Often overlooked, GoD are by default displayed in dollars both on Xbox.com as well as on the console, but on the very-first confirmation screen of the download process is the option to use Microsoft Points in place of real-world currency.

Through the console, after first selecting to download a GoD you are greeted by a familiar gray confirmation screen that pops up displaying the size of the download as well as confirming the price. At the bottom of this gray pop-up is the instruction to press the "X button" in order to change the payment type to MSP. Pictured below with an arrow:

On Xbox.com they've made it much more obvious, the confirmation "extra step" pop-up after clicking the download link displays a link that simply says "Use Microsoft Points" directly under the price in dollars at the top of the page.
Thank you guys for all the outpouring of love for Dust:AET, hope you enjoy the game :)

As for me, time to finally splurge on some tables for Pinball FX. Also, I know that Hydrophobia isn't amazing, but I picked it up on Steam and was disappointed with the replaced VO. I sort of want to get the original VO on the XBLA version.
This is.....really cool. I loved Dust!

I recall the original voice work was pretty bad on Hydrophobia as well. I haven't heard any of the redone stuff.
I thought Ikaruga's timer stopped while the game is paused. You're sure?
I was under this impression as well.

Doh. I think I was thinking of Radiant Silvergun. Not sure about Ikaruga. Sorry for the misinformation.
Castle Crashers for 800 the lowest it's been?
Why does it get so much attention?
It's a mindless hack and slash with 4 player co-op. Graphics and animations are good. I'm willing to bet its been 600 points before though. Most people already have it, game has been out forever.

edit: if anyone wants to play CC, message me on xbl
And we hope you make more stuff ;)
Absolutely this. I loved Dust and recommend it to everyone. I'm sure anything else you make will be awesome Noogy. So, get on that, and you can shut up and take my money.

Also, I'm pretty sure you being here makes Dust even cooler than it was. Somehow.
Castle Crashers for 800 the lowest it's been?
The xbldb link in the OP will answer the question.
Give it some time. It only showed up now that I left my 360 on for 5 hours in Darkstalkers Resurrection's training mode when I went out of town to do stuff on April 1st. Plus it states it'll take 3-5 days in order to appear. I'm just glad it shows the hours since that can be the hardest to keep track of.

Not too big on Poker, but that Telltale Games' Poker Night 2 looks alright. Plus each system has its own special unlockables. XBLA gets avatar awards (like a Portal test chamber & a Bloodwing from Borderlands 2), PSN gets XMB themes, and PC version gets TF2 hats. All versions also include Borderlands 2 bonuses as well.
Thank you for reiterating that it takes 3-5 days. When people say they just bought it and then complain that it's not showing up on the punchcard I shake my head.

Ooh and thanks from the Poker Night 2 details. I didn't know about the exclusive unlockables! Looks like I'll get it on XBLA and probably on Steam when it's inevitably super cheap. Not to be a total fangirl but I always prefer getting avatar items on XBL versus themes on PSN. It works for the respective platforms yet I prefer avatar awards.

I forgot I don't own Pool Nation from the MGS sale. Last time it was on sale I was considering it since I do like pool, but I heard it gets rather difficult quickly. I already own Bankshot Billiards and stopped playing that long ago. Just like poker, how many versions does one person need? (Not enough apparently since I'm going to get PN2 eventually haha.) If I do get it it will count as one of my four punchcard games. Hmm... I wish it was a permanent drop so I could wait until the end of the month to decide like I am with Terraria and Monaco.

And good job whoever did the "Check your previous S&S+ app purchases" note in the OP. That's a good tip! Thank you again to each person who contributes!

I'm even more of a PS3 fan, and I still prefer avatar items. To me, I find a theme I like and stick with it (right now it's the Mexican Skulls one from PS+), but avatar items are fun to collect and swap out. Idk, just feels more like something I earned than themes do. Not that I know if I'll pick up the poker game, so this is probably irrelevant I suppose, but I wish more games had avatar unlocks (as stupid as they are);)

We should make a simple list of all eligible arcade games for the punchcard promotion

Collect Games, Get Gold
- Buy 4 XBLA games worth 400 or more. Win 1 month XBL
- Eligible games:

Spend More, Get More
- Buy 4 XBLA games worth 800 or more. Win 800 MSP
- Eligible games:

Eat. Sleep. Game.
- Play 4 or more games for 5 hours each with 20 hours total. Win an avatar item
- Eligible games:

What do you think? We should also include it in the OP so people won't have to keep asking for which games are eligible

I think it's an excellent idea, but a better place for it would be the Xbox Rewards thread. People have done a great job keeping the promo details and eligible games updated in that thread on similar promos in the past.

Except that those are wrong. You don't need to buy four arcade games that are at least 800 points, as you just need to spend 3200 points and you get a punch on the Punchcard site for every 800 points that are spent. You also don't need to play four arcade games for five hours each to get the time punches, as you just get a punch for every five hours played amongst arcade games.

Agreed, it probably belongs in the Xbox Rewards thread. Also, there's got to be over 500 XBLA games that are 400 MSP or more, so that's gonna be a hell of a list.
So weird that Quarrel doesn't have local multiplayer.
So fucking weird! Went to play with a buddy and we were both shocked that it wasn't available. Especially since you really can't cheat off your local opponent's words since time is also a factor.

If Microsoft weren't so stupid about it, the old Destination Arcade app could've been perfect for that.

Are you implying you only need to spend 3200 total on arcade games? I assumed they had to be 800 or more to get a single punch, and 4 punches were required to win the 800 point reward.

Strongly considering Dust, I had added it to my want list a week before the sale. I'm just short of points, though, and not 100% sure I want to add more right now.

3200 total. It just keeps track of your spending in 800 point chunks.

It's a great, great game. One of my 10 favorite games overall in 2012. Grab it at that price, especially with the rebate potential this month.

Yeah I'm not sure why MS keeps deciding to abandon the awesome arcade apps they create...

So the lesson of the day kids is: Dust is awesome. Let's move on now.

Here's an off-topic question: I am moving my 360 to a different room where I have more space. Which is better for the system; to be standing up or laying down on it's side? Not sure which position offers better ventilation. With the HD on top I've had mine upright for the past few years now.
I have the older white (not launch) Jasper console if that makes any difference.

You're running the risk of getting a ring scratch by running a 360 "upright." If the console moves at all, even half an inch, the disc in the console will most likely get a full 360 degree scratch, rendering it unplayable. In my experience, only about 25% of those can be repaired through resurfacing.
I wouldn't trust a system with a disc tray standing up.
PS3 would be fine standing up, Wii is meant to be standing up (although optional).

I have mine lying down on it's side. I shiver at the thought of inserting a disc to an "upright" console, it's unnatural to do that (imo).

I've always assumed that standing the system up was better for keeping the temperature in check since it exposes the most surface area. My PS3 & 360 have run standing up for years without any heat problems. Just don't move the 360 very much while it's got a disc in it. I wouldn't think that laying the systems flat would be a whole lot worse though.
PS3 would be fine standing up, Wii is meant to be standing up (although optional).
Neither of those have disc trays, which is my point. I'm hoping that both next-gen systems features disc slots like the Wii and PS3 so that disc trays are a thing of the past.

Conversely it gives the least amount of area for weight distribution. Not a big deal for PS3 but 360 with it's potential of ringing any game if console has a dust mite pass gas by it, probably not the better choice to stand it up

Bam! The best of both worlds for the low, low cost of only $50. ;)

All I know is I had my 360 slim sitting down, and eventually the disc reader stopped working. About 3 weeks later, I tried it laying down, and it still didn't work, so I moved it to a shelf closer to the ground and put it upright with a fan blowing at it, and I haven't had a problem since.

So, my recommendation is have the console lower to the ground, sitting upright. If you can have a fan point at it, do so. The air is cooler lower to the ground, since heat rises, and the fan helps it stay cool.

EDIT: I also have a desk pole on one side of it and my Wii on the other side, so there's little to no chance it'll move on its own and scratch a disc.

I am not disputing your results, but you have to have a pretty massive bookshelf for it to make a difference on which shelf you have the console. The difference in elevation between the two shelves has to be astounding. How many miles above sea level was each? ;)
Just kidding man. I appreciate the advice.

I know this is kind of unrelated, but I'm trying to decide on some games to qualify for the punch card promotion this week, and I'm mulling over Tetris Splash. I'm mainly interested in it for the Local Multiplayer, but I can't find any sources that mention if you can do 4 Player Versus. Can anyone vouch for if it does or doesn't? I'd really appreciate it.

My ps3 slim wouldn't play God of War Ascension and I read on a forum that people had to stand the system vertically. I was skeptical but had nothing to lose and it worked like a charm.

xbox.com sez "Local Multiplayer 2-4,"

Sorry, maybe I could have been a bit clearer. I'm curious if it has Local 4 Player Versus - i.e., not co-op. I mean, I'm not sure how Tetris co-op would work, but I've heard the game has it, which is why I'm wondering.

Maybe this fan is different, but fans have a notoriously bad reputation for being very bad for consoles and typically shorter their lifespan than extend it.

50 nautical miles, actually. You don't even know lol.

A few feet can make a difference sometimes, I guess. :p

That doesn't surprise me. I remember doing that with my PSOne console and it worked like a charm. That's probably why I tend to leave my consoles horizontal until they give me issues then I give them the vertical treatment lol. My consoles are usually in isolated areas so I don't have to worry about my niece/nephew or pets bumping the console and scratching my discs when I do go vertical. (It's like going turbo for console owners ;))

Does anyone have impressions on Terraria? I've heard good stuff about the PC version and own it on Steam but haven't played it. I know they've improved it for XBLA and I'm going to play the trial tonight but wanted your opinion(s).
Any thoughts on A Kingdom Of Keflings? Worth the 400 points?
Pass on that and get the sequel A World of Keflings instead. They fixed and expanded upon quite a bit from A Kingdom for Keflings and it has better DLC which also includes achievements if you care about that. Both games are fun time wasters and I found them to be relaxing and addicting. Play the trial since it will let you know exactly what you're in for: resource management and bossing keflings around.

Speaking of which, I'd love for the Curse of the Zombiesaurus DLC to finally go on sale. I've completed the others after the holiday sale. I was really hoping it would be included this week. :(

Absolutely. World of Kefling is so much more refined and easier to play. It offers a better experience and is definitely superior.

This... can't be right. I'm positive I played Quarrel with my gf, from the couch no-less. Silly questions follow: were you both signed-in when you got to the main screen? Did you dig around in the exhibition/free-play mode? Simply try pressing start on the second controller at any point?

I'll fire it up when I have time again tomorrow, but like I said, I'm nearly 100% posiitve that we played it together.
Absolutely. World of Kefling is so much more refined and easier to play. It offers a better experience and is definitely superior.
And I noticed AKFK is 800 MSP while the superior AWOK is 400 MSP. Get a better game for 1/2 the price! What's not to love?
Absolutely. World of Kefling is so much more refined and easier to play. It offers a better experience and is definitely superior.
A World of Keflings had a weird bug for me where I had to destroy buildings to get enough materials to keep progressing, so I'd say the original was a bit better made though both are great games.
Ugh! The two new DLCs are abominations. They're no where near the quality of the main game. Then again, if you liked Sugar & Spice you may like Zombiesaurus since it's slightly less annoying. :)
A World of Keflings had a weird bug for me where I had to destroy buildings to get enough materials to keep progressing, so I'd say the original was a bit better made though both are great games.
It's not a bug. You have to have a plan and can't just build willy nilly. As long as you build a building that genrates accessories (snowman shop, flower shop...etc) you should be all set and you don't have to destroy any buildings to salvage pieces. Even if you don't, there is no way to REALLY get stuck.

So somehow I relaized I didn't already own ilomilo. This game is worth it for 400 microsoft points right? It looks like it could be fun. Thoughts?

Oops :p

I meant AWOK (the one that's on sale) but didn't notice I typed Kingdom
So worth the 400?
