Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

The DLC for Asura's Wrath is required if you want the whole story, correct? It's currently on sale and think I'll pick it up if it's necessary to get the true ending.
Episode Pack IV for 3 and change contains all of it? I would buy it and the game I'm a second if it went BC.

There are some good deals going on but I have most of what I’ve wanted. I’d like The Bioshock collection but i already have the 360versions. Is the dlc worth buying them again? Any cheap suggestions?
The Bioshock 2 DLC "Minerva's Den" is considered one of the better DLC's of all time in numerous write ups around the web. The DLC for Infinite was pretty decent also, shorter if I remember but cleared some stuff up.

I loved Bioshock 2. I was surprised that it was as great as the first. I’ve heard great things about “Minerva’s Den” and have always wanted to play it. I heard the remaster of Infinite looks amazing and I never got far in the game. I’ve wanted to. It sure is as creepy as the others just in a different way. I have some Microsoft money to use. I was hoping for Assassins Creed Rogue Remaster and I still have to buy Star Wars Republic Commando.

The other DLC outside of Episode IV are just filer. Two are just anime movies, one is a Street Fighter crossover with Ryu. All you need is Episode IV.

The disc version of The Bioshock Collection $11.98 on clearance at Target right now you want to save a few more bucks.

It is a lot of work. If you do all the searches and quizzes every day, and redeem the points for Microsoft credit or XBL Gold when they're the Hot Deals, you're only getting 30 cents a day. Not many people would do 5 minutes of pointless computer work if you offered them a quarter and a nickel, but because it's Xbox-branded, people are willing to trudge through it. It's great because that's exactly the type of thing that allows Sea of Thieves alpha DLC to sell for $100 on eBay.
It’s not a lot of work at all and it takes me around a minutes and 30 seconds a day while I’m taking a shit on laying in bed to do it, the only thing that was a pain was glitchy punch cards which were completed by actually playing games anyway.

I made $105 in credit and 3 months of free game pass in about 3 months and I convinced my wife to do it about 2 months ago and she got $45 and 3 months game pass for my sons account that she does while she’s killing time on the computer at work anyway while getting paid from her actual job.

I've never played a Lego game in my life but I'm interested in all the $5 price point. I'm under the impression that they're easy enough for kids to play, are they easy enough for my wife though lol

Any feedback welcome

Unravel 2 is on nice sale. I really enjoyed the first one. anyone play the second?
Yes, I've played through part of it with my daughter and the co-op is quite fun. It's a great game to play with a kid, because if they have difficult making it through an area, they can usually just climb up your yarn once you get through it.

My wife and I have played tons of LEGO games together. They are pretty easy to play and enjoyable for a while. They all follow a similar format so it can get old if you play to many of them back to back.

Been playing them since the very first Lego Star Wars on Xbox 360. There's a lot of humor, sight gags and love put into all of them and can be loads of fun but you can get burnt out after a while.

My favorite ones ended up being the Batman series. Just the goofy costumes crack me up

The Lego Batman games are my favorite. The second one is one of the best games I’ve ever played especially if you get all the dlc for Lego Batman 2.

Same thoughts as Donken and Logan.

Out of the ones I've played I've enjoyed - Batman 1 & 2, Lego Indiana Jones, all the Star Wars, and the Marvels. I didn't enjoy Batman 3 and Indy 2 as much but I could have been burnt out from playing too much. The Star Wars ones are the best ones IMHO, especially if you're a Star Was fan. We've gotten 4 through GwG with 2 of those within the last 6 months. I'm hoping we get the Harry Potter ones next.

Holy shit God of War is beautiful. Running on a Pro, but on a HD set since the X is on the 4k. Is there something on Xbox that looks this good?

Far Cry 5 Season Pass is also on sale for $19.49 with Gold or $22.49 without Gold.

Well worth the money considering it includes 3 expansions and the full game of Far Cry 3 (slightly remastered?).

There are multiple badges for the Daily streaks. The last 2 for getting 365 days and 999 days streak are tough to earn in my opinion. I am close to earning the 365 day one. Like you said, I have no idea what these badges are for other than trying to earn them all like achievements I guess?

I kind of like the silly ones they have for points earned. The DOS Boss one for earning 8088 points made me smile.
Yeah, the points ones are good. The 98052 one is Redmond, WA's zip code, MS HQ. MS was founded Apr 4, 1975 - the 441,975 points for the Founder badge.

My longest streak was apparently 106 days, and am currently at 50, so nowhere closer to the longer streak badges. Surprise, surprise, something's off with the donation badges. My status page says I've donated $88 in points. It's under "recent", so maybe that doesn't go all the way back. Counting up my redemption history, I've donated 56k points, and all were double donations. So that would be $112, not counting a few other free $1 donations. Yet I don't have the 50k points donated badge.

As others said, probably don't play through too many at once since you will burn out on them. I find them to be decent palate cleansers between other games. They're easy enough to get through, though figure on 30-40 hours to 100% unless you use a guide the whole way. 60-70 for Lego Star Wars Complete Saga, because it's basically 2 full games.

You will probably also need to refer to guides at some points for 100%, since while the games do provide unlockable hints for item gathering, there are plenty of cases where what you need to do just isn't intuitive. This may have improved with more recent games.

General tip for all Lego games :

The games have red bricks hidden in levels which unlock purchasable abilities. With the possible exception of the Stud Magnet ability (may be named differently in some games), I'd suggest avoiding buying anything until you've bought at least the x2 and x4 stud multipliers. The multipliers are generally more expensive, but their abilities stack, so once you have a couple enabled, you'll be earning money quickly enough to buy the things you passed on while working toward those first multipliers. There may be some other things I'm forgetting that could be useful to buy before the multipliers, but aside from a possible character class you may be missing, IMO, that's really what you should concentrate on unlocking first.

As far as character models I think Hellblade comes fairly close. It seems to mimic that "sony style" to great effect.

FC3 is just a port, but running at a higher resolurion, capped FPS, and more vibrant colors. All just enhancements from superior hardware, which is still pretty great.

Not an exclusive but I’d say Assassin’s Creed Origins (and probably Odyssey) are pretty damn close.

So I have enough space bucks left for a $30 game and am having analysis paralysis.  Here are the ones I'm considering:

Hitman 2 - Enjoyed the first one and have played this series since OG Hitman 2.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider - Enjoyed the 1st 2, would like to finish the trilogy

AC: Origins/Odyssey - I enjoyed AC IV, but am going back and forth about these 2, as I'm not sure which setting I'd enjoy more

Prey Deluxe - Only $20, leaves me approx. $10 for more cheap indie games

Subnautica - Not on sale, but I want to play this now that it's out of the Preview Program

Any advice on what to pick?

Hitman 2 is more of Hitman 1 (not a bad thing..) Love the Hitman1/2 gameplay.

Subnautica is FREE on PC, so go grab it and see if you really want to spend $30 on it since it's not on sale.

Just going to add that pretty much all the Lego games play almost exactly the same, though some have better level design than others, and Lego Hobbit had some RPG elements from what I've heard. There are a million characters so you can likely find at least a couple you'll like each. Some of the later ones have character creators as well. I'd start with whichever property has the most appeal to the two of you.

Its been awhile since our last giveaway.

So if you need to ESCAPE from the holidays. I have a PLAN to help you out. Like the post to get your self a free digital movie.

Between AC:Origins and Odyssey, I’d recommend Origins. I’m biased because I loved ancient Egypt but I think the gameplay and progression is much smoother than Odyssey which can feel overwhelming. I like Odyssey but I think it fell in the same trap Ubisoft did with Wildlands in having too much to do. Origins has been the best AC game since the first two Ezio games.

If anyone else finds more adds that give fandango now money please post. I got my 15.00 and was able to get 2 movies. One for the wifey and one for the kiddos.

I can say the elves brought it so that saves me trying to figure out another thing for them to do tonight

I’m always so tempted in these sales to buy Deus Ex MD for $4.50. And yet, even with expiring credit, I think it’s gonna end up GWG.

Thanks for the explanations on the other badges. I was scratching my head on the founder one. ;)

That sucks you lost your streak progress. I will feel lucky if I make it to 365 days. No way am I making 999 days.

I was thinking about hitman 2 also and tr3 but im debating road redemption big road rash fan here I have them all on nesbox has any one played it????

I've never played a Lego game in my life but I'm interested in all the $5 price point. I'm under the impression that they're easy enough for kids to play, are they easy enough for my wife though lol

Any feedback welcome
Not under $5 as far as I know but as an aside:

Lego Worlds is different from all the rest in that its the only one where you can build and destroy the world around you like actual legos. The worlds are randomly generated and theres updates fairly regularly still that add new bricks and builds.

Lego City Undecover is basically Lego GTA, if you aren't a fan of any of the other properties they make Lego bases games off of this one is good and it generally likes to parody action movies.

*** free fandango now money ***

On your roku there are 3 adds giving 4.99 each fandango money. Gieco, target, and durrecelle. Just keep clicking. Home till you get the right add
Had gotten the Target and Duracell ones earlier but can’t seem to get the Gieco one to pop up.

Just saw Bumblebee. Holy crap. How did we as a society of nerds ever tolerate Michael Bay's Transformers?? The G1 designs looked amazing and it's great having a Transformers movie done by someone that doesn't rides the swing set sideways because it makes him feel funny. On the subject of movies...

Mine was opposite. Tons of geico. Target and durecelle popped up much later
Same. I Have not gotten Target to pop up on mine still, but regardless I heard Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom was a butt sandwich, but for a penny and in 4K (with no 4K player!) I think I can give it a shot.
