Is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD worth the 1200 points?
I've been hearing mixed thoughts on it, can't really decide...

Nope. It's a bad upgrade. Like Turtles in Time Reshelled bad.

They screwed up the physics and animations, plus there are tons of graphical glitches and a major lack of content.

Stick with the Dreamcast versions of THPS 1 and THPS 2 for the best rendition of those games. You can probably get both for $5 total. Or if you don't have a Dreamcast, you can get THPS 2X for $5 since that's backward compatible with the 360.

Except Turtles in Time: Reshelled wasn't a bad game, despite what people may say.
Yes. Just bought it during the sale. No problem after the first level, but a lengthy freeze after finishing the second level. It's really not bad though, still a great game.
Hmm, I just bought it from the sale as well and I haven't had any freezing problems. Played it for a couple hours the first night but I've been too into CS:GO to go back to it.
I checked the forums on Dead Block and there are many complaints of freezing. Anyone buy this recently and experience this? I enjoyed the demo but not if it freezes at the end of levels.
I've put several hours into it this week and it hasn't frozen on me once. *knock on wood*

I'm going back and forth on Skydrift, the demo seemed fun enough but the lack of local multiplayer means that I would need there to be an active online multiplayer community still around it. Is the game still pretty active online? I heard lots of great things about the netcode and the online multiplayer being the best part of the game but I want to make sure the community is still alive so I have someone to play with before I plunk down my space bucks.

Thanks!

+1. It may of not been as great as the classic, but it was still a good game.

Reshelled deserves all the hate it gets.

Anyone care to throw out an opinions on Crazy Machines? I didn't care for the demo, but I also wasn't in the mood to take the time to learn it.

what you stated about reshelled could be applied here for that game in question and all the others on sale, i'll be passing on them as they seem lower quality and not even worth the $ nor time.

Reshelled was utter trash. I felt ripped off even though I paid $2. Shoulda bought a Rock Band track instead

Skipping on everything this week. I tried Deadblock but it just didn't tickle my fancy. I remember TNT Racers and the quality wasn't that high. $5 is a taaad too much IMO

I'm of the opinion Reshelled was decent, though definitely a letdown. If it had included the SNES exclusive Turtles in Time content, it would have been better off. Too bad about that.

Picked up Crazy Machines Elements, Dead Block, SkyDrift, and the DLC for the latter two. Passing on AC:R DLC next week since I'm pretty confident it'll go on sale again.

No freezing for me. I have almost gotten all the medals for each stage plus DLC and had no issues. I'll just say this is one of my top 5 XBLA games. Something about it is just fun.
it's pretty awful. you might still enjoy it though. the demo makes it seem like it will be fun, but i assure you, it is not.
I disagree. It didn't live up to the hype but it was still a fun game to play through. Just throwing the other side out there so people don't write it off.

for the rewards prom i posted on the forum and have not heard back. is there a faster way to get in touch with someone to help about rewards. would chat work or is that only for just xbox stuff?

Nope. They removed all support when Microsoft outsourced the program.

so just the rewards forum. tha sucks.
my problem might not even get fixed as i have seen some posts on there that have there for a while and still at 0 comments

Thanks to whoever recommended Skydrift. While nothing spectacular, it's a fun little arcade racer and while there are several, I don't think I ever played a flying one before. Glad I grabbed it, if only for the single player aspect.
Madden, Rock Band Blitz, and TWD: E3 over the next 2 days. Damn...there are not enough hours in the day!
We have a lot to play. Also, I picked up dead block, saw you recommended it.
fuck yeah buddy cannot wait love the walking dead
Same here. Episodes cost cheap enough, so i don't need to wait for any sale. :bouncy:

So Rock Band Blitz is really fucking good. If you have a decent sized RB song collection this game will make you beyond happy. Highly recommended.

fight night champion is 33% off today (whenever these prices update). i have 4, is champion much better? is it more accessable (4 can't really be played with people who don't know what they're doing lol)? you can still download random created boxers for free right? i hate career in 4 because you have to play those stupid minigames to get stronger...u can sim them but u get absolutely nothing on the stats boost it sucks. the games aren't fun i just want to box. like greatest heavyweights on the genesis, pick training things and just worry about the fights.

rockstar publisher sale, they'll get me for bully for $15, 12 after my msp discount. i don't understand how they update the dash but not the prices on the games at the same time, for such a big operation they're run worse than geocities sites

Even though Marketing has the ability to stagger Dashboard releases (or at least pay some temp to stay up late on Monday night), instead they'll setup the Dashboard changes right when they go home at 5pm on Monday night. Meanwhile, Ops pushes database changes at 2am Pacific, since they're a 24/7 service desk run by a crack team of trained & hardened SysOp guys. Mind you, that's not "inside knowledge" about the Xbox Marketing folks ... that's just years of watching them literally switch the Dashboard as I get home at night ... or better yet, make factual errors on the Dashboard graphics & website. :)
thought smeone said that tnt racers was part of the august rewards promotion. i have bought that and tony hawk and nothing is even pending
You won't see the pending until they run their script again, which prob. won't be until next week, since they only reason they should run it in August is to get the early birds their points before the 15th. However, as the one who painfully scraped that list together, I know both are included under the "sports" umbrella.

I'm 99% sure you're going to get your 240pts on or before Sept. 15th. :)
I so hope The Games on Demand version of Bully is 800 points.
it says 25% off so it will be 1200. still half what it costs on ebay i think.

ok champion is $20 but shit there's no demo. i only want to upgrade if the gameplay has improved but i can't tell from a video lol. worth swapping 4 for or not? i heard there was a patch that made stamina go down really fast and made it not too fun?

No one wants to be the guy that stands up and says whether Adventures of Shuggy is worth playing? I know one of you depraved bastards got through it.

Loser deals:

Plants vs Zombies - 600 (600 off)
DR2: Case Zero - 200 (200 off)
DR2: Case West - 400 (400 off)

Winner prize I'm pretty sure is the avatar prop Zombie mask from PvZ but can't confirm.

It is worth playing. Just play the trial. I enjoyed the game quite a bit. IMO it was worth the 800 points when i bought it a few weeks ago.
Turtles in Time Re-shelled was a little disappointing, but still a competent brawler. Anyone calling it garbage is just engaging in hyperbole.
Totally agreed. Same goes for The Warriors: Street Brawl. They may not be trendsetters, but neither game is deserving of the bile heaped upon it.

I liked the clips I've seen of the new Double Dragon game, here's hoping the gameplay holds up.

Well I bought Skydrift in the final hours...there's just nothing this week and I've been sitting on some points for a while....I can't bring myself to buy the DLC but if its like the game Blur, but in the sky, I'm sold.
Hmmm may have to buy Bully for 1200. Doesn't it perform pretty poorly on 360 tho?
They patched it once or twice. I played it a year or two after release after all of the fixes and had no issues other than a framerate drop here or there. Others reported that they still had problems, but for me it was fine. I love the game and was kind of sad when I got the full gamerscore because it meant I'd wrung pretty much everything from the game and had nothing left to do.

I played Bully...two years ago I think and I don't recall having any issues with glitches or anything else really. I believe there was a glitch that prevented you from getting one of the achievements, but that's been fixed iirc.

While we're on the subject of Games on Demand. Burnout Revenge. I know it's a great game as I had a copy for the original xbox. I'm tempted to buy it for the 360 since it actually is a Burnout game (unlike Paradise). But I'm wondering about the online. I don't expect it to be very much alive, but the servers are supposedly back up from what I've read. Wondering if I should take a chance and try to knock out the online achievements for it while I have the chance.

I'm pretty sure several of us have recommended Shuggy already, when it first got a price drop. It's really fun.

Thanks for the info. I'll buy it if/when they actually drop the price on it.
Bully doesn't seem to be $14.99/1200msp for 360. That is the appropriate price for the pc version though.
Yeah, it looks like all the sales prices have been updated except for the GoD (Bully and Midnight Club). I really hope they don't forget to drop their prices.
Walking Dead episode 3 is out on Wednesday :D
According to an article at IGN I read it was supposed to be out on PSN and XBLA today the 28th. It's not listed on XBLA yet though.

I've found a few actual races but not many. I still have three chevos left to knockout. It would take several hours to get them all, but they'd be fun hours. The hardest would be getting six players together for the winning a race in a full room chevo.

I hope they do, had they I would be playing it instead of wanting to play it.
I got about half way though years ago on the Xbox and I thought it was great and I would like to finish it. Come on Rockstar/Microsoft, drop that price.
