway through and never finished it. It is not a AAA title and you can definitely tell, but if you know that going in it’s no big deal.

I’d probably recommend waiting until it hits $10 or lower, that’s what I’m doing. But like I said if you’re itching for a sniper game now then $16 isn’t bad at all.

To owners on Rocksmith 2014 on Xbox One. Is it possible to still do the disc import from the first Rocksmith which I played and actually still own on 360.

I dug up my cable and game because of the discussion here and the sale makes the game awfully enticing.

Also, do they ever do sales on the DLC?

Thank you. Have too many games right now. I'll wait for the lower drop

To anyone considering Rocksmith 2014: if you have a PC even somewhat capable of playing games, get it there. I'm not PC Master Race, Xbox is my home, but unfortunately it's nearly impossible to have a lag-free experience with Rocksmith on current-gen consoles. That and the DLC is super expensive, never goes on sale, and the PC version has custom DLC. I play the XB1 version occasionally trying to finish achievements, but if I'm trying to actually learn a song, my PC version is my go-to. It may even be the only Steam game I have installed right now.

If you absolutely must have it on a console, stick with the 360 version and use standard AV cables, or if your setup somehow allows it, wired headphones. HDMI and/or optical audio make the latency horrendous. If there's a song that requires fast strumming, the audio latency will throw you off. Guaranteed.

Don't think it ever was on sale, looked at it right after the Major Nelson post, so maybe wait a day or two
It was initially on Major’s list but has since been removed. The 360 dashboard also had the game listed under the sales tab but it’s also gone, though the DwG tile is still a picture of the game.

Looks like a $15 price drop on the Destiny 2 expansion pass to $19.99. Considering this after ordering the game on the cheap from Best Buy (Thanks to whoever pointed that out). Anyone have any thoughts on whether the pass is worth $20?
If you are enjoying the game enough to get serious into it, that is a pretty good price for the two already released expansions. I've mentioned before that Expansion I, Curse of Osiris, is a bit of a dud but it does have some neat things to it. Expansion II, Warmind, improves greatly upon CoO. Knowing what I know about these expansions, I would think that this is a pretty good price for them.

FYI - You don't need Exp. I to be able to play Exp. II, but you will need both I & II in order to play III (Forsaken) when it releases in September. Also, if you dig the PvP mode in the game (Crucible), you'll be able to play on the maps from ALL expansions without having to own said expansions.

If you want more specific info on the game, feel free to reply here or PM me (depending on how in-depth you want to get).

Free DLC for Overlord --> Split Screen Pack

Download this free update to play head-to-head in the great new Split Screen mode (you’ll need two controllers). Plus a new Survival map – Rocky Race, in which you’ll have to escape from an advancing Super Rock Giant!. Select as you would another map and enjoy!

If you route your sound output to a speaker using optical it'll reduce the lag time considerably ;)

I still have the game on my Mac as well, back when I was into the custom DLC scene. Then I realized most of the custom DLC out there was complete garbage.

For anyone considering the digital download, it should come with a free 5-song pack. You probably won't care about those 5 songs but it's about a $12 value if you were to just buy the DLC pack, so you're getting a pretty good deal with 16. I'd just get it to be lazy though and not have to switch out discs.

I'm tempted to pick up toy soldiers but the standard and legendary edition have been on sale in the last month for the first time I think. Makes me think it's a good candidate for games with gold. Have they given a GwG with glitches achievements before?
Don't buy this game. You can only play the tutorial before it is broken. This is a known bug for 3 years. Ubisoft sucks.

So I guess the theory that fhey’d announce the Ultimate Summer Sale during the Inside Xbox show was blown to shit. Where the fuck is our sale dammit!?!?

All the sales and deals on Destiny 2 really have me wondering why the base game at least isn’t free to play at this point. The way they push the expansions and Eververse (at least how much it was when I stopped playing initially) I’m sure they would still make some money on it. Also, the $40/$70 model they have for the year 2 stuff is kinda garbage. I’ll wait until the Rise of Iron-like complete edition on sale in another year and a half.
