I just want to thank you for existing. I thought my 900 games/apps was a bit excessive on my XBox One; but the fact there's someone out there with 1500 games makes feel I'm no longer alone in digital hoarding.

That being said; when you include my digital collections across Sony/Nintendo consoles/portables, GOG, and Steam; I'm a lot closer to 2500 total than any reasonable person should be. If I retired now and played games 12 hours a day for the rest of my life; I wouldn't even get through half of them before I died.

My new theory is the Empire wins this time, mainly because I want them to for once. Trailers already allude that Rey goes darkside for at least some part of the movie, so I just want to see full on Imperial war machine in full swing and kicking ass. :)

Do Original Xbox games ever go on sale for people with an Xbox One? I'm kinda tempted to try Blinx, but it doesn't appear to be a part of the sale.
 
Fox, who actually *owns* "Die Hard" leaned in hard to it being a Christmas movie last year. It's theirs; they can call it what they want. Also, it's unlikely that that many people would all be gathered in the office afterhours. Unless it was one of those dumbass "all hands" meetings....

But I'm surprised that no one has mentioned "Trading Places". It's the perfect 'holiday' movie. It starts just before Thanksgiving and goes all the way through New Year's. That would have to be my personal favorite. It teaches you the true meaning of generosity! /s

Does anyone have the problem where when downloading games in a queue, the XBox doesn't download some of them and instead just puts it in the Installed list the next time you turn it on despite it not being ready to play at all and never actually downloading it? This has been happening to my XBox for a month now or so.

With Crunchyroll and Funimation always giving away so much Anime for free, it really makes me wonder how the Anime industry survives in America. I'm from a time when the only way to buy Anime was to go to San Francisco Chinatown and get some overpriced VHS, VCDs, or LazerDiscs of Anime, and hope that they had English subtitles on them (even crappy Chinese translated bootleg ones), in the hopes that you could understand the basic plot. We really are spoiled these days.

Happened with a Forza Horizon 4 update yesterday. Ever since the free to play weekend of BL3 it has been acting wonky. If I had the time/motivation I would have probably traded it yesterday and got a new one at GS (was DOTD yesterday). I don't have a controller I want to trade so would have had to gotten someone cool that would have taken it out of the new one.

BL3 has a bug that seems to only affect a few people. Where if you try to join someones game your console will shutdown. Which happened to me 3 times. After that I reset the console. Yesterday I couldn't get FH4 to start (has been happening ever since the BL3 issues). Noticed it had a stuck pending update.

Thought maybe my external drive was going so moved FH4 to internal storage a couple weeks back. Didn't make any difference. I am just firing it up to get the free car of the day. I did play an hour or two of Outer Worlds with no issue and a bit of Gears 5.

Once I get a game loaded it works fine. Hopefully it holds out another year. Really not sure WTF is going on. Was rock solid until the BL3 free to play weekend. Really don't want to buy another X now less then a year from the new X series. I originally said I wasn't likely to get one at launch but I might now.

I Mean it works after I "Uninstall" (when there's legit nothing there) and then go and download it again. Mine is just a super annoying inconvenience if anything.

If nothing else works, just move all your games off your internal to your external and do a factory reset . Usually there seems to be a good chunk of difference in doing that and it sounds much better than having to buy a new console.

I have everything on the External (other then FH4 which I recently moved to internal) and did do the factory reset. Seemed to make games load much faster. Everything seemed fine until last night with the stuck FH4 update that was stuck. I wasn't sure if delete there would delete the game or update. I only had a few mins to claim the free car. A hard reset got the stupid update moving and seemed fine for the 3 mins I was in FH4.

Maybe I will move it back to external and reset it one last time.

I don't game as much as I used to so if it craps out in the spring I might just wait until the new consoles are out or maybe pick up a XBox One S to hold me over.

Doing the Supreme Kai's work by dropping those anime seasons on us, thank you sir. Most have already been picked up from past free anime days, but adding more seasons to Fairy Tail was a pleasant surprise.

I don't think it was the entire neighborhood though because that would be really unrealistic. Plenty of them would be having their families come to them for Christmas. They were just casing the richest neighborhoods to see who wouldn't be home.

Anyway, Disney is already rebooting Home Alone for Disney+:

I dunno what is up with this game. You have to give permissions to play and the 24 hour trial starts AS SOON AS YOU START THE DOWNLOAD. It's a reeaaaaally old school rpg, like 1981 rpg. It has too much RNG for me though.

I think I'll be a good CAG and not spend $40 to add games to my backlog for some points.

Think I may pick up KotOR since I missed it when it was free for watching that stream or whatever a while back. Think even though we've gotten a bunch of star wars stuff on GwG we probably wont get that one any time soon since it was given away already. Of course by buying it I will make it be GwG sooner.

Did you see the Entertainment Weekly review where the reviewer decided to skip from episode 2 to 5 because "life's too short for netflix dramas" and then gave it a 0/100 on metacritic.

My coworker just got me Jedi Fallen Order so I started that. I've also been playing Code Vein and the Doom re-release since they announced their adding more content and updates to it. Other than that all the games are doing their Christmas events now. Personally I've been playing Fortnite's and Destiny 2's. Overwatch did some kind of update to their usual snowball fight mode this year too.

Winter event in overwatch for me. I think I'll start something new, probably a couple of 2 or 3 hour gamepass games like old mans journey.

I only get Christmas day and new years day off but I work the day shift instead of the night shift during the next two weeks, so that's nice. I did end up taking overtime work through christmas eve though, so may not have time to play much.

It's a free for all version of snowball fight but they changed mechanics, including the ability to catch a snowball being thrown at you which is fun. Even though it isn't a completely new event like yeti hunt to snowball fight, I enjoy it and welcome the addition.

I would've bought some of those old school Final Fantasy games but since they're coming to Game Pass soon, I might as well wait and play them when they're on there and maybe buy them much later were they're much cheaper.

Hard to say how it will do because this is the first time since Halo 1 that a new engine has been built. Both Halo 4 and 5 were still based on the bones of the Bungie-era games. It could go either way. Since they preseumably knew that PC would be a major platform they may have built it with scalability in mind, which I believe was done by Rare for Sea of Thieves.

Halo 5 is an interesting example here since it came out well before the X, early enough that it may not have been all that heavily accounted for. Halo 5 ran fine on a normal 1X, though it was clear that many sacrifices were made to hit 60 FPS. Things like the horrible lighting on character models in multiplayer, the low level of detail on the most Forge geometry (that didn't release until way after launch), and the death of split-screen. Digital Foundry took a pretty extensive look at the game running on both models once the X update came out, and the higher spec basically lead to less pop-in and a more consistently high resolution, though it still runs with a dynamic res.

343, and most devs of multiplayer games, seem to want to avoid having players on different consoles running at different framerates even though that would probably be the best visual compromise since it gives the more powerful console a competitive advantage, so we'll probably just see some low resolutions on the Xbone and 1S. Possibly as low as 720p is my guess, but Halo 2 Anniversary was shooting for 900p so hopefully it can match that.

I'm strangely addicted to Lonely Mountains Downhill game. I may eventually get frustrated with the constant crashes (and there's at least one trail that's a motherfucker) but so far it's been challenging enough for me to keep at it.

Gears 5, Forza Horizon 4, maybe go back to BL3, Fallen Order and Pokemon. Work on the TA 12 days, currently on day 5. Probably some Mario Kart with my niece and nephew and hope they aren't too disappointed that Santa didn't leave a Switch at my house for them.
