Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Demos aren't BC too right?  I would totally just download or just put it in the queue every 360 demo so if it became BC and they delisted it, at least I have the demo to play.   O:)

Many 360 BC games have been re-printed with the "Plays on Xbox One" label. While I'm sure it wasn'the first overall, Doom 3 BFG was definitely one of the first ones.

When I bought the Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition in October of last year, it also came with the label.

How I regret not buying AC Rogue digitally last time. Now every time it goes on "sale", it will always be $14,99
Yeah, Bethesda may have been the first company to do that. They even have rereleased BC Xbox 360 games in Xbox One cases with the "Plays on Xbox One" label. I know I've seen at least two games done that way.

So as much as I love Forza Horizon 3 I suck so much at drifting. I spent over an hour getting a bucket list drifting challenge.
Seems like I've seen you say you love FH3 even though you're not a racing game fan. That's awesome. Drifting is definitely a whole new beast. I have friends that are experts, but I just can't get to that level and a lot of tunes seem to be better suited for experts, however, it's worth trying out tunes marked drag to find a setup that may help you. I usually find some and it's free since they switched to the share system. Spybreak's pointers below are very good. I do find a lot of muscle cars are a little too heavy and not as nimble as I like, but that's personal preference. Just as long as it's RWD and overpowered enough to start spinning the wheels out in a corner and keep them spinning it will do. Keep in mind it's all about the right amount of speed and the best angles to get the most out of each turn. From what I understand there's less traffic if you go online which helps. I learned a lot of drifting in Dirt 3. The playground area is a great place to learn and the in game challenges help. It definitely takes practice to nail down.

Muscle car, handbrake, and rain is a bonus. Throttle that gas and brake too. Get that rear end around and countersteer that baby around the corner.

I just started AC: China, getting a Shadow Complex vibe so far. Also I decided to hook up my Xbox to a WiFi hotspot from my Google Pixel and that, Trials Fusion, Gems of War, Pinball FX 2 and Forza 6 are letting me enjoy leaderboards/Uplay rewards/achievements popping again. Got a few rare achievements for Pinball FX 2 & FM6 tonight. Don't know how long this will last, I also was able to grab the update for Stardew Valley. I still have big retail games in my queue. I'm content atm.
I just started playing Gems of War and I really like it's take on the old gem matching games. I've put a lot of time in that this past week.

I still can't get the ubisoft site to work to get a beta invite for ghost recon. Real bummer because I was really looking forward to it.
While the Wildlands beta itself is really good - the beta website/portal is not. Without explanation yesterday, Ubi removed the "invite friends" tab.

Isn't that like $30 normally? I'll take it. Never got into Smite much but willing to give it another try with all the Gods unlocked.
Yeah, I bought it on PC when it was on sale to sync with the Xbox on launch.

Not sure if it's an error(probably), so they might revoked.

Never played Smite and have no real knowledge of MOBAs. How does it rate? Most of what I know about League of Legends is that if you don't play the way you're "supposed" to you get flamed and people take it super seriously.

I've never played smite aside from like two minutes of the tutorial, but it's nice to own all the characters in case I ever decide to play. Thanks for posting that

Search Guilds for VIKINGS 24H, it's the Guild I'm in atm.

Prob Smite to be the next GwG huh. Eh I grabbed the unlock pack anyways just in case.

Nah, it's not like that at all. Maybe because it's a F2P game, idk, but you can play however you want. I am super casual -- I only play a few characters and I don't bother buying perks (?) at level up, letting the game autobuy for me -- and I have never gotten any messages commenting on how I play. That said, there are some people who are super good at it and know how to optimize their builds.

So I ran into an issue. I am hoping someone is more helpful than the rep I spoke with over the phone. I have now five games that will not install. It keeps saying installation failed, and doesn't even get past 0%. Going through a few different methods to get it to work-the rep finally said I needed to delete all of my games😲 and saved games. Needless to say that is asanine.

Some games download, but it seems random. For example-- Lost Odyssey and the new love whatever game won't install for example.

Anyone run into this issue? If so-resolve it?

Huge thank you if anyone else has an idea.

Oh-and the sale sorta sucks. ;)

Did you try a hard reset. Hold down the power button till it turns off.

thanks Mr. Hockey- I did. A few times. Tried unplugging for a bit, went to the games management page. None of it works. What is even more bizarre-the killer instinct we just received for GWG downloaded, but there was an expansion of some sort, and it won't install?!?

I have so many hours put into these game saves, the cloud doesn't back up all x1 games? I suppose I can try and move every save to an external HD, and factory reset?

Thanks! I wonder if these are glitches. Usually when I use a browser to grab something free from the marketplace (including the free GwGs), it always asks me to verify my account by sending me a code. The Smite free gods and this free Ep2 didn't ask for verification at all. Either they updated their website to not require verification for grabbing free stuff (which should be how the site ideally works), or the website/server recognizes these as something different, thus not requiring verification.

Thoughts on the Wildlands beta:

I put about 12 hours into the beta, collected every collectible, including all the files, and did all 6 missions. I really enjoyed this. I played a combination of solo with the the 3 AI teammates and then with 1 friend with no teammates. At first I was upset at having no AI teammates when playing online, but I realized that my teammates weren't really doing much to begin with since I played stealth through the entire thing. When you have another player you can split up and have one person attack from the south and one from the north. That way if one of you gets spotted, or more than likely happens to miss a sniper shot, they all face one direction allowing the other player to snipe away at their backs. The driving was a little squirrelly, but in the rain, on unpaved roads, seemed pretty standard for arcade racing style. The helicopter flying on the other hand could use some serious work, but isn't bad enough to break the experience. I really like the radio. Hearing interviews with the various cartel members was pretty cool. The one thing I didn't like was there is no option for subtitles. I hope that is only in the beta. I think if the game drops you in and gives you a complete playground, letting you decide how to go about dismantling the cartel in what ever order you want, it may end up being my favorite game in a long time. The amount of freedom you get when approaching the missions is excellent. My friend likes to go loud with shotguns, so I find some high ground and let him loose. I can keep him covered and they have no reason to look for me. I am hoping the season pass introduces new locales, maybe a snowy Russia, a desert in Africa, and a rainforest in Southeast Asia.

That idea is so dumb, stupid and a waste of everyone's time and energy (even mine just responding to it) that you should rethink your life. As in literally go outside and think about what you're doing with it.

Smite is great.  I'm playing Warframe more still, but I jump on Smite every now and then.  That said I feel too guilty to basically get the vast majority of the paid DLC in a F2P for free when it is really good and deserves support.  No way it doesn't get revoked anyway.  F2P needs purchases to survive and if everybody gets all current and future gods for free how will they get the bulk of their income. Unless they are somehow changing the purchase model, but I think there would be an announcement.  Between this and an episode two of a telltale game going free, I think they are glitches.

I fucked around and bought the 49KS8000 today for $650+tx (Best Buy open box). Sticker said it had severe scratches. Employee and I took it out of box and it was immaculate. We couldnt find a scratch anywhere, front or back. Only had fingerprint smudges on the corners. I know Sunrisecityrider said you could haggle with the manager to bring the price down on open box items, but I didnt want to press my luck in case they wanted to say it was a price mistake and its supposed to be $800+ like it says on website for open box 49KS8000. I might never leave the house again.

Weird. Not for me. This is what I see:

Lol. Nah don't over think it. Since you could buy 360 games on the One without a 360, why not make the demo available too to try before you buy. A hand full of BC games have demos but only on 360. Don't over think it as in you don't need to go outside and think about what you're doing with it.

As someone who used to inspect returns at BB and do all the checks, fill out the required online forms and put it back into retail circulation, scratches is almost always the default used. Congrats on your purchase though.

Game demos have proven to not help with sales and if anything take away from sales. Add this to games that really by this point of their lifespan make little to no extra amount to the developers/publishers, why bother with putting extra time and effort into a game demo? Plus really the nerds who actually take full advantage of backwards compatibility are buying anything regardless with it being either BC or with the hope of it becoming BC. Case in point, people are buying Dark on this thread. Dark. A game that many hailed as one of the worst games that year. If that demo was available on XBox One maybe they'd realize "Hey this game is a pile of butts sprinkled with nutsack shavings", but since it isn't and it's cheap, why not?

/thinking

hmm that telltale link posted has "Disc" in the title and web address while if you search episode 2 on xbox.com, it's $4.99 and has no "Disc" in title or web address. I wonder if they're such links for episodes 3-5? :whistle2:k

Do you have a source that proves that demos have proven to not help with sales? Actually for me many demos and trials push me in getting the game. And do you really know how much time and effort it really takes to make a demo available? This isn't really traditional BC too. Stranger things have occurred like someone posted how you could download Xbox One GwG from your 360 and when your sub expires you could still play the Xbox One GwG. Another is that you could get the free Telltale first episode and when you insert the disc it unlocks the entire series. So who really knows how all this works but demos are always nice for the consumer.

I Honestly can't give a good response to Telltale though. Since I don't understand them and I don't understand how a season pass doesn't include all episodes, but that's Telltale.

No worries. Thanks for the link about the research, I also found this. It does say " One potential problem with interpreting the EEDAR data in this way, however, is that it is difficult to determine whether there is a correlation between some of the industry's best-selling titles--such as Call of Duty, BioShock Infinite, or Tomb Raider--generally opting not to release a demo at launch. That's such a good TV, you'll love it.

Because there's enough multi million dollar marketing to push those games forward? Plus games like Call of Duty tend to have a demo weeks after launch so there was no real effect on sales, while games like Tomb Raider (with the recent revamp) didn't make financially acceptable numbers until over a year later. Meanwhile Bioshock Infinite, we still don't know what best selling means for that game since we don't know production costs and all the backstage drama.

My invite friend is between how to and bug report. Not sure if the 3 I invited received their invite though
Ok I just now found my Beta code for wild lands. You click on that link you posted, then login to U-play, then go to Manage Your Account with the purple background, then login again, and the Beta tab is in the top left of the Dashboard.

And congrats on that TV. I believe that has the "true" HDR that was mentioned.

Of course, as a gamer I like demos to know whether I want something, but understand why they aren't done from a developer point of view. That said, if a demo for a backward compatible game exists, would make sense to make it work as well. Doubt it would take much to do if the main game has already BC.

The Smite pack seems like an error. The cheapest it's ever been is $15. Hopefully we get to keep it, or at least get some credit out of it.

I don't know about demos persey, but a lot of the "free trial" games on xbox one have convinced me to make the purchase.  Also some of the GwG (especially Telltale) caused me to purchased DLC or other games in the series.

I am still surprised at the lack of mandatory demos on xbox one, it was an amazing feature on 360.

I'm sure this has been discussed but does anyone know why xbox credit cant be used to purchase ea access? since the deals are never good I was just pay full price since I have credit but of course it doesnt allow that

Is Overwatch acting up for anyone else? Been "finding game" for a few minutes now, had to make sure I didnt put in the Battleborn disc lulz

Booted up Smite and it definitely works. I might play it a bit more now that I'll have everything, and it's nice to be able to use my currency for skins instead of worrying about who to unlock. I don't really like the regular MOBA mode, so if you don't think you would either I'd recommend trying out Arena instead.
