Often overlooked, GoD are by default displayed in dollars both on Xbox.com as well as on the console, but on the very-first confirmation screen of the download process is the option to use Microsoft Points in place of real-world currency.

Through the console, after first selecting to download a GoD you are greeted by a familiar gray confirmation screen that pops up displaying the size of the download as well as confirming the price. At the bottom of this gray pop-up is the instruction to press the "X button" in order to change the payment type to MSP. Pictured below with an arrow:

On Xbox.com they've made it much more obvious, the confirmation "extra step" pop-up after clicking the download link displays a link that simply says "Use Microsoft Points" directly under the price in dollars at the top of the page.

This made me lol. That's exactly how I felt. To this day I regret buying MK Arcade Kollection more than any other XBLA purchase. For me it was an impulse buy when it came out so I got it at full price too. I used to love the MK games on consoles. Unfortunately these are the arcade versions, making them stupid hard. Plus I don't own a fight stick. I really have no idea what I was thinking at the time. :)
Motocross Madness is a bad avatar racing game.

If you really want to race with avatars, Joy Ride Turbo is the better game.

If you just want to ride dirt bikes, Trials EVO is a much better dirt bike game.

There is no reason to get Motocross Madness.
And the alternative opinion...

It's a pretty decent game for what it is. Single player is more fun than online (might change once you max out the unlockables and can actually be competitive). There is either some glitching in the system, or there are active cheats, because there are people with incredibly (impossibly) high scores showing up on the leaderboards.

I love Trials Evolution, and wouldn't compare this to Trials at all. It's more classic racing rather than the platform racing of Trials.

I will say that I spent quite a lot of time cussing at "cheap" falls, but not to the point of actually rage quitting.

For 800 points, I think it's a decent value. I've already gotten my money's worth just playing it this past weekend.

Why on earth would you compare Motocross Madness to Trials?
man, XBL is pretty quiet these days. I'm new to live, but I always heard that there was a lot of chatting, or at least some communication for gameplay's sake. Found one person with a mic, said hi...dead silence. Maybe my voice is turning people off, I don't know:whistle2:(

So question: do you use your mic online, outside of with friends obviously?
I'll set in parties if I am playing a game that is different from those in my party. If we are playing the same game I like to switch over to game chat and continue to talk to the party members there. I really wish games would have a filter to maybe chose if you want to use a mic or not.
God Mode is a Friday XBLA release, so raise your red flags.
Umm, a lot of games are released on Friday. Mark of the Ninja was. Don't read too much into it.

Sacred Citadel is coming out this Wednesday. I think it looks pretty cool, I'm sure it will be 1200 MSP as the PSN price has been confirmed at $14.99.

Yeah, I also keep an eye on that game. Will get it eventually, but sure as hell not for 12000msp.

I'm a huge fan of the Sacred series so it could be a day 1 for me as I still need more points spent to fulfill April rewards. Gonna see what it looks like first though.
It's a weird day to have a sale for Tax Day when all of those people won't get their checks for a few weeks.
I would think most people submitting their taxes today waited until the last minute because they owe, while people getting sizable refunds take care of that relatively early.

But people rarely make sense, so I may be wrong.

Yeah, I got it for nostalgia last time it was on sale. I played it once and haven't went back at all. I knew something was up when I had a crazy difficult time winning the first match.

And I used to beat it all the time when I was little. Only Arcade game I regret buying

Lots of people are willing to spend money they don't yet have just because they know it will be there soon.

Ha, I filed mine like 1-2 weeks ago online, just waited so long cuz I'm a huge procrastinator.

But I didn't have to pay, I'm getting back a decent amount, got my state Friday and I'm supposed to get my federal tomorrow.

Exactly. Even a complete new player could walk into the arcade and beat the first guy by spamming the same moves. I pulled it back up to try again and got beat the first round. Damn Sonya was countering everything on very easy. The only way I'll waste HD space on that is if it's free....maybe.

I wasn't able to make quarterly estimated tax payments so I just wrote a check for $4,100 to the gov'ment. Ouch! Already have ms points in account so at least I won't need to buy any.

It seems like a lot of people here have assumed in the past that Skyrim, like several Bethesda games before it, would have more DLC incoming. That is apparently not the case. Link

I like how Fallout 4 is expected "before 2018."

The reason why is because MS had a contract with Beth for the first THREE major expansions to be released on 360 first. I guess Beth has to cough up some of that money back to MS depending on how the contract was set up.

Wow that kinda sucks, I expected 1 more big expansion, thought I read about it somewhere. Shame.

Seriously, I have so many demos downloaded waiting to go on sale so I could instantly buy them!

not sure if they include the games you want, but you may want to check out the disc versions. They go for about $10-15 on amazon for a three pack, so it may be cheaper.

I have both of them. They are totally worth it!

Pretty much waiting for a few other games to go on sale.

Okay so at first the Punchcards made an error in my favor but now it looks like the opposite.

I need one more game and apparently another 1,600msp (I think this is wrong and isn't changed)

What games do you guys recommend, I have too many to list already so just assume I have most of the big/popular ones.

I was thinking about the Bit Trip Runner game, but is it worth 1200? I know I'm gonna get Geo Wars 2 this week but these new games coming out, do any of them look good? I haven't looked at them any.

Looks like they don't even have a specific Tax Day sale, just highlighting that the stuff that's already on sale in that section of the dashboard can be bought today, which also happens to be Tax Day. It's the laziest promotion I've seen from them in a while, as the only work they did was creating that blurry banner image for the dashboard.

A couple lesser know games I'd recommend (note, some I've only played the demos of, but they still look promising):

Misadventures of PB Winterbottom
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
ilomilo
Alien Hominid
Stacking
Bastion
Joe Danger (either one)
The Dishwasher VS (haven't actually played at all, but the art style is really cool)

More mainstream, but incase you don't have them:

Super Meat Boy
Dust
Mark of the Ninja
Fez
Plants vs Zombies:applause::applause::applause:
Rock Band Blitz

So is there no update on if there is or isn't a sale on today? I know people said it just showed this weeks sale and nothing else, but that was a few hours ago. Couldn't find mention on twitter either.

I was gonna grab a 1600msp card w/ extra money on my way home from work if there was something.

Hate to say it, but also wonder if there was a delay/stoppage with everything going on in Boston (I know Microsoft isn't there, but still)

Plants vs Zombies is on disc though. Playing it on my phone first kinda ruined it too.

Bastion seems excellent, but I wonder how it will be in the long run. Demo was pretty convincing.

Nice 1st list, I'll check out Shadow Planet, Alien Hominid, and The Dishwasher. I tried Winterbottom when it was 200msp but it wasn't for me, even at that price. I have Stacking though, great game, loved it, just need the dlc to go on sale again, no way I'm paying more for that when I got the full game when it was on sale for 300.

And the only one I don't have on the second list is P vs. Z. I've never played it at all, I'll give it a try. Thank you very much for the suggestions.

I know, but he needed more points, so I just threw it out there. I got Bastion from the Humble Bundle, and everything I've played has been awesome. I'm not very far in, but I don't imagine it isn't going to continue this trend;)

Plants vs Zombies is a must for anyone! I've rebought and played through it more times than I care to admit, but it never gets old. It is on disc with Peggle and Heavy Weapon included though, so if you can find something else to spend 1600 on then that would be the better buy. Forgot about Braid and Limbo, but I figured you had them as they are rather well know now.

Actually, I don't have Braid but it never interested me, I guess I'll have to check it out though. What game/games would you compare it to?

Personally, I'd select something that may never go on sale...Radiant Silvergun is the first thing that comes to mind.

PS: Heavy Weapon is on the Feeding Frenzy POP cap disc. Plants vs Zombies has Peggle and Zuma.

I also just realized that we were talking about Braid, I was confusing it for Bastion. I don't have either but I remember playing the trial for Braid and it didn't hook me either. I also think I know the ending/twist

Radiant Silvergun has been on sale twice.

yeah, Braid is a lot like Winterbottom (or the other way around I guess), so I wouldn't expect you to enjoy one if you didn't like the other, at least not to much. Bastion, it's really it's own game. The cool thing about it is that everything is narrated, but in a really awesome overly dramatic way, and the art is very well done. The gameplay so far has been somewhat like a top down brawler, but I expect it will end up being somewhat like a Metroivania sort of game once I'm farther in, at least it just feels like it's headed that way. I can't really think of anything I dislike about it, but then again I've only gotten about an hour in tops.

oh, my bad. I have the PS3 version, and that is what's on it, but I guess they switched it around for the 360 version.

There was a rumor of a registered "Redguard" trademark but that ended up being false apparently.

I wouldn't say bastion is a metroivania at all, it's very much a brawler, but the art style and music/voice over work is what carries it. I also loved the weapon design, it added a new dimension to the game and in my eyes it was very balanced as far as difficulty.

well I guess my first impression was correct then, good to know. I'd still recommend it, at least from what I've played:)

So it sounds like Skyrim DLC is done. I would expect a GOTY version soon I hope.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/...-Bethesda-Moves-On-To-Its-Next-Adventure.html

"Skyrim has been a labor of love for us since we started designing it in 2006. We never imagined it would become the phenomenon it has. And that is because of you, the fans. It was all of you who made it a success. We can’t thank you enough for embracing the game, spreading the word, and making it your own.

For the last year and a half we’ve been working on new content for Skyrim; from the game updates, Creation Kit, Steam Workshop, Kinect support, to DLCs. Parts of our team have also been in pre-production on our next major project, and that game is at the point where it requires the studio’s full attention to make it our biggest and best work yet.

Even though we’re moving on, we’ll still have minor updates to Skyrim as needed. We’ve invested so much of ourselves into Skyrim and will never truly say goodbye to it.

We loved hearing your stories, your in-game triumphs, and your suggestions. One thing stuck out to us through those emails, letters, and postings. And that is – video games matter. They’re as important to you as they are to us. It’s not just about entertainment, it’s about your time. And you chose to spend it with our game.

Thank you again for all your support. We hope you stay engaged in the gaming community here and elsewhere. Keep spreading the word. Games are the world’s best entertainment because they can do what other forms cannot – fill you with the wonder of exploration and the pride of accomplishment. We look forward to sharing our next adventure with you.

Until next time,

Bethesda Game Studios"
