It was briefly brought up last night, but some Xbox accounts are getting an Xbox message with $5 saying to shop the Black Friday sale. It's worth checking additional accounts to see if you got it.
 
I completed the achievements for the Game Pass quest yesterday.  Got 3 stars on all but one of the PR stunts in FH4.  That damn S Bend drift zone north of the festival.  Got 86k where 90k is needed.  Finally gave up on that and tried the Tortoise and Hare.  Progress showed me at 50% complete, but didn't know if that was with an X or a D car.  So I did both without the pop.  Read up a bit more on it - needs to be showdown races (lower class cars get a head start).  Finally got into one and popped that.  Won 3 games in Boxes to complete Getting Competitive in Gears 4.  Then I started RiME, figuring for a quick first pop.  That was incorrect.  Played for nearly 2 hours before getting the first achievement, delaying my drive up to my parents for the holiday weekend.  Didn't have any of the ID@Xbox titles downloaded, and RiME was only 4 GB.

Hopefully everything is punched by the time I get back to my XB1 on Sunday.

lol. That Rime game really threw me, too. The achievements came fast for FH4, Halo MCC, and Wolfenstein since I hadn't played them and I thought Rime would be just as quick. Two hours later, I'm still thinking when is the first achievement going to pop. Finally got it and stopped playing.

 
Too bad the 8TBs didn't have a decent sale. Seems external HDDs are about the same price they were when I got my 5 TB three years. Deleted most of my games thinking I would get a new HDD this year, now I am reinstalling all those games. But at least it's cleaning out old data

I had to change from my Gymkhana to the Viper SRT drift car for only that zone. You pretty much have to have about 35k+ coming out of the second turn to have a chance to hit 90 on that one.

Weird. It was announced at X018 like it was a general deal. It's available into December.

If you have a sub, try extending it on the dashboard.

I also have a friend who can’t get it and we’ve tried everything — on the dashboard, through the web...nothing.

I got it but it does seem targeted regardless of what they have said. And yes, my friend does have auto renewal disabled. Has looked in all places since it was announced.

I am probably the only person in the world excited that they put Romance of the 3 Kingdoms 13 on sale. It's been nearly 2 years at the absurd $70 launch price without a discount until this sale. Hope round 2 has more seldom seen discounted games get discounts.

Wait until you play it, it reeks of Koei not giving a fuck. Don't buy any of the DLC, it's all fluff and to the best of my knowledge, they never fixed a bug with it that causes the game to not load the title screen.

 
I'm making the dinner this year while the fam is watching Home Alone and The Grinch.

I got my Turkey in the oven, just got my cranberry sauce made so it can go in the fridge, rolls are rising and now to peel and cut potatoes!

My wife just ordered me Far Cry 5 and that all red controller from Best Buy. Not much really stuck out for Black Friday this year.

Hope you guys are all having a good meal somewhere if your in the USA and celebrate Thanksgiving.

Next weekend is my 10 year wedding anniversary so I gotta finish buying our tickets to a play we are seeing and our hotel. It's an expensive time of year!! Lol

Also- happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I'm only in charge of making Pumpkin Soup, Apple Pie, and then congee/jook. Only ever made congee once, so we'll see what happens.

Black Friday deals aside, I think I might only pull the trigger on Soul Calibur VI digital. It's not on sale but it's cheaper to get digitally and gameshare with my brothers back home rather then buy 2 physical copies. Might try to gift them Injustice 2 while I'm at it. Going full digital this gen has ben way more enjoyable then I would have thought

I think BB has a 8TB WD on sale for $129.99 today. I used the 15% Ebay code yesterday and snagged the 8TB Seagate Hub for $127

 
I Went to Wal-Mart to look at blu-ray's and games on sale just now and they were all located in the refrigerated area so of course I had to say aloud "Man, look at all these cool deals!" No one laughed, but goddammit I had to do it.

Also 55" TCL was $400 made me realize that I probably will buy a new TV next year,

I looked in my messages and there was a code for “For Honor Digital Deluxe Pack” for some reason. I was also able to get the 6 months of game pass for $30.

Do we know if the prices of the games on sale are the best they’re going to be this year? Is there going to be an end of year sale too? I’ve been waiting for the Witcher 3 expansion to go below $10, because I accidentally bought the base game instead of the complete edition ☹️ It seems like most of these prices are the standard every sale ones.

Are there any games with a lower price than normal?

I’m trying to get this deal. Does anyone else chronically have difficulty with Rakuten? About half of my orders get cancelled, and processing is far from rapid. I’m using PayPal to check out so not sure what that is all about...

The expansion pass hasn't dipped below 12.50 yet and was that price last BF and also during the Winter Sale.

 
I already bought AC:Odyssey but I’m not sure if I’m going to buy anything else. I’d love to get Ac:Rogue if it went on sale. I’ve got some MS money and I can’t decide between getting Injustice 2 or finally getting Repubic Commando.
 
I was able to get my 11/16 Purchase of Fallout76 refunded.  I had not started playing it yet and they gave me a refund no questions asked.

Also the game still is listed as purchased for my account?!?!?!

It might take a while for it to update. If not, you got lucky. I ended up returning my copy to amazon.
 
I'm not trying to seem entitled, but it fucking blows that so many people get free Xbox money and I don't. I spent a ton on sales and games. Sure, maybe a little salty. It just blows.
