Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Some solid stuff in Nintendo's E3 direct but come on a title trailer for Metroid Prime 4? I mean I'm glad they're working on it, but at this point I don't have much confidence that they're actually making a Metroid 4 tbh. E3 quality showing for me goes: Microsoft>Ubisoft>Nintendo>EA>Sony>Bethesda.

I wasn't really wowed of anything from Bethesda and can't believe anyone would want to play Doom VR. Im also not sold on Fallout VR because I loose myself in the Fallout games and would play for hours, something I can't do in VR due to motion sickness. The only game in that entire Bethesda conference I was really interested in was Wolfenstein II, that just looks balls to the wall crazy, crazy good. The Sony presser needed more discussion from developers, it felt like it was just trailer after trailer before a new movie of stuff they showed last year. Also where was the gameplay stuff where someone's on stage playing the actual game?! EA had a win with the Star Wars Battlefront 2 game & no SP talk. I don't get the extreme close ups for Madden's uniforms for Madden on XB1X though lol. I'm sure it's gonna look and play really well on the new Xbox but those cross stitchings on the football journeys... Kind of underwhelmed on the Battlefield 1 showing there but then again that's a game that needs to be played to experience the chaotic nature of that franchise. The Way Out developer on stage trying to convince everyone that it's a good idea to make a game mandatory co-op, prob snorted some cocaine before he hit the stage lol. "It's gonna kick ASS!"

My most fav trailer from this E3:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WX_h8rneDxU
Boom boom boom boom, bang bang bang bang lol.

Close 2nd:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUuKIpCM2o0

Third would be Metro.

My fav new announcement:

OG Xbox BC

Close 2nd would be Beyond Good & Evil 2 being announced with a super slick CGI trailer.

Also that Yoshi game is fucking adorable - I still need to play my copy of Yoshi's Wooly World on Wii U though.

I guess the point I'm trying to make with Nintendo is that I appreciate that Microsoft has improved the E3 game and doesn't just fill the conference with logos of "Halo 6 2018" "Gears of War 5 2019" "Forza Horizon 4 2018"

I like that just about everything in the MS conference will be out before next E3
Too bad it's all rubbish.

I'd love to have an X1X but I'd have to justify it to my wife.  I mentioned watching the presser and about the system and then the price, to which she balked at as she would rather spend money on other things like.... pfftt.... I dunno.  Remodeling and the kids and stuff like that.  I even have a 4K TV but alas.... I'll have to wait until there's a massive sale to be able to talk her into letting me pick one up.

On the bright side, I start my new teaching job in the fall (finally leaving the hospital pharmacy midnight shifts!) and will make a cool, extra $10K a year!  Hopefully by the time a sale is upon us, it'll be easier to talk her into it!

Also, on a side note - BG&E2... I hate to sound like an old fuddy duddy, but was all of the language necessary?  I think the charm of the first game, besides awesome characters, was the ability for it to cover heavy topics while staying relatively kid friendly.  My kids enjoyed watching me play through it a few months ago.  BG&E2... there's no way, regardless of how gorgeous that trailer is.

Video games are truly becoming harder for parents to enjoy.  What I wouldn't give for a spoken language filter for games, just to bleep out cursing when the younglings are around.  I don't mind hearing it, but I don't exactly want my kids watching a very Sing-esque cartoon monkey shout fuck repeatedly.

Press 'Like' on this post for your chance to win a 30-day Game Pass code for FREE. Random drawing at 10PM EST TONITE.

(The code must be redeemed by 6/14 at 4:59 AM EST.)

FAQ and Fine Print

1) Blink, I thought you had Verizon. What gives? My buddy at work has T-Mobile and gave me his code.

2) Blink, don't you want to use the code for yourself? No, I have nearly 500 games on my XB1. Have these games already.

3) Blink, why don't you try and sell it? I'd rather make a CAG smile.

4) Blink, why did you include a FAQ in your post? Cuz I am a dork.

Only in the minds of the usual diehard Nintendo fans. For the rest of us, it's the same old tired stuff.
I'm not trashing the others, but Xbox barely had anything new this year, and Sony literally only had Shadow of the Colossus Remake as far as big new games go.

Nintendo might be relying on the same franchises but they're in a whole other league with that kind of stuff compared to Halo/Gears/Forza of Microsoft. A mainline Pokemon game on a home console for the first time? The first real Metroid in 10 years from Retro? Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Fire Emblem Warriors are both this year, and they announced a few games for next. Mario looks fantastic and Zelda's story DLC was finally teased.

Thought Id ask here before Bing (got to get those rewards points), but is the Xbox Game Pass only available on the One or can you access the 360 titles on the 360?

Nintendo has what a handful of big games total? Of course they have to bring more out and quick or the Switch will die like the Wii U. I will never forget going to Target November or maybe December 2013. Trying to find 3 titles I wanted for PS4 to do a buy 2 get 1 free (plus a $30 off video game coupon). Pickings were slim. There were NO PS4 consoles to be found. Nintendo rep (so he claimed) was restocking the Nintendo display and tried to convince me to buy a Wii U.

Sony and MS have 3.5 years of big and small titles (not counting BC on XBox One).

I am not a huge Halo fan but love Gears and oddly enough really enjoy FH3. There is plenty to play on XBox One that came out since late 2013. Nintendo has to bring it since there will be limited 3rd party support.

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/forza-horizon-3-sells-25-million-units-entire-seri/1100-6447805/

I am not going to bag on Nintendo, Sony or MS here but makes total sense to me that they announced more titles. They really had to no?

And Microsoft didn't? People have been losing their shit about lack of new exclusives for the past year, with game after game getting canceled. Third parties bring a lot to the table, but if you don't have many exclusives then it's hard to draw in new players. Nintendo's low amount of third-party support goes back 3 generations, but that hasn't stopped them from having plenty of slow years in the past.

I think Sony is the only one really in the position to coast on previously announced games.

I have young kids myself and I agree about wishing more games offered a language or even a blood filter option. When I stay up late I love playing mature games, but the time I have to play them is very little. This E3 really made me realize how much of a fuddy duddy I have also become. As a family we watched the entire Xbox show and I got just as excited as my kids when the less violent trailers played. The reinvigorated excitement over Minecraft. Super Lucky's Tale looks cute! Sea of Thieves, the wife actually says a game looks like it could be fun.

Crackdown 3, dammit Terry Crews watch your mouth! The family wants to blow stuff up.

B-b-but all the games Microsoft showed are coming out before E3 next year!

People or video game nerds on sites like this? The average gamer doesn't care about this crap as much as we obsess about it. If MS was outselling Sony 2:1 (or whatever the real numbers are) do you think video game nerds would be losing the shit over MS not having as many exclusives? I think if the price was the same and MS didn't fuck up the message (can't trade games / always need Internet etc) they would be even if not ahead of Sony. Price is what screwed them not lack of exclusives.

Out of the gate neither had much worth playing and like no exclusives.

I think those sorts of people stick with what is most popular (PS2/360/PS4), or get what their friends are getting. The people that really don't care at all about exclusives are only the sort that stick to a few series like CoD, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, and sports, that are on both platforms. I guarantee you plenty of more casual people decided to go with the PS4 because of the strength of exclusives like Naughty Dog's, just like Halo helped the 360 get to the top early in it's generation.

I may eventually get an S before an X1X. I don't know. The fatty is doing fine. It's not like I paid anything for it. It came from the Sunday that Best Buy mistakenly paid $300 for the slim 360. Traded in two 360's and walked out with a new 360 and an X1 and an extra $30 GC.

When I do, assuming the fatty is still running, I'll probably toss it in my son's room and let him have it for Goat Simulator and movie watching.

Any decent deals on Live credit?
If you have Food Lion grocery stores near you, you can get a $10 shopping coupon towards your next grocery purchase when you buy $50 in Xbox Live gift cards or in combination with a few other types of gift cards including Buffalo Wild Wings, The Childrens Place, Dominos, JCPenney, Petco, Regal Cinemas, Nike, Fandango and Ruby Tuesday listed in their flyer. I did it this morning with a combination of $25 in Fandango and $25 in Xbox Live. $10 towards my groceries is a deal to me. Deal ends on 6/24.

Yeah our local (Shoprite) grocery chain does that too. They are doing that this week but only with like 4 different stores. Last time it was for XBox credit as well. Ended up just picking up a $25 card from Game Stop with my credit. Will have to load up next time there is a decent deal.

Looking locally on Craigslist and Facebook storefronts and there are a butt load of X1s for sale. Don't really feel like dealing with eBay, shipping and all that crap. Hope I could still get $125 for my fatty but not so sure seeing how many there are.

Only trades for $75 so don't think I could do worse than that.
Isn't there a $50 bonus towards a new Xbox right now? I could've sworn it says that in the deals page online (and why I'm considering it).

Edit: it says when you trade "tech". So I'm guessing that's a no. Maybe they will take my 10 year old broken iPod? Lol

Watching Crackdown 3 looks like they nailed the gameplay but Shipwreck said it was harder to climb buildings meh.

Looks good to me, though 4k 30fps is disappointing. Would have loved 60fps. Seems like that will be a common theme though because people rather get the 4k eye candy.

Path of Exile dev just said on stream that it's real easy to work with the Xbox One X. 2 hours after they got the dev kit, they had it running at 4k 60fps.

Yeah at this point MS has to basically send a dev kit to all the publishers/developers if it's that easy.

Lazy devs is gonna be a big comment going forward if it really only takes a few hours.

And then there's Bungie, who could do 60fps, but won't since it will make Sony look bad.

I'll remain calm if they release Crimson Skies as early OG XBox BC this week.

Otherwise I shall riot.

I'm bidding on eBay OG XBox copies. I would suggest people do the same if theres certain titles they want, while the prices are still low.

Though I hope that when titles become BC they are $10 like they were on the 360. (or less)

I'm glad they're actually paying attention to this sort of stuff. I can forgive them for slowing it down given the recent OG Xbox BC announcement. They're probably prioritizing that at the moment, wouldn't be surprised if Insider access to that was available soon-ish.

Already got one, going to see how many more I can get while I'm out!
Just went out with a few friends and got 4 each. These free taco days are always fun, thanks to CodeTrader for posting.

This. How is no one incredibly hyped at the idea of Nintendo + MS + PC crossplay? It's amazing PR for Nintendo/MS and it's bad PR for Sony.

Thought Id ask here before Bing (got to get those rewards points), but is the Xbox Game Pass only available on the One or can you access the 360 titles on the 360?
Only available on the Xbone, sorry.

It's also great for switch users given the lower (comparative) install base and attach rate. There's way more incentive to buy a game with such online focus knowing that there are hundreds of thousands of other people who already own the game that you can play with.

Keep an eye on Amazon warehouse deals. Scored one for $2 and change yesterday with case and manual.
