Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Good news about the walking dead final season, TL:DR the new team at Skybound started work today, you don't have to buy anything again if you already purchased the season.
Hey that's awesome news. Glad to hear that they are working it out.

Unrelated, the best Xmas album bar none is Easy-E's Merry MuthaShaqfu Xmas. The missus and I listen to it or at least reference it every year. Good times.

I see what you're saying I think, I dunno, Hitman 2 is having a helluva time importing the Hitman 1 games I bought level by level as they were released. When they got rid of that earlier "free" thing they just ended up nuking everything. I guess it would have the same launcher, maybe, but your license would already be taken away with a refund.

I wonder if this applies to those who got refunds from Xbox when the initial news broke. Would that be something they can track?
Xbox refunds usually take away the license for said game. I believe Steam does the same, and I don't think Sony allows refunds.

If the game is finished, I'll probably re-buy it.

This is based on sales in the UK but kind of funny that the Spyro remasters sold more than Fallout 76.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-11-19-spyro-sold-more-physical-copies-at-launch-than-fallout-76

And wow, didn’t realize how bad Fallout reviews have been so far. Not that many yet but the PS4 version has a 46 on Metacritic.

Honestly I didn’t have that much interest in it.
They should have pulled a Rockstar and had a dedicated SP campaign like a traditional Fallout game, and then added MP with some crossover in items, progression, etc.

Or a hub like Destiny where there's a lot you can do solo that feels SP even if it's a dynamic online world. Everything I've heard about it sounds like an okay MMO but not what anyone wants in a FO game.

I've played a bit of 76. The worst problems I've had are randomly stopping to load which fortunately hasn't happened in a fight and it froze once. My friend got stuck on a quest and couldn't figure out how to advance so he looked it up and apparently a decent amount of people are having that particular quest glitch and it doesn't advance when it should.

I have had fun with it playing with my friend and getting into trouble a few times. He's at least 5 levels ahead of me and kept dying on a quest so I went to help him, little did I know half the enemies were a few levels higher than he was so they were like 10+ levels above me. We died like 5 times but eventually were able to do it.

It's not a perfect game and there are decent amount of things I hope they change but so far I don't regret spending $45 on it.

As far as xbox sales go, I deleted the 5 or so games in my cart. I don't think I'll be getting more than what I've bought already: QUBE 2, thumper and a pig controller from the microsoft store.

I love the Fallout universe never played the original PC Fallout game (read all the back stories though) but I've 100%ed 3,4 and most of NV.... I understand how 76 isn't everyone's cup of tea and there are some improvements to be made but I'm still having a blast with it despite the fact I haven't had many steady teammates. I think working with your buddies is what would really make things fun...

Here's a pretty decent interview with inXile's founder regarding the acquisition. I didn't realize he announced his retirement last year, so I guess we'll see if he sticks to his statement here of planning to be around for a long time.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-11-19-inxile-acquired-by-microsoft-the-interview

I think you're overestimating Bethesda's actual abilities. They've essentially made one game over and over since Morrowind, with a different skin every other time. Their strong suit has always been environmental story-telling and it seems like that's the one thing they got right in 76. I don't know if they really look at other games and take a lot of ideas from them, the only thing that really comes to mind is the voiced protagonist in 4 clearly being inspired by the Bioware way of doing things. Seems like they took some basic stuff for 76 from survival games, and maybe Borderlands in terms of how co-op and PVP works, but didn't fully understand what does and doesn't work about how those elements are implemented.

But yeah, I think best case scenario would have at least been a traditional main quest, maybe with fewer (not zero) NPCs to help draw you in, and then have all the other elements designed with multiplayer in mind. Things like side or radiant quests and general exploration that are semi-mindless to begin with, as well as the public events, boss battles, and Nuke endgame. Another thing I think really hurts the concept of humans are all players, is that you can not set up permanent settlements. There can't be any real player made towns or trading posts with longevity because your CAMP isn't persistent, it's basically a world reset whenever you log in, in that regard.

My CAG fellow racers - I just started FH4 and I know it's been mentioned a while back but what is the CAG Team name to join? I couldn't seem to find it.

Here's to hoping a slew of 360/one games get a big dlc sale tonight.

If you just started you wont be able to find it, you have to finish the tutorial first. Have to get over level 20 and get your Horizon band so you can connect to the "real world" then you can join the team.

Thanks, guys. I was confusing joining a Team for the Club but I will keep Club Name for when I reach that level. I was searching for CheapAssGamer and found a few drivers with (CAG).

For that one guy who has been waiting for the Sniper Elite 4 season pass to go on sale, this is your week.

It's on sale for $17,50 (50% off). The individual DLC missions are $3,50 each.

Anyone with FM7 know what sort of delay the forza level badges have? I hit reward level 10 today and I still don't have anything over 8 unlocked.

Saw on RESETERA that Halo 4 was the best selling 360 title on the NPD/US charts on the retrocharts for exclusives only.

Halo Reach also outsold Halo 3. That's crazy to me considering all the hype Halo 3 had. That also means 343 had the best selling Halo lol.

It’s probably because of the larger install base. By the time Reach came out, you could get copies of Halo 3 really cheap

Thanks, guys. I was confusing joining a Team for the Club but I will keep Club Name for when I reach that level. I was searching for CheapAssGamer and found a few drivers with (CAG).
Do you have an xbox friend in CAG? They can send you an invite and you can join (you get an xbox message outside the game) right away. Someone had invited me before I started playing it and I had CAG drivatars from the start.

I'm wondering the same thing. I've been stuck on 7 for a while and I'm on Tier 41.

Difficult to say since the names here don't match the ones on Live.

Edit - sorry, too many things going on. I'm actually on Tier 9 Forza Score wise. Tier 41 is for FM7.

Halo 4 shouldn't have existed.

It's pretty mind boggling if it's going by revenue as well. Granted all those Halo 3 Legendary ended up going for dirt cheap. I ended up picking one up for $20 years after 3's release.

Halo 3 was supposed to be the last one. But it appears people did NOT want Halo to end. Halo 4 sales justified that, and Reach outselling Halo 3 was pretty big to.

Makes me wonder how big Halo Infinite is going to be, especially if they ever get a Battle Royale mode.

If you have Game Pass, I recommend checking out Rime. I booted it up just to get an achievement for the punchcard and ended up playing the whole thing. It's not a long game, like 6 hours or so. It def takes some inspiration from Ico but thankfully no helpless companion along for the ride. Puzzles are fun though not super challenging. Platforming isn't frustrating cuz you always respawn more or less right where you died.

Halo 4 had the second best campaign in the series. I'll hear arguments for third. But lower than that is incorrect.

I got stuck on rime and just deleted it. Something about a fox painting on a wall . I ran around for a hour and said eh oh well.

I got bored with it quickly as well. It looks beautiful and I love the art style(it reminds me of Wind Waker.) I downloaded Abzu and got a fish to spin while I was holding onto it for to get the achievement for the last unlock of the quest.

Seconded. A very poignant ending, beautiful soundtrack, and gorgeous art style. I find some of the puzzles a little obtuse (usually not knowing where to go), but I would say it is worth it to push through to the end.

Anyone know what is going on with Ori and the Blind Forest? It says it is unavailable through the xbox or website.

I know it is scheduled for game pass, but I figured I would finally add it to the backlog.

I really enjoyed Rime, but man the ending was brutal. It's one of those "artistic" games like Journey that some will appreciate and some will not.

I highly recommend Rime. Rime was one of the most emotional gaming experiences for me, personally. Probably because I have a child. I cried a lot. And if you think back or play it second time, you will know and truly appreciate what each aspect and element of the game signifies. The game consists of several chapters, each of which correlates to each psychological step of grieving process - and the game uses symbolism and imagery to describe such. I don't like to be a spoiler so I will stop my review there... (Maybe I already did.)

Reach had the best story in the series but Halo 4 definitely had the worst campaign structure in the series. There's only so many times you can run from point a to point b and press a button to defend Cortana before it gets tiring af.

Hmmm, I'm not entirely sure based on your post, but I have a pretty decent idea now. Maybe spoilery? But Im not sure

Hehe, since it came out a long time ago and was given away as Playstation Plus free game, I thought a little bit of spoiling wouldn't be too bad as long as it interests someone.
