I just got to the Ubisoft Conference video now, basically watched bits and pieces of it and yeah I'm really impressed with what Ubisoft is bringing to the table. That Assassin's Creed: Origins looks gorgeous, they should have always taken a year off between AC games! Lol, still pretty funny that the A.I. STILL doesn't see you when you're like super close or they don't move their heads at all.

Was super surprised that Forza Motorsport 7 isn't a XB1X "launch title" like Crackdown 3 & Super Lucky's Tale. I'm thinking they're going to be like here it is, everyone goes oh this is pretty sweet and then the 4K HDR Volumetric Lighting/Shadows update happens when Xbox One X launches and our faces go:

My Facebook feed is full of "Once again, Sony are the E3 kings!" posts. I need new friends. Sony fanboys might actually be worse than the PC Master Race. Microsoft's showing wasn't fantastic, but Sony's was embarrassing. I'm shocked there wasn't some sort of major announcement of any kind. It was just a bunch of sequels we knew were coming, and a zombie game.

Yeah, shit Sony fanboys were already saying they won E3 on all the IGN comments I read on my Facebook feed. At one point I was like, why am I even here. Greatness Awaits right.

Phil touched on this on Podcast Unlocked and he basically said big exclusive triple A games take time right.

Unfortunately this is gonna be true for 4K gaming as well. All those 4K assets are going to take a while and most likely it's gonna be open world and full of content to run around and explore. Plus these large, large gaming worlds are gonna generate so many bugs that need to be Q&A-ed.

 
Backwards compatibility is the name of the game for me. I've been so tempted to move to PC lately because I just want to have all my major games from previous generations on one platform. Sony don't play that. With 360 BC on XB1, and now OG BC coming, XB1 will be as close as I'll ever get to having an all-in-one console featuring all my favorite games from previous generations. Hell, I can even load up Nesbox in Edge (blech) and play NES, Genesis, and SNES games.

I don't have a 4k TV and don't plan on getting one, but I like the idea of having overall general enhancements and FPS improvements in existing games that I own. So if this new system is going to add value to games I own already, and I future-proof myself a bit in the process, I'm totally down to trade in my 1S towards a 1X.

I WISH this was the type of stuff I had to scroll past on my Facebook feed. I would welcome some video game discussions on there.

In my opinion, out of the 2 "big" conferences from Sony and Microsoft, I have to give it to Microsoft I think. I was super stoked for the Sony conference because this was my first E3 having a PS4 (or a current gen console in general) and it was basically a rehash of last year's games with no release dates, still. Microsoft showed off a new console and some new games. Sony showed pretty much the same games I already know I want when they eventually get released.

All in all though, Ubisoft won my vote for best conference. Like I said in an earlier post I was most excited already about Far Cry 5 and a new Assassin's Creed game, and then that sweet looking pirate game came along.

Okay, looking for some mixer help. Yesterday I watched the Xbox conference on my one s while logged in to Xbox live. I have not received the games yet, but no big deal, it can take a week.

Tonight, I am trying to use mixer on my regular one (not the s). When I try to launch a stream, I get the blue mixer title screen and an error that I need to be logged in with my Xbox live account to launch this app (and I am logged in ). When I hit the guide button and go to home, I get the option to resume beam....

Trying a hard reset now, but everything appears up to date and when I checked my network settings, all services are available.

Any thoughts?



Edit: hard reset (holding power button for 10+ seconds) seems to have fixed it.

I'm sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree with you. I enjoyed Sony's conference more because I saw games that I actually want to play. I know there's no exact release dates for most of the games, but at least they have games coming. I was so bored with the Microsoft conference that I was struggling to stay awake. The one x is a great system, but what is a system without great games to play. I don't have a preference between either system. I have both and I love both, it's just Sony is making games that I want to play and Microsoft is making a great console with a little bit of games I want to play. I really want both companies to do well and be successful.

That's fair enough, but what I mostly meant is that Sony didn't really reveal anything 'new' during their show. Don't get me wrong. In terms of games I want to play, Sony's definitely got it. I probably could have worded my post better.

you like 3rd person narrative driven games then Sony is the system for you, I love mine. If I'm honest though what doesn't look like an "Uncharted Mod" these days....

 
I dont care about sony nor own a ps4 anymore so I skipped the conference but Im sure Final Fantasy VII and kingdom hearts 3 looked really good and we can expect them soon

 
We're past the age of E3 press conferences consisting of bar graphs and pointless number and statistics and a nonstop barrage of random celebrities who little or nothing to do with the games they've been paid to talk about for 30 seconds. I Say we're all the real winners.

I definitely agree with you on Ubisoft. I didn't get a chance to see Microsoft and Sony's live, but was following along and sifting through the info has it was shown. Microsoft had the obvious X1X and a Battlegrounds getting a rough release date (which I have been waiting on) and Sony showed the stuff I already knew I was going to want.

Watching Ubi's was worth it. Granted I don't have a Switch so the Mario + Rabbids was nothing too interesting for me, but I'll be damn if they didn't make me kind of want a Switch just to play it (which is a job well done on their part seeing as I haven't played a Mario game since who knows when, and Rabbids has never really interested me much before). The Beyond Good and Evil 2 was really nice to see, and the monkey in the video made me want to play it. Skull and Bones isn't necessarily my type of game, but I'll be damn if it didn't pique my interest a little bit. I was really hoping for another installment of Splinter Cell, so I was disappointed when their show ended and I didn't get any Sam Fisher. Then of course their was AC:Origins and FC5 which looked really good. FC5 really had me with their video... Part of me felt like it was the video game version of the movie Red State.

Of all of the conferences so far, I'd have to say Ubisoft and Bethesda take the cake.

 
Have not played a Forza since 2. Legitimate question, 5 goty or 6 standard? I typically buy physical but Gamestop has a Forza tax and I can tell how good those games are, I've never seen either at a pawnshop

I also have unopened Project Cars, but I could return that for $15 gs credit

I'd go with F5 and FH3. Gotta get a lot off my 500G harddrive. Or swap my ps4 drive for the xbox.

Are you sure you weren't talking about Devolver Digital's conference? Of course, in that conference, everyone stayed to the end, and were at the edge of their seats. The drugs kicked in from the start, though. They had to have been taking LSD in that conference, considering how it was.

Yeah the first few hours I was like "Crap! So expensive."

But then I look at how MS is giving me OG BC, 360 BC and a pretty good lineup with the X1.

They might not be winning the console sales race, but they are definitely doing good at retaining what they have and sucking more $$$ out of us.

I'm waiting on the 30 minute Switch stream to decide if I get one or not. Because if I spend $500 on a X I am not getting a Switch till 2019 most likely. Thankfully I had a Wii U for Zelda BOTW because that was a amazing experience.

Oh man, you missed out on Forza Motorsport 3?! That's my last physical Collector's Edition of the franchise, some fond memories with that one. I actually really liked the soundtrack too. Well I'd go with the GotY edition for FM5, you'll get more out of it and by the time you're done with FM5, FM6 should be on sale again where you could get more than the standard there too. Also recommend FH2, a pseudo Italian/European setting is a lot of fun to drive open-world around and explore. The Forza Horizon games are made by Playground Games, with people behind Burnout/PGR/Blur as the developers. They make some fun and arcade like racing. The Forza Motorsport games are made by Turn 10, they're all about that simulated racing and go down to the detail on many things like track detail and car authentically.
