Through the console, after first selecting to download a GoD you are greeted by a familiar gray confirmation screen that pops up displaying the size of the download as well as confirming the price. At the bottom of this gray pop-up is the instruction to press the "X button" in order to change the payment type to MSP. Pictured below with an arrow:
Are you the quest giver that is handing out Time Missions?
I was wondering who it was going to be to take a crack at the missions typo.

Someone with entirely too much time on his/her hands should put together some chart/list of all the games that have been on sale and how often they've been marked down. I still feel the sting of the first DOTW sale item I missed, Death Tank, marked down in the way back when of November 2009.
You would need a time mission to catch them on sale. Kazooie was on sale April 2011 and Tooie was on sale in June and December of 2010.
Heh, thanks for reminding me why they're in my collection. By the time they hit the N64 I was spending all my money on import Saturn games. I guess they're solid examples of the genre but there's no nostalgia there for me.
It's a beat em up, but a pretty good one from the song of things. Might pick it up if there is another punchcard promo this month

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. Extremely popular title around these parts, for pretty good reason.

Double Dragon
D&D Tower of Doom and D&D Shadow over Mystara
Thanks for the advice and comparisons y'all! Definitely grabbing it now. Castlevania SotN, X-Men and Scott Pilgrim (plus DLC) and I'm done for this week. Doesn't seem like a bad way to spend 1120 MSP. It's been awhile since I spent over 800 MSP.

This is pretty much exactly what xbldb is, isn't it? Except in website form instead of list/chart form.

Also, I haven't heard from Spylon in months. Hope he's doing ok.

Well yeah, but that involves a lot more clicking :p And I second your sentiments on Spylon. XBLDB is an incredible asset to us, even if the layout does leave a little to be desired.

Does anyone know if a silver account using a two week gold trial has access to these gold-only deals? I'd like to get Scott Pilgrim with some leftover points...

As far as I know it's no dice as trials don't work for gold deals. There is a forum explaining how you can get a month of live for free or cheap somewhere if you go lurking for it.

Did you enjoy the gameplay in Far Cry 3? Do you enjoy 80's camp? If the answers to both of those are yes and you enjoy the demo then pick it up. Plus it has dinosaurs with LASERS!

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is pretty awesome. I'd say underated if it doesn't hold a 85% or higher average. So far the first game I'm not agreeing with on "critics" this year.

DINO RIDERS!!!! I loved those toys and he cartoon!

I didn't remember Spider Riders, either. Checked online, that show ran from 2006-07. I also remember Dino-Riders and Sectaurs. Have the Sectaurs Hyve playset somewhere. Never had anything else from that toyline, but it served as Snake Mountain for my He-Man guys.
And everyone remembers Huey Lewis and the News.
No clue what everyone else is talking about, but that was a pretty cool video. I had never seen it before, despite listening to the song hundreds of times.
@Cornelius: How do you see what time was logged for each transaction on the MS accounts page? I wasn't expecting there would be a problem w/ this whole punchcard thing as I'm usually understanding and thorough when it comes to events like this. My concern would be that I purchased Plants v. Zombies "4/29" and Peggle immediately after on "4/30" to finish off at exactly 3200pts.
First, I'm not bragging from this, but "XBLRewards5" has corrected her understanding of the cutoff time, as shown in this post ... http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_rewards_support/f/29/p/866572/2865904.aspx#2865904 ... and Xbox Rewards is handing out 1 extra day of purchase window as a goodwill gesture for those feeling slighted. I do feel very sorry for her, though, because of all the idiots posting in the forums today, so it's obvious her job can be more difficult than we might think. :applause:

As for the purchase "time", it might actually be easier than you think ... because if I recall, the dates on https://billing.microsoft.com are shown as UTC/GMT dates already, without any time-zone adjustment. On the flip-side, they could also be time/date-stamped for Xbox's HQ in "Redmond, WA, USA", in which case you'll never quite know, since it's going to be 7-8 hours behind UTC/GMT.
Same thing happened to me with DeathSpank the Baconing. I passed on its sale because Io didn't own the first two and it hit sale first. Now I own the first two and refuse toay full price for the third. Lmao.

You're not missing much. I enjoyed and finished the first 2, but I could not and still haven't finished The Baconing. It's just...not as good.

That seems to be the primary consensus about The Baconing, but the collector in me wants it for completion's sake regardless.

I work in the gaming industry so it's ok for me to embrace this silliness.

Finally downloaded The Simpsons. It's fun but not the same as the arcade. Why? Because part of the fun is button mashing with those giant buttons on the arcade machine (especially the bonus levels). A handheld controller doesn't have the same feel so it's not as fun. The experience is still enjoyable though.

X-Men is more repetitive. Nostalgia and multiplayer are all that's going for it.

I remember when Symphony of the Night use to be $20 and finding a copy was rare. Now I can have it for $5? Sold. Even with the combined purchase of the PS3 version, I'm paying less than $20 to own it.

Pickup a cheap fightstick, like the WWE Brawlstick, problem solved.

In regards to SOTN, you clearly were a first-run adopter, since once it was OOP there was a large draught between its release on the PS1 & its rerelease where it to sold for upwards of $85, which was when I stupidly decided to finally show interest in it. (Admittably though, I did manage to win an auction where the seller spelled something wrong--back when ebay listings were more prone to such things--so it had no views or other bidders and I managed to only pay $35 for it... because I'm slick like that, lol.)

I thought about scott pilgrim again, Downloaded the demo again, played for about 20 minutes and decided I just wasnt having fun.

It's frustrating that a movie I enjoyed so much has a game that I just can't get into.

I don't understand the love for it or battleblock theatre.

I too couldn't get into the Scott Pilgrim game but BattleBlock Theater hooked me like a possessed evil top hat atop my gaming head. That and including that with my Rewards to get 800 points back didn't hurt.

I haven't played BBT, so I can't speak about it, but like you, I don't undestand the love Scott Pilgrim has, it's an ok game to me, nothing more. The game's music is pretty good though.

Loved Pilgrim, but I don't get the love for Battleblock Theater either. It's funny, yes, but the gameplay, while not BAD, doesn't feel as fun as Castle Crashers did.

I'm 100% with you on Scott Pilgrim. I bought it way back when it was on sale the first time and could not get into it at all. I loaded it up last night to give it the 'ol college try and discovered my opinion hasn't changed. The gameplay is just tedious and unfun. I found Phantom Breaker Battlegrounds was far more enjoyable.

BattleBlock Theater however is a masterpiece in both presentation and gameplay. You really should try the game in co-op (I prefer local), it skyrockets the enjoyment and really showcases the minsdet of the game. Working with a partner to nail that perfect run is so addicting. It has far more depth and replayability than Castle Crashers, which I loved but after saving the princess for the 100th time it wears a bit thin.

Baconing isn't any worse IMO. Exactly the same, just like the first two. definitely felt a bit like enough is enough by the time I played all 3 back to back but I wouldn't put any of them as better or worse games than the others.

I got the first two as well during the sale and just had to buy the third one after playing them.

I agree 110%.

Not to make this thread veer off-course, but I am making a quick public service announcement.
For those who care, the GoD version of Angry Birds Trilogy is 600 MSP on the Hungarian marketplace and is region free. I would not have known if someone had not alerted me to that fact, so I am simply informing others in the same boat as myself. No need to say anything more about it or some people will flip their lid.
We now return you to your regular scheduled banter.....

No matter how many times I try, I just can't get into Angry Birds. I've downloaded them all for free on android, but they just aren't any fun for me. Really don't get why they are so popular:whistle2:k

Did you play enough to upgrade your stats and unlock moves? I'd found that the controls when you start are pretty sluggish, but once you start to unlock additional moves and upgrade your stats for speed, it felt much more natural.

Yeah same here. However, it's a good gaming option for little ones. Simple playing mechanics and silly splat noises are always popular with that crowd. :)

No specifics, but past rewards were small things like avatar clothing or a small amount of points like 100 points.

Just as with the weekly sales, once it's known, it will be posted and discussed, so there's little need to ask if anyone knows. And it will be posted in the relevant thread when the XBL site updates with information.
Penny Arcade's on the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 XBLIG should be on sale for 240 msp later today.

The price change has been submitted but it apparently takes time. I believe XBLIG prices can only be changed once every 7 days, so I expect this sale will last at least a week.
Thank you, I've had this game "pinned" for some time in hopes there'd be a sale one day. :applause:

I think Angry Birds is a good game for touch control devices. BattleBlock Theater, I just love the style so much and I haven't even touched the co-op or the level editor. I agree I played Castle Crashers a lot and it got old even though I enjoyed the gameplay. That boils down to the game's longevity with an online community, sharing their creations, like what Trials Evo did.

I like Scott Pilgrim the game - it's not fantastic but it's got a sense of charm, plus it's set in Toronto, where I lived for like 7 years so it's cool to beat sprites up in places where I've actually been. It's not often you get to play a game set in a real place that isn't LA or NYC. So it's cool to see places like Casa Loma and other neighbourhoods. But I hated hated hated the movie. The comic book is great but I don't get why people liked the movie at all. I think for a side scrolling beat-em-up, it's novel in that it's not just about hitting one button, there's actually some skill and depth involved in the combat. I just wish that the online co-op mode was way cheaper as I'd love to play it with others.

And yeah. I can't get into Angry Birds either. I have no clue why that became such a huge mobile hit. Give me PvZ any day, but Angry Birds I just can't do. It just seems like a really cheap flash game that bores me to death. It's one of those games that's just about killing time. And it's weird, because I'm usually a completionist and often have a need to '3 star' other games but I never do with Angry Birds for some reason. Plus I think it'd be lame to play it on a tv. I haven't tried it but it just sounds lame. I'd rather just load up The Wreckateer or something.

On a positive note I just won 1000pts through some Danactive contest so Star Wars Pinball here I come.

The man speaks the truth about BattleBlock Theater. I've played the game pretty much only in coop, and it really makes the game more enjoyable.. I've had a blast playing this and the arena modes are actually very fun as well and you can play against AI bots, while you team up with a partner. I also really enjoyed Castle Crashers, and had quite a few max level characters, but this game just seems to be something that won't get as repetitive. I'm also a major sucker for platformers.

That said, I also really enjoyed Scott Pilgrim, but again I normally only played it in local coop, and River City Ransom is one of my favorite games ever. Its definitely not as enjoyable playing it solo..
