Has anyone been playing MvC3 yet, is it just get rekt with 80% damage air combos already?

I'm kind of hesitant since I only really played the original with a fightstick and don't have the money to get one for Xbone yet.

 
Is UMVC3 newbie friendly? I'm one who's dabbled a bit in fighting games with Mortal Kombat and more recent iterations of Soul Calibur, but am not great at them and play them offline because, well, I suck.

Basically play them occasionally for a change of pace. Is there a decent single player component? Is getting combos difficult for someone not big on fighters?

its pretty complex. All kinds of parries and cancels and snapbacks and air cancels and yadda yadda.....I'd say its easy to play, difficult to master and be good at.

I haven't played it on consoles, but it was very friendly as an arcade game

And yes, that's officially the most first world of all problems, aside from rich kids bitching about Fyre Festival, at least.

No, probably won't happen because of HD port and I'd guess the new licensing still didn't cover the 360 version. The only improvement on any level is that it runs in 1080p instead of the 720p of last gen. It does include the costume DLC (minus the controversial to Spain(?) Magneto outfit), and includes the DLC characters Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath, though you already had them on 360 if you had the collector's edition.

Netcode is supposedly identical to 360, though probably feels better thanks to a presumably more alive online player base meaning you're more likely to have connections in your region.

Nope, never had any desire for travel. Did the usual family vacations summers as a kid and always hated it. Seaside Heights, Atlantic City, NYC, Dorney Park, Hershey Park...etc.

Not sure what season the episode was from, just kinda remember some lady getting hit by a car.
 
Most sandwich chains are great on good days and trash on bad days. Last time I went to Firehouse it was terrible, stale bread, sloppy fillings, but I know that they can be delicious, just like Jimmy Johns.

I'm torn now between Teslagrad or Axiom Verge. I can only take one Metroidvania at a time. And should a casual fighter player even bother with UMvC3 when Killer Instinct is F2P with 2 character seasons already released with GwG?

Up the Northeast Extension from where I grew up, a little north of the Lehigh Valley. Been years since I've been to Dorney, don't think I've been there since I worked there one summer during college. Been to Hershey more recently.

Yes and no. They simplified the basic controls a little bit compared to MvC2. Light, Medium, Heavy, and a dedicated launcher rather than every character having their own launcher you had to figure out in 2. Aside from that the 3 character selection can be kind of intimidating until you start figuring out how to get some synergy from your chosen team, and long air-combos are pretty important for higher level play. That said, if you're playing with people of your own skill level you'll still have fun, having so many characters means a lot of variety if you want it.

If you've never played a Capcom style fighter it's going to be a bit of an adjustment from the other games you mentioned. Block isn't a button press like MK or Soul Calibur, and special inputs are mostly about circle motions rather than the directional input of 3D fighters or odd directional inputs many MK characters have.

Single player selection sucks like most Capcom fighters. Fairly barebones arcade mode with a decent boss fight at the end, and a few gimmick modes aside from training.

Man am I glad I jumped on Transformers: Devastation for 360 this last week at uh, 67% off I think it was?

That's the best thing that's been on sale for 360 for months.  And the game is not revolutionary stuff or anything.  But booooooooy is it a lot of fun.

If it's still up on sale.... it's well worth the $13 or whatever.

I can only go in one of my local FH subs, though. The one south of me has a couple of big pictures of my dad in there when he was Chief. Makes me too sad to eat there when I see the pictures, so I usually hit the one in town.

Lehigh Valley guy here too. Technically I'm from the other side of the river but I grew up playing in the east penn league. I took my kid to Dorney when he was about 6 (a few years ago). It was the first time I had been there in ages. Holy Crap that place has changed.
