Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I still wish Conan was BC ...boobs and all.
In Quadruple K?

I just listened to the IGN Unlocked from last week where they talk about Fallout 76. It definitely upset some people! I get it though if you bought it and feel tricked, that's how I felt with Destiny 1. I knew Fallout 76 wasn't for me when I saw the E3 videos but I know most people don't watch E3 that aren't on gaming websites. It sounds like they were going for something very different but it sounds like they missed that mark by what I'm hearing.

No NPCs counts as multiple "features" in my eyes. Aside from the obvious this also meant no companions which is a big thing for a lot of people, it also meant no radio host. Mainly, it fundamentally changed the experience to something that really isn't what the studio is known for in a lot of ways. I disagree with your assessment of story in multiplayer games. They definitely could have still had NPCs that had linear quests and dialogue, and that would go a long way to fleshing out the experience. Instead you know that every quest involving meeting people ends with finding a dead body. I think the quality of the Holotapes and the like is good, but I don't think audio-logs work as well when they are the ONLY means of getting the entire story across in an interactive games. They especially fall flat with how they are implemented for a multiplayer setting. No way to pause, fast forward, or rewind, or to really have impact while playing with others. It's a somewhat similar problem to Destiny's overall lore being 95% not in-game.

The way the change from Settlements to CAMP was implemented nerfed the hell out of the feature for me, essentially making it feel nearly pointless to me, as someone who loved this feature in Fallout 4. It is no longer possible to build a permanent base in any way. The fact that your base can be randomly stashed just because the random server you load in on has someone else there is pretty annoying, but the fact that bugs currently mean you can straight up lose many items is infuriating. Before I really go into bugs, I just think there are ton of major issues that simply stem from Bethesda being new to multiplayer, like the real end game being pretty much nothing, just keep launching nukes to fight the same couple bosses that currently don't even guarantee semi-decent loot.

Personally, I've played the last 3 Fallouts at launch. While I can maybe see an argument for them being as buggy (though I don't think they quite were), the bugs in 76 are much more obtrusive. The worst bug I had in the old games was a weird spawn bug causing a crash upon exit of a certain door in New Vegas, which I was able to backtrack and work around. The worst bugs in 76 make certain perk cards not work, cause extremely jarring graphical and AI glitches worse than anything in Skyrim, and cause steady disconnects and crashes. Hell, look up Lazy Game Reviews video that was just released. He's always very concise with his videos and just lays out his personal experience with the game. He was playing on Xbox One X and had 15 crashes in just 30 hours. Look at some of the streamers that have been playing it a lot and trying to remain positive and finally faltering after setback after setback, like CohhCarnage.

I'm in no way offended, I just think the game is in a piss poor state and that people that are considering buying it need to be adequately aware of the situation. The way this game was released is a joke, and should make people question the capability of this studio, or at least the judgement of the publisher. I'm not necessarily comparing it apples to apples with the older games in a lot of aspects, for myself I'm more comparing it to other games of similar genre, like looter shooters and survival games, and it comes up just as lacking there.

I'm not discounting that fact that you or anyone had fun, but I've never considered this a strong argument points since pretty much every game in existence is fun with friends, and if you're having fun single player then more power to you, but it severely lacks in the stuff most people enjoy about the previous games in the series.

I'd probably be more lenient if Bethesda were communicating, or at least acknowledged the shitstorm, but as of 5:50PM there still isn't anything.

Frivolous claims of "reported" is a running joke in this thread, but the Chilean miners could have told you that. It's all good.
I've seen people say reported before in a joke context, but since I said "shove it" I thought maybe you had actually reported me haha no hard feelings.

As for the game, I will have to check out LGR's review. My wife and I love his Sims 4 reviews because he actually tells you what is in the expansions and how they work. I guess I always saw Fallout 76 as a side project and not the next in the series so I tempered my expectations accordingly and was ok with the things which were different, but if people wanted more NPCs and story in the game I can understand why they would be mad. I'll count myself as lucky so far from a bug standpoint, I'm only level 41 so not in the end game stuff yet so maybe it gets way worse.

Evil Within 2 should be $12 on the Microsoft Store website last I checked if that at all helps you make a decision.
I’ve been going back and forth about buying EW2 for $15 digital, but I don’t know if I’d play it more than once. $3 less isn’t much of a discount but apparently it was enough for me to buy it. So thanks!

I didn’t play more than an hour of the beta for 76, and am only level 9 now, but just talking to a friend and swapping stories of encounters we’ve had in the game tell me it’s worth it. For what it’s worth, I haven’t been disconnected or run into any bugs that were noticeable yet. I’ve played solo the whole time, but will be teaming up with said friend soon. I think the criticism firestorm is overblown too, but I also think people should just stop playing games they don’t like and sell them, so what do I know?

Worse the AC Unity at launch that game was a POS at launch by all accounts. Wasn't bad a year or so later (Still had issues) when I played a much patched version. Over 100GB on XBox IRC.
AC Unity with all season pass DLC is 48 GB fyi. Didn't have any problems with the game itself. Ubisoft online is another story.

Final haul:

TCL 55r617 tv

1 yr ps +

Horizon Zero Dawn Complete

Spider-Man

Forza 4

AC: Odyssey

Hellsing Ultimate Complete

Gundam: Iron Blood Orphans

On another note. My Xbox is being shipped back to me, should get back on Wednesday.

Bioshock collection I played it a few months back and Bioshock 2 chugged a bit here and there but some parts of infinite were complete slide shows, the dlc having the worst of it. The games look good though you forget how beautiful Bioshock was and the issues aren't deal breakers. Played on an Xbox one S.

Its not just the games that beat retail pricing (and there were quite a few), but also the difference in price of the games that didn't beat retail. Used to be you would see differences of like $10-$15 sometimes. So ridiculous given how much more MS makes on digital copies. This was the best priced digital sale, in comparison to physical retail copies, I have seen to date. As for the games I picked up.

Jurassic Park Evolution (Dlx edition)
Battle Chasers
Batman Arkham Collection
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Burnout Paradise Remastered
Ghost Recon Wildlands
Injustice 2 Legendary Edition
Lego City Undercover
Lego Worlds
Mad Max
Red Faction Guerrilla Remarstered
Elder Scrolls Summerset Expansion

I couldn't find any of those cheaper in physical copies, especially Jurassic Park Evolution.
Going physical >>>>digital is all that is barring me from injustice 2.🤕

My gaming haul:
Diablo Eternal Collection
Burnout Paradise Remastered
PSVR with Superhot and Creed
Astro Bot
Fist of the North Star
SW Battlefront 1

Final damage from the BF sale:

Burnout Paradise Remastered

Need for Speed Payback Deluxe

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Digital Deluxe

Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration and Season Pass

LEGO Marvel's Avengers and Season Pass

Tomb Raider Definitive

NBA Live 19 (physical to digital)

NBA 2K19 (physical to digital)

Mortal Kombat XL

Batman: Return to Arkham (bought it for PS4 also)

Forza Motorsport 7 Car Pass

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY

Tekken 6 (CDkeys)

The Crew (CDkeys)

EA Access Sub (1-month from Xbox.com and 12-month from Newegg)

Not much for me this year:

PS+

6-months of Gold

Life is Strange Before the Storm Deluxe

Virginia

6 Months of Game Pass

I went back and forth on AC: Odyssey but when I have Unity, Syndicate and Origins sitting here untouched I just could not pull the trigger. Pretty much the backlog and Game Pass have made it hard to buy stuff. I even have trade credit to spend.

This isn't Xbox related but Netflix just licensed Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's been in rights purgatory for over 10 years so this is the first time we're getting the HD remaster of the original series and old movies. If you like anime or giant robots at all, this is one of the greats, probably the most influential series since Gundam and the super robot shows of the 60s and 70s.

hopefully digital foundry comes through with an analysis on this
No need for that. Everything included in it is stuff already available. Spending $15 ($10 on Arkham Knight premium and $5 for the Arkham 1 & 2 remastered bundle) during the Black Friday sale would get you everything included in this $60 bundle.

Thought the XB1 sales ended at 6am Eastern, not 5am.  Aw, well.  Bring on better prices for the year end countdown.

A bit misleading that the Arkham collection is marked as X enhanced when Knight doesn't appear to be.

Yeah I think they have it that way because Arkham city is enhanced while knight isn't yet. I'm curious if they will do a 4K patch for it eventually. I believe the 4K patch for city didn't come out until recently but I could be wrong.

Damn I was few minutes late and missed thumper and Mortal Kombat XL!
I overslept this morning and missed buying Toby before it went off sale. The good thing is that the same games will be on sale right before Christmas for the exact same prices. Xbox Live sales are so damned predictable that I could set my clock by them.

I struggled so hard last night on whether or not to pick up Get Even but in the end when in doubt... buy buy buy! The gameplay seems unique enough that it will offer something different so why not.

Also anyone know what the new game being added to gamepass for December are or when they will be announced? I know that Gold games are revealed at the end of the month but I thought that Gamepass announced before that!?

They started announcing Game Pass additions on the first of each month, there may be a few titles announced before then but don't expect a full list before 12/1. GWG never had any consistency with dates, at lease Game Pass does.

Seeing an OG Xbox title in the December Games with Gold Lineup

Unravel Yarny bundle has a similar issue, only Unravel 2 is enhanced but the bundle is marked as enhanced.

It’s cool that OG Xbox games are coming to GWG, but I think I have the ones that are important to me (KOTOR 1&2, SSX 3, Morrowind)
