Often overlooked, GoD are by default displayed in dollars both on Xbox.com as well as on the console, but on the very-first confirmation screen of the download process is the option to use Microsoft Points in place of real-world currency.

Through the console, after first selecting to download a GoD you are greeted by a familiar gray confirmation screen that pops up displaying the size of the download as well as confirming the price. At the bottom of this gray pop-up is the instruction to press the "X button" in order to change the payment type to MSP. Pictured below with an arrow:

On Xbox.com they've made it much more obvious, the confirmation "extra step" pop-up after clicking the download link displays a link that simply says "Use Microsoft Points" directly under the price in dollars at the top of the page.

noticed Prey is on there for $2.99, I enjoyed that game, nice corridor FPS.. good pickup for $2.99.

played / looked great on 360, much better optimized for 360 than Quake 4 of the same engine.

glassghost0 on GFAQs posted this

Hasbro Family Game Night 3 - 9.99
Monopoly Streets- 9.99
Kinect Sports 2 - 9.99
Lego Batman 2 - 9.99
Rockstar Table Tennis - 2.99
Lego Lord of the Rings - 14.99

If you like Dragon Age or KoA, you'll probably enjoy it. I paid $15 with no expectations, and I really enjoyed it. $5 is a great deal.
Now that's a comparison I like to see. You just named two of my faves and talked me into Divinity. Just have to wait for BL2 to finish downloading. I'm also gonna grab Lego LotR at that price.

Now I'm really getting low on points. Somebody sell me a 1200pt code for $10, you know thats double than what you paid :p I gotta keep shopping! Damn MS...

MS has some retarded policy about GoD requiring a wait of what seems to be 3 months after the retail release.
i think GTA 5 is likely to be uploaded very soon after release, mostly because

1) mandatory install anyway

2) xbone comes out very soon after, so that 3 month shit needs to get out of people's minds. some recent games have gone up very quick, nba 2k got put up day of release. i'm saving some points for $20 gta 5 and nba 2k14 too, i can't imagine them holding out on gta 5 for long considering those circumstances.

with fable 3, kingdom of amular, and skyrim in my backlog, should I skip on dragon age and divinity?
Never played Divinity, but w Dragon Age I would hold off for awhile. Knock out the other games, if you're still interested just get the ultimate edition, you can probably find it for 15-20 bucks somewhere. I got it for 20 new from Best Buy in January or so. It's worth it, comes with all the DLC including the expansion pack, Awakening. That winds up saving you A LOT of money if you were planning on getting the DLC anyway.

So when do these prices end exactly? Sorry if I'm blind. I just got 1600 points just to buy two copies on two xboxes but can't reach one at the moment. And won't be able to until 1-2AM CST. Thanks in advance.

I agree with getting the Ultimate Edition if you are to get it. Dragon Age is a terrific RPG worth playing. Personally, it's my favorite RPG. I have it ranked over all 3 of those games you listed. Definitely a must play. When, that's up to you my friend.

In for Monopoly Streets and Lego Batman.  I've really gotten into playing some of these board games against AI so $10 is a good price.  And Lego Batman wont hit this price for a while on disc so I might as well.

Will wait on Lego LOTR.  Too many other games at the moment so I will save it for a B2G1 at $20 down the road.

  • Whew, a lot has happened in such a short time. Where to begin?

I'm honestly happy that some of the free games are going to be arcade games. I had never even heard of Defense Grid, but it's pretty solid. I'm hoping some older arcade games i don't own (such as Shadow Complex and Banjo) are part of this as well.

This ultimate game sale is pretty awesome thusfar, and it looks like i ordered my 250 GB hard drive just in time (I have 1 GB left on my 120 Gig). Def gonna get Crisis and Divinity. I'm hoping for $10 on Tomb Raider, and maybe $15 on Metal Gear? I cn dream at least.

And FINALLY, Knife of Dunwall. I'm beyond excited to go back to Dishonored. Easily my favorite game of 2012.

Not for that price! I've seen physical copies this low. I'm surprised the Lego games weren't $5.
Have you seen them for $3.33? Because many of us have lots of points from the 1200 MS point craziness. I understand you are answering this question straight up but many here are not looking at this as $10.

Just wondering if there's been any news on a Summer of Arcade campaign this year.
Like around E3. Starts August 7 or so and Flashback, Tale of Two Brothers and other things that aren't Ducktales are part of it.

Kinect Sports Season 2 is tempting. If it was 400 MSP I'd buy it for sure.
This. I Have an asinine amount of MS points and don't feel like buying any for a Hungarian account, plus I'm sure eventually they Ultimate collection with all the DLC and the first game will be $15 again.

Man this sale is brutal so far, already picked up:

ME3 Omega 600 MSP

Borderlands 2 800 MSP (trading in my disc copy to Amazon for $13)

Monopoly Streets 800 MSP

Lego Batman 2 800 MSP

And I'm considering Bulletstorm, Crysis, and Far Cry Instincts.  Yowza!

I got my Ascend: Hand of Kul beta acceptance today.  So if you applied to be in the beta, be on the look out for an email to see if you got in.

Look at target. I found a copy 2 weeks back for $2.66.

Yea I know, and I have points from that too....but just as a base price it's not very tempting.... It's just not a good value, IMO. I'd rather wait and spend it on something that's a good value on top of the good value from the points purchases.

This is awful.  I need more HD space.  I wish MS would allow us to sell digital stuff back to them....I'd gladly trade in Rayman Raving Rabids for 80msp to save 4 gigs of space for a good game.

Probably not, but the online is so dead I don't think it matters. The few people that play probably only have the free map pack.
On the contrary. I still play the game with several others, and we all have the map packs. The game still has a community that is very devoted to the game. The game's level of match customization with bots is ridiculously awesome. And it's not Call of Duty in any way, shape, or form. So that's always a plus.

Anyone know if Mass Effect and Bulletstorm are region free?

EDIT: Caught Tsel's link from the last page. Drat on ME :(

If you buy Lego Batman II and have a Power Up Rewards account with GameStop, they sell the 5 Villains Pack for 2,000 Points at PowerUpRewards.com (it should be under the Digital Rewards).  The pack only costs 160 Microsoft Points, so it's not very expensive.  But if you have points with GameStop, and don't know what to use them on, it's an option.

If you're so willing to trade in for a mere dollar, why not just delete the game from your hard drive for the time being?

This may have been said, but what do you guys think gears judgement and left 4 dead 2's prices will end up being? Tomb raider as well
If Gears Judgement ends up being anything higher than free, don't buy it. Seriously. Don't let low prices trick you into buying bad games.

I usually put a pin on the games i buy digitally (kind of like a bookmark on the xbox dashboard) so i can keep track of all the games i have. I delete the games i'm not playing currently to make room on my hard drive for the games i want to download. it's a nice way to keep track of everything, i'm really glad they added that feature.

also, it keeps a count of how many pin's i have so it shows me how many games i have. i'm up to about 62 games on my backlog :joystick:
That's genius! I actually have so many games, I had to go to my Download History/Purchase History and jot down the games I haven't downloaded/played yet (which is a lot :/).

I'm assuming L4D2 and The Orange Box will both be $10 again. With the exception of R* Table Tennis, I think the $5 and under games will only be the week-long options. Granted, I could be way off with that estimate, but I doubt it.

Also, if you don't own The Orange Box and continue not to after this sale is over, you're tacky and I hate you.

I don't understand the hate for Judgement. The campaign is weird sure, it plays like a mix of campaign and horde with all the sections where you have to defend a spot but other than a few minor changes (some of which I think improve the game such as the removal of active reload) the online feels exactly the same as every other GoW to me. If I had payed full retail day 1 (I didn't) I wouldn't have regretted it at all.

I agree. Feels the same. Maybe a couple new guns and the ability to jump off ledges were the biggest changes I noticed. But unlike most of the Gears community I can adapt and still enjoy the game and be good at it. Biggest flaw about the game was the low number of maps. But now I think there are like 8 total (maybe a bit more cant remember ATM) and 5 for overrun.

It's the VS multiplayer, they made lots of changes and it's worse off. Overrun is literally the only reason I play the game.

It might not be a terrible game on its own. If you're a fan of any of the original three games, it's a slap in the face.

- Campaign has an arcade feel (which is okay on its own, but should have been a bonus, NOT the main campaign)

- No horde

- No Execution or Warzone (the first game launched with these two and Assassination, they were the staples of the franchise. How can they ditch them?!)

- No down-but-not-out mode when you're out of health

- The game ships with four competitive multiplayer maps. The first map pack only consists of remakes, one of which has already been remade TWICE.

- You can only carry one weapon at a time, limiting you to strictly long-range or strictly close-range. This isn't Call of Duty.

- No more smoke grenades. Everyone spawns with frags now.

- You can no longer play as the Locust. It's Cog vs Cog. Why?

I think Judgment is the worst of the series, but with that said, it's not a BAD game. People who think that's a bad game need to actually play some broken and terrible games before they form that opinion.

Highly recommend Judgment for $10. If you like Gears, $15 is good too.

Yes, and if you're going to lump me in with a group of people with an opinion, make me the "leader" of those guys. It wasn't just a bad sequel, they went out of their way to change how the game works and sold it as a seq... err, prequel. Whatever. I'm not a gigantic Halo fan and I didn't feel like Halo 4 was that different from the rest of that series, but I know some Halo fans that were appalled by it. Gears of War was one of the few game franchises this generation that I really stood by, and it was just a low-blow.

Is it a terrible game on its own? Maybe not. The controls work well and the graphics are nice. But even looking past all the stupid changes, it should be avoided on principle. It's the definition of a cash-grab release in terms of content and launch price. If you want Gears, get Gears 3. If you don't want Gears, good, find another game that's better than Judgement. Why bother? There's so many better games out there to play, and so many better games in this sale.

Overrun is pretty neat, but not enough for me to want to boot the game up to play exclusively.
