Wish they had put Lara Croft on sale for 400 points. Passed on it the first time for 600 and it is tempting but I think I might end up passing again. Trying to hold firm on the 400 points point. There's always that nagging feeling of "what if this never goes on sale again?" that tempts me to lock in now. I'm only mildly interested in the game but it does seem like it could be fun so I'm torn.
I don't think I've ever seen a game on sale for more than 50% off, so 400 points for Lara Croft is extremely unlikely. Also, I'll second that its a fantastic game (even moreso when done co-op).

Definitely!!! I had CE, and I am glad I got DX.

I think he's talking about Sonic Adventure.

Also, any updates about the Your Shape sale?

correct, sorry for the confusion. I own both pacman releases too.

As far as Sonic.. jumped on it for nostalgia. Unfortunately, I decided to check reviews afterwards and they aren't "good." No 16:9 on the game for starters and dubbed a lazy release.

Batman and Bioshock 2 price reductions are calling to me. I know they're both cheaper on disc, but I've gotten a ton of free msp and I really like having games on my hard drive that I can just play without worrying about what's in the tray. There are a bunch of other GoD games I want as well for like $20. I could easily spend about $130 right now if I didn't have any willpower. Luckily these are reductions and not sales, otherwise I'd be confirming the purchase right now. I guess I can always wait until I need something to play.
The reason Sonic Adventure is on sale ( and Yu-Gi-Oh last month, and other stuff previous months) is because its the XBL Family Gold Deal of the Month. I think its only visible on the blade if you have a Live Family Gold account, but XBL Marketplace cant tell the difference between a normal Gold account and a Family Gold account so anyone with Gold gets the sale price. Its also why some of these seemingly random deals appear unadvertised and last for 2 weeks or longer.

Just an observation I made after switching to a Family Gold plan last month I thought I'd share
I wonder if you switch to the family blade if it will show up. Thanks, I guess I will make a separate sale category for it. I'm switching to family plan this summer, so I might need someone to throw me an update now and then.

Games on Demand prices are so wacky. They have AAA titles like Bioshock 2 and Borderlands for $20, but have Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2009 for $30

Yup. It's the publishers. EA and other publishers have genuinely great games for $20. Activision games are ridiculous, like Dangerous Hunts 2009 for $30 and MW2 for $60.

Off avatar items or DLC, but I can't recall the last time I ever saw an actual game on sale for more than 50% off (unless you count a 50% off sale after a price drop from 1200 to 800).

During the Thanksgiving sale a bunch of games were 66% off including Portal, some Xbox Originals, Madden NFL Arcade, and Trials HD. Also, Splosion Man was 160 points, which is 80% off the normal price.

Burnout paradise big surf island=560 ms points (?? % off) regular 1000 ms points

I was thinking about picking up this game but would like to know is this the only DLC for Burnout Paradise or are there others?

there is more dlc available, but that's the major (core) part of the dlc you should get anyways. 1 is a party pack type and not worth it, other dlc is to unlock cars early so you don't have to earn them in the campaign. there's another dlc I think where it gives you new vehicles like mini versions of vehicles. the latest update gave you free bikes and other features.

Theres a buttload of other packs (Cars, Bikes, etc). Not near my 360, so im not sure if they did a big bundle like PSN does.

Gonna sound like a noob question, but I saw on facebook today where xbox was talking about a sales and specials section. Is that what the deals of the week are or is this something else?
Anyone have impressions of the YourShape DLC?
I have heard good things from various sources (personal and professional) that the Cardio Boxing DLC is a solid workout. I heard some ladies liked the Bollywood one, but that's all I heard about it.

There have been plenty of greater than 50% off deals. Monkey Island 1 & 2 repeatedly go on sale for 400 points and regular price is 1200. The 400 point sales are becoming less and less common it seems I think because so many people have bought for 600 in the past M$ is going to make that the new sale price.

The regular price for both Monkey Island games is 800 points.

Just double checked. Your right. Must have had a permanent price drop. I could have sworn they were $15. It's been a while since I checked though.

I know I got the first one for 800 when on release day because its rare that I buy a 1200 point game.

The cardio platinum is very good. It has new combo moves and is a real upgrade from the gold routine.

The DLC routines are slightly better that the other routines in yourshape (which I find are a little weak).

I went through the Bollywood class, it may be okay for women, but honestly Dance Central is a million times better for a workout.

No sir, they were both 800pts on release:
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/...Monkey-Island-on-the-XBLA-Next-Wednesday.html (scroll to the post at the end in comments linking to the LucasArts Twitter noting 800pts)

And...

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/06/this-wednesday-monkey-island-2-blacklight-tango-on-xbla/

Last deep price sale was during X-Mas/NYE, but I'm good with 50% off, honestly.

Grabbed Lara Croft, but from what you guys are saying then I may hold off on Pack 3 (Torchlight DOES come out tomorrow so I could use the points).

Beat me into the ground if it makes you feel better. Already admitted I was wrong about my assumption (usually I look this stuff up first to avoid being called out for guessing wrong). Irrelevant at this point anyway.

The new years sale was still pretty recent relative to the frequency of sales on XBLA. I'm still on the fence about LC. The DLC sale would normally have swayed my decision but since the DLC seems to not be worth it unless your super into the game and really want more I can't see picking it up. I know I'm not crazy in seeing better deals in the past. As I said they are becoming more and more rare so this might be the last chance to get this at a discount.

Why the hell did I buy PoP. I remembered liking the game before and I play it now and can't stand the controls. Half the time the Guy walks when I want him to run. Ugh

I wish the Splinter Cell DLC would go on sale again, although I doubt it. I'm kicking myself I missed it. I thought it was competitive multiplayer maps, not co-op. I love co-op, but competitive not so much. The brief description on the dashboard was very confusing because it just said "New multiplayer maps" or something to that effect.

Regarding Burnout Paradise, all DLC for the game dropped in price when EA dropped a bunch of DLC sales in late 2010. Unfortunately, the prices are extremely haphazard, such as the "Hawker Mech" and "Carson Extreme" each going for 400pts, with the "Boost Specials" including both is also 400pts ... or the whole "Toy Collection" is the same price of 400pts as each of the smaller pack #1 and #2.

"Big Surf Island" is definitely the best, and I'd say Legendary & Cops are about equal under that (since they either do "unique" things or modify appearance for ALL of the vehicles, respectively), then Toy Cars (doesn't do much but appearance), then Boost Specials (not much payoff except if you do online multiplayer a huge amount for their extreme boost capability). Don't even bother with the Party mode, since hotseat "multiplayer" is neither fun nor even multiplayer. Time Savers is up to you, but once you unlock the cars, where's the challenge of the game if you still drive like crap?

I played Burnout Paradise for sooooo long and Big Surf Island was a hela lot of fun.

I checked out the special deals that was spotlighted on the dashboard, top deals and noticed:
Fierce Moves for your avatar. Not only can you pay for animations but you can also buy a virtual wall to back-flip off of?! HAHA WTF
Is the Onslaught Mode DLC for Bad Company 2 worth the 400?
I played my first round a few days ago, it was more enjoyable then I though. However, I was playing with a couple of friends, not sure how much I would have like playing with all random people.

God im loving Torchlight, cant wait for Dishwasher either. Also, arent the rest of the games from the Dreamcast collection coming to XBLA this month?

dgwillia006: Sega has announced no release dates for Space Channel 5 Part 2 or Sega Bass Fishing for XBLA/PSN, from what I've heard (& according to Sega's site).
God im loving Torchlight
I loved it as well. just posted my review (and a contest giving away 3 copies) today. (See sig)

Anyway, was the all the trappings DlC for lara croft free at some point? (is it still?) I was surprised to see I had it.

Yes the DLC was free for a short time when it was released.

Yeah I'm loving Tochlight as well, played the demo for a 1 hour and 25 min, but I don't have points so I might take you up on that giveaway.;)
