Lol it happened for me too...my Xbox live gold membership expiry date is stuck(not changing)... the gold membership which I activate expires on the right time but it doesn't show up on the screen when it's gonna expire...

From what I've seen most people end up having to resort to a lot of shit but cheap games that they probably wouldn't play otherwise. If you have a giant backlog like most of us that can alleviate it some, but a lot of games don't have a good ratio of time required to get the majority of achievements and that hurts it. The other option is to buy virtually everything that comes out and stay up to date, but I assume that's a minority of achievement hunters.

I've never bought anything purely for Gamerscore so far so breaking 100,000 took me quite a while. The only truly bad games I played for points were free and didn't take long, like Ben Hur.

I'd say ask Jess Stryker for advice, she has the highest Gamerscore of the thread regulars by a pretty large margin.

That lasted just over a week. Glad we got the heads up so we could buy Stuntman before Gamestop jacked up the price. I expect ekim to rise from the ashes again. Once more before the end of the year

Yooka-Laylee went Gold the other day. Hyped for its release April 11th. Day One full price purchase. Those devs(so many old school Rare peeps) deserve every penny. YL looks so amazing!!

Ha. I'm almost halfway through a very long vacation period and don't make enough money to actually vacation the entire time so I've been bumming it up big time. I'll most likely never be able to get 10k in a month again. Got a couple trips (Colorado & Michigan) in February so I was just making up extra score to cover February.

Fun fact: Dec 2016 shows a guy on my leaderboard with over 29k. Not sure how that's possible in a month but it's there.

Does anyone remember the REQ point cost of the past special REQ packs? I really want the CQB helmet coming this month. I think I remember 100,000 for one of them.

I'm currently scrapping everything I don't need to hope I get close. I really wish you could scrap all duplicates at once like Gears 4. You have to manually scrap each one, which seems like it's designed to keep you from trashing hundreds of things at once.

Some interesting stuff with XBL Rewards.  The survey was all about MyVIP, what you like, what you don't, what would you like to see changed.  Some of the options were lowering the spending thresholds, allowing preorders to count as well as purchases made outside the Xbox / Microsoft store environments.  Would be nice if some of those responses actually lead to some changes, but I'm not holding my breath.

There's also a mission this month to bump your Star Rank 1 level by spending $125 on qualifying content.  Hope there are some good sales this month to consider making a run at a 4th star.

 
The NHL and FIFA games / bundles that had their EA Access discounts counting down to later in the week are now counting down to 7pm Eastern tonight.  Battlefield 1's EA Access discount says 23 days remaining, which would put it at Friday the 24th.  Not sure if that may adjust like the NHL / FIFA games and be a date night sale later this month, or if it may get a free play weekend with corresponding discount.

What'd you think of TftB? It's my favorite Telltale game and I've loved all of them so far. And South Park: The Stick of Truth, too? That's a good month.

I really liked TftB. Definitely one of my favourite Telltale Games. It had the good story telling of a TT game along with the crazy world of Pandora. South Park had me laughing the whole time. One of the funniest games I've ever played. The writing fits into the South Park archetype and I was happy that it wasn't censored.

It was a good month because lecture's hadn't started yet. Now, I'm in the middle of my first round of midterms so I don't think I'll be finishing more games anytime soon.

Thanks for the info! I went and took the survey, which I often forget to do. Also of note: my spending amount to increase a star rank is $100 during February, so it must be based on what star level you're at (I'd be getting my 3rd star, which would explain the lower amount).

Here's hoping for good sales. I wish preorders counted, because then I could easily reach the amount.

I was curious how that worked. I don't remember how close I was to the 4th star by the end of the year, but I wasn't going to spend that much just for the extra 2%. Wouldn't have worked in my favor. My Rewards page says :

Don't feel bad. I only beat Crypt of the Serpent King and RE7, both games I paid for in full price. My backlog on X1/360 games still sits at 30+. Some games I took off backlog because i don't give a rats butt about them anymore.

 
Decided to load up FH2 Fast and Furious on a whim. That game is an achievement whores wet dream. Achievements are popping like lightbulbs on a christmas tree. Here's an achievment for sneezing. Oh you blinked? Hjere's another achievement for you lmao! I wonder what other games have these kinds of easy achievements. The game i lot of fun though. So much so that now I'm actually contemplating picking up FH2 on sale to add to the collection. Only played the first Forza on the OG xbox and it was not really my cup of tea back then. I'm more of a Need For Speed kind of guy.

Would like to pick up The Crew on sale and thinking about getting an EA Access membership for the NFS games along with everything else they have in the vault.

I'm just gonna be honest. I've been gold since XBL was in beta. I have no fucking idea what the star ranks are or how to earn them or anything else about that program. I'm at 2 stars and 4% towards the 3 star, apparently.

Right now, the spending thresholds are $300 per star, and the money spent reset at the start of the year. So from Sep 1, 2015 through Dec 31, 2016, you spent between $600 and $900, and have spent $36 since the start of the year toward the $900 needed for the 3rd star.

 
Went to the xbox rewards and it said i need to spend 100 pre tax in month of Feb to reach 3 star rank.Hopefully some good sales come up so that i may reach star rank 3.

yeah backlog groups are pretty helpful, and each forum has a different system too. GAF has a backlog blitz where everytime you complete a game, you add +1 to your score....and everytime you buy a game this year, you subtract 1 from your score.

Last year there was a few people that had -70 or worse lol

Think we did that in the renegade PSN thread the year I was doing four a month. Certainly kept me focused and motivated but also led me to play a lot of crap that was shorter to hit my goals.

I love the idea of backlog groups but with work/family it's nigh impossible to play with any regularity.  My wife will very rarely let me play for more than 10 minutes without asking me to do something or stand around and talk to her while she's doing something.  Also, I have alot of AAA titles in my backlog but there's no way I can play them around my kids - seems like most games nowadays aren't kid-viewer friendly because of the language.  I'd kill for a censor option in games that bleeps cursing and/or *'s subtitles.  Something that could be turned off when I'm on my own.  

Violence I'm not too worried about because I make sure my kids know the difference between media and real-life.  Heck, my parents bought and watched us play the original MK on Genesis and I've yet to rip a person's spine out IRL.
