Also, it's $9.99 for a one month sub.
Though usually the dashboard has a 1 month special for $1 or $2, but comes with autorenew (which charges you the full price), but I hear it's a hell of a lot easier to turn off autorenew and remove your payment information. I know you can turn off auto-renew if you change your address to Illinois because of a handy new law they passed.
from dust is a ubisoft game

hopefully that will be on sale next week
It will. It just made the half a million downloads mark. Maybe if your lucky 600 MSP, but 800 MSP seems to be more realistic.

I ended up caving and just buying Marble Blast Ultra off of Best Buy, since Gamestop's arcade games all pretty much end with "DLC", had $10 to burn, so I picked Marble Blast Ultra and TMNT 1989. Gonna see if I can pick up a 1600 card in Best Buy on Sunday since they're having that shopper event, since I missed out on the EverSave deal with O.com, ugh.

Btw, just finished Stacking yesterday morning, definitely saw some of your complaints, but I absolutely thought it was worth 600 MSP, and am having a hard time not just shelling out 400 for the DLC and the 50 remaining GS. We can more or less assume there's no more DLC for Stacking at this point based on Costume Quest and their focus on Trenched and Once Upon A Monster, right?

Concur about the price. Though I could see Xbox telling Ubisoft to hold off on including this game in the sale so they can throw it in their end-of-year deals

Just started Marble Blast Ultra, I think it's well worth $5. And yeah, I don't see any more DLC coming out for Stacking.

I decided to pick up Final Fight Double Impact. I had the trial awhile ago, but this time I did a blind buy and forgot that Magic Sword was in there too. Totally worth 400 MS Points even more so.

I like how there are several screen options as well as the ability to switch between original and updated music. Nice package.
is the final fight game just an update of the super nintendo version?
No, it's a port/update of the Arcade version and the arcade version of MAGIC SWORD in one package.

The SNES was a port of the arcade.

Remember this is on PS3...Think we are getting a similar list (minus some ps3 exclusive games of course) or what?

2 quick comments:

1) This is EU only still as far as I know.

2) Well duh, we will get some sort of Ubisoft games/dlc on sale during the Ubisoft sale. What we get may be different and the discounts may be different as well. This list is almost completely useless to post in a US XBLA thread...

(Please don't take offense at the above comments. I'm just a little crabby we don't even have these deals on PSN in the States, let alone on XBLA.)

That being said, I'm in for From Dust for 600msp or less. Not worth any more than that. The game should have been 800 to begin with imo. It wasn't the only overpriced SoA game sadly. ITSP, which I thought was awesome, should have been 800msp as well. Going to wait for a 600 or less sale on it as well. Really, Bastion and maybe Toy Soldiers warranted the premium 1200msp price tag.

Haha I felt the exact same way. The last thing I needed was to see that list again. I was finally started to cope with it, and BAM! it's thrown right back into my face.

You should really edit your post. It's pretty misleading titling it Ubisoft sale, saying we might get a slice of this sale and then putting disclaimers at the bottom. LOTS of people will read that first sentence as confirmation and then see all those items on sale. It gets the 360 owners all hyped up and we'll "expect" most of what's on the EU PS3 to get discounted for the US 360 owners. Too much wishful thinking that's stated out loud(again), sets yourself and others up for disappointment.

Besides, this list was already posted a few pages back. Like a week ago even

I would like to apologize to those who are hoping tp get something from the list I posted..

Just wanted to give you guys some ideas what we might see in this upcoming sale.

Now, about this list..I hope they do put up From Dust and Outland!

I'll only get From Dust if it's about half. Already got Outland from the last sale a few months back and that game is challenging, but the controls are so smooth and all about coordination.

Otherwise, Prince of Persia - Epilouge DLC. Do it Ubisoft. DO IT.
omg beyond good and evil I've been waiting for this to go on sale
It was on sale on Cyber Monday for 260 MS points.

Might have to finally buy Scott Pilgrim. Played the demo with some friends and enjoyed it.
i'll stick a post in here stating that i will not buy 'from dust' for 800 pts, but rather for 600 pts.
+1
What are the thoughts on From Dust? Has anyone here actually purchased it? I was just curious what it was like.

-B
I bought it when it released and regretted it. It starts out neat but never really goes anywhere. You're pretty much just moving dirt around and dealing with fairly strict time limits. A decent challenge but not particularly fun to play.

That's pretty much what I got from the demo. Still interested in it but definitely going to have to be on the cheap.

Thanks! I was wondering if the story went anywhere beyond the demo. That's too bad. I really thought this had a lot of promise. Eh, I guess I'll be waiting on this one.

might have to try seabastion based on that review. Im not expecting much from this year holiday sales, but yet again I could be wrong.

Also just thought about, but this tuesday new dash. Holy shit time goes fast, before I know it ill be 50 and maybe still using CAG for deals on ps5 and KinectSo 765 or some weird microsoft console name.
From Dust might be worth 600 MSP, but it's a stretch. It'll hit the 400 MSP price point in another year or less.

I suggest watching the Zero Punctuation review of the game.
That Zero Punctuation review seems to be fairly accurate for what From Dust is, but I definitely wouldn't recommend watching it for reviews normally, unless, of course, you don't like video games and never want to buy one.

Agreed! Making fun of games is NOT the best way to review them. Zero Punctuation can be funny, but it's the opposite of informative and useful.

You say that until you've seen his review of Minecraft.

Thanks for the suggestion of From Dust, however, I did try the demo durring the Summer of Arcade and I did all the snorting the coke of the earth instad of completing the first tutorial level. I did eventually complete the demo portion. It did feel like a tech demo, and everyone mentions the restrictive time limits which prevents enjoyable exploration of later stages. These initial impressions make me feel even at my predicted price of 600MSP around the countdown to New Years sale, it may not be worth it to me (but I have about a 65% chance on buying just because it would be a one day sale but maybe less later).

I am still a bit disappointed this past week's DotW featured 3 titles I had already purchased at those same prices (I did pass on Hyper Fighting). I did desire Puzzle Fighter and Third Strike which fits the theme of the sale and I have yet to get them because they have not been on sale yet (for as long as I have been on Live). The sale to me felt more disappointing when I signed onto my Japanese gamertag because on the Japanese marketplace, Half-minute Hero is 400MSP for JP Gold DotW. That tells me MS does have a channel of communication to some Japanese developers/publishers to offer a chance to be a part of some promotion. This does give me renewed hope for SNK XBLA titles and Soul Calibur to finally be at a price point I can be happy with.

I am expecting Summer of Arcade titles to be a part of the Countdown to New Years promotion, as that has been the case the last two years. So Bastion, From Dust, and Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet are finally on my radar. Yet, I have this feeling they may pull a Limbo on us with Bastion, where every title gets a 50% off offering but that title will be just 33% off causing me to wait longer. The current trend for deals on Xbox Live has caused me to be more cynical about deals, perhaps to temper myself for disappointment. We can only hope at this time that it would be otherwise when the time comes.

Soul Caliber has been 50% off at one point in time. I remember cause I didn't buy it and some of my friends thought I was crazy for not getting it for 400 points.....SC just isn't my cup of tea

I'm hoping for Costume Quest DLC Grubbins on Ice to go on sale. I finished the main game about a month ago.

I'm playing Might and Magic Clash of Heroes right now (bought at 800MSP during a sale awhile ago) and enjoying the hell out of it.

I considered getting SC when I first got my Xbox, then I discovered that it's only a sad shadow of the Dreamcast version. Due to the old XBLA file size restrictions, they cut out the Mission mode. Mission mode was whole point of the game for me.
And there's also no online multiplayer.

I was in the minority that actually liked what the rebooted PoP had done and was eager to dive into the DLC once I had finished the game.

The DLC adds almost nothing to the story. You are literally headed down a narrow hallway the entire time and fighting recycled enemies from the main game. The vivid colors in the main game are replaced with repetitive wall textures. Even though the DLC isn't that long, it feels like it drags on since you're seeing the same thing over and over. Do yourself a favor and avoid that DLC regardless of what they price it at.

I know I'm the last person to be signing up for the Bing thing, but can someone tell me (or provide a link) that explains what I need to do? I have Firefox. Any sign-up bonuses?

Just install the tool bar to your browser and it'll tell you links or searches to get you to earn points. Though ALOT of people who use anything, but Internet Explorer experience noticeable slowdown because of the tool bar. So if you have IE just do it on there.

It can't be as much of a waste as the Saints Row 2 DLC. Goddamn even at half price for each of those single player missions I felt beyond gypped. Though I think eitherway the completionist in me demands I have this on my hard drive.
