How is it not worth $25 out of pocket? You spend that on plastic toys that you never open. This is a 4K UHD player. Better specs than the PS4 and it's brand new. What's there to think about?

If you have a fatty already I would just start saving for the X. There's not really a noticeable jump to the S without a 4K hdr TV, but from the sounds of it the jump to the X will be massive, even with only a 1080p TV
 
This T-Mobile Tuesday worked out pretty good. Ended up accumulating 3 years of game pass with a couple of free codes and buying the rest on SD for about $36 total.

Good point. I'll probably do this by Friday anyway if I can find a GS store with a 1 TB system in stock. In some cases, I just need another voice to "co-sign" me making these purchases. ;)

If you already have an external, imo, the extra ~$50 is not worth the extra 500gb. With the deals now on external drive you could easily pick up a 2tb for that difference.

Best reason to get the S is if you have a 4K HDR TV as I do and don't plan on upgrading right away to the X. The $250 price difference with the X is too much for me so I'm going to hold off until I see how many games take advantage of it and probably for a price drop.

For me the S is to get a 4K Blu-Ray player on the cheap (after selling my fatty using an old phone to get an extra $50 off at GS along with the temporary price drop) and the HDR on some games. Haven't played other games yet, but Forza Horizon 3 looks phenomenal with HDR.

While more powerful, even the PS4 Pro doesn't have a 4K Blu-Ray player and those alone go for around $299.

Anyway, it was a no brainer for me. But I also have a TV capable of using it so that's a big factor. And if it had cost me much more, I may not have.

I'll probably get the X eventually but can't justify the $250 right away.

Better yet, buy a Google Chromecast from Bestbuy for $30, instead of spending $25. It trades into GameStop for $8, plus $50 when buying that Xbox. So $58. And you should pay no tax for the Xbox because it's all store credit, unless your local govt taxes you anyway.

After I posted, I checked GameStop's website and didn't see any new Xbox One S systems for $199.99. Perhaps GS isn't participating in the $199.99 offer. If that's the case, I'll keep my VCR model.

That was a premature statement on the internet because of the $50 cut. The cut doesn't count to the Minecraft and the GameStop exclusive Gears4 Blue console.

Buy a couple chrome casts and get $116 towards that new Xbox1S for the $60ish investment.

Not sure. It may happen at some point but there is a $50 temporary cut to $249 for the 500 GB bundles. That's supposed to end on the 17th.

That's false advertising on Microsoft's part then. As much as I enjoy Boggle, Fallout 4 and Spelunky (my three most played games on Xbox One), it's not worth the upgrade if that's not the case. Not really waffling here, but my VCR model works just fine with the newer style controller which I really like. Having to delete my profile and moving my games over to my external drive before trading in is a headache, so I'll pass on this round, but thanks for the info, guys! When Boggle gets a 4K update, I'll know it's time!!!

Thanks. Just saw the 2X credit with on wheelspins in FH2. Started playing that last night. Had the DLC pack thing that was on sale a month or two ago. Also saw the 5 free cars and didn't know why exactly. Also had over a 1,000,000 CR since I have been using that rewards site. Off to a nice start.

Knocked out 3 of the 4 FH3 challenges last night. Decided to go broke again and purchased the 1967 Ferrari 330 P4, which pretty much took all that I have again (last time it was the Koenigsegg One:1 lol, which is soo good). Then I went into the Forza Hub and realized I had forgotten to collect my rewards last Friday so even more loot my way, nice! They've got a good amount of info on Forza 7 and the new racing league but then I was lured into FH2 with the you're pretty close to getting this achievement - oh sure why not, click on achievement, loads game, well I need to grab the disc but yeah now I'm playing FH2 lol. Messed around a bit in that game and collected my Rewards there too, lol 10M more credits. I guess I haven't redeemed all my rewards in that one for a while hahaha. It's a bit of a turn off going from FH3 to FH2 as there's a lot more restrictions in the open ness of your drive, fences, impenetrable guard rails, fences, but overall it's still got that fun racing experience.

Has anyone else not gotten their mixpot yet? I logged in online yesterday morning. Signed in with my Microsoft account. Went to account settings. Said my Microsoft account was linked. Watched a bit of the E3 showcase on channel one. I know there's 2 more days, but some people were saying it only took a little while for the games to show up in their queue.

I was concerned with FH2 being a step backwards from FH3. I only started playing last night and only got to
Sisteron
but so far I am enjoying it and don't regret picking it up. Really strange I typically don't like driving games these two have me hooked.

I got in the Amazon FM7 pricing glitch the other day. Still not sure I will get it. Wondering if it will be too hard/punishing for someone like me who still kind of sucks at driving games.

I think there's a demo in the marketplace for FM6. I tried out FM6 when it was free to play back in August and quickly realized it wasn't for me. It seems like a great game for people who are really into cars, but for a casual like me, it was way too technical and demanding. Requires way more skill. It's a totally different type of game. It has 26 real race tracks, and those are the only tracks you race on. In FH games, you could be racing anywhere on the map -- street, dirt road, beach, etc. -- and there are a ton more variety in terms of the race types and "tracks." To me, FM seems like it's more about mastering the tracks, and perfecting them with the different cars.

Duh, I was thinking the demo for FM7 would likely not be out in time for me to cancel my pre-order. Not sure why I didn't think to see if there was a FM6 demo. I will have to check it out before the game ships. From the sound of it I don't think it is for me. I don't even mess around too much with the tuning in FH3. Just give me a car and let me go.

Played the MvC demo last night and it gave me a bad impression. It seems like it's mostly just to show off the cutscenes because the fights are all a joke. The cutscenes themselves are passable at best, but most of the voice acting is bad, with a few replaced voice actors and some ok to bad MCU impressions. Having an actual story that's just about beating up Ultron bots somehow takes me out of it too, why are characters like Dante or Captain Marvel taking on one or two weaklings at a time? The crossover element has been the whole fun of the series, but trying to tell something serious makes me think a lot more about power levels and abilitiy, like Chris Redfield shouldn't be in the same league as anyone. There seems to be no Ryu in the demo either, which seems like an odd choice.

The big problem is how dumbed down the combat is. Auto-combo by tapping X, simple button combo supers. Overall it felt a lot less snappy compared to 2 and 3, like inputs were squishy somehow. I think they would have been a LOT better off if they would have included a VS mode to this demo with like 4 characters. Maybe the extremely short AI fights are giving me a worse impression than I should be getting. It's hard to really experiment and get a feel for the game.

I just realized that Skyrim VR on PS4 is a separate retail release for $60 and not a free update to the remaster. Are you fucking kidding me?

It's just a cool option to have. I do know a few old Halo friends that preferred the Duke, mostly bigger guys with big hands. I might buy one if they're the right price, Hyperkin is alright, kind of depends product to product.

Honestly XboneX didn't really win me over yet. I think I'll get a Switch or PS4 instead, seems like a better use of my budget.

Did the same night before. Purchased the 196x Ford GT for 3.3 million. Put a hurting on the cash flow for sure lol. FH3 ultimate was a day 1 purchase for me but until recently I hadn't gave it much attention. The Forzathon events sucked me back in though just last week. Only thing left to purchase is the hot wheels expansion but waiting for it to hit $10 or below.

All the forza games are forgiving single player, difficulty wise, since you can rewind at any point and redo parts that are tough. I rewind like a mofo trying to perfectly hit curves and stuff when practicing something. The harder thing most people find is drift challenges and stuff. You can also reduce the drivatar levels, I usually set them to very low because I just enjoy driving and seeing cool stuff and not really racing against perfect AI.

I also got in on the FM7 glitch ($63 for ultimate edition) but may end up cancelling too, I absolutely LOVE the forza horizon series which is open world and crazy and more fast and furious style, and get super bored of the mainline forza motorsports series which is track racking and more sim-y. I mean Hot Wheels vs NASCAR basically, its no competition for me.

Not only are they re-releasing Skyrim at full price, but now you can add Amibos to dress up like Mario*... in the non-remastered version.

*They showed off Link, which makes sense in the setting, but what about Samus or Waluigi?

Am I the only one not hurting for credits in FH3? The Ultimate version, the expansion pass and Forza rewards give me all the cars, money, and VIP double prize wheel spins that I am never in need of cash. I believe the 1:One was a Forza loyalty reward and I will do the same and buy the P4 to complete these challenges.

I think porting a remaster that is less than 1 year old is fine, although I don't think it should be $60. Especially since Nintendo has never had any games from the series on their systems, the port is fine and I think it's cool they are adding a few unique touches which don't really add or subtract from the gameplay.

A separate, additional PS4 release though, for VR? Insanity.
