I did know about the forums, though I do appreciate letting me know just incase. I just meant on a more individual bases. Nothing against forums, as I support this one, I just know when feedback is asked for people can go a bit off the rails. None the less it's a matter of "wait and see" either way.
Beatles DLC is probably the only thing I'd buy, but I don't see any of their songs on sell, unless I missed it somewhere.
Beatles DLC will NEVER be compatible with the Rock Band franchise (including RB3 & RB-Blitz), but will only work with "The Beatles - Rock Band" ... that was a core stipulation of the contract to avoid devaluing their brand.

Word to the wise ... rather than hoping xbldb.com catches all the track-packs & individual songs tied to each pack, I'd like to remind y'all that the Rock Band Music Store is still a great way to navigate the RB tracks & track-packs. It won't isolate what's on sale, but it DOES allow you to see which individual tracks are associated with larger collections, so that you don't mistakenly purchase both track-packs & individual-tracks (thereby purchasing items "twice"), plus it also allows you to preview the songs before purchasing.

On a general note ... geez, what a lot of thread-crapping on a Monday! Come on, folks, get happy! :D

Never say never. They might finally realize they're losing out on more potential royalties and change their minds. Remember how long they held out from putting their music on iTunes? (And yeah, yeah, I get that there was a trademark dispute over the "Apple" name being associating with selling music, too... but still).

And the Rock Band sale announcement couldn't make me happier. I wish they'd staggered the sales as a weekly RB deal instead of dumping it all on us at once, though. Even after triaging which track packs I absolutely want, I'll still be spending $200 in one go.

Reminder to all that the "Crazy Game Time" deals are still valid on 4000 point cards, and though I've placed at least 5 orders in the last 4 weeks, I'll probably give them another $78 tonight ... and my order placed just 5 min's ago was billed & redeemed flawlessly. :D

You'll find their links @ CAG's "XBL points & GOLD subscription" thread here:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=6721848

If you need XBL GOLD subscription time, they supposedly have a deal for 9/17 only, and the coupon code can be found in the thread's OP as well.

I agree. It was so overwhelming tonight to figure out what to buy. I don't want to go overboard and I am at 2 packs (No Doubt/Rush) and close to 50 singles.

$200? god damn dude. i cant play RB for 10 minutes without my joints hurting like hell.
do they ever put games like Resident Evil Code Veronica on sale?
CVX was on sale about a month ago at $15

Resident Evil Archives? Closest to a real sale, I guess... Lol

For the record, I ragged DDN for being a half-brawler. I think that's true in SP, but with the addition of a second player and all the double damage, health sharing, et al, the game becomes MUCH more like a proper beat-em-up just by the numbers game you can now win.

I still like the game in both its formats. If it were $15 I would blanch, and even at $10 it's probably a little much when the soundtrack is PWYW and easily half the value of the game, but it's a fun ride and Wayforward can at least throw a rip-roaring final battle, even if the only good way to beat most of it is with Fireball.

Just for completeness sake, my bro-op partner quickly wanted to play Shank 2 again and I don't blame him. For fluidity, solid mechanics, and gruesome satisfaction, ain't nobody touching Shank 2 any time soon. The list of things I wouldn't do for more Shank is getting embarrassingly small.
The original Zuma is hard as hell. You can buy a lot of frustration for $2.50 if that's what you're looking for. I would skip it and pick up the sequel when it goes on sale. I have both and Revenge is infinitely more playable.

Bejeweled Blitz is a waste. Pick up any other Bejeweled game and you'll be far better off.
Completely with you on this. Whoever said the first Zuma is easy... Come on, stop bragging. Very few people are able to complete that game, whereas Zuma's Revenge is both beatable and a major improvement in lots of ways.

im a huge beat um brawler fan. is shank games for me?

It's always been the go-to game for all my friends when we'd hang out. Most of us were in band or garage bands in high school so that might have something to do with it.

I beat it once, and it was frustrating as hell. Took me months to do, and one night I finally did it. Zuma's Revenge is far easier.

Meh. I love Rock Band, and a lot of those songs rock, I'll snag a few Snoop Dogg songs and maybe a SOAD song. I'm bummed that it's only pre-RB3. Before Rock Band 3 was when I spent most of the money on songs. Had it been post-RB3, I'd sink at least $100 on this sale. Here's hoping to that!

Buying the Jimi Hendrix albums, No Doubt’s Tragic Kingdom, STP pack, Neon Trees pack, Disturbed 03 and Green Day 02. And like 30 singles, so that's a little over $60. The rest of the stuff on that list, I have what I want. And I have 1,100+ songs in my RB library. So I can't buy much more

Such an awesome sale!!!!!!!! :bouncy:

This Rock Band sale couldn't have come at a worse time for me. Then again, there's probably no way in hell I could have ever entertained the idea of buying every fucking song... and believe me, if I had the money, I would. :p

Not a bad time to stock up on the industrial rock tunes I'm missing, though.
im a huge beat um brawler fan. is shank games for me?
Check out the demos... I haven't played Shank 2 yet (holding out for a sale), but I really enjoyed the first Shank.
No disrespect taken. FWIW I feel like Call of Duty is just a glorified version of Wolfenstein. :p

Because of the way this was announced and the fact that the sale spans multiple platforms I think it's pretty safe to say this will be open to everyone and there will be different content for the regular DotW.
I remember all the way back in June of 2012, Sega announced a Sonic 21st anniversary sale. Prices of Sonic games on Steam, iOS, PSN, and XBL were on discount, and it was the Deal of the Week for gold members. While safe to say the Rockband sale may not coincide with DotW, there has been precedence where a publisher made an announcement of discounts and the Live team just decides to lock the deals behind a paid subscription. Personally, I hope the Rockband sale is just a concurrent sale along with a separate offering for DotW.
NiGHTS & Sonic Adventure 2 confirmed for Oct. 5th, 800 MSP each. For 240 MSP, you can get the Battle Mode DLC for SA2, which is the extra maps & characters for multiplayer that were added in the GCN version of the game, along with Chao Karate.

& NiGHTS does come with the Christmas NiGHTS expansion included for free.
YES! I loved NiGHTS: Into Dreams and its special demo Christmas NiGHTS! Along with Jet Set Radio, which I think is this Wednesday, Sega brings some of my favorites to XBLA. NiGHTS and JSR are games I'd gladly spend 800MSP on release!
Yeah, give it a few more months, & I'm sure Sega will put those Vintage Collections on sale sometime. They do so many downloadable sales, you can pretty much guarantee if it's a XBLA/PSN game, it's been/will be on sale.

Not sure on another Dreamcast Collection. NiGHTS is a Saturn game, which wouldn't work, though maybe they could have JSR, SA2, Nights, & Daytona and call it something like Dreamcast & Saturn Collection.

Sonic Adventure was part of the Dreamcast Collection with Sega Bass Fishing, Crazy Taxi, & Space Channel 5 Part 2 (speaking of which, when's the original gonna be on XBLA/PSN?)
I am also waiting on the Sega Vintage Collection offerings to get discounts because not only do I love the Streets of Rage (Bare Knuckle) and Golden Axe series, they are emulated well unlike the previous offerings on XBLA (and Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection/Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection). Also I only want Revenge of Shinobi/The Super Shinobi and Monster World IV but those two titles are bundled with two others that I have no interest in the Sega Vintage Collection sets, so those I really want at a discount.

This just makes me go through my Sega Saturn and Dreamcast collection to look for some more Sega titles I'd love to hit XBLA. A sampling of what I figure would be nice:
- Hanagumi Taisen Columns 1/2 (Puzzle Fighter-like Vs. with the Columns system)
- Sakura Taisen 1-3 (speaking of which, Red Company)
- Puyo Puyo (love the Compile characters)
- Typing of the Dead (work that chatpad ^^)
- Dragon Force 1-2 (addictive fun, with possible 202 characters on the battlefield)
- Panzer Dragoon 1/Zwei/Azel (not the Kinect one)
- Last Bronx (Virtua Fighter, with weapons!)
- Fighters MEGAMiX (who remember the Fighting Vipers half?)
- Legend of Oasis (Thor!)
- Burning Rangers (great with technology that can now render the visuals)
- Shining Force 3 Scenario 1-3+premium (all of them, before there was Mass Effect, this transferred saves from 1-3)
- Eternal Arcadia (they keep showing up in Sonic games)
- Chu Chu Rocket (it's got cats and mice)

Those would be great Sega titles on XBLA ... at a discount ^^. I didn't even mention the titles from the Genesis/Mega Drive they've still not placed on XBLA.
This.

Also, [insert generic "Does anyone know what the deals for this week are?" comment here]
You ruined it! We were going to have a dark Monday to Tuesday without the question =(

^ This, this and more this.

But Beyond Oasis needs to be brought along with it. It is available on WiiWare.

I Think Power Stone 2 is the biggest Dreamcast game I've been clamoring and wanting on XBLA. Especially with online play. That and maybe Cannon Spike, since one of the few unknown gems from Capcom on that console that also had Megaman as a playable character.
The only games from Dreamcast that I really want on XBLA would be.

Shenmue
Skies Of Arcadia
Jeez, the Dreamcast had so many more gems and classics than that. Like little Bardok said, Power Stone 2 and Cannon Spike would definitely be cool.

I'd definitely pick up a Midway collection and forgot they de-listed those titles. Today I got the Capcom Digital Collection, Dreamcast Collection and Kirby's Dream Collection in from Amazon so obviously I'm a fan of those!

So I ended up getting Astropop today and decided to wait on Bejeweled 3 to get it with Zuma's Revenge once that disc goes on sale. Then my PopCap collection will be complete.

And I can't believe that Rock Band sale. It's insane! After the back to school sale, those collections and grabbing Borderlands 2 tonight my wallet is weeping. Time to buy some points! After that I hope to avoid any more game purchases for awhile.

Just saw XBLDB update with Rock Band stuff. It begins...

Also, the hell are we going to do about the OP this week? I mean I have free time but not THAT much free time, lol.

Gonna at least dig around to see what non-Rock Band stuff is on sale. Looking like RB DLC is the DotW..

Edit: Also, I don't remember if someone talked about wanting it released on XBLA in the past but the Killer Instinct trademark was just renewed by Microsoft.

must be an error with missing link dlc as why would it be there?

there could also be more with the fable heroes on sale as it is weird for it to be on sale on its own
Here is the link to the PDF for the RB sale.
http://www.rockband.com/content-assets/2012/09/RBDLCsaleGraphic.pdf

The Fable Heroes sale isn't that weird since the demo for Fable Journey just came out and Fable Heroes connects with Fable Journey. I think you can transfer gold or something. So I think they are trying to promote that which is why it's an instant buy for me.

did not think of that.

well hopefully more stuff is added to deal of week or added to fable heroes on sale

I just finished up DXHR, including Missing Link, and I enjoyed it. I got it on sale LAST MONTH. Really?

Particularly silly because it's gold exclusive this time around (it wasn't last month). It would be less ridiculous the other way around (if gold got sales before the rest of folks).

Wow, tempted by Dragon's Lair even if I already own multiple copies of the game for other platform, mostly for nostalgia factor... since I saw the "Arcade Kinect" label on its cover, can anybody confirm that it's controller-friendly too as I still haven't bite on the flailing arms peripheral?

Yes, Dragon's Lair is controller-friendly. It's one of those "better with kinect" titles. I have a friend that has all the achievements in it and he doesn't own kinect.
Disappointing.

I would want to see a Capcom sale again with both Mega Man games included. Don't know how i missed to buy them before.
I've been waiting for a third strike online sale for what feels like forever. With the anniversary collection coming out this week I was crossing my fingers. Hope capcom has a sale soon too.
It's Dragon's Lair worth 400 points? I've never beaten it or seen the ending....or should I just youtube it? :p
I'm trying to decide this as well. I want to try it just because it's one of those classic games for being ahead of its time, but on the other hand, it's pretty much Quick-Time Event: The Video Game. I'm 1/2 tempted to just skip & save the money for MvC Origins, JSR, Nights, & SA2.
It's Dragon's Lair worth 400 points? I've never beaten it or seen the ending....or should I just youtube it? :p
To be honest even with Nostalgia Goggles equipped it is hardly a good "game"...it's more of a short interactive movie, so you just could see the 5 minutes on youtube lol
It's Dragon's Lair worth 400 points? I've never beaten it or seen the ending....or should I just youtube it? :p
As someone who poured a lot of quarters into it with my dad back in the day...youtube it.

Unless you have friends, a kinect and booze. Drink after every death = good times.

I already got The Missing Link on sale. Does anyone have an opinion on the two weapons packs?

I'm pretty sure I'll pick up Fable Heroes and Dragon's Lair... Plus a million RB tracks.
Yes, Dragon's Lair is controller-friendly. It's one of those "better with kinect" titles. I have a friend that has all the achievements in it and he doesn't own kinect.
Nice, thanks! I'll grab it when Xbox.com starts working again, then... :)
It's Dragon's Lair worth 400 points? I've never beaten it or seen the ending....or should I just youtube it? :p
In my opinion, it's worth only if you share an emotional bond with it, as if you want to simply watch the scenes and its ending you'll be perfectly fine watching a longplay on Youtube instead, preferably in HD :)

The game is... not a game at all: it's a roughly 30 minute QTE session, so if you have not experienced its first coming in the arcades where it completely destroyed all its pixel-fueled rivals and didn't have to go through an endless queue just to put your quarter in and die 10 seconds later, then I highly doubt you'll end up liking it.

Still, it IS a piece of videogame history, so maybe you'll deem it worthy at least for this :)
