  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

There's a service alert for the Xbox 360 black screen issue: (Xbox.com/status)

The only workaround is to log on to Xbox Live, then sign out, then load the game, then sign on again once you're in the game.

Haven't heard of issues on the One tonight, after the preview update issue was resolved earlier,
 
soooo....anyone else playing Crimson Dragon and not getting certain achievements to pop? I was popping cheeves left and right, then when I decided to quit for the night I checked my list and it seems there are 5 damn achievements that haven't unlocked for me, and three of them say I'm at 100%.

Live has been having issues, and Xbox One sometimes will take up to 24 hours to sync achievements. One of the side effects of the achievements going to cloud-based. Might want to try to pop another achievement tomorrow to force the sync to occur, if it doesn't automatically catch up.

yeah I'm having this problem also. My level 5 achievement popped at 8. I didn't get the first mission achievement and also the evolve your dragon.

I am really enjoying the game though, a lot more than I thought I would.

my problem is everytime i come in this thread i see your posts whining like a lil baby that _______ free game isn't good enough to your liking cause it looks like crap or you tried the 1st level or the achievements aren't what you wanted. and these are good games you're mentioning every time. quit acting so f'ing entitled and stubborn and expand your horizons or quit complaining.

I always had a phat, an Elite nonetheless, so I'm used to it. No biggie, unless coming from an S I suppose. Besides, I already have a 250Gb and a 120Gb lying around for the old models, adding a new 250Gb to the rotation is definitely a great for my space troubles (76 GoD games, 150 or so arcades, plenty of DLCs, etc.). Just count that the bundled Final Fantasy XIII brought my 360 games collection to 361 different games, and maybe a hundred or so are on disc...

man with aggregate scores this high they must be amazing. Nothing like a game with micro transactions. These games are shit. Enjoy stockholm syndrome
 
There's so many easy games I want to do that haven't been on sale for years (SoulCalibur, Uno Rush, Unbound Saga, Expendables 2, Jeremy McGrath)... It sucks when we get a week of all Games On Demand. I can always get those games on retail (And usually cheaper). Arcade games are getting delisted left and right. I literally dropped a $400 bill on the marketplace, on games that I want that might get delisted and probably won't go on sale soon, or ever again.
 

I really hope we get more arcade games sales. Tired of weeks like this, or all Bioshock Infinite shit, or all Call of Duty shit.

Really sucks.

 
FIFA14, my goalie kicks Ronaldo in the face and Ronaldo gets a yellow card for it. It will be hard to beat that. I'm liking this EA Access.

I didn't know this. That really really sucks a lot, at least for me. What are the pros of having cloud-based achievements out of curiosity?

 
The EA Access has already proven worth the price. FIFA is way more fun than I would have guessed. I dislike watching live soccer so I always avoided it, but playing couch coop rocks.

For the user? Not really much. For Microsoft? The ability to think they are keeping achievements from being hacked.

Basically, from the way I understand it, the way it now works is you unlock the achievement in the game, and assuming you have connectivity to the internet and their cloud, it synchronizes, and you see your gamerscore go up across all your devices. This doesn't always work, and I've heard the complete automatic sync only occurs once or twice a day. The push function of the achievement forces the sync to occur when you have connectivity, but at times, especially recently with the outages, the push doesn't make it, and you're stuck waiting for the daily automatic sync, or having to unlock another achievement to force it to push again.

The One does this for the cloud saves as well, but at least on that, we have a local copy of the save.

Doesn't help at all with downloaded games. All I want to do is play The Walking Dead. :(

 
Dog sitting for a friend this weekend and he has an Xbox One. Finally getting to try out some of the free games.  Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is a pretty fun game actually.  I have not tried much else since I have almost beaten but I should get so some of the others.

Hmm... They still have the service status alert up, but I've not had any issues on the 360 at all today. Have you tried other games than just TWD? Wondering if the issue is only affecting a small group of people...

I've been playing downloaded games using the 'trick'. Make sure you reset your xbox whenever you change game, it's not enough to sign out and launch the game, you need to turn off the brick and repeat the process. As for now, I'm still suffering the issue.

Basically, from the way I understand it, the way it now works is you unlock the achievement in the game, and assuming you have connectivity to the internet and their cloud, it synchronizes, and you see your gamerscore go up across all your devices. The push function of the achievement forces the sync to occur when you have connectivity, but at times, especially recently with the outages, the push doesn't make it, and you're stuck waiting for the daily automatic sync, or having to unlock another achievement to force it to push again.

The One does this for the cloud saves as well, but at least on that, we have a local copy of the save.

It is a cool machine when it works. And, up until now, Microsoft has been improving it. If we could just get some more games on it...
 
Had a friend that moved and didn't have internet for a week. He was playing X1 offline all week. When he got internet, he said achievements were popping up for 5+ minutes. I kind of want to play offline now for a year.
 
I like the XOne a lot....it's not perfect, and the install times are ridiculous, but the controller rocks and gaming is beautiful....Make it backwards compatible Microsoft and the generation is yours.

Microsoft have dropped the ball big time on their rewards system. There is months of on-going unresolved issues on their forums, a total mess. As for surveys, word has it they are no longer monthly. Instead, they'll be every 2-3 months a time. Add that to the fact you dont get even get points for Gold renewal anymore, and you come to the conclusion that MS really dont give a shit anymore.

My guess is adding new stuff for XB1, all surveys couldnt have been for nothing lol.

Well, they don't want to give SOMETHING, and that something seems to be money/points/currency.

You're right about the renewal reward being discontinued--that's depressing. In four years of this program, I've gone from drowning in rewards, to quenching my thirst with rewards, and now I'll be lucky from the sounds of it--especially if the survey rumor is true--it sounds like I'll be giving them all this market research for basically nothing. Hooray, Rewards? :woo:

Thanks! Just got it to work. All you have to do is skip sign-in initially when you start your Xbox up. I didn't have to unplug it from the power at all.

 
So, I'm trying to make my way through Dark Souls since XBL gave it away for free a while back.

Is the framerate generally terrible on the 360? I mean, I'm enjoying the precise and defensive gameplay, but the stinkin' framerate is killing any enjoyment I've been having in the game.

It was kind of crappy to begin with. You can always go spend $60 every two weeks on digital video, (who the hell even spends that in any case, especially now, when we're in a dry season for movie and television releases?), and get a whopping $10 back.

They should just drop the rewards program, and up the freebie game counts.

I have the PS3 and the 360 version, and it can get pretty shit on both.

The game absolutely chugs when you get to Blighttown, but the rest of the game should be bearable. Unfortunately, it's just something you'll have to endure.

I saw some people talking about this earlier but didn't understand. I have a 1tb external hard drive, but i can't get my xbox 360 to let me use barely any of it, and can't find a program to let me make my own partition that'll work or anything.

Is there a way to use a program to maybe use like, 500 gig of it with my xbox 360 and it actually see it's there and let me use it, plus be able to use the rest on PC? Any help would be appreciated, I have way too many arcade games I can't play because my Microsoft hard drive broke.
 
I'm going to start a random rumor about Xbox and then treat it as a fact just because everyone today is all about that instant reaction as truth drama.

you cant use an external hard drive for the 360 i believe the most it supports is 32GB the xbone does however support external drives which is what you saw discussed earlier

Would totally love to know how you selected which partition you wanted the xbox 360 to see. I have been trying for a bit now but can't get the 360 to recognize a single partition and it ends up wiping the drive each time.
