  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Yep, Steam version. I forget which site was giving it out, but they did a handful of codes for four days or so; a bunch of CAGs managed to get in (my copy was actually from a CAG friend who managed to get 2, and passed on the spare when I missed it by a hair).

Taking that view, you may be right, but I'm taking the view that they had a chance to at least narrow the gap with PS4 and they could have shouted, "Only on Xbox One," which would have been reason to buy the Xbox One. If they sell it twice, you also need to remember that those buying it down the line will probably be buying the second copy for like $20, so that's not as good as it would seem either. Sony was smart keeping Infamous: Second Son only on PS4, as that's the only real big exclusive for a while, Microsoft diluted their own market.

 
It's kind of bizarre to jump in so randomly to this thread. Sometimes it's just filled with people whining and sometimes it's a bunch of people being all friendly to each other.  Sometimes both.

I got the game on the second day, the skull helmet on the third and the 2 DLC's on the fourth. It was easy once I got more or less at which hours they used to post (which was on the second day backtracking past hours from them, about 12, 19 and 23 hours pm), and then just press F5 about 20 or 30 minutes until they posted @_@ It's sad but I hadn't anything better to do.

Yeah, I bought the DLC they didn't give away (garden in flames). They deserved it to be bought since they were so kind to share all those codes.

Game's still in the marketplace though, I thought It would be delisted on january the 1st.

Hey, welcome back Bobby. A mix of congrats and condolences on the last few months, it sounds like it's been a rather hectic rollercoaster ride for you.

I can relate to how something can just knock you back though different circumstances. Haven't been on here in a good while as my brother-in-law died very suddenly a few weeks back. He was 37 with 5 kids. Just died in his sleep in bed taking a nap on a Sunday afternoon. We still don't know what it was that killed him as the autopsy didn't show up anything wrong and he was in otherwise fit health and wasn't a drug user or anything like that. It's been a horrible few weeks caring for his partner and my nephews and niece as you can imagine. We're the only family they have up here (everyone else is at least a 7 hour drive away) and so it's been very busy trying to take the kids' minds off it all. Hence my time has gone there. Just a sidenote, for those who do have kids or a partner and don't have life insurance cause you think you're 30-something and invincible - get life insurance. For a couple hundred bucks a year it could make a huge difference for your kids and family. Our family has really learnt that the hard way here.

Anyways, figured I'd pop in and say hello. Looking forward to The Wolf Among Us episode 2. I took advantage of the season pass deal and absolutely loved the first episode. Played through it twice. I grabbed The Citadel DLC, wasn't the price I wanted but figured I do want to play it and the chances of a better price any time soon is going to be rare.

I've been having my nephews over a lot so I grabbed another Xbox (loving that you can get them for like $50 used now) so that my partner can spend time in the living room while the kids game in the bedroom or vice versa. So I finally have a PAL version (the one I have is a NTSC one I brought from Canada) so I'm looking forward to playing Catherine and a few other games (Of Orcs and Men) that I have on disc that aren't region free.

I keep looking at the GTA IV DLC and thinking I might finally bite on Gay Tony but then again I can probably get a copy on disc for just as cheap right now if I'm looking for it. And I haven't even finished GTA IV let alone Lost and the Damned (which I haven't even started) so I might just wait. So many 360 games are just coming down in price that it's hard to justify me buying anything on XBLA that's older than a year or two that isn't $5. I decided against Kingdoms of Amalur for this very reason. That and I'm annoyed that my backlog is so big that I have owned almost every Games for Gold game other than Fable III (which I didn't even want), Dead Rising 2 (which I almost bought the day prior to it being announced) and Shoot Many Robots. I might just hold back on buying games for a bit. That and money is a bit tight as I've been treating my nephews and niece to everything the last little bit.

On that note. This probably isn't the place (sorry I just haven't had any time to check the trading list or even eBay) but if anyone does have a 12 months of Live Gold code they are willing to part with for like $35-40 (or cheaper if you have a good heart). My 13 year old nephew's gold runs out soon and it's been really good for him as a way of taking his mind off his loss. So if you do have a code laying around you wanted to part with and are cool with maybe $35-40 just private message me.

For fans of Twisted Pixel (lococycle, the maw, splision man) I learned this week when visiting some friends at work that the heads of TP have made a slasher horror movie, and it is in post production. Apparently it is VERY over the top, true to their style I guess. They're trying for nationwide release but from the type of flick it sounds like may end up being a VOD title.

2 comedy flicks I worked on just hit VOD today and actually are really good, 'Love & Air Sex', and 'Cinema Six'
 
Can't wait for episode 2 of The Wolf Among Us Tomorrow. Hopefully it doesn't release late in the day and the achievements work. Two things which seem to not normally go in TellTale's way.

I don't know why people are bad mouthing the game. I've heard fairly positive things about it myself. although most of those were from an achievement community I'm in.

A friendly reminder that I need to be saved from constantly playing bad games.


Also everyone's getting me hyped about arcade games here that I want but doesn't appear to be available to me on the 360 at this time. Dustforce still sounds wonderful to me, but it still says "soon" for the 360 (but available everywhere else). I also loved almost every single Strider game (almost referring to the above spoiler tag), that I am super hyped for the upcoming XBLA Strider game, supposedly due out by the end of the month (26th). While I'm not interested in World of Tanks tomorrow, I can consider Far Cry Classic and Pac-Man Museum due out this month if they hit a good discount later. Even after buying the season pass for The Wolf Among Us, I will likely end out waiting until after all the episodes drop because I probably wouldn't be able to take the wait between episodes.



Also, I think someone earlier asked about absolute newcomers to Dead Island, which fits me to a T. Of course, I'd probably have to be lead by the nose, since this videogaming stuff is difficult for an elderly person as I.

There were some people out there saying the game, (LocoCycle), was racist for some reason.

I passed on buying it because it was a "launch impulse buy" title, (where they know there isn't crap to buy at launch, and people are more prone to buy a game because of lack of variety/boredom/desperation for something new to play). I fell for that ploy with the GameCube, and like GW Bush says, "fool me once, won't get fooled again".

Hahaha. HEY, I only said it was on the marketplace but not ready to be bought! MS uses to upload the page for the games a month or some weeks before releasing it, so I guess it will be available this month. Aaaaanyways I will wait for a sale to buy it, so I have no hurry (huge backlog).

I could never do that. I like the way the episodic structure because I can play the episode, get hyped for the next one but not have to worry about it being stuck in my backlog.

 
I'm glad there isn't anything I want this week. I was able to get two games off my backlog - Eternal Sonata and Deadlight. I finally decided to start Gears of War and do I suck and this is on the lowest level but then again it's been a while since I played a TPS. For those who would want to mp, not right now, besides, I'm more of a run and gun which is probably the reason I'm not doing so well.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It's really great that you're there for your family since I know how hard that can be. I lost my dad when I was a similar age to your nephew and it was extremely devastating. I was fortunate to have family there to distract me. And I can definitely attest to how video games helped me cope and simply make it through the day when your life is turned upside down like that. Hang in there.

You're definitely going to need to make use of cover in the campaign, but run and gun will probably work in MP. As a tactic, anyway. People / teams / clans with 7 years experience in the game will make it tough. Despite the devs' desire for it to be a cover based shooter, the MP mostly became rushing for point blank shotgunning, while making use of the cover mechanics to bounce off the environment to be tougher to hit. The devs tried to counter this in Gears 2 by giving stopping power to the assault rifles to slow the rushers down and adding new starting weapons in 3, but there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and the shotgun still ruled the day.

If you want help with any parts of the campaign, I can lend a hand.

 
any idea how to download episode 2 of the wolf among us? its 5 bucks when i tried to download in game..this is the first time i bought a season pass on xbox

Same here. Seems to be a glitch, normally when you buy through the game owning a season pass the price should be labeled as FREE. I hope they can fix this soon and possibly without having to wait for a patch.

I checked around the interwebz, and yeah, it seems to be a glitch affecting everyone - it's everywhere on other forums too, including Telltale's official one. The season pass, as of now, is not giving Ep2 for free. Damn.

If the Wolf Among Us Episode price is $4.99 with the season pass (that is what it shows for me), what is the price without the pass?

I guess I am not alone with the problem.  Looks like threads on Tell Tail Games and Xbox forum with the same issue.  The season pass is not being honored due to some technical glitch

Because of the main character and cycle's conversations. Made fun of Hispanics. As a Hispanic, I'm more offended at other races making a bug fuss about it. Gamers but mostly journalists have been so easily offended lately. It's annoying. My friend played the game and said he was cracking up at it, so I'd like to think LocoCycle just got the short end this time.
 
Is there a debate over whether Grand Theft Auto or Saint's Row series is better? Because from the little I played of Saints Row, I had a lot more fun. 

These sales aren't bad, but I felt like they just did this (or Rockstar sales in general). 

 
Having tried GTA IV and Saints Row 2 and 3, I much prefer the SR series. Seems a lot less serious, to me, and overall more fun to play.

 
Lococycle is awesome. Just wished they priced it accordingly and not $15 at launch because for the kind of game it is, the price was a deterrent.

In my opinion, Saints Row 1 and 2 were good, but they started going off the deep end with 3, and now 4 is just too "out there" for me. It really boils down to personal preference. GTA V is leaps and bounds better than !V, which was a great game for its time, and most of the Saints Row games are better than GTA IV. This sounds a little odd in my head, but I like that GTA feels more realistic than Saints Row.

 
Anyone else not able to download Wolf Among Us through the season pass? I try to purchase it from the game itself, instead of the dashboard, and it gives me the same warning to not buy it if I own the season pass and it wants to charge me. 

 
Strider on 2/19 for the 360, X1 or both? I've been looking forward and stashing credit for it since launch. Can't wait!

For me Saints, Sleeping Dogs, Red Dead, Bully, and L.A. Noire were all better. No slam from me on GTA, I just didn't get into the stories as much.

I didn't get interested in Saints Row until it stopped taking itself seriously and turned into a completely different style of game that focuses mostly on story and less on gameplay.

As I see Strider Hiryu is back. Gameplay looks dashing. Last time I played Strider was on PS1 and now Capcom improved the game quite a lot. I kinda want to play this shiny platformer yet I don't feel like spending "new release" price on it.

 
So, for those having issues with the Season Pass for The Wolf Among Us: there is an issue, for every user, that prevents people to use the Season Pass to get Episode 2 for free. Whether you try to purchase in or out of the game, it will still attempt to charge you money as if you don't have a Season Pass. Redownloading the game and/or the Season Pass does not help, it's an issue on Microsoft's or Telltale's side. Microsoft have said nothing regarding the issue via official means (only by Support, but I'll get to that later), and the only thng Telltale did in the past 8 or so hours the issue blew up was retweeting an Xbox Support tweet, plus pointing out that it's being investigated and further updates will come from said Twitter handle (Xbox Support, not Telltale). Contacting support gets varying results: based on tweets, other people's and my own experience, this is what could happen:

 - In the first hours, some users reported that Support people told them that the episodes will be available for free for the Season Pass owners during Summer. This is obviously a false info or a misunderstanding, the episodes should (and will be) available as they come out.

 - Later on, as it became evident that this is a wide issue (in fact, EVERY season pass owner has it), they started telling that they are looking into this issue, and there will be further updates on this. Until then, they're advising against buying the item - probably because of Microsoft's no refund policy.

 - Some users are reporting that they were issued a refund, one way or another. I tried speaking to multiple Support people, but none of them seemed to be okay with the refund option. I don't know if you can only apply if you already bought the game or they'll tell you "oh just buy it and you get your money back". Maybe this was a temporary solution they offered to some, but moved on instead to a full-time fix. I did not buy it and they suggested me not to, again, telling me to wait for a fix on this particular issue.

So, in short, what is it that you can do now? You can try your luck and contact Xbox Support Chat: you'll only have to wait in line 1 minute or so, explaing the Season Pass issue you're having (they're already more than aware of it by now anyway), and ask/hope for a refund. They are able to check what you own, in fact, the last support lady I talked to did ask for my e-mail and gamertag to verify whether I actually have the Season Pass, yet advised me to wait rather than going for the refund. If you can not get a refund (which seems to be the most likely option), you can only wait: Telltale and Microsoft are aware of the issue and are working on it. Since it seems to be an issue related to the marketplace rather than the game itself, it might be fixed any moment probably, and it may not require a game patch (which needs time to be approved on Xbox 360, as you probably know). Let's hope the issue will be fixed soon.

 
what a bummer for everyone who got the season pass.  I skipped it for now (did download episode 1 but havent gotten to it yet) but that is a huge deterrent.
