Through the console, after first selecting to download a GoD you are greeted by a familiar gray confirmation screen that pops up displaying the size of the download as well as confirming the price. At the bottom of this gray pop-up is the instruction to press the "X button" in order to change the payment type to MSP. Pictured below with an arrow:

Saw this on facebook

Call of Duty: Black Ops
Mason, Reznov, Dragovich... Starting tomorrow on Xbox Live, go back to where it all began with 40% off the original Black Ops and 50% off its four epic DLC packs
Hopefully there's a COD sale themed sale (not the actual dotw) with MW3 dlc also included.

As for people asking about Catherine, the game is amazing. The story alone is worth $15. I've never played a puzzle game before, but I was able to beat the game. Sure it can be challenging at times, but it's a great game. Def. get it before the sale ends if you want a digital version (it's also $15 preowned at Best Buy).

Exciting times are coming tomorrow, new discounts ahoy. I've lit some scented candles, lined the path from my 360 to my wallet with flower petals, and I'm already giving the 360 the "blue steel" come hither looks to seduce bargains out of Xbox Marketplace. I'll play that Strawberry Letter 23 song to set the mood, to goad the discounts out on The Cave, Death Tank, Pinball Arcade, Poker Night 2, Monaco, or the DLC we've been waiting for out of the marketplace. Either that or I will shoot it in the trunk of a car to the song ...

I guess most of the completionists and achievement hunters here can revel in the delight of the rollout of the new 0G achievements. Like the Dead or Alive 4 achievements for losing so many matches in a row, or the Xbox Live Labs achievements, but now I read they also reward you across games with maps, characters, and stat boosts. Now that coupled with the 2% MyAchievements rebate on purchases you get more back. I go through my backlog slowly and I rarely ever complete any games, so unfortunately this new rewards program doesn't involve me.

I have literally thoguht about how to wait as long as I can to buy Rocksmith DLC once they start switching to dollars so that I can ride my $300 out over the next year and a half. It'll take me at least that long to spend through it - and that's planning on buying COD:Ghosts through GoD and the season pass when it comes out instead of a physical copy...
Ah you kids and your plastic instruments. I envy you because I am awful at rhythm games. If only I had devil robot hands, maybe I would be able to play those games. I was talked out of buying RockBand Blitz, when it was on discount, by a friend which reminded me that I would never be able to settle for just a few songs and I already struggle with hard drive space on my 360, with all the amazing artists and songs DLC available for purchase. I can see how a buildup of points could easily be wiped out instantly. Don't hold onto the large balance for too much longer since it may be possible when the Microsoft Point switchover to your local monetary denominations that the digital content are subject to your local municipality's taxes. I know most don't like paying extra. (Also, I apologize if the songs on the links are not to your favor, I have what a certain fake game designer would call "robot ears" so they appeal to me ^^)

you don't wait for online multiplayer games to go on sale. it might depreciate in price eventually, but it will also extremely depreciate in how easy it is to find a good game. down for D&D day 1. especially since i think there's a level up system, so if you buy it late you're prob gonna end up playing with high leveled people and have a weird time.
I am so glad many others are as hyped about this Wednesday's XBLA game as I. There is no level-up system in those games, they are just brawlers. You have a radial menu to choose items/spells in real-time during combat, you can shop for items between stages with the money you picked up (or your party gives you), your name determines a potential starting item/equipment (which is an item acquirable through the course of a game), but there is no carry-over of your level from playthroughs. In fact, I think the "level-up" between stages are just arbitrary (gives a feel of a D&D game) and have no bearing on character stats, the only things I know that would affect stats are equipped items. So there is no worry, Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara is just a collection of two old Capcom arcade brawlers that I love (I still hope for more like Aliens Vs. Predator, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, and Powered Gear). The only skillset you may need is to perform some fighting game-like motions, such as down-up-attack or quarter-circle towards-item. As for issues with experienced players, they may have their preferred paths at forks in the story (but it is voted on, more players towards one choice means a higher probability it will be the one chosen).

I noticed that when there aren't more players available on Guardians of Middle earth, you play against bots. That great!! Also, I suck at this game @_@ hope to learn fast how to... die less :D
That sounds great to me. However, despite all the praise Guardians of Middle Earth has garnered on this thread, I'm still leaning away from committing to a purchase because it seems to be a game intended for multiplayer online play. I still have not gotten to Battlefield 1943, Monday Night Combat, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Happy Wars, nor Doritos Crash Course 2 and that would add to the backlog of relatively online-only XBLA titles I have to get to fast before my opportunity runs out. If the sales coming up offers me nothing and Guardians of Middle Earth is still at its discount price, I may still buy it just to have a console MOBA (which is something I've not experienced yet). You eased some of my concerns that it is still playable with bots, unlike Battlefield 1943 when I do get to the game in the future.

How is Catherine? Is the demo a good representation of most of the game? I have always had this on my radar, and 15$ seems like a great price.
basically, if the puzzle formula it uses clicks with you, youll love it, if not, youll probably hate it. Seen very little middle ground on opinions for this game. I liked the art and heard good things so I rented it and mannn I did not like it. I wish it had a different kind of gameplay to match the art and story, but its pretty much all moving up blocks. I was disappoint.
I actually liked what I played of Catherine. I know there is a demo of the game available on the marketplace and it pretty much gives a decent sample of what the full game is like (puzzle climbing, occasional JRPG-like town conversations, back to more puzzles). The puzzles did get pretty difficult for me but I am taking my time with the game, playing a stage every now and then. I do know the pacing of the story elements can be slow, and the controls may not be intuitive at times. As always, my oddball tastes in games approves of Catherine so I know the majority may think otherwise.

I know tylerh-sama didn't notice me yesterday when I mentioned Fireburst, Storm, and Thunder Wolves T_T. That's why I have to get the discount info harder than everyone else. Don't forget, this Wednesday we all play one of my favorite Kinect titles: Dragon's Lair. If all we get are just Call of Duty discounts for the week, I may have to lure the Xbox with some chicken & waffles into the trunk.

so since State of Decay just passed the 550,000 sold mark, they confirmed State of Decay is coming to Steam...but no release date yet. They also announced "Sandbox" mode for both versions, but no details on that yet aside from saying its "designed to be a pure survival simulation".

Fireburst does a decent job of aping MotorStorm Pacific Rift's look and mechanics, the big knock that I have besides an overall lack of polish on the controls and look of the game is that you can't boost explode over the finish line like you can in MotorStorm.

So checked out the demos for the 3 games I was interested in.  3 or so minutes with Kung Fu High Impact was enough to tell me that, as a single adult male, the game doesn't really have much redeeming qualities for me.

I liked both Worms and Worms Revolution (already have Worms 2) but I think I'll just grab Worms 1 this time since it's only 200 MSP.

about Zombies Ate My Neighbors, i always wanted a new version in 3D, kind 3rd person, or at least an upgrade version of the first game (i didn't liked the 2nd)

Looks like a Sega GoD sale in general also CoD: Black Ops 1 DLC isn't a Gold only deal.

And the Gold exclusive DotW so far looks like...Another PopCap sale.

...

God fucking dammit. Really?

Damn, you MOFOs aren't letting this go.
It's a very bonding/hazing ritual we have here on the Deal of The Week thread that probably started long before any of us were "The Regulars" and then we pass it down through the new generation of Regulars, always posing the same rhetorical question:

Why would we not have the sales posted (or at least be talking about them) if we already knew what they entailed in advance?

...And yet, this question gets asked every two weeks while we all wait for XBLDB.com and Major Nelson to unveil their sacred treasures, passing the time razzing the next person to ask. ;)

Thanks to XBLDB, this is what we're seeing so far for deals.

Ha, the good old summer sales started again! Next time better ask for 100msp for a PopCap game, MS. That way you can make the last few people buying them.

Condemned aka "Bum Destroyer" was pretty fun & spooky. But if you have GS credit or just prefer to have it on disc, they are $4.99 each/used for either Condemned 1 or 2 in store.

Can't freaking wait for D&D to drop today. Take mah points!!

Condemned was one of the first 360 games I played and I really enjoyed it even though I get scared easily. That mannequin trap was the best!

I've been wanting to go back and play it again. I have to decide on $10 or driving to GameStop to buy a used copy for $5. How cheap am I?

Very cheap apparently. I was happy to get the Zuma's Revenge/ Bejeweled 3 disc for $10 when they'll be $12.50 on XBLA this week. What a savings! ;)

I got that disc and the Fallout NV Ultimate Edition for $10 but my account was frozen and I wasn't able to stock up on MSP like everyone else. I'm still sad about that. :(

Bum Destroyer sounds like a British porn. Anyways...I Too enjoyed Condemned. My only complaint is I hope you like the most slow moving cop in the world, because he's in this game! He can sprint, but even calling it sprinting is stretching it. More like he can fast walk and even then he can only do it for about 5 seconds before being winded. Otherwise if people like the original FEAR, just imagine that except instead of highly trained soldiers you're fighting abunch of overly agitated hobos with random melee weapons.

Loving this week's sale. I don't know if anyone mentioned it but The Cave is marked down to 600 MSP according to XBLDB.

Definitely getting it and Sonic 2.

To play against bots, instead of looking for an open game (once you've tried and found none), just host a game yourself.

This week deals are looking good. I'm debating on Sonic generations, seems the right price to me, but... 7+GB is a lot of HD required :(

LOL at plastic instruments... I play a $1300 Fender American Strat in Rocksmith... And have 6 other Fenders in cases that get rotated in and out... No plastic here - except maybe the volume knobs on the axe.

hope next weeks deals are better. May get the Cave at 600 pts but the demo confused me.

I'll have to play the trial first but I've been looking forward to this game based on the dev and trailers. Hopefully it's fun since that was the main game I was interested in this week.

Sonic Generations at $10 is a great price! I picked it up on disc during the holidays for $10 or 15 and it's fun.

Sonic Generations for 800 points is a steal, best Sonic game ever. Sega finally got the 3D right and the 2D is the best it's ever been.
400msp for anyone who has HU account (the game is Region Free). I bought it, can't say no at this price. :)
That's even better!!

If Sonic Unleashed is region free and the same price, I'm buying that. I'm also about to just buy Toe Jam and Earl since i'm tired of waiting for it to go on sale.

Could not resist at that price! I'm really getting nervous about hd space thanks to the hungarian marketplace :3

Sonic generations is great at that price.  The game is a near perfect modern sonic game.  My only real complaint with it was the final boss felt very broken. Nothing in this sale for me, I might pick up feeding frenzy 2, but i'll think about it.

Very happy that Magic will be 800 MSP, and not 1200. Also TIny Tina's dlc debut comes next week. Well just bought the rest of the missing sonic games that I wanted for a cool 1600 MSP.

I'm not much of a Sonic fan, but I LOVED Sonic Generations. Some side scrolling here, some 3-D gameplay there: It's the first Sonic game where I felt like they got it right.

I played Condemned 2 when I first bought a PS3 and enjoyed it a lot. How good is the first game in comparison?

It's funny, I played F.E.AR. and it was more fun when there were no enemy soldiers (they were basically the only enemy in the game so fighting them bored me) and you were exploring the environments with the occasional scary moments.

I might have missed it, but was there news yet as to what/when the 2nd free gold game this month would be?

I don't think there will be one, it doesn't start officially till July, Fable 3 seems to have been a one off for June.

Hmmm. Curious bunch of deals. Might grab The Cave and Renegade Ops (I remember hearing amazing things about the latter). I'm tempted by the KS2 basketball add-on but I hardly use my Kinect as it is and just bought all the Dance Central games for a few bucks at a recent sale, so that'll keep me busy for a bit (damned backlog, just when I started chipping away at you too . . . )

What's the story with Spartacus Legends and being a free game? Is this a genuine freebie due to it being a tie-in with a tv show or is this the sort of thing where the main game is free but locked to just playing one character until I buy the damned DLC. In any case I'm curious though not much into fighting games, but free is just the right price point.

I know there was some talk about Space Channel 5: Part 2 a few weeks back when it dropped down to 400msp. Well at 160msp I think it's a must purchase. I'd grab a lot of the Sonic genesis games but I have the Sonic Collection that contains all of them. And I can definitely recommend Generations. I can't warn people about Sonic Free Riders enough - terrible game. Not sure what the sale will be but stay away. I bought it for $4 new from Kmart and I paid way too much for it. Check out the Angry Joe Show review for more info - awful game.

Hoping more Sega sales go live in the next few hours and will hold off until then and see where the chips lie. I have pretty much everything worth owning from next weeks sale with the exception of Bloodforge, which I hear is okay now that it's been patched.

EDIT: So I googled Spartacus Legends and yeah it's a free-to-play game on XBLA and PSN. Here's a trailer for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTBwK5CZfmo

It has some neat ideas. You build a stable of fighters whose skills you build up over time but there is sort of a rogue-like permadeath feature where when you lose a battle you lose that fighter but keep their equipment. I only wish it looked better. The graphics look PS2 to be honest and bad PS2. The fighters have no texture on them. And it looks like a Deadly Warriors clone. Never played that game but I heard mixed things. Curious if it has much of a single-player campaign or if it's mostly online PvP. To be honest it looks a bit like shovelware to me, but Ubisoft has been publishing some brilliant XBLA games of late so who knows. The fact I haven't heard anything about this free-to-play game as of yet makes me think it's kind of shite as they usually promote free games a lot more.

I played Condemned 2 when I first bought a PS3 and enjoyed it a lot. How good is the first game in comparison?

Definitely worth playing if you enjoyed the 2nd. The melee combat is a bit more polished in 2, but I preferred the story of the first more. Loved the atmosphere of both games and how the AI would seemingly jump out of nowhere to attack you when you least expected it.

Though as others have mentioned, if your local gamestop has a copy you can get the disc version for 4.99 used. So that is also worth considering..
