Xbox.com started working for me, so I picked up:

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Sonic and Knuckles
Altered Beast
Peggles Nights
Ilomilo

All for $19 in points. Except that I used points that I bought at a 20% discount, and I had the 5% rewards from last month, so it's really more like I paid ~$14. Not too shabby!

I think majornelson.com made a typo. On xbox.com, Plants vs Zombies shows as 800 MSP, discounted from 1200 MSP (33% off).

So I guess Plants vs Zombies is regularly priced at 1200 MSP (not 1600).

I believe it's always been at 1200 MSP, but you would still be better off buying the Plants vs. Zombies Game Disc, which comes with Peggle and Zuma (I believe)
So apparently some prices are even better than advertised? Most of the 240 MSP games seem to actually be 200 MSP instead
Confirmed for me. All of the 240 MSP games appear as 200 MSP for me.

And (as already mentioned) Virtual On is 600 MSP, not 800 MSP as advertised.
Sonic and Knuckles is showing up at 120 MSP!
Nice find!

Yeah, I checked online and confirmed 10 seconds after I posted (hence the edit). ;)

My bad man! Didn't see the edit
What games are supposed to be free if you are a PSN+ member for SEGA? I don't want to purchase something I may be entitled to in the future.
This is definitely not the thread for your question. However, does anyone know if there is a PSN deal thread?

Virtual On is HOW MANY POINTS? I think I just had a heart attack. Top of my to buy list for 3 years.

So much content on sale again this week. I already can't wait to see what they come up with for next week. Keep this discount-palooza going!

There is a deal thread for both of you to check out:

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=287798

We already got Sonic 1 and 2. I forget what else is coming but there is a list in this thread somewhere.

Damn dude he just asked a question, no need to jump his ass for that.

I wish I knew what to do next on PSII, I got up to around lvl 25-30 and got stuck and quit playing, now I have absolutely no clue where to go.

Anyway prolly going to get Sonic & Knuckles for $1.50...

edit: My new points balance is 420 ::winning::
You have to re-download it. The game used to give me fits trying to play it as well. I also had a launch version.
Tried that, no luck :/

I might have to do a license transfer, which I've been avoiding.

I have a ton of content, games, RB music...I really don't want to sit there and que everything up.

EDIT - looking at my gamercard, it shows that I played it. So....I wonder what the deal is...it still tells me it's a demo.

Thanks...sorry about the PSN+ question. I found the list regardless:
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Streets of Rage 2
Golden Axe 2
Comix Zone
Altered Beast
I recommend buying Outrun Online Arcade, even if only mildly interested, since it will drop off XBLA in Dec.
i just did, i hope CAGS play this online so we can get the achievements :)

Normally, yeah, but right now it's a wash, with both PvZ and Peggle being on sale this week. It comes down to the convenience of having them on the hard drive vs. having them on a disc that you can do whatever you want with.

For these types of games, I prefer to have them on the HD so I can fire them up whenever I want rather than having to mess around with a disc. But that's just me.

So is the "Spring Fling" sale a 1-day sale? I am only a few points short of the msp that I need and I would like to avoid having to buy more points if I can help it.

I'm thinking pretty hard about it. Is it still easy to find a game online? I liked the demo and I want to dive in more, but I was curious for now.
is there anyone online for golden axe? or is it dead like tmnt reshelled
I bought Golden Axe over a year ago and haven't once found a co-op match. That said, send me a FR to gamertag "nah dew" and I will play with you!

IMO you shouldn't hinge your decision on whether or not you'll find any online matches. OutRun is all about beating the clock and making it to the end of your scenic Ferrari drive, impressing your lady in the passenger seat.

It's a classic driving game with great graphics, slick cars, ridiculous drifting, scenic locales and awesome music. It's cheap and about to be delisted. Buy it!!

So can anyone give me a good reason not to buy Sonic's Ultimate Genesis collection for $14.99 w/free standard shipping at Amazon? It has all 4 Phantasy Stars on it plus everything else. I heard you cannot get updates? Does that effect any of the game significantly?
It would still be nice to play online :)

Either way, SOLD!
Hell yeah! FR me and send an invite any time. I'm always willing to drift a Testarossa at 200 MPH with a fellow CAG

Not sure about the updates part. But I do know that there are A LOT fewer achievements per game. Like 1 achievement per game rather than 12.

One thing to remember is that the UGC has a separate set of achievements to the actual XBLA games. Example: Streets of Rage 2 on XBLA has 12 separate achievements for 200 pts, but the UGC version will not give you any of those. The UGC does not have a single achievement tied to Streets of Rage 2.

Thanks! That would be one reason I would not want it but my Cheapness is having an internal struggle with my Achievement Whore...I guess I have a week to see which one wins out. I just really want PSII, I loved that game.

Also, I'm fairly certain you can't install the Genesis collection to your HD, so your disc drive will be cranking every time you play any of those games. This is the one thing I really dislike about my Namco Arcade collection, and a big reason why I'm buying these games via XBLA.

If you really want to get achievements for PSII, then pick it up on XBLA. The version on UGC doesn't have any achievements at all (I think only like half the games on there actually have achievements)

Of course, you could always buy both. Just think of it as spending $15 on the 30-something games that are on the disc but not on XBLA.
Plus getting the XBLA ones, you are saving wear-and-tear on the disc drive and the disc. :)

Spring Fling is DotW. W=week

Thanks everyone. Decided to get PSII now for the achievements and to keep my disk drive from wearing out. I might pick up the collection later on the real cheap just because it sounds like the achievements are an easy 1000. PSII should keep me plenty busy anyway:)

most are very easy. dr robotnik's mean bean machine is hard...

the big advantage is that the disc has shining force!

FYI: Shinobi is also included in Sonic' Ultimate Collection. There's two versions on the disk, one is available right away, the other is an unlockable, at least on the PS3 version. Fairly easy unlockable too, I think you just play the Genesis version once to unlock the arcade version. Should be added to the compilation disk FAQ

So many deals these past couple of weeks. Almost to the point where I'm feeling I'm spending way too much. At least I've restricted myself to the 50% off titles. Looking forward to picking up Ilomilo and maybe Gunstar Heroes.

This is definitely a CAG problem. I can honestly say I have spent less per game the last 18 months since finding this site BUT I know I have spent more money than the previous 18 before finding it. The best thing is I have a backlog so deep that I am sure there are games that will need to be played when the next gen systems are released. I just went through my backlog today and I have more games I have never played then I have played right now...its kind of addicting;)

i agree wholeheartedly. i am saving AND spending more than i ever have before since joining CAG but it is all quality stuff that i probably would have never noticed before or even worse ... i would have paid retail.

With all the sales in the past month I picked up almost all the XBLA games on my wishlist. Hopefully the rest will show up in the near (or not-so-near) future:

Shank
Deathspank 1&2
Stacking
Castlevania SOTN & Castlevnia HD
