Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I thought running out of ammo was sort of the whole Halo series thing, not something regulated to 4
It seemed to be a bigger problem with Halo 4. Either they took out dual wielding, or gun swapping, or both. I've been playing Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon lately and while the games take different approaches to the first person shooter, I appreciate that I'm not constantly running out of ammo in Blood Dragon. Even when I do, I can just switch to another weapon.

I Hope my VCR XBox can handle the cutting edge graphics and hardware demands of these games if I win this.

You're not seriously saying they took the Favella map out of MW2 multi-player are you? I don't know the truth on this, but I loved that map.

EDIT: I just remembered the story on this. It was temporarily removed because there was apparently some offensive picture that needed to be edited out.
Yeah but I'm not sure if it ever got added back in :???: , but now thats it's BC I can play it tonight after work and find out on my own :D/

I never had an issue with ammo in the Halo franchise, having beat all of therm besides 5 which I haven't started. I even held on to my preferred weapon in each game and only swapped the second weapon I would end up with. Granted, I never played much of the franchise higher than Normal difficulty, I was never good enough, nor had any friends to play it with. My girlfriend wants to play the MCC on easy.

I distinctly recall running low on / out of ammo REGULARLY in ODST.

I thought Reach was by FAR the best
This. Reach, ODST a close (CLOSE) second (I love that damn game), and then 3. 4 is trash. I played the MP a while because friends were and it was kinda easy but honestly hated the game overall. 5 isn’t bad and I’m hoping Infinite brings it back where it should be. Agree they should contract Marty for the music and get Joe Staten back on board as a writer. He did one of the expanded universe novels not too long ago and he works for MS in some capacity so it shouldn’t be too hard.

Edit: actually I think ODST is #1 followed closely by Reach. Ask me again in a day or two though and the answer might change. I love them both.

Really I don't think there are many games like Automata to compare it to. The main reason I praise this game so much is just how unique it is, while still maintaining excellent gameplay. If you stick all the way through the E ending, you will have an experience that can only be delivered in the medium of video games. I think a lot of other games that have strong storytelling sacrifice on the gameplay side of things in one way or another, or simply try to take too much inspiration from films.

If you've had GWG for a while I think Bayonetta is probably the closest comparison for the combat. Nier is basically a simplified version of this, but with a few extra elements thrown in, the option to customize your abilities, and not nearly as difficult. It also has many twin-shooter sections. Where it stands out is the inclusion of quests and many side things to do which are very in line with a lot JRPGs, along with excellent storytelling.
i think ill play bayonetta and see if i like it then decide on nier

Great Collection....thanks for the awesome giveaways. They bring a little spice to the deals thread for sure.

Halo looks quite nice 4k. That being said the multiplayer playlists suck right now. No grifball no infection no swat.

FIFA 18 is $6?

pretty sure the new one is coming out very soon.
^^ This right here. FIFA 19 Standard is out on September 28th. Champions and Ultimate Editions are available for download three days early on September 25th if either version is pre-ordered physical or digital. FIFA isn't a sports game I buy every year so $6 for last year's release is just right for me.

In the blog post the other day, they had a screen shot for adjusting the HDR, and I'm finding nothing for that in the package. You come across that?

Exactly, I don't follow soccer so rosters don't matter to me but $6 seems like the right price. I still like NFL 17 and NHL 18. I like to buy them cheap instead of worrying about EA Access.

Also, I'm always compelled to mention that Disney Afternoon Collection suffers from crippling stuttering, like your playing the game online via a laggy connection. I don't know if Capcom patched it, but it was enough for me to  stop playing like it.

CoD Modern Warfare 2 going backwards compatible is nice for all those requesting it. I have 0/4 of those September GWG freebies, but only Lego Star Wars Clone Wars interests me. Hopefully the game pass additions are decent, otherwise September will be a meh month. Good thing I jumped on that gamefly offer of $1/mo. Injustice 2 and A Way Out should be arriving later this week for me. Woot

I honestly don't remember much from the game. I got it on launch (Wasn't as much of a cheap ass as I am now) and as far as I remember I only played the campaign once. Was not amused by the lack of shields. Played FF a bunch though with my preorder exclusive Sgt. Johnson skin. Anybody know if that transfers to the MCC version, or if it is just included?

I had to learn to quit buying sports games every. More often than not it's a full price roster update with a few tweaks. I didn't buy Madden 18 until it was $8 for PS4 during a sale. I had Madden 18 physical for XB1, traded it in recently though. Still have Madden 17 physical so I'm good there.

I'm still waiting for NHL 18 to hit the "just right" price, $13 still feels a little too high for it. The only sports games I care about right now and have pre-ordered are NBA Live 19 for PS4 and NBA 2K19 for XB1. I know it's not popular opinion but I'm excited for both this year.

Edit: I don't want to have to deal with EA Access either, that's $5 I can use for other games and such.

I splurged on NHL 18 when it was $20 to play as the Golden Knights. Have to represent my home team.

I've been cutting back on my monthly subs. I get Xbox Gold free from Bing, I still have Amazon Prime and Netflix but no other tv, cancelled Hulu when I saw we had watched 10 hours in 12 months of subscription. Just started Spotify because we needed something for music. The number of things that want your monthly sub is just getting insane. You really have to pick and choose if your not a baller.

I spent $24 on NHL 18 back in December to play the expansion draft mode I loved back in NHL 99-2002, and have regrets. The gameplay doesn’t seem all that better since NHL 12 (last one I bought), HUT is infuriating, and the AI is awful. The number of times I’ve had a wide open player lose a clean pass in his skates or had Braden Holtby give up a big rebound that conveniently goes to the one player on the ice with a wide open net have me hating this game.

There’s no firefight in the MCC. Big fail but I love the campaign so much that I’ve dealt with it.

nba 2k19 good choice thats the only sports game i buy every year even though they put out unfinished and crappy laggy game

Also, I received a note a few days ago at TA.com mentioning "FIFA 18 Achievements" will be closing on 9/3, well before FIFA 19 comes out. I'm not sure if this is just the online achievements being unobtainable or something like the servers themselves going away (FYI, the subject of that message is "Server Closures." Caveat Emptor.

It’s just a couple achievements tied to FUT events being discontinued. Same thing is happening in NHL and HUT. The game will still be playable online, no servers are being closed.

Think of it like those timed events in Gears 3 and Judgment.

I hate my younger self so much right now, went to download MW2 and realized I must of owned it physically, because it’s not in my download list. What a buffoon my younger self was

Weren't those Star Wars Lego games released in trilogies? I could have sworn I had them all together in one disc.
The first two games were the prequel trilogy and original trilogy. The third game was the complete saga of 1-6. Fourth game (called lego star wars 3) was clone wars. The newest is just episode 7 I believe.

I found that in Options & Career > Settings > Video > Adjust HDR Settings.
Yeah where one would obviously think it would be, showed up on mine as "Adjust Brightness". So then it got even weirder, somehow "allow 4k" got turned off on my Xbox One X, rechecked the box to allow it and when I went back into Halo it was the Adjust HDR settings. Only thing I messed with yesterday was that game and I have no idea if it could actually override my Xbox System Settings to turn 4k off but if anyone else runs into an issue, take a look in there.

nba 2k19 good choice thats the only sports game i buy every year even though they put out unfinished and crappy laggy game
And even then I'm still excited for it, lol. I hyped about NBA Live 19 because of how much progress I saw EA Sports had made with Live 18. Only other sports game I've bought day one for the last two years is MLB The Show for PS4.

The prelude/demo for NBA 2K19 is coming this Friday, if you're interested in checking it out.

I'm hoping the NBA 2k team learned their lesson last year after not including achievements. Not holding my breath though.

From comments on TA it looks like the closure of Champions won't actually affect any achievements.

HOw long will FIFA 18 get roster updates? I could do $6 to just play a few games with the Sounders and Man. U if the rosters stay up to date for a bit.
I would guess that roster updates were done when last season(s?) ended.

There’s no firefight in the MCC. Big fail but I love the campaign so much that I’ve dealt with it.
I loved Halo 3: ODST. I played through the campaign multiple times and I spent a lot of hours on firefight local coop. You aren't as hardy as Master Chief, and it made facing two Hunters a real thrill. A regular Covenant patrol of Brutes, Jackals and Grunts could overwhelm you if weren't careful. Ammo for UNSC weapons was in short supply compared to other Halo games, which meant you had to pick up and use Covenant weapons.

That said I don't know if I can get myself to play it again on Xbox One. I played it a lot back in its day and there are just so many other games to play. Not having firefight in MCC blows, as it would have been easier to get into that.

Uhh... that's pretty jacked up. What would make them do something so dumb? For people invested in completing any game the lack of achievements can be a deal breaker. I don't really go after achievements in games unless I really enjoy it and want to fully complete it.

So......anyone play Strange Brigade? Never heard of it but a friend keeps peer pressuring me into buying it. Looks like it's from the Sniper Elite devs which I like, but I don't like the  DLC and season pass nonsense.

They’re referring to the NBA 2K Prelude gme, which is a glorified demo that lets you carry some progress over to the main game. The game itself had achievements, but the 2K17 Prelude was an easy 1000G for those who were interested, while the 2K18 Prelude did not have any achievements.
