Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Question about finishing the Badlands quest. Randomly had a link show up for it in one of the MS points emails. I clicked the link and it finally took me to a page showing I'm actually through the first two parts and actually in the Badlands part. My xbox profile shows I've earned +380 gamerscore this month, so that step should be complete. I also turn my xbox on every day, multiple times actually, so the 20 days should be a given right? I also completed the Get out of the badlands treasure hunt thing by answering the questions. How do I check my completion? There was a small picture on the my rewards page that showed teenie tiny icons on it, five I think, that all had green checks. But I now show a section on the my rewards page that says click to complete the remaining tasks. When I click on it it just reliads the rewards page. Help?

Also the 5000 point punch card finally completed for me. I now have nearly $40 in credit thanjs to the 7000 point $10 gift card deal. Hate to say it hut actually considering getting fallout 76 even after not being interested in it since it'd onky actually cost me around 8 real bucks.

I already bought AC:Odyssey but I’m not sure if I’m going to buy anything else. I’d love to get Ac:Rogue if it went on sale. I’ve got some MS money and I can’t decide between getting Injustice 2 or finally getting Repubic Commando.
I'm looking at AC Odyssey gold but idk if I'm even going to play it when it's done downloading.

I'm not trying to seem entitled, but it fucking blows that so many people get free Xbox money and I don't. I spent a ton on sales and games. Sure, maybe a little salty. It just blows.
spending money disqualifies you.

The $10 is Microsoft's way of saying "yeah, you are a cheap ass gamer"

I didn't get it so I guess I have a "mildly disposable income ass gamer"

I think it's still a bit too much...If this is where we are now, what is the price at the end of November? I'm gunna hold out.
I ended up biting - $32 w/GCU I can live with. I will leave it wrapped for a while to see if it collapses in price further and/or gets fixed by Bethesda. I am Elite so I have a long return window at BBUY. Also if I keep it I may be able to flip the steelbook on ebay for $10. So glad Microsoft refunded my digital purchase on this!

There's 2 BF5 quests - one for getting an achievement (the 500 point one) and one for buying it (6000 points). "Buying" the trial version on EA Access completes the 6000 point one.
ill have to look into the 6000 point one because i got the ea trial also...when did u download the ea access trial recently or when it was first availible to download?

EA access wins again! I played through the intro and got my 6000 points. I just need to do the achievement part for the second quest. I might end up getting Injustice 2 and Republic Commando with only MS money. Choo Choo!

Me too. My 55" Element LED 1080p Walmart Black Friday TV from four years ago is still running like a champ. Maybe one more year as my primary before being retired to the bedroom.
I Already have a TV in my bedroom so I don't know what to do with this one once I replace it. Bathroom TV? Hallway TV? I Feel bad possibly putting it in storage/

Also a weird reminder that Rage 2 is coming out. Totally forgot about it and yet it's still coming. Go Rage 2.

Personally, I find the thought of having a big ass 55" TV in my bathroom hilarious.

And thinking about getting one of these games, just not sure which is the best option...
1. Shadow of War Definitive edition
2. Monster Hunter World standard edition
3. Assassin's creed Origins Deluxe edition (thinking this will be a gwg soon enough)
4. Dishonored Death if the outsider Deluxe Bundle
5. Injustice 2 Legendary Edition
My thoughts:

1. Good game if a bit repetitive. If you liked Shadow of Mordor then this sequel could be good value for you.

2. I didn't like MHW personally; I felt underpowered at the start, and hear there's a lot of grinding involved

3. I would go Gold rather than Deluxe if you can swing it, as the Season's Pass is so expensive by itself. Great game though - tons of content.

4. I just bought this and would highly recommend based on price, content, gameplay, and story. My top choice.

5. If you like fighting games then this could be a good pick. Very similar to Injustice 1 of course, so if you haven't bought/finished that yet, I'd wait on this one.

I went a completely different route than I planned on after getting a bunch of rewards points to spend on the discounted $5 & $10 offer. Ended up buying Elex, Burnout Paradise Remastered, Mortal Kombat XL, and Fallout 76. I'd been watching a bunch of mixer people playing AC Origins and I just couldn't deal with all that sand lol.

I got the 6k points for the BF5 EA Access Trial "Purchase" as well. Working on getting the 500 by unlocking an achievement. I've basically given up on trying to complete the GP quest. I still haven't gotten a check for unlocking achievements in Split Second.

Now for my haul from the BF sale:

Burnout Paradise Remastered

Mortal Kombat XL

Tomb Raider Definitive Edition

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY

Need for Speed Payback Deluxe Edition

LEGO Marvel's Avengers

NBA Live 19

NBA 2K19

Batman: Return to Arkham

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20th Year Celebration and Season Pass

Forza Motorsport 7 Car Pass

I had to change from my Gymkhana to the Viper SRT drift car for only that zone. You pretty much have to have about 35k+ coming out of the second turn to have a chance to hit 90 on that one.
Second turn when going uphill? I generally have better luck going downhill on that one. Can get upper 20ks, maybe touch 30k, coming out of the first turn and top 50k coming out of the second. Going uphill, I can get between 35-40k coming out of the second turn. Probably need to do better in the straight stretch between the 2 curves of the S. I am using the Formula Drift Viper, tried a couple others as well.

I thought so. Dang. I can’t decide whether to pull the trigger or not. It seems like it’s never going any lower.
Been waiting to backlog the complete edition when it drops below $20, has been that price for the past few major sales.

And speaking of sale prices that never seem to improve, they just didn't bother putting the BioShock Collection on sale for $19.80 for the umpteenth time.

This was honestly the easiest Black Friday I have ever worked. Oh wait... the sale started on Thanksgiving! Why the hell is it called Black Friday sales? Let's call it Brown Thursday or something and force everyone to wear Cleveland Browns apparel.

The store was literally dead in terms of customers. Only one hour after the sale started we had no lines at any register.

I'm not saying dead in terms of sales, just dead in terms of lines for Black Friday. Last year it was non-stop busy for 3+ hours. It was also 12 degrees arrive at work which is a record here in Connecticut. The cold probably didn't help with the sales.

I only had to work 9 hours today and generally work 12+ every year. Less overtime but whatever.

Free food yesterday, today and Saturday so I don't have to pay anything or cook anything.

I managed to grab Doom for the switch. As for the sale on XBox I got all the FF13 games and a lovely cager got me a game so it was swell.

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. I love you all.

[sarcasm] I hope you guys in the US enjoyed your Protestant/Calvinist tradition of eating turkey on the third Thursday of November. Here were I live, a predominantly Catholic country, we have no desire of that.

We'll adopt/copy your "Halloween" and your "Black Friday", but that apostasy known as "Thanksgiving"? Hell no. Repent and Big Boss Francis over in Rome will forgive you. [\sarcasm]

In all seriouness, Black Friday wasn't a thing here until like 7 years ago. But there's never been any kind of advertising or reference to Thanksgiving (not even at any of the Walmarts in the country) . Pretty sure the term "Thanksgiving" might be even quietly outlawed despite definitely looking like a nice tradition to emulate, regardless of religious beliefs.

Anyways, my final tally were two remasters: Red Faction Guerrilla and Burnout Paradise.

Uphill, I never broke 75K going downhill. Def need to snake like hell working towards that final turn and then stick a high point drift through to the end.

eta: I'm 99% sure that was my final zone too. One day I spent an hour on it and gave up then did it in like 4 tries the following day. Also it was autumn as I was trying to finish the PR stunts before the first winter made them even more challenging so I may have had a wet road induced run.

Between all the punch cards finally working for me and me consistently using bing for couple months I was able to get the 6 months of discounted gamepass as well as a couple of budget games for free. Thanks guys!

So guess I’m screwed in the Battlefield V punchcard if I had already downloaded the trial before activating the rewards offer?

Downhill I got 88K yesterday and 88K and 89.7K today. Tons of passes and basically once you miss any little section you are screwed. Hopefully get it soon. Last street drift area I need. Still have 6 or 7 dirt areas though. What car are people using for this?

(Kept the important parts)
Which retailer are you at? I work at Walmart and honestly I could say the same things you did. This was my 12th one and despite a little of the normal confusion on the part of our store management not knowing wtf was going on, the sale itself was rather contained. Our first major lines were gone from the electronics area by 6:30 (sale started at 6), and then just the regular fluctuating rushes for the next few hours. Usually I’m busy until after 11 and need to stay until at least midnight, but this year I left about 11:50 (like you, no overtime, but bonus next week and I have a 3 day weekend so yay!).
Maybe people are finally catching on to the fact that internet shopping is easier, more convenient, and usually cheaper? Could it be?

Anyway, as Dave said, Happy (belated) Thanksgiving, all. Thanks for all the banter throughout the year and as always, thanks to Bloomy and everyone else who contributes to the posting of the deals.

I got it in the Viper SRT going uphill. A couple hours trying and then I had a Zen run where my hands were finally able to do what my brain wanted. Have to drift the straights at a slight angle. Good luck. I think it is the hardest thing in FH4 to 1K the game.

Ended up buying Elex, Burnout Paradise Remastered, Mortal Kombat XL, and Fallout 76. I'd been watching a bunch of mixer people playing AC Origins and I just couldn't deal with all that sand lol.
Keep us posted on Elex; it looked interesting, but when I read some of the reviews and feedback couldn't bite.

Played MXGP3 yesterday(one of the X018 games added to game pass); man is it hot garbage. I will admit I haven't played many motocross games throughout my gaming career(excitebike64 and motocross madness from last Gen spring to mind the previous decade or so), but ugh. The gaming elements out the gate were rough. No tutorial, just text. Then the text was super tiny and hard to read on a 60" HD tv. Visuals itself, were muddy. I felt like I wanted to wipe the screen to clear it off, as if that would improve the graphics somehow. The first(and only two races I played), seemed overly long. Three laps which consisted of over 2 mins each(6 mins+ total), did not help the bland gameplay much. After only one wipeout, I was back of the pack with no chance of catching up the remaining five mins. Not to mention the overly loud, whiny pitch of the engine.

Yeah, its a free game(via game pass). Yet the 25 mins I put in yesterday between eating ham, watching football and spending time with loved ones, was honestly a waste of time. Even the two achievements I unlocked felt hollow. But whatever. I've played much worse games, but this one was just a waste of time considering I coulda been playing Forza Horizon 4, Warframe or any others amongst my endless backlog.

tldr-MXGP3XYZ is a bland, uninspired game. Want your motocross fix, get Motocross Madness(which is BC anyways). Much more enjoyable game imo

On the fence about the $5 Batman Arkham bundle. WB just announced plans to imminently release a bundle with all 3 Arkham games (and DLC). No word on price, but knowing WB, I imagine the $5 bundle will be delisted shortly after the sale ends. I've played through all of them before, but no DLC and not remastered versions.

if you played arkham knight any reason why this bundle would benefit you? I thought it would be the same version already released.

Played through it on PS4 without DLC. And it's not remastered at all afaik. I guess the current bundle may offer the most bang for my buck w/remasters. Am I missing anything worthwhile with Arkham Knight DLC?

All three games are $15 combined. If they rerelease it as a separate bundle it’ll most likely be more than that.

So guess I’m screwed in the Battlefield V punchcard if I had already downloaded the trial before activating the rewards offer?
Yep I'm afraid so, these 6000 point punch cards they have been doing on big titles are pretty interesting but they've all been on release day or just after release. I like pre-loading the handful of stuff I've actually pre-ordered digitally but it's looking like I'm going to not be doing that. When MS rewards resets the VIP ranks December 31st my digital purchasing was going to go down anyway, but these have been pretty decent offers.

It's always irritated me that MS rewards people AFTER the game comes out but totally screwing over the people that preorder... I mean at LEAST give us half point value or something to show your appreciation?

You didn't earn points on preorders when Xbox Live Rewards was a thing either. Because of that I wouldn't buy anything until 12:01am so it would credit.

I'm half tempted to get a month of EA access to nab this 6k

For anyone who has done the Battlefield punch card with EA access, do you actually have to finish the download for it to count or could I just start then pause it? I'm one of those poor souls with a data cap, so I'd rather avoid using that much data if possible lol.

Damn, that is a really good idea. Just signed up for a month, started the DL and immediately got my 6000 points (To the bandwidth limited users, you can just stop your DL). Going to get an achievement and get the other 500 and enjoy my free month of EA access + leftover points.

Yeah I just did it and had enough leftover points to redeem another $10

Didn't make the Black Friday sale.  Will it deviate from the $19.80 price this time?

Thanks to all those posting about the EA Access thing with the BFV trial. Downloading it now and already got the 6000, and gonna play for a bit to get the one achievement for another 500. Definitely gonna cancel the auto renew so let’s see if I get lucky and get the refund as well.
Also, got 4 of the 5 checks on my Game Pass quest. Then I realized that one of the two games I used for the last is no longer on Game Pass (Split/Second). I also got one in Metro but that didn’t work apparently. Downloading Hello Neighbor to give that a shot, even though I’m not too interested in the game itself.

Split/Second still shows on the website but maybe that is why mine never checked. Luckily I found an easy achievement in Wolfenstein that I didn't do and popped it yesterday so hopefully that will give me the last check in a day or two.
