Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Grabbed my FAR used X360S from Gamestop this morning, and played Singularity for a while to test it out (worked fine).  I just have to order a drive shell from Ebay so I can transfer the drive from my old fat Falcon Elite into it.  I salute you Falcon Elite, for many years of faithful service with nary an RROD.  I guess the optical drive had to give up the ghost sometime.

Split/Second still shows on the website but maybe that is why mine never checked. Luckily I found an easy achievement in Wolfenstein that I didn't do and popped it yesterday so hopefully that will give me the last check in a day or two.
Yeah I realized I also got 1 achievement in Metro, which is on that list, too, but still nothing. I’m actually re-downloading Wolfenstein 1 now to get the achievement for picking the person I didn’t the first time around, hoping that’ll make it pop.

any tips on the quickest achievement on the trial? bfv

my plan is to download up to the ready to start and hope I can snag an achievement in there somewhere without having to download a lot more

Any thoughts on the Far Cry 5 Season Pass?  I actually like the main game a lot.  I'm not sure how worthwhile the expansions are, but the inclusion of Far Cry 3 Classic Edition in the season pass is tempting.

Just an FYI, CDKeys has obe month EA Access codes for $2.59

Just bought one, entered the code on my xbox, and already got my 6000 points for "buying' the Battlefield trial.

Thanks for the heads up. :) Here's the link https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/memberships/ea-access-1-month-subscription

About to order one as well.

Update: After a few tries of it not accepting my phone number format for verification text, it went through and I got my 6000 points as soon as I clicked the trial. :D

does anyone know if u can use xbox credit for hulu? i was wanting to get that $.99 a month deal and got some extra xbox credit
As far as I know Hulu is not affiliated with Microsoft (Hulu is owned by Hulu LLC, a joint venture with The Walt Disney Company (holds 30% stake), 21st Century Fox (holds 30% stake), Comcast (via NBCUniversal; holds 30% stake), and AT&T (via WarnerMedia; holds 10% stake).)

I think you have to use a credit card to pay for Hulu, I don't think Xbox funny money will work.

The FC5 season pass stuff isn’t great. Felt a bit half baked. If you get like half off it may be worth it. The FC3 classic is pretty nice as you say.

While I’m not big on shooters anymore, I thought the story part of Battlefield V and 1 were great. I appreciate the humanity of all armies that is so regularly ignored.

Have any AC players out there spent real money for helix points? Now I'm thinking on getting Far Cry 5 gold and AC Odyssey gold but I still need to beat AC Origins.
I still want to beat Origins and so passed on Odyssey for now. Notice Gold Origins for digital a year later for $33. Will wait a year for same for Odyssey.

At first I enjoyed the Battlefield V single player but as I got further in, it was getting annoying with how much stealth there was. I like the more straightforward run and gun of BF even compared to COD so to me stealth just isn’t what I want out of it.

This is the top comment on SlickDeals about the level of ads on this Hulu plan. It sounds like a deal breaker to me personally. I can't stand commercials anymore but I'd probably put up with one at the start of a show for this price. Not 2 to 4 per 30 minutes as this guy says.

"Almost every show will start with 30-60 seconds of commercials. Some start immediately. Then, expect 2 commercial breaks during "30" minute show. Then, if you aren't careful, you'll get another one minute commercial before last two minutes if show and credits.

The worst...the worst...is when you want to see something real quick, you have to sit through the commercials. For example, you clicked on wrong show, sat through commercials to see episode only to realize mistake...now you have to back out and watch another commercial before next show can be seen. Or, theres a funny scene right before a break...it goes to commercial, you have to wait to rewind it. Rewind, watch ten seconds you missed or wanted to rewatch ..another break when done."

This is fairly accurate I have the 7.99(I think) plan and usually there is anywhere between 15-90 sec ads before the show and then depending on length of the program another 2-3 30-60 sec blocks for a 30 min show and maybe 4-5 for an hour long. Movies have no ads so there is that. Every now and then the ad server get borked and no ads roll during the show so that is sort of nice.

Was just on the Microsoft Rewards app on the Xbox and saw that Australia has a Gamepass punch card, about time.

The second punch is for getting achievement in a selection of October games which has split second.

But someone has said that it is not in gamepass now. So even though this is a selection it wont work?

cut scenes were good

I just found the gameplay super monotonous and irritating. It was cool you could fly the planes (even though I sucked) but I thought the enemies were annoyingly accurate on even just medium difficulty and these games are so linear it turns me of real fast

granted I don't care about these type of Fpshooters as I'm one of the far cry types that enjoy more decision making and random bigfoot or exotic animal hunting in between taking out bad guy villages with arrows and I was just going for an achievement( that took way too long to get) for a measly 500 points but I'm a rewardsaholic.

Also, AdBlock does block ads on Hulu, if watching on a PC. The time is still reserved for them, but they don't run. If I'm watching on Xbox, I just mute them.

Currently using my girlfriend's account and don't mind since I don't pay for it, but for a paid service, they sure are excessive. "Limited commercial plan" my butt.

That's my only punch the I need is from the October game pass games.I got 3-4 achievements in shantae half genie but it never registered so I fired up split second and got 3 cheevos. So now I'm waiting to see if it registers I'm on day 3 waiting.

Here's the Xbox One S (not One X) deal of the week.  1TB Xbox One S - Minecraft Creator's Bundle console with Red Dead 2 for $188.79 after taxes using code BF18.  Best Buy has the console without Red Dead 2 for $199 so this is a no brainer for those looking for a One S.

I'm on a VCR console so I have to pull the trigger on this deal (pending wife approval when she wakes up of course)

Can you do cancel subscription and be issued a refund with the CDKeys-acquired one month of EA Access, or can it only be if you buy a month of EA Access through the EAA portal?

I have 2 accounts on my xbox both linked to their own bing account.  If I get EA access on one, can I go to the other one and get 6000 points on both accounts or is it only good on the account you activate it for?

Oh damn! It's time to play my favorite annual game a year. The one where I keep staring out the window thinking it'll make the Amazon/UPS/USPS man show up quicker my Black Friday orders.

I’m new to punch cards. How does it work and what donI have to do to be eligible for the Battlefield V points? I have a MS Rewards account. Apologies for the noobness.

I really wish Atlus would bring more Games to the Xbox One... so far the Remake of Catherine will only be avaibale for PS4 and Vita in Japan...

Would love the Shin megami Series, especially the Persona Series...I mean why just give us a brawler spin off of Persona 4 but not Persona itself hum..

You need the Rewards App on the Xbox 1. With the BFV card, you first need to click the "activate this punch card" button, then click the other button to buy the game (or the EA Access trial).

Would love the Shin megami Series, especially the Persona Series...I mean why just give us a brawler spin off of Persona 4 but not Persona itself hum..
I'm just hoping Catherine doesn't get censored because of Sony's new policy. If there is one game where sexual content is justified it's Catherine.

I'm kind of surprised Atlus hasn't branched out further since Sega bought them. They're doing some Nintendo based projects but I don't think it's anything they wouldn't have done before. Sega has been leaving us out on some of their games too though. I would think Yakuza could do alright on Xbox at least. I don't think "anime tiddies" is the issue here either, since we got Valkyria Chronicles 4. If anyone isn't familiar, look up the character designer for those games and his non-Sega output, Raita Honjou.

Oh damn! It's time to play my favorite annual game a year. The one where I keep staring out the window thinking it'll make the Amazon/UPS/USPS man show up quicker my Black Friday orders.
Was very happy I got my important stuff Weds. Now I'm also waiting, need the accessories that I didn't think about.
