This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

why do you people keep saying this dumb shit? I hear it all the time and its like you guys just totally ignore the fact the X1 has, hands down, QUITE EASILY, the best exclusives right now. Like, how is it even debatable?

-Dead Rising 3 (FIRE!)

-Titanfall (FIRE!)

-Killer Instinct (Best fighting game out now)

-Ryse (bad ass, gorgeous, violent, and a lot of fun)

-Plants Vs Zombies (FIRE!)

-Forza (FIRE!)

-Max: The Curse Of Brotherhood (FIRE!)
How long do you plan on playing the same 7 games?

That's my gripe with the new consoles, there's quite a gap in between big name game releases.

So you expect them to be able to develop games for two systems that were literally in an arms race up until they were released?

There's more than 7 games, that's just exclusives, making mountains out of mole hills.

Nothing for me this week. I bought Force Unleashed II two years ago during a sale and never played it. I'm not even sure if I even downloaded it.

Oh well, everyone buy King Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match and play some  laggy online matches (seriously, this game is amazing)!!

PvZ is easily one of the best recent shooters, and I play basically every shooter that's not CoD. I think I've put more time into that then Titanfall (which is also fun). It's really, really fun though and I definitely recommend it.

I'm disappointed to hear Ryse and Killer Instinct weren't FIRE! :(
Especially since KI is the best next-gen fighting game against all that stiff competition!

Killer Instinct is, indeed, fire

Is TFU worth it? I've never played it... can care less about canonocity with it... I need a good single player game to jump into

I just saved you $7.

but I have heard that there's still a bit of a community though I would expect that anyone who is playing it still is amazing at it and will destroy new players but I could be wrong.
This is the main reason why I hate Call of Duty/BF/etc. After about 2009, this statement is true for most every multiplayer game that isn't CoD/BF/etc. It's frustrating. remember when people played a variety of games online and not just one over and over again? yeah, me too. apparently those days are gone though.

Yeah I've played more PvZ: GW than I have of Titanfall, fun game.

nothing on the PS4 is fuckin with this lineup. Nothing. Infamous just looks pretty but with the generic protagonist and a boring ass story, nobody is going batshit over it anymore and its only been a month or so since it released. Then thats not to mention Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break which both look like they will be FIRE! I just am sick of people saying "bring da gamez, Mykrosoft durrr" BITCH THEY HAVE. THEY'RE OUT NOW. GO BUY THEM.
Wow, seven whole games. I have 6 of them and a PS4, and it's not enough. You must be pretty easily satisfied.

There's still enough of a Shadowrun community that I've logged 335 hours between the PC and 360 versions!

Sooo ummm, Spidey 2 is up on the x1 store now. someone got it and is gonna stream it lol

http://www.twitch.tv/hannibal615

Please stop talking about PvZ or I'll buy it... Please :( Is it good on 360 though?
The graphics are pretty good for X360, and the framerate is also pretty solid. The netcode is very good, and so is the general optimization. It's a great version, and it looks good even on the prev-gen consoles, also plays damn well. Plus it's a lot smaller, given the base game is like 2.4GB on X360.

Can't decide to get Child of Light on PS4 or X1. The remote play on vita makes me lean towards PS but I usually prefer xbox. Any suggestions?

I think it's more that we expected both systems to have had a few more games out by now including some AAA titles and there's been a lot of delays on both sides.
This. It's because these new consoles were rushed and put together way ahead of schedule because they didn't want to give the Wii U any more of a lead timewise. Last gen was meant to be several years longer for PS3/360 before the Wii U announcement.

This is what happens when you early adopt, you leave yourself susceptible to units with hardware failure and a drought of games all at the highest possible price. :wall:

It's my personal opinion that the Xbone has the edge in exclusives right now (though PS4 has the edge in console multiplats). The problem is, that's just right now. Microsoft hasn't announced a new exclusive in months, and Sony announced their entire exclusives list for the year about 2 or 3 months ago. So, it looks like Sony is catching up. Nevermind the fact that the exclusives list you posted isn't really exclusives (half of them are Xbox 360/Xbox One or Xbox One/PC), so I wouldn't say they count, because compared to the PS3/PS4 exclusive list, it doesn't look so good.

Now, chances are Microsoft's just been saving their exclusives for E3, and that Sony's early announcement will bite them in the ass there with them not having much of anything new to announce. I feel like after the trouncing they got last year, Microsoft and Nintendo are determined to come back this year guns blazing. But that's just my hope.

As for expectations for exclusives, keep them low. Both the PS4 and the Xbone are built very similarly to a PC, which means that porting is easier/cheaper than ever between the 3 devices. Which means that the only reason a dev would keep their game exclusive is because A) development was financed in exchange for exclusivity or B) they were paid off. So this gen will see the least exclusives yet, but if you're solely a console owner, that's not the worst thing in the world because it works both ways, as lots of smaller PC games are finally coming to consoles because of the ease/cheapness in porting.

XA said Spiderman 2 was on X1 Marketplace for a little bit. Maybe they released it for a small amount of time so technically it launched on all consoles at same time. Then pulled it to finish.

Still on it right now, just checked and was able to get through to the final confirm screen still.

These Star Wars sales suck as mentioned before. You can get the actual disc for like, 50% cheaper than these "sale prices."

No one's said it yet? Alright, I'm gonna say it then......."For those about to rock - FIRE! - We Salute you - FIRE!!!"

Darwinia+ is a good game that could have been great.  I'm only about half way through it but it's pretty unique and fun.  I do with the soldiers moved faster, it takes forever to cross terrain and heaven forbid if you die before unlocking a new base camp.

Still, I'm glad I gave it a shot.  I should be able to finish it tonight.

Trust me, with just watching the Columbus Blue Jackets play in the NHL playoffs, and the post season for that matter, I was totally thinking it (it's their arena home song accompanied by a real life cannon).

Anyone who complains about a game drought should've done their research before dropping a couple hundred bucks. This happens every console cycle, handhelds included. Do everyone a favor and just avoid buying a new console for the first two years. It'll save everyone a few thousand threads of the same ramblings.

The famous phrase "History repeats itself.", relevant

Don't think the consoles were "rushed" at all. Or at least not because of the Wii-U, the Xbox One obviously was ill conceived, but that seems to be due to some really odd leadership and lack of focus. But with the way the original Wii's sales collapsed in 2011-2013, the timing couldn't have been too surprising to Microsoft. It was definitely time to release those new consoles...actually it was probably overdue. The "10 year lifecycle" is a myth....it doesn't actually happen.

If anything, when the Wii-U was revealed the competition (Sony/MS) should have figured they had even MORE time to maneuver. The Wii-U operates on the same plane as PS3/360, which means those consoles might have been viable if that was the only thing to base it on. But the fact of the matter is people were getting tired of games that couldn't hit 30fps, or running sub 720p, or lacked AA, or whatever. The market was demanding new consoles.

I really think this year's E3 is going to surprise the doubters. No, there won't be a ton of 3rd party exclusives (just like there wren't last gen). But we will probably start seeing more and more multiplats that "break away" from last gen versions - and I'm sure the 1st party will have some big surprises up their sleeves. (even if we know some of them like Halo 5, Uncharted 4, etc). Those games are actually boring to me, but I know there will be some stuff shown that hits it out of the park.

Quality over quantity

Killer Instinct is still fun for me, but I know not everybody likes fighting games. That's why there is Project Spark. Hundreds if not thousands of free games already released. Don't like any of the released games? Making your own is made easy* with Project Spark.

*Easier than making a game without using PS. Still very time consuming for a great game, however PS devs have made good games in under 3 hours before.

I've been happy having both systems and haven't paid anywhere near retail for anything except Infamous. My only regret is how many PS4s I've seen on AWD with damaged packaging for $250-280 which I didn't expect. At least I got my Xbone for $370.

Please stop talking about PvZ or I'll buy it... Please :( Is it good on 360 though?
I've only played the 360 version(have the Xbone version, but I got my XB less than a week ago and haven't gotten to it yet) but it's a lot of fun. Definitely worth a buy! (even though I paid $9 a couple days after release by combining coupons at GS :p )

To anyone contemplating Plants VS Zombies: Garden Warfare, any version, do yourself a favor and buy it. It's terrific fun, think of it as an epic mixture of Team Fortress 2, Monday Night Combat, Plants VS Zombies and Battlefield. Combine it with lovely humor, wacky customization and awesome style. The gameplay is extremely balanced, polished, and very stable overall: great netcode, the lobby system could be better but it works, I probably had like 2-3 server drops in like 80 hours of gameplay (and one was a rare scheduled maintenance). There's various game modes, fairly many maps, dozens of classes, I think currently close to 2000 customization items, and all of these are increasing thanks to free DLCs, which btw also add new achievements. Oh, the achievements are pretty feasible, too. It's cheap, it's hilarious, it's fun, it's unique, it's got a free DLC plan, it's got a great community... being it an online game, who knows how many people will play it in 2-3 years. But as it is, it's one amazing game, as I mentioned earlier I played it more than Ghosts and Titanfall, both bought at launch as well. And I'm big on shooters. Do yourself a favor and buy it, it's so cheap anyway.
